The release triggers are from the notes and the pedal noises are from the sustain pedal. * Winter Voices is a huge choir patch featuring 900+ voices as a Pianobook Christmas special.

The sound goes off because of the default behavior of cakewalk for midi controller values which set controller value to zero when playback stops, you can fix it either by going into preference and untick on "Zero conttollers when play back stops" but this sometimes causes trouble like you might hear some weird pitch sound because of where the pitch wheel was last set. A workaround for that is put a cc1 event in the starting of the midi note or just before the starting of it.
The only thing i would be able to teach you is how to correctly pronounce "sforzando" (straining) because i'm italian, otherwise you're here to teach me everyday with your amazing tutorials! Good job.
Can you do a video on how to use the multi-channel routing in kontakt with cakewalk? Like, how to load multiple instruments in one instance of Kontakt, send midi information to separate libraries in the same kontakt, and route the separate sounds of the different libraries into cakewalk for individual mixing please?
Some Instrument libraries have articulations like expression, breath and all that. These are controlled by MIDI CC (usually controlled by modulation wheel in MIDI controllers) which I speak about in Episode 6 of this series. If a MIDI pattern includes MIDI CC which ends in a value that is not desirable when we play that pattern again, Zero controller option will reset the value of all the CC to zero. This can be confusing as sometimes some MIDI CC value can control other knobs or sliders in a plugin that does not need to be controlled by the CC (from the POV of a beginner).

Kontakt Player is absolutely free. However, there are not many libraries that will work fine in it. The full Kontakt lets the user load any Kontakt library into it. The Player version only lets us load libraries that come with a serial. That is the maker of the library has to get license from Native Access to make it loadable in Kontakt Player. It might also be a bit different in encoding. Thats why there are a lot of libraries for the full version while not many for the player version. If a Kontakt Library without serial for the player ends up being able to be loaded in the player, the library will work only in Demo mode which is usable only for 15 minutes. Then we will have to load the plugin again to make sound come out of it again.
Sample packs might contain samples from Kicks, hi hats, snares, Piano, Bass and sooo on... No coding is needed to load them into a sampler. Sample Library (usually) contains all the samples that make up an instrument. A Library might make up a single Piano. Another Library might make up a single DrumKit. Another Library might make up a single Guitar. Sample Libraries will have a file which tells how to load the library into sample Player.
i keep running into a problem with decent sampler could you help? it plays the instrument initially then stops outputting any audio further more i find i constantly need to delete that track to create an entirely new one for that plugin to work again. sfz plain refuses to work for me. any ideas how i may remedy this?
Open Preferences Under Project, click MIDI. Enable "Zero Controllers When Play Stops". If its already enabled, then disable it. This will affect all the instruments that might need the MIDI CC to return to zero. (It mostly applies to plugins where the Modulation Wheel, the one controlling that CC plays a huge part in giving expression). If you do not want to do that, right click on the knobs in Decent Sampler, then select Cancel MIDI Learn. Its association with CC will be removed. PS - You can refer episode 6 in this series if you wanna know about MIDI CC. Its quite good to give a realistic mock up of an orchestral instrument.

Most of my time with Kontakt seems to be spent trying to figure out why it's not working correctly. Is it Kontackt? Or Cakewalk? Trying to learn CbB and Kontakt at the same time was overwhelming. Both have very steep learning curves. Life use to be simpler. Lol. But I think VST's have a lot to offer, so I'll keep at it. Thank you for help!
It could be Kontakt. The UI of Kontakt depends on the library loaded. So, it actually depends on them. If you find them hard to understand, check out videos of the real instrument that it is based on. A lot of the controls will make sense then

The volume on the kontakt plug-in itself? The Mixer that Kontakt provides when you use multiple outs? And then if I try to use expression or automation... forget about it. 🥴Sometimes when I restart the song the mix is way out. Sometimes the plug in is loud and distorted, and others it's too quiet. When I record, it has several instruments recorded into one Cakewalk VST track. Is there a way the you can split the recorded track into separate tracks to get each instrument on a separate track? I wish I could help you, but I'm afraid I don't have an experience with the said plugin. But, your question seems to depend on the plugin. Not CbB. I mean, loading different instrument libraries at the same time in the plugin. Thats what I'm gathering from your comment.

I've tried loading the new Dolan Piano instrument from Pianobook into Native Access but I cannot find a serial number anywhere to follow your example in the video. As the download was Kontakt only compatible I assume there must be a way of installing it?
Not all kontakt libraries come with serial number. For the libraries, with no serial numbers, to work normally, they have to be loaded into the full (paid) version of Kontakt.

Hope, the decent sampler libraries would slowly catch up in quality. To add some more info about the Kontakt situation, Kontakt Player is the free sample player they offer. However, they still make money from it because only libraries meant for it can be loaded in it. And these libraries need a serial number. The library makers have to pay Native Access for that. The ones that do not have serial number are made for kontakt (full version), which the user has to buy to load any library.

Audio mixing is the process by which multiple sounds are combined into one or more channels. In the process, a source's volume level, frequency content, dynamics, and panoramic position are manipulated or enhanced. The number of tracks in a DAW usually doesn't matter that much. What really matters is the plugins loaded. Some plugins can put a lot of load on the CPU. Some don't. And we can also bounce the tracks to audio clips inorder to free up memory being used. Since you asked about Kontakt, its better to have atleast 8GB RAM. And the kontakt sample libraries be stored in an SSD instead of HDD. One of the things I messed up myself is the screen resolution. Mine is a 720p display. I have a very limited real estate to have all the windows open. So, I suggest you to research a bit more on "good music production system specifocations".

Yes it has. I forgot what its called, but there are some sound vsts that cannot be used as midi unless you have full Kontakt. I has to use the cracked version for now 😅😂
We can only load libraries from spitfire into Labs. So it was not in my mind while making this video. But, yea it is a sample player. The sample players in this video can load third party libraries.
