Still no kick starter. I know, some think there is no need for it. I always like having one just in case. I wish they would at lease make a run on a kit, so the ones wanting one. Could purchase one and not have to piece a over priced kit together. I'm sure there are a lot of rider's out there would buy one. Since the bikes don't really changes. The kits would work for almost all the years. Just my 2-cents. YAMAHA! If you follow this channel. Do a run on the parts and put together a kick starter kit as an option. Big, thanks and love the channel. Will be buying a 2025 either way.
I’ve been getting about 82 mpg on my 2024 TW. You can lower the TW seat height by replacing the shock with the 05 V-Star 1100 rear shock ( part # 5KS-22210-60-00) that can be purchased on EBAY. I use the TW as my main means of transportation around town and my Harley Nightster for highway use.

They’ll probably never change it. It still sells so well it’s difficult to find a new one in stock at the dealerships and the used ones in my area are always at ridiculous prices.
Bold New Graphics! 😀 A great bike, glad it is kept simple, but we can all wish for more. Seems like more is all aftermarket. To be fair, to push it harder like you would with a bigger engine you'd quickly want better suspension.
Hi Matt, thanks man for a great video. What is the top speed of the T Dub? Here in Wyoming, as you know, two lane State roads have a speed limit of 70mph. Thanks!
Hey! Thanks for watching and for the comment! Yeah, ours are usually 65 but that means 85 to people apparently. I'd say the best cruising speed for the TW is 50-55. You can get a smaller rear sprocket to inch it up a bit, but you'll lose your grunt on the bottom end.
I am torn between this bike and the CRF300L Rally or the LS version . I might just have a buy both , lol . Got a property in the foothills of Commiefornia now and there's room in the garage for lots of new items .
Well, that is all up to you. I love the TW200 but if you are looking for more power then I would say the CRF. I've got three of the TW's and I have a blast with them!
Thanks Ed!! The TW200 is a great machine. I have quite a few videos on them and if you're in Utah at the end of September come out to Tdub Fest with us!
Well - I guess I should thank you, but maybe not - I just purchased my first TW200 and pick it up next week. I found a 2019 (love the color better than the later models) for $4100 with 519 miles and looks brand new. I still can't belive these things are that expensive but that is the case for sure. I am 5' 10" and 235 lbs., have owned many bikes including my last bike, 1200 Triumph Scrambler XE but looking forward to the simplicity of the TW200. This will go in the back of the truck and travel with the wife and I when we take the RV out exploring. Seems odd that I have gone full circle and am excited about bombing around Montana and beyond with a 200cc motorcycle- LOL.
Well, I'll take the thanks! This bike is a blast and like you I have ridden plenty of bigger bikes than this and I still smile all the time with it! Enjoy it! Also, if you wanna come to Utah for Tdub Fest we will be out there Sept 20-22
Matt, hope you can help. Everyone wants to do "Top Speed" videos over and over, BUT no one ever talks about what the top realistic cruising speed it for the TW. What speed it safe for longer travel???? Thanks for any help
Hey John!! THANK YOU FOR THIS QUESTION!! I have also done "Top Speed" videos and this is something I bring up in them. Top speed doesn't mean jack. Depending on where you are and what you do to the bike with obviously alter your cruising speed. However, straight out the gate, stock mode, I would say that 50-55 is a good cruising speed. I honestly prefer between 45-50 but my father in law rode his back and forth to work every day for years and cruised 55 no problem. I hope that helps!

EFI is simpler and more reliable.
It warms my heart to see people get excited about a bike that has not changed in nearly 40 years.
I love this bike! The fact that they haven't changes much at all is one of the main reasons I do!
Actually a lot of changes from the 1980 that I had. They were not street legal with atv tires and a gear reduction. Geared like a goat and would go places an atv wouldn’t have a chance in.
These were introduced in 1987. The BW's were before that. They are still low geared and great bikes for the hills!

Some have taken them on the highway. I've had mine at 65 for a bit, but with my weig😂ht and altitude it was hard to get it to that speed.
