      +Kevin Crisps Hallo Kevin, it is true: when athletes practise this the first time "on hands" with us, they are very surprized how many details there are to it. Hint from our side: when you do the first exercise (no dynamics), really halt until you entirely don't move anymore... then do the next step! Crazy how much power you need to generate and how much you exercise your dynamic starter systems. Have fun and enjoy. Thanks for your comment.Your M-M TEAM :-)

      Albion Aliu Hi Albion, Happy New Year! We suggest each exercise type three times on approx. 20 - 25 steps. Before a warm up run of 10 minutes and in between each exercise another 1 minute jogging. You will at the end have a session which dures approx. 50 minutes. Do this three times per week next to your normal training. Have fun. Your M-M TEAM :-)

    We did this for baseball and track practice in HS as well as college (just baseball). Never knew "why" we did it - other than coach said "DO IT!!!" The only difference is that we started at the farthest edge/beginning and when you got to the top you sprinted across, back down, sprinted across......I'm in my mid 40s playing flag football, softball, etc and i'm still faster than most of the 20/30 yr olds on our team - GREAT Video!!!!

    It is snowing here so I did this in my apartment complex. I live on the third floor and there are approximately 20 steps from floor to floor. I did the first two exercises three times and then did the last set (the speed set) 5 times. Afterwards, I went to the first floor and ran the length of the floor (about 25 meters) in sprints back and fourth 4 times (total of 8 sprints). I finished by running back up two flights of stairs to my floor. I plan to do this once more, today, and to do the elliptical for at least 1 hour, tonight. And I plan to follow this routine every Monday, Wed, Friday, and Saturday. Since it does not require me to be out in the elements, I should be able to maintain this routine regardless of the weather and without disturbing my neighbors since the first floor has no neighbors below and the stairs are in the corridors.
    I will let you know how much progress I make over the next month or so. And thanks for the video inspiration!

    We did this training today including some variations. I.e. With one leg "hopping" up and after each hop make sure that we were first stable. A great way to improve balance and the muscles that normally become tired after maybe a 2 hours long run were clearly getting tired after just 15 minutes. Will post after 2 months the initial result of doing this exercise

    For an insane variance, try the first drill with the momentary pause going down. Step down with purpose and pause on each step. Focus on minimizing bounce or slumping down after each landing. In other words hop down to the next step but immediately upon landing, stop all momentum down. Focus on a feather light touch down but then an immediate pausing of downward and forward momentum. Also, the moment all movement is stopped, initiate the next move focusing on eliminating delay.

      Hi tkointernational, a great build up would be: base run and core training up to 2 months before key 1/2 marathon / interval & fartleg training until one month before and these exercises together with race speed runs plus base runs until one week before RACE. Last week tapering with 2 appro. 45 minutes base runs... that will do the job. GOOD LUCK! Your M-M TEAM :-) (if you need more details, contact us via facebook.com/MOVEMENT.net

  • @FoliFlipper
    @FoliFlipper  11 років тому

    Hi Yo Joe, this combination of dynamic exercises will help involve your fast twitching muscles (your body has slow & fast twitching ones). They are to a great part responsible for fast and dynamic movements and help guide and stabilize your dynamics whilst running. If these are trained (as in these exercises) they will support your basic coordinative running pattern. So "yes", they SUPPORT your running speed and when executed regularly, they will result in speed. I hope that helped. F.Behrends

    • @FoliFlipper
      @FoliFlipper  7 років тому

      Yes, in this way your nerve system learns to trigger new intra-muscular pattterns. The combination of muscles working at a time, are optimized. The result is higher efficiancy and contraction speed. Have fun. Your M-M TEAM :-)

Check out this drill: ua-cam.com/video/Ysd7EcWrvGw/v-deo.html It will improve your dynamic & strength endurance. Apart from that do lots of SHORT SPRINT bursts of about 10 - 15 metres. As winger you will need to train explosive speed: get fast very quickly. Therefor: check the drill we added in the link PLUS short and intense sprint boosts. We hope this was helpfull. So TIPP of us: do a lot of short and explosive exercises with direction changes. You need to get your FAST TWITCHING muscles working better. Those are the ones (beside others) on the outside of your calves. So check our chanel the next few days and we hope we will have some cool and new exercises for you. All the BEST... your M-M TEAM :-)

  • @FoliFlipper

    Hi 172Break, this combination of exercises is good for the dynamic endurance and the intra muscular coordination of your calve muscles. It actually involves all muscle combinations needed to run with less impact when jogging or running. It helps your legs to function as a "spring system" and avoids hard impacts on your ligaments. It is NOT a stretching exercise! We suggest to do a 15 minute warm up session before. Kind regards Folkert Behrends CEO & Head Coach MOVE-MENT

