This channel is going to blow up. Great content and even better editing. Great to see a fellow Renoite out enjoying this awesome area we get to call home.
Dude, I'm so jealous of your bush flying life. Thanks for posting these killer videos to I can at least live vicariously. Landing 1 = Peter's Saddle. Landing 2 = Dropitin Ridge...haha. Great work, man!
Great Job Trent! Thank you very much for taking a lot of time in you video (but not too much great info and still very entertaining) to show how important it is to respect the land!
You fly like a seasoned pilot Trent, great flying, great video! as usual. First landing stop, Pete's Dare. Second one Petersen Crest. Can't wait to get bush gear and tundra tires on my 4 :-).
we use to hop up cars back in the day now they hop up airplanes. Cool. But I would have a lot of power on my airplane. not this lame as 140 hp or so. around 300 hp is the way to go.
Fabulous video - thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of it, commentary, music, video angles. I know it takes loads of effort to edit and put something like this together so - thank you very much!
#9 to vote "Spooky Pete's." Glad you like it, too. When I first started watching your tube, oldest first, the flying felt pretty wild and free-wheeling. It's videos like this that highlight the other side -- the calculation, caution, and skill you bring to it. All of it's good stuff. Thank you. Hope to run into you sometime, maybe when I've got the hours to join the Flying Cowboys.
Hey Trent...great video. Very inspirational. I was a Winter mountaineer, but an accident in the Army left me with a spinal injury so I don't do mountains anymore...I kayak instead (anything I can do sitting down!) But this gives me hope for the future! Thanks bud!
Glad you liked my video! I️ actually have a couple friends with spinal injuries that I️ am trying to get into flying, one just got his medical and the other is still just getting the nerves up to do an intro flight with an insteuctor
It seems as the first destination was sort of a bowl. So, my suggestion is: Pete’s Soul Bowl, a remote STOL landing area. The second destination, more generic: Pete’s Downhillian. Of course depending on the wind speed and direction. Great narration and vlog work. We don’t have the open hilly terrain here in Georgia. Beautiful high plains scenery in your region. Enjoy the flying. Nice touch with the drone vid as well.
Call the strip P.P.U.! Peterson's Possible Upset.. Clearly one needs be better than novice at getting outta there! great job, you make it so easy. Lord bless you and all! Kind Regards Mike
Hey! Greets from the UK/Lithuania!!! Love the vids! Keeps me thinking if i could get the licence one day as i would absolutely love to fly!! Keep it coming!!
Wow, that was nice to see - and very instructive. You are lucky, over here in France there are no "yellow" only "bright red no-no". Fortunately we have a lot of mountain fields, but it not really the same... you can't plant your flag and give the place a name. Excellent video work as usual. Looking forward to the next one!
thats sick dude!!!! in the perfect world ud be able to bring a small dirtbike with you to explore,,,or even in an emergency landing ud be able to go for safety and supplize live the dream bro
Peterson saddle" for 1st landing spot. While you were checking before your 1st landing I saw at least four likely looking spots. Your 2nd landing was at one of them. Why don't you come down to try Tower Butte near Page, AZ.
Just subscribed today - I´m a couple weeks away from my private pilot checkride, hopefully Ill be able to do something along these lines once I finally get my wings.
Sweet video, I fly here in northern Nevada, been trying to make it out to hsfi for a couple years now, there a couple spots out on top of the Stillwater range that would be killer to land on
It's out east of Fallon, there is a flat plateau out there on top of one of the mountains, I eye it every time I'm out there flying, I'm too chicken and not enough flight time to attempt it, plus the nose gear of the 172 probably would enjoy it..lol..i may have a pic of it I could send ya
So cool just started watching your videos! You probably think most of your viewers fly but those of us that don’t, I really like learning about it from you guys, somethings I have to figure out through context but some of the acronyms I have no idea. Can you try to tell us from now on what the acronyms stand for? Thanks!
