oil cooler housing replacement on a Dodge avenger (oil filter housing)

in this video I'm replacing an oil filter housing AKA oil cooler housing customer came in with overheating issues and a lot of smoke coming under the hood I pressure test the system and coolant was squirting out of the under the intake looked further and it was a bad oil filter housing basic tools is all you need to get this job done this is a 2013 Dodge avenger

The E8 and the torque wrench had me reaching into my brother’s toolbox. Make sure you have those.

Aye brotha, how do you get that outlet hose back on without it being such a damn drag? I replaced the hose with the housing but this hose is a pain

Haha yeah it was a pain in the ass but what I did was put the clamp on the end and then slide the hose on then release the clamp

Do you happen to know the size of the socket you used on the intake bolts ?

The intake bolts were 8 mm

Are you supposed to drain the car of coolant and oil ?

Good morning Brian it's honestly up to you if you want to drain the coolant halfway.. when I have to replace an oil filter housing I usually just remove the coolant hose that's connected to the oil filter housing and just use a manual fluid extractor to suck the coolant in the valley then I remove the oil housing ..but all in all you don't have to drain the coolant or the oil..🍀 hope this helps

ok, so before i replace this oil cooler on my avenger it was not misfiring but once i fixed it and it fixed my coolant problem now it’s misfiring
