    Ben I asked you for this trick tip several months ago when you first started filming these in your videos. Thanks for listening. This is definitely the most detailed and quality trick tip on this trick in UA-cam land. Keep up the good work.

    I like it when people put effort into their trick tip.

    To nollie out of a noseslide, at the end slightly drop the tailside of your board and quickly pop it back up while straightening out, so you can ride off. You can best see Ben do this in the slow motion part of the video. It's the same kind of movement as when you manual and slightly drop your nose then quickly pop it back up to ollie out. That movement is key to many tricks, so notice it and remember it if you don't already know it. A slight drop down followed by a quick pop back up.

    How are your knees doing for your age? I'll be turning 29 this year and I've been skating on a faulty knee since I was 18. I do my best to stretch and keep exercising it. But I have days where it'll swell and be sore. In all It's rad to see you doing some technical tricks.

    • @bendegros
      @bendegros  5 років тому +7

      My knees are the best they have been in a long time. I am cautious to try not to say this in arrogance. Every ones situation is different. They used to get a lot more sore when I skated less. I have also had a torn meniscus that put me out for a year in my early thirties until I had surgery.
      Here is what I do. I try to do one SOLID leg work out per week at the gym. Squats, lunges, and a bunch of other punishing things that make me not want to walk for two days. I try to stretch after every session. I have a diet that is low in foods that cause inflammation and I also often have a spoonful of turmeric in non dairy milk daily if I can remember.
      I also skate almost every day. I don't know exactly what is working but these are the things I do and they don't hurt too bad too often.

    Tip for teaching skateboarding, NEVER USE BIG WORDS like no, you cant, you wont be able. Just because probably for someone else that trick is easier than having the previous steps. The mind is a powerful weapon.

    I always wondered, how at all you can ollie while in Nose-/Tailslide position. I had to learn that all unrealistic things from Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games are possible in real life, simply I cannot do them.

    Hey Ben how are you handling soreness and bruises? Do you fall very often? I'm back to skateboarding after a 5years break(im 30yrs old) and I find that falling takes more time ro recover than 5 years ago. I'd like to hit the skatepark thrice a week, but I feel like recovery time takes a toll on that schedule.
