I find it hard to believe PB and Neddy were the only one to fall of and survive

There's still Phlannel Boxingday who helped Lemonhope out. We don't know anything about him but from the color of his skin, the fact that he speaks German like PB and also has the initials PB we can assume he came from the mother gum.

It may have been survival of the fittest, uknow. It may be sentient blobs of gum but well... They're still candy. Perhaps PB was able to survive and the only reason her brother made it too was because of her protection. The rest of the gum could have died out to predators.
@@DarkFlash23 Yeah, PB spends the first part of that episode trying to convince Lemon hope to fight for his people. Then someone with all of those coincidences convinces him to do exactly what PB said. I am pretty sure she just dressed up as that guy manipulate him.
Kinda cool to think about the fact that the mother gum gave that can of soup to Simon with a smile. It’s almost like PB was there for Marcy even before they met.

i got a theory that the candy elemental didn't reincarnate as bonnie, but as the mother gum. this explains why bonnie struggled with her powers at first; its cus she's only part of an elemental. this also means that neddy is an elemental too, which explains how he can create the candy water

Bro watched adventure universe. Neddy doesnt create the juice. He sucks it out of the tree. Slime princess didnt know how to control her powers either. They all needed pratice. Flame princess just trained since she was young.
I’ve always thought this, especially since Neddy is nowhere to be seen during the elementification period. Bonnie’s “tower form” actually looks very similar to Neddy, which implies he fused with her (and potentially any other parts of the Mother Gum). Bonnie is merely the most dominant aspect of the Mother Gum in the moment so hers is the face that takes control of the greater being. It really makes the most sense that the MG is the candy elemental because it prevents any flaws in the story such as Neddy’s whereabouts and Bubblegum’s lack of power awareness.

Was literally just coming to make this comment. If the oosers were mutated people and patience was trying to convince the other elementals to freeze with her but they didn't this could be the result of what happened to them after the blast. Or at least the candy one.
I think that looking at the mother gum as a force of "good" vs. the oozer's "evil" is a bit rudimentary. Within the context of that universe, I think the mother gum is more of a force of that era's candy elemental, which represents "sweet" both literally and figuratively.
This was my exact thought. The Mother Gum is likely the mutated form of the Candy Elemental that was friends with Patience St. Pim. Dude had a mustache.
That's fair to say. But we've seen the force of "good" vs. "evil" before. When the purple catalyst comet was explaining to Finn, the comet said that he is the reincarnation of all that is good. And the Lich is the reincarnation of all that is evil. Probably should have brought it up in my video but yeah, we've seen this trope before in the Adventure Time universe

I think the mother gum is trying to spread her influence in whatever way she can. As soon as she interacts with Simon and Marcy, a little pink guy is seen in Simon's pocket. And just like the Lich snail we see this little guy scattered across scenes. I think shelby and their little brother might also stem from the mother gum since they can be cut and still live and regenerate.

I think the mothergum was a combination of chewed gum and the DNA of the chewers. Think about it. People chew gum, the DNA of the saliva comes into the gum, the gum is stuck under a chair, in between central heating, under tables, you know: all the places where people put their gum. Than after the bomb all these different pieces of gum melt into each other, forming the mother gum, but all original pieces still have their own DNA, meaning that the mother gum consists out of different pieces, all with their own mind. If this theory is right, this might mean there once was a non-bubblegum version of pb, that chewed gum and put it under a table during a boring class in highschool.

Honestly, each offshoot the Mothergum sprouts might be some kind of amalgamation of multiple different individual's DNA.
It would explain why PB has all kinds of crazy mood swings, going from wacky and kinda air-headed to locked-in and serious at random times, why sometimes she expresses the utmost love for her subjects, and at other times treats them as nothing more than lab rats to run experiments on. Why she typically talks with accentless English, but switches to German in specific situations, typically minor expletives or exclamations.
She's a bunch of personalities from a bunch of former humans all jammed into one being.
What if the reason Ice King was so obsessed with PB was because deep in his mind he has a place of gratitude towards the gum that gave him the chicken soup 😭

I'll be honest, when I first saw this episode years that's where my mind immediately went too, though at the time I never heard of The Mother Gum in the slightest so I also immediately thought the face we saw *was* PB and not her mom; the whole reason why Ice King was so obsessed with PB in particular out of all the princesses was because deep down in his fractured mind he remembered that moment.

