Owning a ranch seems John Wayne-romantic until you're smacked by the reality of earning a living on it, paying the property taxes, filling out all the stupid government paperwork every time a cow farts, and still having time to enjoy a sunset. But at least you get to live in a beautiful place!

This is the first channel I actually watch the adds in the hopes it will help you do an Alaska trip. A trip to the coast would be cool to see. Over to Shelter Cove then down to Half Moon Bay.

Trent, superb videos. May I ask a question.... when the Kitfox came to Europe, it had a horrific safety record. Every time you opened a magazine there was another kitfox fatality. I'm curious, was there a common factor?
Trent great video . Your so lucky getting to fly all over . How far can your bush plane fly on a tank of fuel ? Does it use regular gas ? How long have you been a pilot for ? That was nice of the Turner family letting you land on their ranch . How many acres do they have ? It should be beautiful when the grass turns green .
Hey Bob! I can go 5.5hrs so about 500 miles with VFR reserves. I’ve been a pilot for 3.5yrs now. And I’m not exactly sure how big the turner ranch is exactly, I think it was like 2000 acres or something but don’t quote me on that!
Please consider getting some old tyres, painting them white and placing them along the fenceline. It is an old trick throughout outback Western Australia and indeed all of Australia where fences and aeroplanes are not a good mix - unless treated with respect. And the spell checker is going bananas because I am using Australian spelling. Just a thought, old tyres are cheap, life is not.

Avionics, plane, upgrades, in-flight apps in use. It would be awesome to see your entire setup in one place!

This. This is what I want to do one day. Any chance that I have, take my bush plane out and just go hop different bits of land (of course surveying them to make sure that no one lives on or anywhere near the land). Would love to move out to an area like this one day so that every flight can be peaceful so I can focus on getting better at flying. Man. One day I'll get there.
What frequency do you communicate with the other aircraft on? Like 121.5, do you tune into and monitor any freq while in the bush to chat with the other pilots? Or do you pre plan a freq to talk on before hand?

Hey Bertie, thanks! I don’t actually use any luts, I just throw a similar grade each time. Little orange/teal and some contrast is pretty much all. 👍🏻 I probably should save some of my grades as luts so I don’t start from scratch every time

Hey Trent, I just started watching your vid’s. Great stuff! My plane also has the Rotax 912 and I had a question about fuel. You fly a lot of hours per year and I notice you use 100LL. I do the same thing and change the oil every 25 hours. Have you had any issues with using 100LL on a regular basis? I also put in Decalin. Thanks!

Painfully true, have some of the wolds best trout water inside of a 30 mile radius of our farm and barely wet a line.
