    Keep It Simple, Thanks Yamaha. Carburetor is Simple to work on, Jet to your Elevation if necessary.
    Drum Brakes on Rear are suitable, Less likely to get damaged by Rocks, Sticks.
    Use Down Shifting Of Motor For Braking. Never Use Front Brakes Off Road, Especially While Turning.
    If You Use Front Brake, Use Very Light Pressure.
    Only Improvements By Yamaha would be Kick Start & Larger Gas Tank. If Your Battery Is Low Or Electric Starter Doesn't Work, You Can Always "Jump Start" motor by KEY Switch On, Roll Down Hill, Pull In Clutch, Put In Second Gear, Pop Out Clutch. Been Riding Dirt Bikes Over Fifty Years & Raced Hare Scambles For 15 years.
    This Bike Is Not A Race Bike, Underpowered, But A Great Enduro Motorcycle.
    "God Speed Your Journeys."

      Actually a lot of changes from the 1980 that I had. They were not street legal with atv tires and a gear reduction. Geared like a goat and would go places an atv wouldn’t have a chance in.

      These were introduced in 1987. The BW's were before that. They are still low geared and great bikes for the hills!

    Still no kick starter. I know, some think there is no need for it. I always like having one just in case. I wish they would at lease make a run on a kit, so the ones wanting one. Could purchase one and not have to piece a over priced kit together. I'm sure there are a lot of rider's out there would buy one. Since the bikes don't really changes. The kits would work for almost all the years. Just my 2-cents. YAMAHA! If you follow this channel. Do a run on the parts and put together a kick starter kit as an option. Big, thanks and love the channel. Will be buying a 2025 either way.

    A great bike, glad it is kept simple, but we can all wish for more. Seems like more is all aftermarket. To be fair, to push it harder like you would with a bigger engine you'd quickly want better suspension.

    I’ve been getting about 82 mpg on my 2024 TW. You can lower the TW seat height by replacing the shock with the 05 V-Star 1100 rear shock ( part # 5KS-22210-60-00) that can be purchased on EBAY. I use the TW as my main means of transportation around town and my Harley Nightster for highway use.

    2015 model . bought new in june 2016 @20 000 km
    its still running great after 9 seasons of riding - 6 months a year . - no issues at all . ( my fork boots ripped)
    its a great little bike . i would buy it again . why i am checking out the new tw paint job 2025 model
    the fuel savings almost paid for the bike
    i do all my own maintenences - oil filter ,plug , af,grease - adj ustments & its easy after you learn this bikes m
    i replaced the headlight 2x & the tailight 1x & the battery 3x thats about it .
    @20 000 km . i need new tires - brakes - fork boot covers - a shop service - check the clutch left , etc .
    for season #9 ill have to spend a little
    i recomend getting any yamaha for the reliable quality .
    its a great trail city backroad & it can do the freeways pushing it - its not a highway bike .
    at 90kmh it souds like a wild animal @80 its pushing it @70 its ok @ 60kmh - all day long - easy peasy
    its fast enough for city traffic ; not much more
    stock opinion
    changing the sproket for city riding would be ideal and road tires . it be an amzing city scrambler
    fuel economy is great
    i love this bike , its a fun ride , goes anywhere
    its a great trail bike - off road utility , its not a dirt bike , its a trail bike . fairly nimble
    its not fast , its torqie , it gives you a pull on the throttle
    great beginner bike , its easy to ride
    great for anyone
    it is a real fun little bike to own ride & its a good dollar value .
    i bought it on my cc 500 down 0n yamahas financing . 120.00 pm
    paid off half - had a 60.00 month payment
    paid it off over 5 years - almost on my gas savings .
    now im just putting the money in my pocket

      @MOBStreet83  Місяць тому

      Hey! Thanks for watching and for the comment! Yeah, ours are usually 65 but that means 85 to people apparently. I'd say the best cruising speed for the TW is 50-55. You can get a smaller rear sprocket to inch it up a bit, but you'll lose your grunt on the bottom end.

I found a 2019 (love the color better than the later models) for $4100 with 519 miles and looks brand new. I still can't belive these things are that expensive but that is the case for sure. I am 5' 10" and 235 lbs., have owned many bikes including my last bike, 1200 Triumph Scrambler XE but looking forward to the simplicity of the TW200. This will go in the back of the truck and travel with the wife and I when we take the RV out exploring. • @MOBStreet83
      @MOBStreet83  Місяць тому

      Hey John!! THANK YOU FOR THIS QUESTION!! I have also done "Top Speed" videos and this is something I bring up in them. Top speed doesn't mean jack. Depending on where you are and what you do to the bike with obviously alter your cruising speed. However, straight out the gate, stock mode, I would say that 50-55 is a good cruising speed. I honestly prefer between 45-50 but my father in law rode his back and forth to work every day for years and cruised 55 no problem. I hope that helps!
