Sorry, you cannot compare Blaser to Krieghoff. While Blaser is an industrial company, Krieghoff is true craftmanship where they build everything you want. Best wishes from Blackforest Germany
Bought a used k80 super-sport from Celtic guns, love it, makes me smile every time I get it out of the slip, sold my F 3 which replaced a DT10, Krieghoff massively over engineered, quite heavy, mechanical in some way but by far the best of the bunch, in my opinion, accepting we all have different views. Yes the servicing is expensive but so is an oil change on a Porsche ………
Finally a K-80 on the channel, they are the best in my opinion. I love my Parcours, fantastic gun to shoot and lovely to look at and have never skipped a beat
Well I just bought my second K80 Vienna engraved 32" and also added 32" 20ga and 28ga barrels. I had a Blaser F3, Beretta DT11, Zoli Z sporting and over the years several Browning and other Beretta sporting guns...I have to say everyone of the other guns were lacking in some way. A good friend once told me that you buy a Krieghoff and rent every other brand because you end up trading them off.
A K80 Sporter in the States sell new for around $12-$13,000. Also one of the best guns to hold value for resale. They are a little on the heavy side but are wonderful to shoot. The availability to customize a K80 is endless and customer service is second to none. Definitely try one if you have the chance. I own a Blaser F3 Supersport which is also a amazing gun.
Really love everything about your Channel and what you do. Before I die I’m going to make a trip from the US to Oxfordshire and take a lesson from your school!
I have a Krieghoff K80 myself, I have shot with Blaser F3, Beretta and Browning before. I bought it new and had it made entirely to my own wishes in terms of wood and engravings, they are expensive but once you have one you never want anything else.
Ive owned a Beretta dt11 which I got rid of after only 3 months and purchased a blaser f3 which I loved but can't stand the lack of any support with them even on the blaser site they offer zero products for it you can buy any spare parts everything has to be done at the factory. I just sold the F3 and purchased a k80 and I think ive arrived at my new favorite gun
I owned one and did enjoy shooting it. Felt really solid and mechanical. However one drawback is unless you are prepared to pay a fair bit of money for routine servicing and repair, then give it a miss and buy a perazzi or beretta. Its like everything in life, there is always a cheaper alternative but life is too short! All comes down to personal preference! There is no denying that they are a carefully engineered, intricate piece of shooting equipment!
@elizabethli392 yes kreighoff UK recommend a yearly service of your gun where they replace all necessary internal components in your action. This is done by Alan rhone
Well.......... I took delivery of mine (K80) in November 2014. I took it to my Krieghoff gunsmith last year for a service. He told me it didn't need a service yet - to bring it back in a year or two............
Well, I'm German. I don't shoot both of the brands in terms of shotguns. I shoot my Browning B525 Citori, which fits best for myslef. And that is at least the main thing. Shoot a shotgun that fits you like a suit. Best whishes
Until I picked one up and handled one I could never understand the appeal of them the triggers and the reset to the 2nd barrel are better then anything else out there. The options for barrels are what really sets it apart for me you could spec one exactly to your own taste. Perazzi or F3 chalk and cheese perazzi every time given the option I’d have a Krieghoff.
Good to see something different on your channel ! I I personally think the K80 is an incredible gun, I keep looking at them, but I am at Across The Road with regards to the price, I would definitely be looking secondhand of vs brand-new. 👍
You'll end up buying the Krieghoff at the end after all of that. As someone who's shot Browning almost exclusively one in the safe with about 125k rounds and 1 rebuild on it) but also a bit of K80. There is no comparison, especially when you want to compare how a Browning feels after 100k rounds and a K gun does, even with over 250k rounds on it.