The ONX Hunt app is one I’ve used for a few years now to map private parcels, and get the names of landowners, for determining where I can ride ATVs, or who I might need to ask for permission. It’s a great app! By the way, Trent, I recently discovered your channel, so I’m a new subscriber. I’ve been a huge fan of tail-wheel/push type flying ever since I discovered the “cub driver” films a few years back. I’ve been a Cherokee pilot for 11 years now and even gone commercial in helicopters, but I’m definitely considering getting some tail-wheel experience myself!! Your videos are amazing, keep up the good work! Also, just an FYI that might be helpful...when I was in Helicopter school, we used to use an acronym (W.O.P.P.P.S) when scouting for off field landings. Wind, Obstacles, Path in, Path out, Powerlines, and Sun. Most of these are self-explanatory, but the sun is a common one that can bite an inexperienced pilot. If it’s blasting you in the face on approach or departure, it can dramatically impair visibility, as you well know. Just a small helpful tip!!
Now that's real seat-of-your-pants style flying and thank goodness you've a decent pair of shoes underneath you as I'd hate to think what a boulder would do to ordinary gear. What type of drone were you using just for interest?
I watched a video a few weeks ago of two Paramotor fliers that landed and camped overnight at the second location you landed at. New sub and love your videos. *Well, looking at there video again it wasn't the same spot. Looked almost the same though.* lol
Hi, 71 year old retired sport pilot. When your age my buddies and I rebuilt old Cubs and such and flew in gaggles around Arkansas looking for out of the way strips. I rebuilt and flew a Luscombe 8A. I also built the fuselage for a two place Sonerai for a friend. I owned and flew a Navion for a couple of years. Enjoyed the complex experience but couldn't even afford the gas. Harsh reality sucks. Sold it bought and rebuilt a Cessna 140 rag wing. I tried to find info on Kit Fox kits and prices and couldn't.
Ha! I just laughed out loud when you said "Clear"...then you commented yourself. Also thought you were going to name it after you found out if you could get out!
Concensus one the first one seems to be Spooky Pete, it's a cool name, with the winds at the second one maybe Turbulent Pete? Would be nice to warn people in advance of its nature? I've not done much flying, but have a friend who is now a commercial pilot, we're both jealous of your lifestyle. I have a Phantom 3 Standard which I'm still learning to fly. (Had it about a year) Keep up the great videos, another vote for a tour of your plane video.
I used to land my 1960 Cessna 175 on the iron mine slag pile located between Carson City and Yerington. Your plane should be able to handle that one too. Land south to north only. With my old plane, "playing" with it meant no more than half fuel, no more than two people aboard, and the wind would have to be zero, or from the north. Also had a heavy duty nose wheel strut slightly over inflated to keep the prop higher off the ground. The STOL kit and Lyc O-360 and CS prop installed later made that landing easier.
Hey Doug! I believe I’ve landed exactly where you are talking about, we call it “gold mine” even though it’s not actually a gold mine. It has a couple big concrete blocks that you have to thread the needle between which can make things interesting.
Trent Palmer, i would come around the pile flat and slow, touch down and lay on the brakes. On takeoff, flying speed would be achieved after going off the north end in a slight dive. I landed there 6 or 7 times. Another interesting easy to land place is Stage Coach dry lake, or Cold Springs dry lake ( when it's dry.) There are a couple of spots to land on are the old closed off highway sections north of Yerington. I always wanted to try the one way strip on a mountain top north west from Bishop, but the few times I wanted to camp there there was snow on the ground, depth unknown to me?
Approaching my KF V build... didn’t you do a video walk around of upgrades and equipment in your aircraft? Trying to get ideas for my build. You’ve made a simple purpose built plane. Great vids. Looking forward to more.
On the last take off, exactly how close did you get to the line of rocks? The one camera shot from under the plane looked really close and I couldn't tell if it was a camera angle or not.
When it is windy, how do you make sure the wind doesn't pick up your plane and float it down the mountain (while you're walking around shooting pix)? In fact, if you land where it is windy, how can you even get out of the airplane to tie it down? :-)
That's a training lz for the guard. Helicopters don't mark the ground much but there's more traffic there than I would have thought if I didn't know better.
