Kmac2021 - “Telecasters can’t djent”
Connor McInerney And Slayer's 'Pride in Prejudice'
Fuck yeah this one's awesome as fuck
Kmac the legend
That song is legit as fuck
Love that riff
Drop B is the best tuning for me. It's got that deep, heavy, low end without being muddy, and it's still bright enough on the high end for great cleans and solos.
the heaviest riff was you listing off patrons at the end. Top 10 grindcore songs of all time
WOAH cuestar watches the same metal channel as me?! WILD! I’ve been watching both you and nik for ages!
Aha hell yee!

Your videos are literally the only reason I make it through monday... also they're conveniently uploaded just as I get home from school😂 keep up the amazing work🎸❤
Glad you enjoy them! :)
I was waiting for one Machine Head riff. I wasn't disappointed!!
Alonso Ponce same here!
machine heaf riffs disappoint me...
Glad oyu liked it!
Alonso Ponce haven’t watched the vid yet but hopefully it’s halo. I live that song
heck yeah. Not disappointed at all. Love that he added a not well known slipknot song
Drop B? Don't you mean Drop 🅱️?
Also, Drop D and Drop C# next maybe?
Definitely need some drop C# riffs
@dagerg1234567891 b slow down there buckaroo

@@dmitriofficial3552 What the fuck is a standard tuning?
So many old-goldies. Now I feel like listening to the Zombie EP.
J. Cobb How about Blind Witness too though?? fucking throwback

