Thanks Drop B aena
The Mydwayne - Dig is a very cool drop B riff!
Sorry i meant Mudvayne😅
Shout out to the Nickelback riff. That is all
That song fucks. It’s written in honor of dimebag so it’s got some really cool aspects to it
Nickleback always surprises me, I recently found out they did a song on a 7 string which is crazy since their sound isn’t something you’d expect
@@Mangos390 They have some cringe lyrics but they're very good musicians, pretty solid band
So what if Nickelback has some dumb lyrics…if the heavy is there I’m good.
NO WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY HE CHOSE THE NICKELBACK SONG I FORGOT ABOUT THAT
Respect
Tuned my telecaster in Drop B, that's the main tuning for that guitar since then
Oooh I need to hear that guitar in drop B now
@@InkAndPoet RATM tuned to drop D, not drop B
@@mariuslepont4505 ah thank you
I've got a 50s anniversary, and it won't hold c let alone b, what model is it?
@@tomharrison9546 setup is everything, but i have the Squier telecaster Jim Root, a metal oriented guitar
OUTNUMBERED, massive respect. GOATED.
I would've rioted if there was a whole video on drop B riffs and nothing from Zombie EP
Drop B these days is like playing in E flat back in the 80s 😂
Damn most of this list was a trip back to my teens. Good shit. The whole list could have been early VoM, Parkway, and All shall Perish
Side of a bullet is unironically an absolute banger
Mudvaynes Dig video was so sick when it came out, copped it on limewire and would watch it over and over.
L.D. 50 is such a tough album, STILL!
Limewire!!!! Remember downloading stuff from there with my old dial up internet. Took hours to download a song.
Wage Slaves always goes hard. That whole album is a masterpiece
Yess!!!🤘
Bleed From Within - The Healing
Neaera - spearheading the spawn
The Chariot - The City
Hatebreed - In Ashes They Shall Reap
YES
BFW is suuuuper underrated, ive seen them live twice and they are just amazing! I'd even go as far as saying that they have the best riffs of modern metalcore!
Holy damn what a selection! I only knew the last one, thank you for the three quality discoveries.
Fuck yeah! Pray for Plagues, Punisher, AND Side of a Bullet?! This riff salad was tasty AF.
NICKELBACK BROTHER HELL YEAH ‼️
All they have is just bownowbowdowdoodow
literally lmao. generic ass riffs lol
@@TheSlowik98 Dude I know lol. So I just watched Misha Mansoor's "The Duh-jent Set" how to play "Jet Packs Was Yes" (with Misha Mansoor of Periphery, I mean Periphery's Misha Mansoor I should say - I also should say I can't type LOL) but he was saying that the word Duh-Jent actually comes from how he frames his power chords and it sounds really metallic (like DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN) and I also read in Guitar wold in the Periphery interview that they claim to be the inventors of Duh-Jent (and that's a load of crap! I'll tell you why) Because if you listen to duh-jent bands, in my opinion Periphery sounds like young atonal Meshuggah because all they have is just BowNowBowDowDooDow WeeNeeDooWaaNaaNeeDoo. It actually kind of sounds like After the Bural except more atonal because of the legato runs that they have. I think that DuhJent was invented by like Animals As Leaders because Tosin Abasi is a way better guitarist, hes way more creative, and even though they both use Axe-Fx (well actually Periphery uses 7-String guitars) but in my opinion, Duh-jent is having alot of different textural chords playing really really well and being inventive - which just isnt want Peirphery is so I just kind of think periphery sucks.
@@brianbaugusmusiclmaooooo there is no way that essay of yours wasn’t just an over-the-top copy pasta. If it wasn’t, it is now!
@@TheSlowik98 Do you realize the original comment is a quote from some guy in like 2010 whining about Periphery on a vlog? And then Veil of Maya turned his mocking impression of a djent riff into an actual riff in their song. Which Periphery's Misha helped produce. The layers of parody here are hilarious. Here's the original: ua-cam.com/video/Mxtue8cRdYc/v-deo.html
@@yemartini5443 It's literally a copypasta my guy. See the vid I linked to in the other comment.