Matthew, grab a Sport Pilot certificate with just 20 hours, no fight physical required. PPL averages at 70 hours these days. Don't wait till then. Start having fun at twenty!
Good afternoon Trent. Do you fly other types of planes or do you mainly stay with bush planes? I have flown cubs and champs awhile back with my dad and I know there isn’t much to actually fly it. What kind of training did you do to start flying bush?
Hey Trent, just stumbled on your tube... Awesome stuff.. quick question ... While you were walking it looked like you stepped right over a potential metior ... Your potentially exploring un traveled land and your chances of finding other worldly rocks is high? Just a thought .. nice plane great site thanks really enjoyed the flight. Ed
I’m really digging on some of these older videos Trent!!! I’m a fairly recent subscriber maybe just under 2 years. So, I’m catching up on past vids Anyway, I’m sure you know that it’s never a waste of time to keep your take off routine in tact by calling out “clear prop” to the mountain lions 😂 Cory Robin can attest to that 😉 How about calling that strip “Peterson’s Pinnacle AKA Butt Slap Butte” 👍🤠👍
Great Work As always Trent. While I know it is not meant to be an instructional Video there are a lot of great tips for scoping out a new site. As for the name "Peterson's Peak"
Really appreciate your warnings about the different public lands and respecting the restrictions.
So sick of videos showing PPGs harassing wildlife.
"Peterson's Perch" - Good stuff man, keep em coming!
This channel is going to blow up. Great content and even better editing. Great to see a fellow Renoite out enjoying this awesome area we get to call home.
Thanks man! I appreciate the compliment!! Hope to catch you out and about sometime
"Peterson's Saddle" for the first one (you mentioned it looked a little like a saddle on your first pass.
Hey man. Lovin these vids. A lot different than any other aviation vlogging right now. Keep em coming!
Dude, I'm so jealous of your bush flying life. Thanks for posting these killer videos to I can at least live vicariously. Landing 1 = Peter's Saddle. Landing 2 = Dropitin Ridge...haha. Great work, man!
Awesome vid. Love all of yours. You just look like a regular dude and then you pull out all this sick flying. Totally inspiring.
Great new format and nice work splicing all the different camera angles together. Really like the replays from multiple perspectives.
Wow another great video. It was an adventure, but with an eye toward safety (always a good thing!)
Such an inspiration. You are living my dream and I won’t stop chasing it
Well done Trent... Your videos have a natural flow and story to them. Very glad to have found you on youtube! Great content.
+Above Terrain thanks!!
Wow, great video Trent. I enjoy watching your outings.
Gotta love a pilot who takes a drone with him... Just in case! Great video👍😎
please tell us why?
You are Living my dream! Super Rad videos keep up the good work!
we use to hop up cars back in the day now they hop up airplanes. Cool. But I would have a lot of power on my airplane. not this lame as 140 hp or so. around 300 hp is the way to go.
Excellent video! Looks like too much fun.
Love your videos and that you take the time to explain things & put me down for another vote on an in-depth video tour of your bird!
Pete's Punch Bowl, or Pete's Party Bowl!
Keep these awesome videos coming!!! I hope to get my Kitfox out there one of these days!
Fabulous video - thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of it, commentary, music, video angles. I know it takes loads of effort to edit and put something like this together so - thank you very much!
Thanks!
For Pete's Sake
Pete's Pucker
So inspiring man! I hope you keep flying and filming.
Such a cool video man! Makes me want to get a big tire tailwheel so bad. So awesome. Gained a subscriber here.
Thanks man!
Oh hey there

@@ctsteve1967 Jeez, don't get your panties in a bunch Sally.
Me too... The desire in my heart ...
Great! Thanks for making these. Excellent commentary. Love the drone shots.
This is the most beautiful video I’ve ever seen. Has to be hard for anything else in life to measure up to this type of flying.
osmo cam ftw!
FliteTest that osmo footage is something else.
I love the osmo to
Awesome flights. Glider pilot here, into high adventure. Haven't been interested in power till I found your passion. You know how to live!