I wanted him to do Lisbeth but I guess he was tired of it after doing the cover a while ago
@@garrett3951 Yeah. I think the older songs are making a comeback too.
literally me before clicking on this video lmao
Oceans Ate Alaska have excellent riffs. Underrated band.
Yeah they're crazy!
I used to play Xbox (Gears of War) with the guitarist, James. Still have him on Facebook but dude is way to busy nowadays to chill haha.
I used to talk to him and ask for tips when learning their songs, as they had no tabs back then 😂
Particularly their drummer, he is too OP!
Hey, man would you ever consider making a video where you show your process of recording guitar and programming drums? By the way, I"m loving the direction the channel is going.
Thanks Zachary! I'll put it on the to-do list :)
@@NikNocturnal
Yeah, that would be epic!
I agree!
BLIND WITNESS, BRO!!!
Also For Today's Break The Cycle was a great addition. Sweet!
what does that mean bro :D ? @@kssael
Thank you!
@@kssael haha awesome :D Doesn't sound rude at all :D
TABARRR NAAAAHKK :D CHUGGGGG
Ok nik did you see the thing bury tomorrow is doing? Basically they are picking a drummer, bassist, lead guitarist, rhythm guitarist, and vocalist to do a live cover of their song Black Flame. They're going to pick the people they think are the best on UA-cam who did a cover. You'll also get to meet the members as well and work with them. You have to try my guy.
Damn that makes me wish I knew had to play an instrument lol
Ooo I'll check it out! :)
Just when I thought you couldn't get any better, you include a Sevendust riff. Fucking hell you're amazing.
I loved how you featured old Architects but then I was more impressed by Blind Witness. Representing some older Canadian metal, good job dude 🤟🏼
Props for having Bleed From Within in this! Hands down my favorite band
Thank you!
3:22 Bleed From Within? *it's called a bruise*
Mudvayne
YES, did not expect Mudvayne, well played sir! I'm just gonna put this out there, I wouldn't mind if you did a full cover of Dig.
*Slipknot has joined the chat.*
Yet not a single Slipknot riff
@@RDbodybuildingreardelt ahem AHIG
Lmfao for real. They’re the best 🤘🎸
Before I Forget is drop B 101
@@ButterSticks8 def not
Awesome array of metal riffs homes. All artists that I know for a fact play in, Drop B. Which is, my selective tuning as well. I jus noticed, how quickly you're gaining subs. Dude, you've put out a huge amount of content in a short period of time. And it's paid TF off. Congrats, nikk. You deserve it. Keep kicking ass.
Thank you for the kind words Dustin! :)
Also drop C# is dope, I know that Blessthefall uses that a lot, also enter shikari uses that for Sorry you're not a winner.
Of Mice & Men uses it a bit
trivium has some dope c# riffs (my favorite being strife)
A lot of old Linkin Park is drop C# as well
Attack attack
Memphis may fire
*monster sipping and Five finger death punch noises Increase aggressively*
The Attila one caught me off guard. I actually like that song
Didn't realize they tune that high
The instrumental is bomb, lyrics kill it for me, that entire album kept making me cringe.
Especially the "orgasm breakdown"
@@blackenedizzycore I just like the album for the heaviness. I don't really pay attention to the lyrics for obvious reasons. It's just one of those bands fun to listen to. I do enjoy his vocals though
Six-Gun Music they used to tune higher than B, They used to play in Drop C#
@@BlackRedconversion Don't they mainly play in A# now?
Sevendust boiiii, you know it's seriously needs to be on here though, the main riff from Family System by Chevelle.
Hell yea, Wonder What’s Next is heavy too
Family System is one of my favorite riffs hands down.
It’s nearly a slam riff.
I could have swore chevelle played in drop A 😅
@@petertubbs6570 they play in Drop A# mostly on This Type of Thinking, Drop B mostly on Wonder What's Next, Drop C on Hats Off To The Bull and La Gargola, there are some outliers though
Yooo is a full cover of pray for plagues possible? It slaps mega hard
Maybe one day my friend
Nik Nocturnal make sure you get Andy to do the vocals I thinks he’d kill it 😎
Bro you did Oceans Ate Alaska and Veil of Maya!!! You are the literal legend bro! Eclipse is an underrated Veil of Maya album!
Of course, those are the first few I actually picked for the video :)
Honestly parkway drive doesn’t get as much credit as they should when it comes to guitar work. Glad to see them on this list🤟
They slay!
KWAS
ESPECIALLY boneyards. That fucking song is god tier.
Righhhht omg Jeff ling and Luke kilpatrick are absolute gods
Same goes to Machine Head, don't hear many people praise them... At least here...
Should just be Jim Root and Mick Thompson riffs
Gematria, Sulfur, The Blister Exists, etc etc
I already did a heaviest riffs: Slipknot edition :)
Nik Nocturnal I know, I need more
Drop B(lyat)
Drop C(yka)
Drop D(a nu nahui)
Blin!
Drop A(bassatsa)
Ohhhh, Drop B!! I get it!
Because a BEE goes Buzz Buzz!
Or fret buzz :v
dope! nice playin' as always and nice selection of heavy riffs
Thank you!
Dude this is the best one yet. This is an epic list!!! Devildriver, miw, mudvayne, Attila, parkway drive?! Yaaaas. Much buzz.
Only thing I have to ask is where's the fear factory?!
It's amazing the energy you transmit in every song.
Mudvayne!! That song brings me way back haha such a quality video as usual my dude! Loads of sweet riffs!
Heaviest Riffs: Drop B
Rough translation: 90% of Slipknot songs
The amount of bangers this time around, holy shit. Punisher, Dig, Caves, Boneyards, Blood Brothers, Outnumbered, Martyr, The Black, and Praise (So literally the entire video minus like 4) all sounded sick. Instantly my favorite in the "Heaviest Riff" series. I say you do Drop D or Drop C# next!
Soilwork's "Long live the misanthrope" has a couple of really heavy riffs in it. Especially the prechorus
i love to watch Nick videos not only because his supercool playing and well done sound production. I love it also cos his music knowledge is very wide. I discovered a LOT of good bands because of him!
thank you Nick!
For Today was so good live. I was lucky to see them before the broke up.
Lucky you. By the time I discovered them it was a bit late. They're absolutely brutal.
1:45 love that transition from all hope I shone to pray for plagues...it felt like a single song at first
Pray for plagues & It lives in me..my fav.
@thenathanielk yeah man count your blessings will always be the best album by bmth. "Bleed from within" is too much underrated. I personally think 'Uprising' was one of the best album in deathcore but don't know why they aren't that famous.
*Sees video* Oh boy, another top riffs video.
*Hears Punisher as the first song* Goddammit I'm sold
Great list dude!
I appreciate that Mudvayne riff bro👊 I wish they returned
As much as I personally would love that at the end of Mudvayne chad grays voice was so far gone it didn’t even sound like Mudvayne
@@forsakenalpha2012 Big Facts! I actually really abhorred all of his vocal stylings on anything after LD50! Not to mention their overall musical direction as a whole just decidedly took a shit with 'Lost and Found', for it's vastly commercial sound and shallow appeal was utterly atrocious when coming from the deep cutting & psychologically explorative tracks featured in LD50!
Ask, and ye shall receive. They recently got back together.
Haha I knew it would start with Veil! Every riff Marc pumps out hits HARD.
Hell yee!
my favorite tuning)
1:17 bro, you put one of my favorite Christian Metalcore bands in the vid??? LET’S GO!!!!!! 🤘
(Also one of my favorite songs by them)
You know it's a Machine Head's song when you hear those natural harmonics
Makes me insanely happy that motionless in white and slipknot were in there. Love your videos man.
Thanks Adam!
Drop B is one of my favorite tunings! I didn't know Architects played in Drop B. I thought it was always Drop B, with the low B tuned to F#.
Great video! My favorite Drop B song is 'Closure' by Chevelle.
Favorite Drop B Riffs:
Bring Me The Horizon - Pray for Plagues
Fight The Fury - Dominate Me
"buzz buzz"
yeah man, liked subscribed and fukken saved. thanks for the amazing content.
Hold up hold up hold up-
Attila, but no Bury Tomorrow?
Sneering Imperialist Hate Attila all you want, but their guitarist is amazing
@@dylanlikesoaa5673 Wasn't even hating on Attila, they're cringey, but I don't mind them. I was mostly just lamenting the lack of any Bury tomorrow riffs as those guys have some pretty damned awesome riffs and it's all in drop B IIRC.
Sneering Imperialist Yo I’m sorry if I came off as rude or whatever, I for sure didn’t mean it like that!! Bury Tomorrow is definitely super sick, you’re definitely right, I just think Attila’s guitarist is often overlooked and he’s actually pretty good :)
They were on my bigger list
Question for FAQ (don't know it this is the right place for it, but I'll try it anyways, hahah): How do you keep up with all the different tunings you use for your covers? Do you change the string gauge for each tuning or something?
Heaviest riffs: Drop Z, just remove all strings
I LOVED how you slowed down praise!
Your Russian/Slavic accent is flawless
It's been years since I listened to Mudvayne! 😮 "Dig" is one of their best. Also, "Pray for Plagues" is the best BMTH. Awesome video, Nik! 🤘
Great list, especially BMTH. Their old stuff is the first that comes to mind for me when I think Drop B
Same, that and Machine Head, Halo is probably my favourite drop B riff
count your blessings one of the greatest drop b albums preach
@@jackmelenewycz3861 Damn Straight
@@blackenedizzycore I di a few of their songs, but never really got into MH.Getting into lower tuned band I went straight from Slayer's God hates us All to Blood Red Throne's Altered Genesis, kind of skipped a whole middle ground of Groove/Metalcore bands until Deathcore got my attention, haha

