Excellent tips! I've been using Cakewalk exclusively since the late 1990s and some of these are new to me and will be very useful. One question that has stumped me, tho ... if I want to delete parts of a track that contains automation, how can it be done? The only way I know is to delete all automation, then edit the track, then reapply the automation from scratch. Painful.
If you want to delete the clip without deleting the automation you have to select it without its automation.
For that, use the "SELECT" module in the control bar.
There is one button in that module which will select/not-select automation along with the clip
i just begann to make beats in cakewalk in fact its my first DAW on PC and ur guide and ur videos really helped me thx for the effort

Oh... dear. Its easy just lay down the volume automation quickly. But can be really annoying later on.
Top menu - edit - cut special. Then untick automation. This should cut the track but leave the automation.

1. pin plugin window
2. folders - find how to make folders in cakewalk
3. snap to scale - colors, but why snap to scale
4. clean audio folder to stop bloat
5. modules in control bar (top) - custom module - not bad, can add to numpad?
6. something about busses[bass] waveform preview - dunno enough about cakewalk for this but looks interesting -- seeing the kicks and stuff - side chain compression hmmmm, sound engineering theory?
7. bus peak.. - iunno the use of these but need to learn more about why

great tutorial as always! Is there any way I can extract the played midi notes if I use an instrument with its own arpeggiator (not the cakewalk built in)? I have the full notes, but I would like to use the arpeggiated notes with also a different instruments. Would be grateful for any pointers!

@@adk_studios Thanks. Sorry if I was not clear. I meant that I want to extract the resulted midinotes. You put one full note into cakewalk and the arp make several notes from it. I want to see those notes that the cakewalk actually play in the piano roll not the input note that the arp use.

Any thoughts on Cakewalk going into paid versions? Have you found an alternate yet? I personally found Studio One to be pretty good, but its pricey. Great tips btw.
This is how I see it.
Those who wnat to stick with Cakewalk are gonna have a much better DAW. Because if it becomes a paid DAW, the developers have no excuse not to make it a really good DAW.
For those who only want to use free stuff, there are other fine options.
And I have been using REAPER for more than a year. I do plan on making videos featuring it. However, I decided I will only do it after buying it. (We can use REAPER without buying buying any license ($60)).
Try reaper its only 60 dollars, 5000/- rupees only.

I have a question though. Do You know alternatives for Komplete Kontrol and Sitala2 ? 1st I cant install and cannot find solution on internet and 2nd I need to buy ^^'

Sitala 1 is still free in their website. But Poise Drum Sampler is an alternative.
There is no alternative for the entire Komplete Kontrol. But, if you are looking for an alternative for it as a sampler, then,

@@adk_studios thank You man :) Ill try to find Sitala 1, TX16Wx I have but it blows my mind when I look at it xD (im noobie). Ill check Grace Sampler also. I would like to make drums as You (at least a little :)) I did only by adding 1 by 1 on track. Im watching 3rd time video about drums I think ep. 7-8 and so far I feel a little overwhelmed but I guess after some time I will manage to do it properly.

Do you know of any free plugin in which i can drop a single tone sound and pitch it to any notes ,like a sampler plugin,so that i can make melodies and chords using that one sound pitched to different keys?Thanks

Now that Cakewalk isn't free anymore, would I only be able to use it on the device I already installed in on? Or would I still be able to install it on a new device for free?
We might be able to do fresh installations for sometime. But, I think bandlab would'nt keep the links for too long.

i have problem exporting all the project into wave mp3 etc.
during exporting, the mp3 file can be played only half
let say..my project total duration is 3 min..
when exported into mp3 file, the song project can be played only 1.5 min..
why this happened n how to measure it.?
