Nik Nocturnal \m/ A video explaining the difference between modes and scales would be hugely appreciated. I was suprised to discover, through your examples, that I lean towards different modes while jamming than I first thought. Leads me to think that my idea of modes being a way to compartmentalize scales might be inaccurate.

Double Harmonic Major is my favorite. It's just major (Ionian) but with two augmented seconds, (like the one in harmonic minor, hence the name harmonic). It sounds like Phrygian dominant but better in my opinion. It's like a dissonance that never truly resolves but is pleasant enough that it isn't unusable like Locrian usually is.

That was The Scnitzel my man! I’ve been looking for ways that Locrian is used since most people disrespect it who don’t understand metal. Solos with a flat fifth are just diabolical AF when played over power chords (non-stop perfect fifths). Yours was fantastic! Anyway the song The Evil has Landed by Testament, how much of that is played with Locrian? Certainly the verses right?

0:02 when you learn the pentatonic scale well and now you think you're a shred god

Ang galing mo talaga pogi, kahanga-hanga talaga yung mga modes na binanatan mo, as usual nakakatawa pa rin yang intro mo! 😂😂😂

Please please do a lesson on modes and scales! I've been playing for 10 years, on my own terms, and have come to realise that I keep getting stuck when writing because I am rusty with modes and scales... everywhere I look, they are explained in a weird way so I need it simplified! These solos were awesome btw! Good job!

The tremolo picking at the middle of the dark side sounds like part of Jim Root’s solo in Absolute Zero

I would love a lesson of modes please!! I knew a little about Phrygian and Lydian but I’ve only heard the terms through passing!

All of that sounded amazing ! What is your signal chain ? I have the same guitar but with the thru-body strings. Do you like yours ?
Major thanks for the video also and helping people learn modes.