Neddy is one of those cases where I'm not sure if I should feel bad for enjoying myself. The message of love and acceptance for a neuro-divergent character just has to be accepted as a net-positive against how freaking funny Neddy's suffering is.

I always thought that the mother gum was the mutated corpse of the candy elemental of patient Saint pimms time. I assumed the ice kingdom naturally formed around her bubble. So assumed it was the same for the other elements but especially for the mother gum
But then would be the father gum since the candy elemental during that time was male

The mother gum and candy kingdom isn't really comparable as PB budded off the mother gum and then made the kingdom knowing it was there.
I think Princess Bubblegum, as you said, was a force of good -- order -- but, she's more of a depictions of *absolute* order: control. It's a theme often explored when heroes/villains often go to the extremes of maintaining order over everything else, so much so it becomes villainous.
A good example of this is Dr. Fate (Nabu) in the Injustice 2 games. Instead of helping the regime, he switches sides because Braniac represents the ultimate form of order -- which Nabu, the spirit of the helmet of Dr. Fate, represents and supports as a Lord of Order
We see a lot glimpses of PB's need for control, as she refrained Fire Princess in a lamp prison, or how she limits the candy criticizen's intelligences, or monitors them with tracking devices
I mean, in elementals we really see PBs need for control.
@therandomjack961 and the flashbacks into when she first made Gumbald, Lolli, and Chicle and the Shoko flashback add context. There was a lot of survival of the fittest going on in the early days (and it really never stopped, things were just more maintained once Finn and Jake got into the hero game). And Finn was a good influence on PB, I think she would have gone full dictator without having him as a friend.

In the end of the day, her goals have always been to preserve the longevity of the Candy people (Kingdom), regardless of the means necessary. That isn't fundamentally evil; just the darker side of someone who is *absolutely* good
I think the candy element is a not a good or evil element but actually just life. Most things need one main thing to live and that’s sugar. Everything we eat gets broken down into sugar. So to me candy = life element.
There’s gum absolutely everywhere in our cities, flattened on the side walk and stuck under the seats. Likely the mother gum is all that gum mutated and given sentience in the adventure time universe after the mushroom war. Maybe there’s more mother gums across more cities

My theory from what I read from other comments is that the mother gum is a reincarnation of the candy elemental from before the mushroom war, and so it is located in the same building the elemental was when the bomb hit
a better theory is that the mother gum is the mutated elemental that did not freeze them selves like the ice elemental

I know you probably have 100 different videos in the works, but it would be interesting to see a timeline of how PB grew the Candy Kingdom from seasons 1 to 10, because it really went from a cozy village to a metropolis in just a few years. Plus the glimpses into the future when it really became a city

@@paxw37it took me awhile to notice it, because it all happens subtly in the background, but it's really noticeable in a later episode like Bonny and Neddy just how many more Candy people and buildings there are. No wonder she has multiple colonization plans, her candy resources must be getting stretched thin even with Neddy's juice (also, if he and Bonnie came from the same hive mind/body, wouldn't he be an Elemental too?)

And by the time we see the giant Prize Ball Guardian, it seems like PB went with a Plan B to protect her citizens from whatever happened. It seems like Neddy might have died at some point too, judging by the state of the Candy Tree in Lemonhope and Come Along With Me. But maybe that was why PB packed everyone up, maybe the candy people really can't survive without Neddy's juice so she put everyone in stasis until she could find a solution. The landscape certainly seems to slowly get more toxic in the future too, Ooo looks very dead in Graybles 1000. Which also makes me wonder whether or not Neddy is the real Candy Elemental (although since he and PB came from the same hive mind, they both could be elementals)
Some people have noticed it, but in the candy castle, there are in some episodes pictures and paintings on the walls of other candy people (perhaps there're coming from the mothergum). And also, in the episode called "Grabbles 1000+" we can see when Grabbles gets in the gumball gardian a living room with an other painting with a random candy person in it. Thanks for the video !

