The MBRP hits the sweatspot for my ears. Not too loud, but not too quiet. I need to upgrade my current F150 before the end of the year for work and I'm currently between the Powerboost and Coyote, and after watching this I think it's safe to say I made up my mind 😎. Thanks TC!
@@bradleycase4391 catback mbrp on 3.7 v6. sounded so stupid. stared rusting within a week. had to paint everything with that bbq paint. from hearing the video it sounds the same as the v8. im going 5-10mph from a red light, loud like the annoying honda civic exhausts. what a waste of 600 bucks. oh and i had to pay 300 extra to install it cuz it didnt fit. the mechanic had to cut the most rear hanger so it would fit. hahahah mbrp is the worst.
My 2.3l ecoboost Ranger has the MBRP and it sound perfect. Deep mean Roar at WOT, and neighborhood friend rumble on cruise. It is not trying to sound like a V8 but gives a deep powerful tone of its own.
@@ugabuga1361 IDK what version you got but my 2.3l Ranger ecoboost def doesn't sound like no Ricer. They test and post examples of all the bolts on they sell. It not annoying or chop like those honda civic i ever heard. Deep and mean. gets a little clappy up top but it is just a consist power low tenor pitch.
All three sounded better than stock. It really is more a matter of your personal taste. I’ve read comments online about MBRP not holding up for very long, and I would be leery of that drone on the highway. You can’t go wrong with either Borla or Magnaflow, as far as quality. I had a Magnaflow system on my 2004 5.3L V8 Silverado, and never had a problem with it for the 17 years I rolled in that truck. Since my taste runs to the quieter, more subtle sounding tone, I just ordered a Magnaflow system for my 2021 F-150. The Borla is a close second, and definitely has a sweet tone of its own.
In my opinion the MBRP system sounds the best, also like the option of being able to install it with or with out the resonator, to even increase the tone.
Magnaflow is the winner for me. Love that deep tone it makes without being so loud you have to worry about waking up the neighbors or kids. I’m a fan of the bigger diameter pipes and dual exit. MBRP is a close second for sound but 3rd for looks.
I've purchased two of these exhausts for my 2021 F-150, 5.0L 3.73. The MBRP drones out at around 2000 rpms, which is sustained at interstate cruising speeds. It sounds good, but the drone is just too much. I replaced it with the Borla S-Type, pricey, but it sounds freaking awesome, with NO DRONE.
I have the last year of the Triton engines and I ended up having fabricated a Borla dual out exhaust. Deleted factor resonator, XS muffler with their resonated tips. Unfortunately, my gas mileage is horrible because of my new heavier foot got wanting to listen to the nice sound now.
The Borla is my favorite. It’s crazy how Borla was able to capture the deep tone at low rpm but the moment the RPM’s go up it surprises me that it has a a bit higher of a pitch in sound. That’s different for a truck.
Well, after listening and searching out the details, I would go with the MBRP. I like the sound and the black pipe more than just the tip. Look forward to pricing this out for my new 2022 F150 XLT Sport Edition. Thanks for taking the time to break down each of the three #MBRP, #Magnaflow, and #Borla this is also the order of my preference.
Only thing about the Black MBRP is the metal is not most resistant Steel. Nothing wrong with that. However, I may not be the best choice I wet or ocean locations. Armor pro T304 Stainless is the most robust and expensive option.
@@zacharyadams3274 It is zero at cruise, moderate at light throttle. eeerrrraa! at wot. it is a daily exhaust with a fun switch. that is why i got it. I love it. they have the race model if you want annoying. great build quailty
I have the Corsa Xtreme on my 2012 5.0 and man I am in love every time i start it. No drone which is great when my wife and young kids are in the truck but once the windows go down you hear the puuurrr and it is a monster once opened up.
Borla hands down. Mbrp is a distant second imo… trying to decide between the Borla s type and Corsa sport right now for my ‘21 5.0… would love to hear those two back to back… really hard to tell what they sound like through a video regardless though.
That Borla system sounds great, but as I get older their sound is a little too aggressive and loud. The Magnaflow seems like the perfect one to me. I've had great experiences over the years with Magnaflow on Mustangs.