One of my favorite tunings!!
SIDE OF A BULLET!!! Mad respect for including that riff man. I just subscribed
This whole video could've been a Marc Okubo tribute and I would be here for it, love me some Drop B.
The intro riffs on Mowgli and We Bow In It's Aura are two of my favorite riffs to play to this day!
4:13 juicy harmonic made me throw my phone
Same, gotta take a shower because this one was so dirty...
Was just searching for some drop B riffs excellent timing, love seeing some All Shall Perish
Gawd, I love that guitar 😎💚🤘🏻
dude i really like that jackson. So fresh so clean !
A part 2 would be great!
Forgot how much that All Shall Perish riff slays!
“Boneyards” is fucking nasty! 🤘🏻
Andrew - that is one of the coolest guitars I have ever seen. Sick!
Master riffage of riffs from a riff master. 🤘🏻
Side Of A Bullet what a deep cut mention 🤘🏻
Love the All Shall Perish!
GREAT AS USUAL!!!!🤟
Hell yeah! VoM and Parkway Drive were a big part of my high school playlist
Man the All Shall Perish riff got me in the feels
Killer riffs especially that Nickelback riff I love them!! Next time you should do something by Otep, I know some of their songs are in drop B flat but I think some sound like drop B. You should do drop B flat riffs too that tuning is sick
Some very chunky riffs. Hell yeah 🤘🏼
really like this heavy riff from Diamond Construct - Psychosis (Starts at 2 : 05), maybe for a part 2 :)
you rock this :) thanks for good riffs :) 🤘
Punisher is one of my all-time favorites 🤘 Also love Dig!
Secretly should have been all VoM riffs. Great video
Drop B...etter. Better name for it.😎
You’re onto something 🅱️IG here
3:20 “All they have is just ‘bwer-na-bwer-da-da-weeneenu-weenuneenur’”
Great list, the only thing I would add is some Machine Head, like the Davidian riff.
I love the breakdown riff in "Wallowing the Rabbit whole" by Code Orang it is one of my favorite riffs in drop B tuning.
The Punsher riff 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
the architects riff is GOATED, always is my favorite song by them
Holy throwback with that old Architects song!
Most of my favorite drop-B riffs are Chevelle riffs, especially “Saferwaters” and “Family System”. There’s also a couple of riffs off Greeley Estate’s ‘NR,NR’ up there too.
Interesting adaptation of babymetal's karate. As seen it can be played in drop b just fine even though the kami band plays it on a 7string in standard (just how I learned it). As always, a very good choice with the riffs overall.
disturbed - immortalized is my fav drop b riff
Hell yeah for the All Shall Perish love!
Parkway Drive's Boneyard is the grooviest riff which rocks the most in my opinion.
There are loads of riffs I enjoy in Drop B from Demon Hunter! Especially on their third album The Triptych you’d enjoy!
nickel back has written in drop b?? lmao
They have a good few drop b and e standard with the e tuned down to b songs
Should've listened is in open b I think
They actually play 7 strings too
I think he plays it in b standard on a 7 string when they perform it live. Chad has a custom shop 7 string Gibson Explorer that he rocks quite a bit.
I was gonna say yeah they play 7 strings too lmao
0:00 “DROP B GUITAR RIFFS!!!” In Time Signature Beat
Shocked you resisted the urge to make this vid 8 mins, mad respect
Right on that nickel back riff 🤘🏼When we get to see that aviator in action again!?
The Blinding of False Light by As I Lay Dying. The breakdown riff goes so hard
Mudvayne and Slipknot 🤘🤘🤘
1. Demon Hunter - Not I
2. Machine Head - Left Unfinished
3. Trivium - Throes of Perdition
4. Devildriver - I Could Care Less
5. Kingdom of Sorrow - Behind The Blackest Tears
NWOAHM: most special metal sungenre. Not naming Slipknot, since Andrew did already
I forgot how hard Always is. One of my fave albums! I don't listen to core that much anymore but these are classics.