#9 to vote "Spooky Pete's." Glad you like it, too.

First one should be Peterson's rift...second place could be earth's peak....love the vids...keep them coming....
Inspiring AMP Mechanic here, abaolutly love your videos, you make me want a kitfox more and more each day!
Hey Trent...great video. Very inspirational. I was a Winter mountaineer, but an accident in the Army left me with a spinal injury so I don't do mountains anymore...I kayak instead (anything I can do sitting down!) But this gives me hope for the future! Thanks bud!

Peterson’s Toilet bowl and Freedom Ridge!!! Love the videos!,

Fantastic video. I truly enjoy watching your vlog.

Lord bless you and all! Kind Regards Mike
Great video, thanks for sharing...love that kind of flying..
I loved the video, and can't wait to have my own taildragger. Here is another name suggestion: Petersen's windy ridge field. Thank you.
Hey! Greets from the UK/Lithuania!!! Love the vids! Keeps me thinking if i could get the licence one day as i would absolutely love to fly!! Keep it coming!!
Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. If you can reuse the aircraft, it's an EXCELLENT landing. Love your videos.
"7700 on Top" would be a good name or identifier for this last landing spot. Well done Trent. You got Guts, for sure.
Great video! I love flying like that.
Dude your videos make me feel like I'm on an adventure that I so desire to go on!!!
Cool video. I learned to fly at KRTS at Ace Aviation. It was great seeing footage of the old stomping grounds.
thats sick dude!!!! in the perfect world ud be able to bring a small dirtbike with you to explore,,,or even in an emergency landing ud be able to go for safety and supplize live the dream bro
Amazing! And how you edited the video is awesome!
I really appreciate the work that you put into to editing the vids
Pete`s Hole. Cool App never heard of it before. Great info on this vid. Thanks.
I love that you cleared your prop on top of a mountain, on a brand new airstrip, in the middle of nowhere.
I like your videos,, you are making really good adventures,, keep it up bro , wish you the best always ✈️👏🏻
awsome vid bro! "Pete's Dragon" cuz u slayed that man! Good stuff
Saddle Ridge
Peterson saddle" for 1st landing spot. While you were checking before your 1st landing I saw at least four likely looking spots. Your 2nd landing was at one of them.

Just subscribed today - I´m a couple weeks away from my private pilot checkride, hopefully Ill be able to do something along these lines once I finally get my wings.
Awesome! Good luck on your checkride! You’ll be doing what I do before you know it
Pete's Sage Flat.
Cool project you're working on here. Interesting to watch the thought process.
That was fun, a good idea that it was cold air!
AWESOME vid, glad I found your channel and greetings from Carson City!!
Peterson’s lookout
Petersen Patch. Nice vid. I'm just a few flights away from my Private, can't wait.
oh my gosh, used to party on the runway at the old Stead air force base back in the 70's
I'll have to try that on the flight sim. I have photo scenery for that area might be fun.
Petersen Freedom Bowl (a little late)... That rock was there 10 million years and you moved it....hehe Second name Petersen Rotor Top!!
It's cool to go back and watch the videos from the beginning! (Not that I binge watch or anything....)
Little stroll down memory lane 😜
"Top Of The World" Thanks for the videos!
Fantastic....thanks for the thrill!!!
Sweet video, I fly here in northern Nevada, been trying to make it out to hsfi for a couple years now, there a couple spots out on top of the Stillwater range that would be killer to land on
You should definitely try to make it out to HSF! Where is the Stillwater range?
It's out east of Fallon, there is a flat plateau out there on top of one of the mountains, I eye it every time I'm out there flying, I'm too chicken and not enough flight time to attempt it, plus the nose gear of the 172 probably would enjoy it..lol..i may have a pic of it I could send ya
Easy to find, plan direct from flx to bam, do it on a weekend so 4812 isn't active, it's off your left wingtip after you cross the range..cant miss it
Awesome flight, epic👍👍
Spooky Pete's, and I loved the video and info.