The mother gum could be the candy elemental after he was destroyed in the mushroom war. On the other hand, the elementals have to reincarnate every time they are killed, so the mother gum could be just trying to fit into the environment it was born into. 🤔

I think the mother gum was a female mutant that became the next candy elemental after the explosion of the bomb that destroyed the world (and the other three elementals that existed at the time, with the clear exception of the ice elemental, because she froze herself to escape the explosion).
What happened to the mother gum in tbe the videogame would also explain why Princess Bubblegum became the next candy elemental.

The theory I've had about the mother gum is that the Candy elemental that patience reincarnated with before the nuke detonated, is where or who the mother gum came from, like the guy got mutated by the nuke and blew up onto that ceiling and grew like a fungus spreading all over the place.
Id like to think of princess bubblegum as lawful neutral... Sometimes good sometimes bad but usually for the benefit of her people as a whole (but definitely not 100% of the time)...

There is nothing to suggest the Mothergum first encountered by Simon and Marcy is the same Mothergum which births Princess Bubblegum. There is multiple mothergums visible in the video spread around ooo, just like there are multiple oozers.

If you look at Simons pocket, when he is giving Marcy the chicken noodle soup at 6:42 for example, you see a small gum friend in Simons pocket. Maybe this is how she moved from places and eventually found the building where she could nest herself?
I like that the clicking noise that calms Neddy down sounds like someone chewing and popping bubblegum
The Mothergum also shows up in Finn's dream in the episode titled "The Orb". It is covering most of the tree house with the sky as slime and some clouds as ice.
I remember in the episode where PB asked Finn and Jake to find the Banana guard who paints on the wall, and in one scene we see he depicts the formation of the candy kingdom as well as PB herself on a wall painting . At the start of that wall, theres a comet or meteor hitting the earth which maybe hinting to the creation of bubblegum or the mothergum. Theres no proof to say that the banana guard in that episode can know for sure how PB came to be but it can be that the writters wants to hint that the mothergum maybe comes from a meteor, making them an alien race, or its a catalyst comet which brings a life form onto earth that will greatly affect it. As far as we know PB has a pretty big impact on Ooo, she created several Kingdoms, no one talks ab it but beside the Lemon kingdom, theres a very high chance she also create the breakfast kingdom and maybe hotdog kingdom, there is literally no other food lifeforms on Ooo so i doubt that those Kingdom came to be on there own.

One of the things I wish they would completely flesh out is Bonnie and her complete past and the mother gum, my own theory was something happened to the mother gum or Bonnie couldn’t find her way back to it when she wanted family members, I assumed that she made her 3 family members from scratch, but that seems unnecessary when the mother gum could have given her some, seems crazy that netty and Bonnie were the only 2 to spawn from the mother gum, so it makes it all the more interesting on what exactly happened to the mother gum
It’s a shame bc PB’s 1 of the most interesting characters, has been on the show this whole time, but we don’t know as much about her.

I have an odd theory but I need an idea of the timeline.
What if the mothergum is sone offspring from the heroic catalyst comet when it was a pink glob thing?
We know that the lich comet hit but was dormant until the bomb released him. There's no telling how much time had passed between then and the heroic comet's arrival. Perhaps enough that the heroic (Finn) comet landed remotely around that time and reincarnated a few times then after the war and lich's release mix with some mutating gum birthing the mothergum whose heroic DNA leds it to do good.
This is a very interesting theory and I like it! Would love to dive further into this