The MBRP is my favorite sound for sure on this particular engine (did you guys mention which engine this truck has?!). The Magnaflow is the gentleman's pick of the bunch - great quality sound without being overbearing. The Borla looks the best, but its sound is too raspy/rice-like for my ears, but if you like the sound, would be a solid pick.
Borlas S-Type would be my choice. I recently picked up a 2022 stx blackout package and have been debating what exhaust to get. This video really helped and I was worried about how loud the cold starts would be in the mornings before work. Thanks for putting this video together.
Definitely Borla, it only cost a little extra to go, first class. I had the Atak Borla on my 2010 F150 / 5.0. Had so many compliments on the sound. Had people roll down their windows at a stop light wanting to know what engine I had in the vehicle.
MBRP it had the most option regarding the resonator in the configuration you chose had a noticeably deep non stock sound without being too loud! Thank you for doing this it helps i just got the truck and know it needs an exhaust change. I wonder what headera and aftermarket cats would sound like.
The Borla is by far the best sound level and tone. The tips will stand out just enough to be noticeable as the the flat black tips seem to get a little lost in the shadows. Great to have multiple exhaust from the same video, it helps really show the differences and mitigates the different recording devices that change the sound from all the various videos.
Idk I got a 2023 f150 5.0 and that corsa extreme side dumped before rear wheel is pretty mean sounding. Tho I will say it was between corsa and borla for the win. Both sound good but I went with corsa for the less truck clap sound.
I was always a magna flow follower and all my F-150s had the true dual magna flow exhaust on them . But I'm really loving the sound of the MBRP sound . I wonder what it would sound like if it was a true dual set up .
Really like the deep throaty sound of the MBRP but think for my needs the Magnaflow is more what I am looking for. Borla is has somewhat of a popping tinny sound which I do not care for.
I just bought the 2023 Ford F150 SXT 5.0 and want to add a little something to it. I bought it last night and add running boards this morning. It just make the whole vibe of the truck sound and feels meaner.
I have a 2.3l ecoboost ranger. I'll say the MBRP Armor PRO exhaust sounds amazing!!!. if you want the nasty, slappy, Ak 47 sound, go with Borla. My MBRP is smooth humming on cruise and a mean 20 Century Fox, lion roar at WOT. I love it. It gets deeper and more robust as you break it in. The value per dollar of quality and performance is hard to beat.
The Magnaflow Black Tip sounds perfect. Not offending, but just rumbling enough. I drive a 2019 w/2.7 ecoboost w/dual turbos. I think this would be awesome without making my wife mad! Thanks for an excellent video!!

Borla is definitely the best of those 3.
The Borla is the best Exhaust on the truck and I put on my earphones so I can hear it better the Borla is so much better sounding
Honestly
I have the last year of the Triton engines and I ended up having fabricated a Borla dual out exhaust. Deleted factor resonator, XS muffler with their resonated tips. Unfortunately, my gas mileage is horrible because of my new heavier foot got wanting to listen to the nice sound now.
It is definitely not.
I was just going to say the same
I have a same-sided, twin piped Magnaflow on my '19 3.5L eco.
Love it.
Just the right rumble, no obnoxious, small pricked "Hey look at me" ramble.
The Borla is my favorite. It’s crazy how Borla was able to capture the deep tone at low rpm but the moment the RPM’s go up it surprises me that it has a a bit higher of a pitch in sound. That’s different for a truck.
MBRP the best sounding one In my opinion.
I like the sound of the MBRP

Borla is definitely my fav of the 3. I like the more aggressive sound.
I like the Borla stype. I currently have the flowmaster and drone is outta this world
Definitely liking the tone of the MBRP. I was originally thinking of going with Corsa but this might’ve changed my mind
I like the magnaflow … just something a little more than stock … subtle warm rumble
Magnaflow! Just the right amount of low notes with a spice of aggression. So much better than stock exhaust. I'm sure it will sound great on my 2.7 ;)
it will sound like a soup can on a sowing machine on a 2.7
it’s a great muffler bro it gets even deeper with a resonator delete!
