Just got a 2012 USA 6505+ and I love it so much. Such a beast of an amp. Didn’t know Machine Head used the green channel boosted, gonna have to try that out
I have the 6505 combo+ and love it. The shitfield had to go. Slapped a v-30 in there and walla all the juicy tone a metal head could ask for. Affordable and heavy.
@@Shark-Dev76 yep, that's the one. I did some research and it looks like they were made here in SLC for a year or two before going out of business in 2010. $1,799 for the head.............There is a head and 212 in town that just popped up locally for a pretty cheap price. I'm tempted to grab it.
It's a great amp for early 2000s metal, but it sounds downright awful for everything else. I wish I would've spent my money on something else, but I bought off on the hype. Either way I'm not selling it. This thing is like owning gold. It only goes up in value
It definitely does the 2000’s thing well. I do agree, it doesn’t do a lot of other things well. I do enjoy this amp but it’s not one of my first picks anymore.
i love my peavey 6505,but im confused how to bias, generally i bias my asmps around 56 mv,but the bias of this amp is in mili ampers, and i dont know what is the ma bias, can somebody help me
Hey there! I take my amps in whenever I need that kind of work done, but if you reach out to Brian with @BaritoneGoatStudio he might know the answers you're looking for!

It’s soo good! Built like tanks and pretty low maintenance. You’ll have to let me know how you like the green channel boosted!
Keep in mind Machine Head uses a Marshall 412 with Greenbacks as well
Great video as always man
Thanks homie, I really appreciate it!
man awesome video !!!
Hey thanks! I really appreciate that!
Always been a peavey fan
The OG for high gain.
Brutalllll 🤘🏻😁🤘🏻
🤘🤬🤘
These are great amps \m/
Couldn't agree more! That's why I've owned it 5 differents times haha.
Just bought one, thanks
Nice!! I hope you love it! Great amplifier.
This was the metal amp of the 2000's. it has that American metal core sound.
Absolutely! That amp was on every stage in the 2000’s. So many amazing albums were made with it!

The Vintage 30 makes such a difference over the “shitfield”! I’m sure it made it feel like a new amplifier!
@tyrannosaurusriffs oh yea huge. I also retubed the amp with fresh JJ's and it's really cranking now.
Great video and great info even for rookie players like me.
Thank you! I’m still a rookie, just trying to share as I learn! 🤘
I have the identical head. 120 watts of awesome tone
Agreed. I've owned this amplifier 4 different times. They're great!
Ever try the 6534+? I got one used for 900 bucks with original ruby tubes it’s killer
I haven’t but I would love to get my hands on one to try! The EVH EL34 is my favorite flavor of high gain but I need to try the Peavey!
Do big wattage amps always have a buzz ?
In my experience, yes.
Solid state high gain amps like Randall are absolutely quiet. No hiss or fuzz whatsoever. You won't even notice if its switched on.
It's a clean head, simple but fire design. love the chicken head knobs. How is the headroom when you're all patched up? Great vid man.🤘🤘🤘
It's got more headroom than anyone could ever need. You can drown a drummer out with this beast. Seriously, on 2, it'll hurt your ears.
@@tyrannosaurusriffs oh I imagine, I have a jcm800SL 2x12 combo.. that thing pushes so much air it's insane.
@@Shark-Dev76dude……I wish I could try that thing. Do you remember Bolt Amps by chance?
@@tyrannosaurusriffs I'm not super familiar with them, but I remember hearing one Johnny Hiland was playing ..... damn..

Yee, Ordered one. Never showed up Sweetwater basically sent a shrug in the form of an Email saying it was delivered to SOMEONE. lol
You ordered the new one?? That’s really odd of Sweetwater! I wonder if someone scored a free amp…
I wish they’d made the lead channel switchable to the og 5150 sound. the plus is way too tight for me. no low end whatsoever
Your idea of being switchable is a really good one. I’ve never thought of wanting that. I wonder if there is a mod out there someone can do!
Switchable ? In what way? Am I misunderstanding something?
There’s a few component changes between the “+” and the OG