I’ll give you one reason to buy a K80, Alan Rhone! The service and support we get from this guy is simply the best in the business! There are many other reasons to buy a K80 over others, having had extensive experience from ‘other’ brands, this reason alone for me sealed the deal. Another point to consider, the K80 shoots different from other off the shelf guns, to go and throw a few pairs through it, and draw your only conclusion that it may be a little expensive is missing the point entirely and almost insulting to the manufacturing that goes into making these guns. These aren’t mass produced guns, hand made hand finished costs money. Put 4000 rounds through one then come back with you’re review and opinion. They’re simply the best in the business, all in my opinion of course 😉👍
You want to try a K80 Parcours - nothing wrong with a super sport but if it’s too heavy for you go with the parcours. A k80 is better and more reliable than and Perazzi and Blazer are not even in same league they are along side Browning and Beretta event the F3
I’ve never tried the Krieghoff but I have a perazzi and a few guys at my club shoot blasers and I tried the F3 and F16. If I’m choosing between the 3, brands, Blaser is the one I’ll eliminate from the beginning. They don’t handle well, their balance is off and they’re very finicky and have a lot of issues. Perazzi is amazing and I love it… and I’ll probably love the Krieghoff when I get one 😅
I don't know about other guns, but from what you're saying that gun costs in UK... Krieghoff seems to be significantly more expensive than in North America, for instance... The equivalent of 17,000 quid in USD, would be not a sporting, but an ACS combo or a Trap Special combo. "Combo" means 32" Over/under and 34" unsingle (bottom single) in a super nice fitted case, with nice wood (not exhibition grade, but nice...) I've seen lots of Krieghoff guns in North American competitions. American skeet shooters like them particularly, because they have mechanical triggers, which is ideal for "sub-gauge" events -- especially .410 (they use sub-gauge tubes in their 12ga shotguns to shoot 20ga, 28ga and .410 events). The KX are also very popular with American trap shooters who only shoot singles and handicap. Grand American champions like Harland Campbell Jr. and a whole bunch of others are Krieghoff shooters. With Sporting Clays and FITASC gaining popularity in North America, we see more Krieghoff Parcours, Sporting and Pro Sporter every year... One thing I can tell you for sure -- Krieghoff service in USA is second to none. (That does not apply to Canada... unfortunately... but understandable...)
Lovely looking and well made quality gun. Not my choice for that sort of money. Like the slow still close ups of the gun David, more of this on your gun reviews please.
Your comment which gun would you choose, F3, Perazzi or K80, no mention of the DT11 then, which incidentally you haven’t done a review on to date. I have one and it’s awesome can’t fault it. I did go to Italy in the vip trip though for a custom stock and new gun, loved it..😁👍
If I could swap the 12 shotguns I currently have for a nice custom fitted k-20, I probably would. I’d miss a couple of them for sure though, but I’m kinda over having a different “perfect” gun for each hunting/competition sport. One good all arounder I believe is the better way to go for most of us. 👍🏼
A few things to note. That’s not hand engraved. You stabbed the adj stock hex hey around the butt pad, not towards the cheek piece. There are more than four chokes available. Etc etc. ‘Known’ issues with triggers going wrong?? Every time I see a review where someone gets excited about detachable triggers, I’m taken back to a land of nightmares … a Kemen with trigger issues. Krieghoff have awesome precise, reliable triggers. If you’re talking about fan firing, that’s a different issue. But besides that, walk around any registered shoot and you’ll see a fair proportion of people shooting a Krieghoff. They are expensive as a new gun, but there’s plenty around on the used market. You can take an older gun, even if they show signs of age, the worst possible scenario… barrel refinish, service and a stock and its literally as good as new. They are a destination gun. Some may not get on with them. Others chop and change and blame their tools. On this note s guy near me bought a Longthorne, complained it wasn’t right, barrels weren’t the ‘right’ Wright for him, blamed poor results on the gun. It happens. Ive had mine for coming up to 20 years, looks great, shoots great, I’m less good! Good to see a Krieghoff on the channel but people def couldn’t decide to buy based on that 6 mins. If you want to try a Krieghoff - you will. For your own reasons. It’s not a gun that needs selling of persuasion. You will know. Anyway … off to bed
Correct me if I'm wrong, but for that money, why would you want adjustability? Especially when they say it's one to keep? I would think it would be made to an exact fit and save the weight of the hardware? And I hope it comes with a bottle of scotch.
I don't know why i watch this channel, zero review really, luckily there's plenty of proper UA-cam reviews where you learn something, I've never shot a K-gun, I'd like to.