      Hi Jizzy, as always it is a balance of many things: diet (or better a natural nutrition habit) will help your weight and energy levels to be in a good place. This will work well for all exercises as your joints and muscles don't need to over perform. This exercise will help your dynamic endurance. You as hockey player could also add this shown exercise: ua-cam.com/users/edit?o=U&video_id=Ysd7EcWrvGw It will speed up your muscle coordination speed. We hope this is helpful. @FoliFlipper  10 років тому

      Hi dylantmobile, it will help but it is not the main goal of this exercise. If you want to develope a "speed boost", you need to exercise the following components: stride dynamics, anaerobic capacity tolarance and ground contact times of the feet. For the contact times check REAL KILLER exercise for running dynamics / for dynamics do strides from slow & short to fast & long / for anaerobic capacity do 400 or 800m series at a speed where you notice you are above "threashold". (you will notice braething very hard). Then add these three components into your weekly runs and train these speed "boosts". We hope this was helpful. Your M-M TEAM :-)

      @rmalikrayanmalik 9 років тому +6

      Your a future sprinter bro. Dont worry about your stamina. I do the 100 in 13 seconds and im 13. One 400 metre kills me but thats normal. You need more fast twitch muscles rather than slow twitch.

      CFOG Illusion keep it up, 13 seconds for a 1 3year old is pretty good. im 15 and i run an 11.4. just keep at it, but make sure you incorporate distance running and stamina workouts at least once a week, but dont overtrain. have an off day once and week and keep your diet healthy and youll be good.

    what do you recommend for running 1.5 miles in under 12minutes? For a beginner like myself? Thanks, much appreciated.

    • @thedonnjohn
      @thedonnjohn 8 років тому

      I've ran track for a little over a year now and my initial mile time was 8:51 ):Now I run a 6:07 mile and a 9:48 1.5 I have a great coach and if you want yo get faster, condition yourself. Go for 20 minute runs and then increase as you see results. Another tip is to work on your core abdominal and legs. Legs and lungs are the most important things in running. Make sure you aren't injured or you aren't pushing yourself too hard. Know your limits, but try hard at the same time. Good luck

    • @thedonnjohn
      @thedonnjohn 8 років тому

      By the way work on your breathing pattern ao you won't lose energy and air quickly. That would cause you to stop and your main objective is to continue until your workout is complete

    • @FoliFlipper

      Hi Michael, for FOOTBALL COMBINE do the following: warm up jogging with 10 x 50m dashes (maximum speed) - the exercises on this video doing each type of exercise 5 times. Directly after each exercise you do a 60m "all in" dash and continue with the following exercise - cool down. Do this three times a week. That should do the job. Your MOVE-MENT Team :-)

  • @FoliFlipper
    @FoliFlipper  11 років тому

    Hi ashwin rajesh, If you want to improve your sprinting there is one very underestimated component you can train: your MAXIMUM POWER. This is done in a gym with weights as the muscles in charge for maximum power are the same as the ones for absolute speed. BUT: as your muscles are still in growth, be careful on that. I would suggest to do series of "under distances" (50 - 70 m dashes) at maximum speed and "over distances" (120 - 150m) at 90% of your max speed. Have fun F.Behrends

      O Fenemeno Hi Fenemeno, it is not the tip toe. It is the middle and front foot. Avoid only using the tip toes as it will over demand you toes themselves and also your calve muscles. The pushing up onto the next step hight is done by the ancle. We hope this was helpful. Your M-M TEAM :-)

    @plocktontr 10 років тому

    would you recommend also for mid distance or long distance runners?

    • @FoliFlipper
      @FoliFlipper  10 років тому

      Hi Plockontr, YES indeed! Try the following (we do this with our athletes with huge success): warm up 3 km easy - 3 x (exercise "no impuls" - 500m run) - 3 x (exercise "doing" - 500m run) - 3 x (exercise "speed" - 800m run) - 3 km cool down. You will notice that you will be running each 500m faster than the one before without having to think about it. By doing so you train your "dynamic endurance" which leads to faster running: STRIDE LENGTH + STRIDE SPEED + SHORT GROUND CONTACT TIME = DYNAMICS = SPEED. Hope this was helpful... Your MOVE-MENT Team :-)

      Hi Doriesep6622, we can only asume.. but it seems that the others make more DISTANCE per STRIDE which will mean that you have less dynamic per step. Try this video and please combine it with a true "dynamic boost" exercise as on the following link. Your potential will be to put more dynamics and rebound in your step. Enjoy... your MOVE-MENT Team :-) Link: AWESOME exercise for better running dynamic, real killer!
