I agree. The learning curve could be quite high. It was for me. I found it really hard to understand the concepts with all the topics being scattered across different videos. That's why I ended up making this series....
Thank you bro for this video. I couldn't record and changing the sampling rate from 41 to 48 (and also change the data thing to 24 since one was 16 and other 32) because my mic is on 48. When I reset, BOOM. I now have the option to record. THANK YOUUUU.
I thought I wouldn't have any choice but to get an audio interface but after watching this, I'll buy the adapter and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the inspirational video, I dig your channel 👍
@@adk_studios yes, for very guitary stuff is worth buying it, some of them aren't too pricey. But for lo-fi beats with simple guitar melodies I think I can wait a bit. Making the ends meet bro, the monthly battle 🙏👍
Hey adk, I don't know that you already know about this thing or not, I just found out that we can freeze multiple tracks at the same time in cakewalk by selecting the tracks then press ctrl hold while click freeze button! Done! When I found this I remember when you were freezing many tracks one by one if im not wrong
Ummm.... I did use that feature while preparing the project for recording. Infact, holding down CTRL while doing something in CbB applies the changes to all the selections. That might be changing volume, expanding Pro Channel Module, turning on them, & so on....
Hey man....can you help me ? When I am in LMMS, I can easily make melodies....but not in Cakewalk....also.....is there a way to increase the size of the piano roll and make it so that I may insert notes just with a sing click and not a double click??
I'm not sure how I can help you with melodies in CbB. May be you need to spend some time in CbB until you become comfortable creating melodies in CbB UI. You can zoom the Piano Roll view at the bottom right corner of it. To insert notes with single click, hold down ALT key. Hey man, is there a way in which we can increase the breadth of the piano roll in Cakewalk the way we can in Reaper ?? (I cannot afford Reaper neither can I afford Ableton)
We can zoom in both horizontally & vertically. The buttons are at the bottom right corner. You can also use the shortcut, ALT + mouse Scroll wheel. I think you might probably find this video on Piano roll to be useful ua-cam.com/video/R2-CsyteGp0/v-deo.html
@@adk_studios Ya, I accidentally found the shortcut. It is Ctrl + Down Arrow Key. If I knew this shortcut before, I myself dunno where I would have been
Seriously, besides watching videos, if you were just learning cakewalk, how would you go about learning it? What order would you do things in, basically a map on how to go from beginner to advanced. I've only gotten as far as being able to record and playback midi, audio, vst's. The only effect I've ever used in reverb on my vocals. I've never touched the console view, only track and clips. It's very easy to get overwhelmed and say, to heck with it. I want to have fun making music and not struggle to figure out how to snap to grid or sidechain fx. So I'm just curious as someone who obviouly knows this stuff very well, what approach would you recommend to get from here to there. Thanks my friend.
I too experienced the same feelings in the beginning. After installing Cakewalk, I spend some time in it, and after 20 minutes or so, I lost interest in it. Probably because Cakewalk was my first proper DAW. But, I kept messing with the DAW and slowly got used to it. I think it took me 4 to 6 months to end up liking music production. Also youtube tutorials helped. So, I would say we just have to keep figuring it out on our own and with other help like tutorials to eventually move past the initial learning phase. And then we will be hooked
@adk_studios I've leaned alot watching your videos. I think I need to take it in smaller bits because it becomes impossible to remember too much at once. I always find it amazing just how many features the software has, it's so powerful. Are you thinking of buying the new Sonar when it officially comes out? I think I'm sticking with cbb. I need to learn it before switching to a new interface. Thanks brother.
Just like any other DAW. We can either use a sampler like TX16Wx (free), to load the sample & disect it to play using MIDI. OR We can drag and drop the clips directly into the Clips Pane (aka Timeline), and manually slice, stretch, reverse, and place the chops. This method actually can give us more control. Think this might be a good topic for a future video. Thanks!