That’s actually a scientific parasite, they show up in smart ppl’s pockets over the course of the show. (for instance I know doctor princess has 1) Never addressed in the show but according to the wiki they feed on brain waves, hence why they appear in lab coats and stuff

what if the beings coming from the mother gum were meant to represent different aspects of personality traits. Like PB is the scientific mind, she does all her experiments to test her knowledge and understanding of things without regard for the possible effects they could bring. Kinda along the line of doing things to see if she can without thinking about if she should, not necessarily evil but reckless/indifferent in her quest for knowledge. And Neddy is fearful infantile innocence, when confronted with unfamilar things he looks for comfort in the same ways a baby does, he seeks physical safety and nurses
I agree. In fact, I don't even think Neddy was supposed to be born. I didn't realize it until after I made this video, but if you look when PB falls from the Mother Gum, she leaves a sort of pigtail looking thing on the top of her head. And when Neddy falls, he has the same pigtail looking thing on the bottom of him. I think they were supposed to fall together but somehow PB separated from Neddy. Also if you look at the Mother Gum when it shows all the faces, Neddy's is the only face upside down.

I don't think the Mother Gum itself is the candy elemental. Maybe it was before the Mushroom conflict, but I don't think the Mother Gum, as we see it in "Bonnie & Neddy", is the candy elemental
I think that the ozzers were responsible for the creation of the mother gum after all the ozzers have a striking resemblance to the undead candy citizens. The undead have a strong desire for sugar and I think that the mother gum is actually a collection of the original inhabitants Life Force(sugar) that bonded together to survive.
The undead candies desire for what they’ve lost their sugar.

I think the Mother Gum is the element incarnate. I recon somewhere out there you have Slime and Fire incarnate. We all know the Ice elemental was under the sea and that Simon became the ice elemental in her absence. I think the Gum, Slime and Fire helped Ooo grow and strive and they became sentient because there was no one else to become their Avatars until later on and that we see when the Ice Crown was created.

I'm pretty aure the mother gum comes from the Elementals. The liquid that comes out of Neddy is the exact same as the one that comes out of PB's hand after she learns how to use her elemental pow. Also, worth to note The mother gum and PB are very similar to the Slime kingdom and Fire kingdom. Like, compare PB when she was "born" and Slime princess versus the past elementals of candy and Slime. Even before Patience we still had ELEMENTAL KINGDOMS, which didnt exist back then. I think the elements went back to their original and less humanized forms after the mushroom bomb, and then slowly evolved to what we have today. With the exception of Ice.
The mother gum was just a reincarnation of the 4 main elements before/during/after the mushroom war which if we recall most likely came about with the green evil litch meteor
so basicaly finaly a good lovecraftian enity (considering i assume it can grow more massive more gum it eats)
There are four major elements that land on earth in the form of meteors. Candy, slime, ice, and fire. Each one has an embodiment. The mother gum is the embodiment of candy of course.
Someone did a timeline of all the major events that happen in the lore of this show and it checks out. I’d recommend looking up a few timeline videos if you haven’t already. And if you have any evidence to refute or elaborate on this, please feel free to share

I would say that you forgot the "Patience St. Pim" episode. She directly states that the rest of the elementals (including bubble gum) bought it in the mushroom war. The guy who held the bubble gum element definitely turned into bubble gum slime with multiple entities being formed. So.... maybe "Father Gum"? Though I'm sure ooze wouldn't qualify....

I like to think that the elemental office worker who had the candy element before the war got hit by the radiations of the nukes and painfully expanded and eventually exploded becoming pure gum
The mother gum has to be the candy elemental until it becomes princess bubblegum and the essence of that element is sweetness.

To aid your theory, when the nuclear blast happen earth was divided into several elements one of which is the candy element. Something too with the gemstones being in said nuclear curse that wiped out most of humanity. I forgot exactly what happened but it’s more than just some mutated gum. If you watch a lot pf the final saga it’ll better help you understand the Marcy episode was fairly new to introduce the ideas toward the end of the series. I do miss this series so much it was so good

That is true. But we can't necessarily say that the Mother Gum was the candy elemental too. Kind of like Flame Princess, she is the fire elemental, but her father, Flame King, was never the fire elemental. But then again, the Mother Gum is so mysterious, who knows, maybe she was the candy elemental. AT is so mysterious
@@paxw37 Well, the mothergum didn't procreate for PB to exist, she sorta just got seperated from the mothergum, so it's different than FP.