What gauge strings did you use on that Jackson for Drop B Andrew?
The riff in Scrambled by Harms Way is so damn good, maybe in part 2?
great!
ROOTS BLOODY ROOTS!!
What string gauge you use for drop B and drop A on 6 str guitars (25.5 scale)?
That Nickelback one was a surprise! I enjoyed the whole video but if I have to pick a favorite, I’ll go with “Karate” because I’m such a huge Babymetal fan. I’m curious, do you like any of the new stuff? The Other One has some delightfully crushing riffage on it.
Annotations of an Autopsy - Gore Gore Gadget. Fun to play and brutal AF
You're missing Halo by Machine Head, classic riff!
1:00 Slipknot - Left Behind
1:20 BMTH - Pray for Plagues
1:50 The Devil Wears Prada - Outnumbered
2:20 Parkway Drive - Boneyards
2:50 All Shall Perish - Wage Slaves
3:20 Veil of Maya - Punished
3:40 Architecs - Always
4:05 Babymetal - Karate
4:25 Mudvayne - Dig
4:45 Nickelback - Side of A Bullet
WE SO B OMBING
Drop a riffs would be awesome
Maybe next week 👀
Andrew you are the shit for adding that Nickelback riff. You're the goat 🐐
Karate is actually in B standard. Their guitarists play 7 strings... but I guess that's semantics lol, it gets the job done. Also including Nickelback is wild. Great list.
Fuck yeah for some Mudvayne and old Parkway Drive!
Machine Head's Imperium is a drop B masterpiece, so many good riffs and it's heavy af!
Ooooo hell yea brother 😎
“Shoes” by King’s X is a huge drop B riff.
Bleed from within- it lives in me
A lot of Landmvrks riffs are in Drop B and super heavy! Lost in a wave and Death are good example.
Bleed from within is also a super heavy drop B band, their riffs are incredible
CHUGGG!!!!! awesome
wow mr baena no crowbar sadge
It's gotta be idols and anchors by parkway drive for me. Such a brilliant song and a mad guitar workout, solo and all ;_;
Where Do I Hide is another kickass Drop B nickelback riff worth mentioning. And another Mudvayne riff would have to be Internal Primates Forever. This video was great regardless but i had to mention those riffs!!!
PRAY FOR PLAGUES YES! Got me I to deathcore 🤘🏻🔥
Ruin by Architects is actually criminally unknown and underappreciated by so many people. It's way to late for them to ever play anything from it again live, but the fact that when Hollow Crown came out they totally omitted anything from that album live is beyond me.
The best tuning. Also, Machine Head- Davidian
what is that pillow thing on your guitar neck ?
My favourite Drop B riff is every single Gatecreeper riff
Early PwD was peak metalcore imo
Drop B always makes me think Parkway Drive
Children of Bodom - Platitudes And Barren Words
Paramount - August Burns Red
Dark Tranquility - Focus Shift
All hot topic-core bands.
Always ❤❤❤
Slayer actually used Drop B in the song "Payback," one of the better songs on "God Hates Us All," and for a more recent one, I think "A Pale Light Lingers" by Boundaries is in Drop B and it's fucking AWESOME
as a D standard enthusiast, i approve this video
These riffs sound better than originals with II II amp sim. Give us pt. 2 or maybe 15-20 songs next time
Two underrated bands that play in Drop B: Circles (Aus) and A Textbook Tragedy
Nice
Anything Soreption
This
Boneyards is such a sick riffs
Kingslayer by bmth
The list is nearing the end. He's on Dig, and the comments already gave away the Nickelback song, so I'm sad that there are no BLEEDING THROUGH riffs.
Mudvayne and Nickelback... a surprise, but a welcome one :3
With regards by Polaris is the best drop B riff of all time
Glad you had old bmth on there. Old veil of maya is some of my fav drop b stuff too. It's not safe to swim today woulda been cool
It was very hard to pick one riff from them haha. I wanted to go with something from the first album but I think Punisher is way more well known (and easier to play lol) so I ended up going with that
