Thanks for sharing the video. I've had fura that contains sugar. At what point does the sugar or honey go in and for how long can fura last on the shelf?
@@jessietule2081 I have never had fura that is made with sugar so I am not sure. Fura should be refrigerated after a day or two. You can refrigerate it for up to a week or freeze it for months. Thanks for watching.

@@mehriean_o4402 Thank you so much, you are very kind.
I subscribed because of this Fura. I've been wanting to learn how to make this because I love Fura but i don't know how to make this. Thank you for this simple method especially for those away from home❤❤❤❤❤.
Thanks for watching and subscribing. I am glad that it was helpful.
Wow this is amazing, thank you so much for sharing. How long does it last?
Any time. It lasts longer if you freeze it. But it can last up 1 - 2 weeks in the fridge. Thanks for watching.
You really take time to prepare it good Job 👍 Well-done
Thank you so much 😊
I will try and make mine❤
My favorite!!!
Thanks for watching.
My fura came out perfect, thank you
Wonderful! I am glad it came out perfect. Thanks for watching.
perfect
Thank you
I am doing it tomorrow thanks
Sounds good. Thanks for watching
You remain me my days in Kaduna
Glad to bring back those good memories. Thanks for watching.
Like it
Thank you
Love how detailed this is. I’ll try it before the end of the week. The fura I buy is always sandy😭😭😭😭
I feel your pain. Millet always comes with sand and it is very tedious to separate them that's why it is better to do it yourself. Thanks for watching.
Yummy with yoghurt❤
Yes indeed
You just got you a subscriber 👌👌 I have got different brands from the Asian shops admist COVID but never to got the time to fix one, I just buy and pile-up🙃🙈
You brought back memories omg!!!
Growing up in the North was the best thing that happened to my teanage years specifically J-Town(Jos) ❤️ ♥️ 💕 💙 💖

I love Dambu, Imma serch through your video, I hope, I find a dambu recipe and steps.
Good job!!
Love this vibes🥰
Thanks so much. I don't have a dambu video right now but I will make one when the time is right. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for the recipe. How is it preserved and how long can it keep?
You can refrigerate it for up to a week or longer and also freeze it for more than a month. And if you decide to freeze it, thaw it before microwaving it. Thanks for watching.
I will do mine o
When u use the fufu method it stays softer for long and easy. Wel done dear
Thanks for the tip
Your voice makes it inviting 😅❤
Thanks so much!
It goes well with peanuts too
So I have heard but have never tried it.
Thanks for the recipe, can it be bottled
Yes you can. Thanks for watching.
When I saw the word Fura I was so excited. A friend gave me just a little bit of the drink in Benin city over thirty years ago, I have never stopped lusting for it, and wondering how to make it. Now I can search for millet from where I am in us to fulfill my desire. Thanks for your inspiration. It's the nicest drink I have ever had. Is it already packaged/sold, where can I buy
I do not sell food. You can try to make it yourself and I promise you that you will love it. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for this. Please how long does this stay in the fridge?
About 1 week. Thanks for watching.
Excellent
Thanks
I myself I was born in Kano by Ogun State parents, anytime I’m Nigeria I go to Lagos mainland at the mosque to have Fura. I like Fura with yogurt. Thank You for sharing how to make.
That's awesome. Thanks for watching.
Detailed explanation! But pls, is there no need to wash the millet before grinding it?
You can wash the millet before grinding it because it is sandy. However, mine is not that's why I did not bother doing it.
I need to try it 😂 thank you ma
You should because you will really love it. Thanks for watching.
I subscribed .. my question is.. some people say u have to leave the thi for two day.is that necessary
I don't think it is necessary except you prefer the fermented taste.
Wonderful. But how do you preserve the remaining furs
You can refrigerate them for up to a week or freeze them for months. Thanks for watching.
Nice, can I use date to substitute for sugar
Yes you can. Thanks for watching.
This is the very first time I am going through detail video like this. I say God bless you.
So nice of you. Thank you!
sannu da aiki, fura da nono gaskiya duniya ne.
Na gode.
Thank you for the video, very instructive. Goodevening ma'am,however why are the balls dusted with uncooked millet after cooking for one hour? Is it just to get a perfect ball and for separating with ease? Also how healthy is it to eat uncooked millet? Will the millet be okay if the dry millet power is not used to coat them? Thank you ma'am . I have also subscribed to your channel.
Thanks for watching and subscribing, I truly appreciate it. Let me start answering your questions by stating that this is how fura is done traditionally. It is cooked for a long time so that it cooks evenly. If you have ever seen the middle of fura that is not cooked through, you would understand by it has to be cooked through. Secondly, it is dusted with millet flour to prevent it from drying up. So the flour seals and protects it, moreover, it is a very small amount. But if you are worried about the raw millet flour, you can skip that part. There is a popular Ghanaian drink known as zomkom, it looks like kunu. This drink is made with raw fermented millet starch. So I don't think it is harmful. I hope this answers your questions.