Bzzz : you know PWD use to write riffs that weren’t generic ?
That old VOM is such a good way to start this video
Do you actually change tuning for these videos or do use a drop pedal?
I actually change tuning :)
Nik Nocturnal mad respect bro
So dopee!! Could you do something like a behind the scenes how to create this sound and how you record it? Loving your content!
Suggestion:
Heaviest Riffs: Standard Tuning
It'll be an all Sylosis video
That's gonna be probably the last one I do
@@NikNocturnal Sick man! Looking forward to it
chon
I NEEEEDDD Nik to do a full cover of Caves. He plays it BY FAR the cleanest out of any cover I’ve seen.
Payback by Slayer is heavier than most of those
The real list is filled with Slipknot.
0:14 "all they have is just... Baw wow wa nu nu wa baw nu wa nu nu nu nu" like if you get it
I was gonna like until you begged for it
"oH pLZ gIVe lYKe iff U unDErrsTand". That's begging
Literally bounced my head from start to finish
3:31 One of my favorite riff from Nu Metal band Sevendust
Nocturne was my fav album back in the day. Props on the logo
Ha just played Outnumbered yesterday myself! Awesome EP
Happy you put Elitist in here, totally underrated band

Favorite Heaviest Riffs video so far, so many tasty riffs!
I am so glad you did Mudvayne. Just so glad.
THANK YOU FOR THE ATTILA RIFF I've been waiting for some new attila content 😎
Thank YOU for watching :)
One of my favourite guitar tunings. I'd like to see Heaviest riffs in Drop F#
It's on the to-do list :)
Also, SOTS and Acolyte March by Project 86. More hard rock/post-hardcore than metal, but both heavy as hell songs from one of the most underrated bands
