A detailed and a characteristic meticulous review, I must say. Request you to review a Zoli Ambassador Regent (High Rib Version). They're coming up and would be great to see how they fare against the established names. Thank you.
Thanks Aseem, I have been trying to get hold of some Z guns to test for a while to no avail i'm afraid. Zoli seem keen but I am getting no-where with the distributor. I will see if I can renew my request as the NSS in a couple of weeks, I can make no guarantees though.
i dont mean to be so offtopic but does anyone know of a way to get back into an instagram account? I was dumb lost my login password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me.
@Gunnar Jayden Thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and Im in the hacking process atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Nice review. I’m not generally a fan of K guns but I’m really liking the look of this one. I’ve had a couple of expensive guns and gone back to a Grade 5 MK38. Met you at Azerley last weekend with my wife and two German Shorthaired Pointers. What a great day that was.
I owned two K80’s. An early model with 28” barrels and another newer model with 30” barrels. Pros: well built, crisp triggers, solid custom service Con: muzzle heavy, expensive, annual service cost For some reason my eye drifts to that dam latch. Also, if the triggers are too crisp I start flinching. Don’t ask me why.
Very nice gun and a very good review as always. Lloyd good you give me the the shotgun's overal length from the recoil pad to muzzle, without chokes, thank you.
@@lloydyp The overal length of a shotgun gives me an idea to choose barrel length as i have my preferences. Sure its not the only and most important factor to choose by but it somehow helps. Thanks.
I've done that maybe two or three times in my life where there has been an extreme difference in range in the pair. Most of the time it doesn't matter.
@@lloydyp I’ve held K80 Crown grades and Parcours. Unfortunately I’m not a surgeon and can only afford the bottom shelf 😀. I’d like the 694 but have to get rid of my 692 first. Love your videos!
I can honestly tell you that I shoot mine in all weathers and that there isn't a single spot of rust on it. I can also tell you that I clean and oil my gun properly every time I use it.
the only ones that tend to rust easily are the “coin” finished receivers. My understanding is the coin finish is bare metal. With that being said if you have a standard grade nickel finished receiver, like the one in the video, and you wipe it down and lightly oil it’s metal surfaces after each use it you will not have any issues with rust.
Regarding the adjustable front hanger, there's another manufacturer that has a similar POI design concept and that's Kolar out of Racine Wis. (U.S.A.). Kolar has introduced a fairly new Sporter that would interesting for you to review in the future.
@@lloydyp Sorry to hear that, because you'd do an excellent critique. I've seen them and held one or two, but never shot one. They're built like a tank and have a solid following in Trap. Due to the size and weight of the older models you don't see them much on Sporting courses. That may change with their newer lighter model.
Very different in the hand, the K gun is slim and feels like nothing else even though they can be 9-10 lb. DT11 feels much wider and more girthy. Both are utterly devastating in the right hands, just depends what you like to shoot.
I am looking for an over and under for trap. I have never shot trap before. I have heard not to get a budget gun, so I am looking at Browning Citori CTX. not even close to your gun hear, but I hope it will be a decent shotgun. Any suggestions for a new trap shooter?
I'm not arguing that the summit is a good gun to shoot. It is, however the action is not engineered to last a lifetime as you suggested. It just isn't. Sorry.
Just got my K80 back from Krieghoff Intl a few weeks ago from having 32” pro sporter barrels and wood fit. Absolutely love em. If you haven’t shot a pro sporter yet, you should check one out.
Lloyd thanks for another fine gun K80 is on my list I love all about this gun especially the front stock thick and full for my lead hand .How ever I bought a Beretta 686 sporter for my first clay gun I've been shooting sporting clays since I retired about 2 years ago I do like the 686 it's a great gun for starters I'm ready for another. How many sporter guns is to many? I'm thinking two is a good number. Wifey thinks there like tattoos always wanting one more...

Hi Phil. I always give prices in GBP, for the same reason Hickock45 gives prices in USD, It's my native currency. I have viewers in over 50 countries, and it's not just converting GBP to USD, EURO, AUSD and countless other currencies. The simple fact is the prices are wildly different country to country due to trade agreements, currency fluctuations, market forces etc. In simple terms, it's quicker for you to google the price of a gun locally than it is for you to ask me to do it for you.

So what's the difference between this gun and perazzi that will build you gun around you for less money?
Do you switch from top to bottom barrel as first depending on target presentation?
I've done that maybe two or three times in my life where there has been an extreme difference in range in the pair. Most of the time it doesn't matter.
How is the K80 Germanic if it was designed by Remington? 3200 I believe was the original.
The K32 was based on the Remington action but a Krieghoff feels like a massively over engineered German tool. Handle one to know what I mean.

Yes, and also Yes.

Would love to know how you go about refinishing the wood :)
Very fine wet and dry, followed by 0000 steel wool with boiled linseed to fill the grain, then hand rubbed with boiled linseed to finish.
Those Muller chokes look awesome! (Not sure if they pattern better than Krieghoff's titanium ones, but they definitely have a higher "cool factor" 🙃)
No better, just different.

Can't go wrong with a Miroku MK38, they last forever and many a trap shooter swear by them.

D. Fox I don’t understand, what do you mean “too many guns”?
