      Лучший не советский фильм о 2 Мировой войне, по моему мнению. После этого фильма я много прочитала о дне Д и войне на западном фронте, про восточный знала с детства.

    I lived on Guadalcanal for 6 months back in 2003/04 when deployed with the "Regional Assistance Mission Solomon Islands". We lived on "Henderson Field" a short distance from the main battle fields made famous In "The Pacific" mini series. One day I happened to be watching "The thin Red Line" in our tent lines which had an unobstructed view of Bloody Ridge and the heavily bombed and shelled airstrip, now the "Honiara International Airport". I mentioned this to a mate sitting beside me who answered, "be thankful we only have to put up with the rain and rats, and not the Japanese as well"!

    pretty village pretty flame is a very powerful war movie made in Yugoslavia during the bosnian war, and it was such a tough movie to watch, that only 20 years after it was made, it began to be shown outside of Serbia as it was called "propaganda" but in reality, it was an anti-war film, and could only begin playing under the description and classification of a "comedy" movie, but it was anything but a comedy movie. This movie was made during the war itself, so filming it was very dangerous.
    This movie is on the level, even possibly higher then Saving private Ryan. It had some of the most famous actors from Yugoslavia. Here is the description of the film. " Milan (Dragan Bjelogric), a Serb, and Halil (Nikola Pejakovic), a Muslim, grew up as best friends in an idyllic rural village, where they often passed an unused tunnel that they thought contained a monster. But when, years later, war comes, they find themselves on opposing sides of a horrific, inhumane conflict. Milan's troop ends up trapped in a newly built tunnel, surrounded by enemy soldiers. One by one they recount their experiences, and one by one they're wounded or killed. "

    Saving Private Ryan was brilliant for the battle scenes. The Omaha Beach landing was worth price of admission on its own. The middle of the film was somewhat standard even cliched however. Script could have been from a war era propaganda film.

      I find saving private Ryan more intense after my nightmares and my united 93 nightmares decide to combine with the movie. I can tell United 93 loves me so much to do that but wow, they were so intense, thank god Normandy was saved by the passengers of United 93 since they were the first to know that me and Ryan were together so they revolted in time after knowing it. They wanted us to be safe from Normandy’s devastating destruction and we could have been part of the destruction if it wasn’t for United 93. It breaks me that the passengers could have survived

    While quite entertaining in contemporary presentation, Schindler's List is quite likely the most INACCURATE WWII movie on this list, in terms of historical fidelity.
    In appreciable contrast, Saving Private Ryan was the educational polar opposite in these terms. It also focuses a bit on US military doctrine, reflecting the dynamics of the AUS, Army of the United States (enlistees, conscripts and reservists) and the ever-standing USA, United States Army (Noncoms, officers, general officers and the Joints Chief). This structure is rarely captured in a meaningful way. This movie is where it actually was visible. There were some VERY BIG differences in the elements of our military in those days. They were likely glossed over for the sake of simplicity, but the GIs who were present and those who were there, lived their lives within this framework, and the lived-out their service lives with these ever-present boundaries in mind. That's what makes them so historically important.

    • @charlesmartin1121
      @charlesmartin1121 2 роки тому

      Yes and no. The first half of the film is magnificent. The second half falls into the category of a common Hollywood troupe--i.e. it's special mission time fellas. A captain (who normally commands a company) is given a squad and told to go out into the vastness of Normandy, and find a private in the 101st Airborne. They don't even take a radio! And then there is the 'Tank Buster P-51', a line which always makes my blood boil. The whole 'saving private Ryan' scenario is way too contrived and forced.
