    How is this not a recall yet? It is happening everywhere. When the Pentastar came out, it was touted to have passed a crazy amount of long-run tests. How could this have got missed? The Internet is flooded with people having this problem. It just happened to my 2014 Journey last week. 60k miles.

      Mine is at 80k. Had a coolant issue. Somehow the dealership missed the oil leak and now I have to send it back. No doubt it'll be this.

      I’ve been a tech for 25 years, and I can tell you that Chrysler’s products are straight up hot garbage. Do yourself a favor and ditch the Mopar, it’s going to be nothing but problems. They still can’t make an evaporator that doesn’t leak after decades of practice, now Fiat owns them???🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
      Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. If it wasn’t for Chrysler, our tools would rust!

      Probably because some dumb bean counter decided to source cheaper seals for the factory...
      And here we are...

    Yes. No one suggested replacing the collar to fix the leak. Always want to replace the whole, why not notice, it’s just a leak, not not not not working...Thank you for the video. It was very helpful

    Great video !! Haven’t taken it apart yet but the speakership quoted me over $800 for oil cooler replacement, when I had it in for recall work last week. Nobody suggested just replacing the seals, so glad to have you cover this. Will take it off and check the housing for damage, before replacing the seals. Thanks for the info, likely saved me over $200 for the oil cooler housing. Could be going from an $825 job to a $30 job 🤞

    I am not sure why they can call this housing a "oil cooler" when it's sitting on top of engine block.👎👎. Should of been made of all metal and no plastic.

    • @Punkpsychobilly
      @Punkpsychobilly 2 роки тому +1

      Well if the they made it out of metal it would cost 3 cents more per vehicle, and then it wouldn’t break! We can’t have that! This is Chrysler we’re talking about here. You know, the company with 7 out of 10 worst models to buy year after year? They have a reputation to maintain!!

    The seals between the metal cooler and the plastic base can go too, there are 4 and 1 more O-ring on the plastic base plate that goes up into the cooler. you remove that baseplate by 2 tabs and working it out.

    Great video ! I just replaced the Lube Oil Cooler in my 2014 Chrysler 300S 4 months ago and it is already leaking again. It appears that the seals that come with the OEM parts are garbage. Can you please share what Mahle seals to purchase ? Thanks !

    How long would it take to complete this job

    • @TheBarrios69
      @TheBarrios69 5 років тому +2

      I've researched it abit and mechanics books say about 3 hours. But never doing this b4 could take longer. But the money you would say in labor and the gratification and knowledge you get and learn is priceless.

      TheBarrioslbc Did you do this job on the oil cooler ? Wondering how replacing the O rings works and if it holds up. Thanks

    • @TheBarrios69
      @TheBarrios69 4 роки тому +1

      J mali I did do the oil cooler/engine coolant part and I bought a pack of new (5) o-rings but? when I bought the oil cooler housing it came with brand new o-rings. No need to buy o-rings if you buy the cooler. The oil cooler housing on my 2012 challey was cracked by the o-ring seals. There known to crack. Cheap plastic.

    I have a severe coolant leak from this part on a 2011 Durango 3.6L. finding parts on eBay / Amazon for under $100. Even $70 or so. Ok to use? It has 200K miles on it now anyway. And this thing has been killing my wallet lately as it it!

    • @SiccSideKali4Nia209
      @SiccSideKali4Nia209 3 роки тому

      Should work, as long as you fix that youll save later. 200K is a decent amount of mileage on any vehicle