Sorry you did not like this, the one thing when I do a gun review is I say what I think and my personal filings about the guns so if you do not like this then I am sorry. Thanks TSC Team.
I have a perazzi mx8 but I’ve shot a couple k80s. I do enjoy the Krieghoffz but the price new is what stops me I would definitely buy one used. But the other thing for me was my mx8 was used but more importantly it fits me perfectly and most guns off the shelf won’t due to having shush broad shoulders.
I have an older K-20 that I love to shoot it's an older gun that I bought used. I could buy a K-80 and have had a bunch in my hand. Sorry totally agree it's very heavy I'm not getting sucked into the exclusive club snobby crap. No these guns are not worth $17K. buy one used they come up all the time when the novelty wears off. Again you are so right this is a heavy gun folks stop listening to all the crap about less recoil, drawing the target line. I'm retired I don't shoot to show off anymore that is a you mans game. All those Beautiful K-80 guns the Pro shooters use are free to them it's nothing but MARKETING!!!
Can we please get over the cost of a Krieghoff? If you have the means, there is no finer tool for shooting clay targets. I’ve grown tried of reviews of K-80s that draw comparisons to other guns. If at the end of the day the cost is to be part of the conversation, then let’s talk about depreciation. As far as the comparison to Blaser…C’mon man. Blaser feels like a barbell because it lacks mass between the hands. Well built and great trigger but shares no other similarities with a K-80.
Krieghoff is the world’s highest quality over/under shotgun maker and has been family owned since 1886. Krieghoff, also one of the most expensive shotguns that many aspire to own, uses the top shotgun engravers who are highly desirable and these engraved guns bring a financial premium when they are sold on the secondary market. The top Krieghoff engraver is G. Stoegner. G. Stoegner, has created 7 Krieghoff “Guns of the Year,” far more than any other engraver, and uses deep detailed engraving.
Do owners have their guns serviced annually as recommended. I have had a DT10 for about 10 years, shot weekly, never serviced, never missed a beat. If it were a Krieghoff I would be down £2,500 by now Comments appreciated
Sold my Italian guns after malfunctions in competition- Krieghoff cannot be beat, worth every penny- love my two barrel combo in 12 and 20 ga. which no other manufacturer makes so the weight is only 3 oz. different.... Balance is perfect, right on the hinge with both gauges- you guys pay way to much for new guns in Britain... The Krieghoff is a bargain for it's engineering and longevity...
I have shot the K80 several times but I am not a fan. For me it is the looks more than anything. Very boxy and clunky. If my Zoli and a K80 were the same price I would still pick the Zoli. I am also a fan of the looks and engineering of an F3 but they are a little light in between the hands for my liking and don't come with 34" barrel options.
Odd the comment you made about trap and skeet shooters, in my part of the world that would be the biggest users of the k80. In fact I recently went to a skeet shoot and near 50% of the shooters there were using k80s, the other half been made up of mix of everything else. From what I hear they're also very popular for skeet in the states as well. I personally own a K80 and love it. Coming from a browning I found the feel of the Krieghoff very similar (just my perception) so an easy transition. Yes they're expensive but they're an awesome piece of kit.
I have to trap combo guns 34 u single and 32 o/u and 32 o/u sporting a bit different USA we only get one chance at 16 yards and handicap not two at singles. Not a finer gun made
@richardtimms8733 I shoot clays the S05 is a hand made clay gun , SO6 is a game gun and the SO9 is also a game gun all these SO grade guns are bucket list .
If I had an extra $18k I’d add it to the kids college fund, then guilt trip them because of the sacrifice I endured thus buying me new Lexus GX and a pair of Krieghoffs when they become Attorneys…. Yup, thinking of my future here.
Demoed a K80 last week at NSCA Nationals. Shot it back to back with every other popular brand (Perazzi, Beretta, Kolar, Blaser, Zoli, etc.). I wasn't impressed. Nicely made gun for sure. But meh... nothing really jumped out at me as being special. Pull the trigger, it goes boom. As you said in the video-kinda of clunky in a way. Not really my style.