Thanks for sharing, how do you store the rest and for how long?
Thanks for watching. You can refrigerate them for a week or freeze them for months. I normally refrigerate my leftover and they don't even last a week in the fridge before they are gone. You can freeze them and when you want to eat them, you could leave them out to thaw or microwave them for 1-2 minutes.
@@SpicyDeliciousGoodness thanks
Wow I’m definitely trying this. Thanks for sharing 👍
In Togo as well
Good to know. Thanks for watching.
Amazing recipe 😋 thanks for sharing
My pleasure 😊. Thanks for watching.
It looks really good and nice, but do you have to deep the fura into the yoyo before you can eat it ?, cause i really feel like trying it out
I don't know a lot of people that would eat fura by itself because it is enjoyed when you add yogurt or milk. Thanks for watching.
@@SpicyDeliciousGoodness it's my first time of seeing it, so i wanted to know if you drink the yoyo with it or simply deep into it with the fura
Does it mean you don't have to ferment it ? And can it be steam instead of cooking?
I have seen some people ferment it but you don't have to. In my own opinion I think that they ferment it because they add regular milk instead of yogurt. In Nigeria, we add yogurt instead of regular milk that's why the fura is not fermented. I have never steamed it so I am not sure if it would work because it has to be cooked through. But you can give it a try and see if it would work. I am just thinking of how long it would take to steam it. Thanks for watching.
I will try this method. Having been craving fura for a while now. You did not add spice to it? Is there a reason? Thanks will let you know
I added spices and that tells me that you did not watch the full video. Watch it from beginning to end and you will see the spices I used.
How can I use 2 substitute sugar?
You can use any sweetener of your choice. I don't know if it would alter the taste though because I have only used sugar.
Can I use Holland yogurt
Yes you can. Some people even use peak milk
❤❤❤
Thanks
Good luck
Thank you
Can you freeze them?
Yes you can.
😊😋👍👍👍
Thanks
What is the name of the millet and the spices used
Should I assume that you did not watch the video? All the information you need to know is in the video.
How many days takes fura to spoil
You can refrigerate it for up to a week or freeze it.
Bora ungepika kama uji tu ❤ni rahisi zaidi...asante sana
I don't understand your language but thanks for watching and commenting.
Swahili language from Tanzania 🇹🇿🇹🇿🇹🇿
@@shifaaal-baity4503 I thought it was a Ghanaian language because of the asante sana but good to know. Thanks again.
Asante sana thank you so much in swahili ❤❤😍
@@shifaaal-baity4503 Thanks for teaching me Swahili. At least I now know a phrase in Swahili.
I wannnnnnntt😛😛😛😭😭😭😭
I know. It is really tasty. Thanks for watching.
Did you actually coat the furniture balls with raw millet residue?
Yes I did.
I think cooking it as fufu is much easier. I also saw someone left it ferment for 2 days before cooking it. Is this okay? Why the fermentation?
That style of making fura is Ghanaian method. Nigerians make it the way I made it. Nigerians don't ferment the fura and they use yoghurt instead of plain milk. While Ghanaians ferment the fura and use plain milk. The bottom line is sour taste. Nigerians get it from the yoghurt while Ghanaians get it from the fermented fura. Thanks for watching.
Fermenting the millets could lead to intoxication
How long does Fura last
It can last up to 1 week or longer in the fridge and months in the freezer. Thanks for watching.
What are the nutritional value?
I really do not know the nutritional value. You can search the internet for tools to calculate it. Thanks for watching.
For those who wants to loose weight, can they take thes.
I don't think so. Though millet is rich in nutrients, it also has more carbohydrate and you also need sugar to sweeten it.
And creamy with the nono(milk)
Yes
Which boarding school you went 🤔
I am not sure why you are asking
😮 i think only we😊 fulani know how to do it 😅
Nobody is dragging anything with you.
She claimed that "only Fulani know how to do it" . That means she didn't know its origin.
The original name of this meal is "HURA" not "fura" . It originated from Hausa farmers. They mixed it with "nuono"/kindirmu" which means yoghurt , bought from Fulani women. In exchange, the Fulani would buy from the Hausa women the "millate balls" which is called"dawo" in hausa language.
When dâwo is mixed with nuono/kindirmu , it becomes HURA.
Nowadays, most people call dâwo and the mixture as hura.
Spicy and Delicious Goodness, this is just to highlight about the origin and the original name of the meal against the unfounded claim made by someone.
Highly appreciate your efforts.
@@aminuabubakar2498 Thanks so much for the information, you have really enlightened me. I thought that fura is a fulani delicacy since they mainly sell it, And because of how intertwine Hausa and Fulani are, it is very difficult for outsiders to separate the two cultures. I know many differences between the two but when it comes to food, I just assume that they eat similar food. What you said makes a lot of sense. Thanks for letting me know and I truly appreciate your input. Thanks for watching.
In sudan called gado gado