Love the flying and the well edited video. Thanks Trent! Peterson's Rest?

Spooky Pete's for the first one, and The Tumbler for the second spot!
Tumbler! Like it!!
Trent can also use, "Wham, Bam, Thank you, Ma'am."
HAHA! Thats funny
Great video man! I just stumbled upon your channel and really like it. I love your plane BTW.
Now that's real seat-of-your-pants style flying and thank goodness you've a decent pair of shoes underneath you as I'd hate to think what a boulder would do to ordinary gear. What type of drone were you using just for interest?
That was with a DJI Mavic 👍🏻
Great video thanks for sharing this.
I watched a video a few weeks ago of two Paramotor fliers that landed and camped overnight at the second location you landed at. New sub and love your videos. *Well, looking at there video again it wasn't the same spot. Looked almost the same though.* lol
Hey Trent, try these names out for size... "Pete's Ditch," "Tipping Bowl," "Petersen's Hole"
1st landing: Peterson's Pucker Meadow...... 2nd landing: Peterson's Flattop Ridge
Nice Video!
Awesome ! What is the power plant in your Fox?
Hi, 71 year old retired sport pilot. When your age my buddies and I rebuilt old Cubs and such and flew in gaggles around Arkansas looking for out of the way strips. I rebuilt and flew a Luscombe 8A. How about the Peterson Patch or the Peterson Pucker Patch!!!! Love the Videos Trent, So addictive!!!!

Im thinkin Pete's Chilli Bowl for the first spot and maybe Surf Break for the second spot. The turbulant air probably eddies like waves.
Too much fun, my kind of flying gotta to get some fat tires for the mini max
Your videos are awesome. You mentioned ground effect. Can you do a demo of ground effect?
Approaching my KF V build... didn’t you do a video walk around of upgrades and equipment in your aircraft? Trying to get ideas for my build. You’ve made a simple purpose built plane. Great vids. Looking forward to more.
Haven’t yet, I’ve had a few requests for that so I will definitely do one of those shortly!
On the last take off, exactly how close did you get to the line of rocks? The one camera shot from under the plane looked really close and I couldn't tell if it was a camera angle or not.
Good job mate!! Nice flying :-)
When it is windy, how do you make sure the wind doesn't pick up your plane and float it down the mountain (while you're walking around shooting pix)? In fact, if you land where it is windy, how can you even get out of the airplane to tie it down? :-)
I like that you live tread lightly in true bush style
That's a training lz for the guard. Helicopters don't mark the ground much but there's more traffic there than I would have thought if I didn't know better.
Peterson's Conservation Gap. Super video Trent:)
Great video Trent
Pete's Peter, lol.
Love your vlogs man, keep it up!
looking into starting my PPL, then maybe one day look into a kitfox.
Matthew, grab a Sport Pilot certificate with just 20 hours, no fight physical required. PPL averages at 70 hours these days. Don't wait till then. Start having fun at twenty!
would that be the same as a recreational licence in Canada? looking in to it as we speak. Thanks Tony.
That’s a good question, I’m not really familiar with the Canadian laws/rules
I'll figure it out, and let you guys know!
PS did Pete's Peter win the name?
Still brewing on it, and loving the comments. Right now my fav is probably Spooky Pete’s
Ed
I️ didn’t even think of that being a possibility but there were definitely some other worldly looking rocks!
I’m really digging on some of these older videos Trent!!! I’m a fairly recent subscriber maybe just under 2 years. So, I’m catching up on past vids
Anyway, I’m sure you know that it’s never a waste of time to keep your take off routine in tact by calling out “clear prop” to the mountain lions 😂 Cory Robin can attest to that 😉
How about calling that strip “Peterson’s Pinnacle AKA Butt Slap Butte” 👍🤠👍
Great Work As always Trent. While I know it is not meant to be an instructional Video there are a lot of great tips for scoping out a new site. As for the name "Peterson's Peak"
Didn't see this one mentioned (unless I missed it) and probably way too late but.. Pete's Foxhole.. Or since its pretty popular Spooky Petes Foxhole!