No denying you know your stuff.. So what you’re trying to say is, if you had the spare $$$ to buy a beautiful K-80 you would? Of course you would!! Who wouldn’t?! 😊
I’d much rather have a Perazzi over this. In fact I’d rather have a Caesar Guerini Invictus IX over this. Krieghoff don’t appeal to me for some reason.
Champions so often win with grade 1 basic models that it proves you don’t need a mega-costly shotgun like this to shoot superbly. David didn’t actually say “this is massively overpriced and doesn’t warrant it”……..but you just know what he was thinking.
Krieghoff is not like Blaser. Blaser F3 wishes it was like a Krieghoff. Kolar is much closer to Krieghoff than Blaser will ever be. Krieghoff KS5 owns trap. K80 owns sporting clays. Name another manufacturer with as many world championships. There's nothing wrong with the gun. The shooter, not sure. Of course I would buy a Krieghoff.
A K-80 is like a Rolex, people lust after them, but for the money you get better barrels, better action and better patterns with a Beretta for about $5000 less. It's a designer gun, not a work horse and at the end of the day it's a Remington 32.
Bingo Sir! She's an old Rem 32! Old style K80 plus Mod.32 are same like Rem but improved with better materials. I have tools and parts for servicing them but an "annual service" is just a joke... Old style K80(mod.32) could have some flaws after couple tenth thousands of fired shots like pianno wire sear spring, straight pianno wire barrel selector, hair thin trigger return spring, firing pin coil spring... You can change mentioned if worried (preventive change before some serious competition for example) by yourself without any special tool for under 20$. By knowing a lot about gunsmithing of old K80 and by looking new K80 mechanism i can confidently say to people that plan to buy new one... Don't bring them to annual service! There is really nothing that could brake in new mechanism! They improved everything! So buy them and never bring them to service unless something really brakes! "Annual service"😂 This is joke for people not familiar with K80 mechanism...
I’ve finally decided you can’t beat a Remington 870. The whole idea of a gun that breaks in half is just wrong. If you think I’m crazy ask yourself if they’ve sold 11 million Krieghoffs.
Lets be real- no gun is worth that money in terms of mechanical advantage, 2 steel tubes regulated properly and some adjustability, many guns on that level now, each to theor own, i'd rather a cg personally
This guy is a joke. The craftsmanship and durability, handling of the K-80 is tough to beat. This guy has no clue - zero clue. They also have the best triggers in the sport.
Sorry but a used well cared for k80 will probably be worth as much as you paid a few years later. Send me locations of ones for sale I will buy for 2k and pay import fees
Sorry, you cannot compare Blaser to Krieghoff. While Blaser is an industrial company, Krieghoff is true craftmanship where they build everything you want. Best wishes from Blackforest Germany
100% agreed 👍
Bought a used k80 super-sport from Celtic guns, love it, makes me smile every time I get it out of the slip, sold my F 3 which replaced a DT10, Krieghoff massively over engineered, quite heavy, mechanical in some way but by far the best of the bunch, in my opinion, accepting we all have different views. Yes the servicing is expensive but so is an oil change on a Porsche ………
I also bought a super sport from Celtic guns and I have to say it some gun and is by far the best I've owned.
Keith is the man
My K80 came from Keith @ Celtic Guns the only downside to the experience was the drive from Yorkshire 😂 he was a true gentleman 👍🏼
Finally a K-80 on the channel, they are the best in my opinion. I love my Parcours, fantastic gun to shoot and lovely to look at and have never skipped a beat
Allen key doesn’t go in the butt pad like you showed, if you want to adjust the comb try the holes by the comb. (Every days a school day)
Well I just bought my second K80 Vienna engraved 32" and also added 32" 20ga and 28ga barrels.
A Vienna with 20/28 barrels. Beautiful.
A K80 Sporter in the States sell new for around $12-$13,000. Also one of the best guns to hold value for resale. They are a little on the heavy side but are wonderful to shoot. Wise man once said “ All roads lead to Krieghoff “
What kind of service may need could you give some examples?
Agreed. The triggers are unmatched by anything
@@mallardcutter7209 completely agree like a fine watch probably the best mechanical trigger out there
@dave_724 you're not wrong about fine watch! Looking at their action internals you would swear it was one! 😅
Not sure a shotgun needs an exceptional trigger, they tend to be pulled not squeezed.
Good to see something different on your channel ! I
I personally think the K80 is an incredible gun, I keep looking at them, but I am at Across The Road with regards to the price, I would definitely be looking secondhand of vs brand-new. 👍
It is not about needing, it is about wanting (or not) one - and actually there are quite some K80 shooters in the ISSF trap and skeet competitions.
$5000 beretta / Caesar / Browning
$5000 in shells
$5000 in clay fees
$1000 professional coaching and fitting.
Better way to spend $16,000!
This idea makes the best for the money I my self love Browning and Ceasar Guerini....
You'll end up buying the Krieghoff at the end after all of that. As someone who's shot Browning almost exclusively one in the safe with about 125k rounds and 1 rebuild on it) but also a bit of K80. I don't know about other guns, but from what you're saying that gun costs in UK... Krieghoff seems to be significantly more expensive than in North America, for instance... The equivalent of 17,000 quid in USD, would be not a sporting, but an ACS combo or a Trap Special combo. "Combo" means 32" Over/under and 34" unsingle (bottom single) in a super nice fitted case, with nice wood (not exhibition grade, but nice...)
I've seen lots of Krieghoff guns in North American competitions.
(That does not apply to Canada... unfortunately... but understandable...)
i shoot a k80 trap special, bought it used for a good price. it hits the clays hard. Great trigger. Like the many options on the Krieghoff web page
I did go to Italy in the vip trip though for a custom stock and new gun, loved it..😁👍
Browning for me, thank you!
I have a 725 Browning and a lovely shooter 32" barrels.
I own both and the browning is great value for the money but they simply can’t compare to a K gun
It's my dream gun. My Guerini is all that I will ever need.
I used to shoot a K80 . . . now Ceasar Guerini for Sporting
I own a K80 Trap Special and BLaser F3 Sporting. I love them both but I prefer K80 over Blaser.
No way, i would buy a DT11 EELL for that money every day of the week... EELL is class with performance.
A few things to note. That’s not hand engraved. You stabbed the adj stock hex hey around the butt pad, not towards the cheek piece. There are more than four chokes available. Anyway … off to bed
All correct
I shoot old school quality. A Remington Model 32 Skeet. The father of every Krieghoff
I had a Blaser F3 and a Krieghoff K80. Still have the K80.
3:15 Does David look over the top of his glasses when he shoots?

Superb engineering, but at a huge, huge cost. And do Krieghoffs have the ‘soul’ of a Perazzi?
I have a perazzi mx8 but I’ve shot a couple k80s. I do enjoy the Krieghoffz but the price new is what stops me I would definitely buy one used. I would and did. Zero regrets.
The gun doesn't make the shooter David! You know that!
No shotgun is worth 16k however, if you got it flaunt it, and I would flaunt it with a K80.
With what was said in PM question today , don't think we will be allowed water pistol at this rate , lovely gun but do love British longthorne.
I sold my k80 because of the trigger problems i had with it I would never buy another one lost money on the gun 😢.
The Krieghoff is a bargain for it's engineering and longevity...
it is a nice gun but I would get a Yildiz Pro for a decent price and shoot 1000s of round with it for a less than 2k sterling.
A wise man once said , " I won my medal with that gun" as my girlfriend stood there holding her Miruko!
Yeh because nobody ever won anything with Miroku..... oh wait
@@fullchoke01 😂
Huh? Not skeet and trap? It's one of the more popular top end guns for American trap.
I have to trap combo guns 34 u single and 32 o/u and 32 o/u sporting a bit different USA we only get one chance at 16 yards and handicap not two at singles. Not a finer gun made
Longthorne for me thanks! If. I ever have that kind of money for a shotgun.
The secret of the K80 is the closing mechanism that will last for a million shots
Perazzi rulez... greetz from germny
Blaser is comparable to a Krieghoff? I do not think so.
K80 is the 911Turbo of shotguns
A serious gun for a serious shooter.
"Adjustable comb..." proceeds to stick wrench into recoil pad screw hole lol
Shame cannot see the clays ?? Take a look at some of the people who shoot these guns.Speaks volumes.
Second hand Beretta SO for me thanks.
SO 5 ....
@@paulwilson7234 SO 6 or 9.
@richardtimms8733 I shoot clays the S05 is a hand made clay gun , SO6 is a game gun and the SO9 is also a game gun all these SO grade guns are bucket list .
@@paulwilson7234I'm more game by far than clay, only shoot informal clays and for instructional purposes.
You'll do it with panache with a SO Beretta.
When you say, it’s not really suitable for trap, I highly disagree, and I think the likes of theDTL might have something to say about it
If I had an extra $18k I’d add it to the kids college fund, then guilt trip them because of the sacrifice I endured thus buying me new Lexus GX and a pair of Krieghoffs when they become Attorneys…. Yup, thinking of my future here.
What about Caesar Guerini????
They are not like these guns at all that is why we did not bring Caesar Guerini into this film
Beretta DT11L would be a good contender against that grade of K80.
Which of those were your favorites?
@@wiscobuckeye Z-Sport MR and Kolar Max Lite Sporting.
Whatever gun is reviewed on this channel, apparently there all brownings 😂😂😂
Silly money for a gun rather get a browning ultra xs pro or mk38 sporter grade 5!
Serious money, but a lovely gun. I'd love to have one but alas my budget will never stretch to something like this.
Thanks for sharing i like my parcours .
Anybody using their Krieghoff K80 for fox hunting and climbing over fences. Comment below. Let's hear your thoughts.
Great gub
Champions so often win with grade 1 basic models that it proves you don’t need a mega-costly shotgun like this to shoot superbly. David didn’t actually say “this is massively overpriced and doesn’t warrant it”……..but you just know what he was thinking.
I don't believe David will ever be a k80 dealer after his review a little biased
I have had a few ,nice gun but I don't like the trigger pulls! 🙁🙁Browning XS pro for me.
If i had that money i would buy a kolar
Blaser f3 for me💥💥
Wonderfully made shotgun. Does not feel at all lively to me. To each his own.
Exactly my thoughts. Clunky compared to a Perazzi. But as you say, to each his own!
Krieghoff is like a browning 😂😂
What are you on about did you really say that?
Come on who you trying to convince
Beretta dt11
You can buy the most expensive gun but if you can't shoot what's the point.
I’ve finally decided you can’t beat a Remington 870. The whole idea of a gun that breaks in half is just wrong. If you think I’m crazy ask yourself if they’ve sold 11 million Krieghoffs.
😂 been far more break actions sold than 870's
Times are tough & challenging for your average shooter at the moment.
£16,000 to £18,000
You must be joking 😂
I’ve got a Winchester 6500, never shot a better gun. £695😊
Why buy a car when you can buy a Kreighoff
Lets be real- no gun is worth that money in terms of mechanical advantage, 2 steel tubes regulated properly and some adjustability, many guns on that level now, each to theor own, i'd rather a cg personally
You forgot to mention they rust easy 😮
Ballistol
No way give them that much money I rather browning anytime
F3!
no shotgun shoots good enough to justify 18 grand its a beautiful piece but no thanks i bet my 500 dollar yildiz busts clays just as good
Krieghoff not in the trap market 😂 you need to do your homework 😮
Don't have a k80 dealer ship just stick to your browning and betetta entry level guns
Please stop saying AGAIN...😂
This guy is a joke. The craftsmanship and durability, handling of the K-80 is tough to beat. This guy has no clue - zero clue. They also have the best triggers in the sport.
This gun is not worth its price Sell it after one year ??. You would be lucky to get 2 grand for it ..big and heavey bulkey ....
Send me a link to a year old K80 for ~£2k and I'll buy it there and then.
Haha you clearly don’t know much about the secondhand market of krieghoff if you can buy one for £2000 send them my way I’ll buy everyone you have 😂
Sorry but a used well cared for k80 will probably be worth as much as you paid a few years later. Send me locations of ones for sale I will buy for 2k and pay import fees
blame your stupid politicians and distrobutors for the prices as in USA the price diff of a blaser versus K gun rest of the world isnt that large
