Best Zakk interview I have ever seen and I have watched a ton of them. Well done! Nuno next! Zakk and Vai both spoke abt how incredible they thought Nuno was when they toured together.
Love how Zakk refers to the greats as Father, King, Saint etc... Such a great guy. Glad to see and hear that he is doing great. Great job on the interview!
Zakk has literally been one of my biggest influences during teens and early twenties and still is in my playing years later. So bad ass you got to interview him. Fucking amazing! Zakk Wylde EMG 81/85 was my main configuration before and after my emg sponsorship
As a zakk wylde admirer and BLS fan, I have to say this is the best interview I’ve ever watched! You manage to take the conversation to a casual mode where I learnt a lot about the technical aspects of his rig, his way of composition, his life in general and I felt more inspired to continue practising and play more. Thank you so much mate! Cheers from Chile.
What a fantastic interview, rock journalists everywhere will be asking “how did he get all that out of Zakk”. Such a generous guy with his knowledge, a true teacher.
Is Zakk Wylde the coolest guy ever he doesn't even know the name of the villain he thinks Wonder Woman and Thor are bad guys he's just such a sweetheart
When you mentioned the No More Tears solo it really resonated with me. That was the first song I had ever heard from Ozzy back when in 1994. I was 10 and I found the cd in my older brothers collection and put on the title track. I was blown away. That solo, that song inspired me to pick up the guitar and I haven't looked back since.
Thanks ZAAk for being the genuine Rock Star that is still the biggest fan on earth. Your humility and sense of humor are as legendary as your riffs, God bless.
Zack won't say it, but his favorite guitarist is Billy Gibbons... The beard says all.. He just wishes he can get that tone... but since he can't, he just shreds...
I remember him saying something about “aging gracefully” in an interview a little while back and now he’s doing the exact opposite. That dye looks so bad.
Zakk is such a kind and down to earth guy! Amazing that we "mere humans" can now talk and see our guitar heroes through the internet and hear all these magnificent stories, the knowledge, the funny accidents, all of it! I'm in my 40s and I never thought in the late 90s/early2000s that the world will change this much, and it is AWESOME! Thank you Mr Zakk and Tyler! \m/
You are turning the whole guitar world into basically your friends. And you play some of the most legendary guitars in history. You, sir, are completing life.
Had the privilege of meeting ZAAk at a BLS show in Norfolk Virginia in 2000. He hung out with fans for two hours after the show. We talked music for a while he is passionate about music!
You can either play or you can’t. That’s a great quote. Still have the last Guitar World I bought in 2003 with him and Dime on the cover. Zakk is simply a beast!
Zakk Wylde seems like such a great guy. Intelligent and enthusiastic - a great talker about his craft as well as a great player. Really enjoyed this interview.
What a nice guy. I expected someone who would pour boiling pitch on you from the castle turrets but Zakk is such a friendly guy here. And he couldn't be more right in asking, "Who's your favorite?" 'cause music is subjective, and even your own opinion might change over time.
1st I'm like #69 yes!!! But to the point Tyler is really moving up in the world: Vai, Gilbert, Wylde uh yeah Tyler is proving his playing is on par and worthy of these players time.....let's face it here Tyler is a f***ing Killer player and extremely creative his love for the instrument and his dedication to it is paying off and I (Rocky Henson) could not be more proud of Tyler and I'm proud to be a subscriber to his channel and have been for a while.....Go Tyler!
Zakks breakdown on the Pentatonic scale is inspiring, he understands so much and applies so little of what else is possible and does so in in a unique and original way. He by far is the best pentatonic player and his pick action to make the guitar simulate a whammy bar in awesome. He is so inspiring...BLS 4 life.
I love how when zakk is talking about a scenario (like when he's recording or creating in general) he includes whoever is interviewing him as if they're buddies that are doing something together. Might seem trivial perhaps but it's something I've noticed and I think it actually says a lot about what kind of guy he is
I saw Zakk Sabbath a few years ago too. During electric funeral he walked offstage and stood on top of our bar table and finished the song there! Talk about a "Come to Jesus" moment
This is one of THE - BEST Zakk Wylde interviews. So much insight that you never hear from him and I really think it's because of your insightful questions. Zakk often uses a comedic approach to answering questions but I really enjoyed hearing him answer with a more serious, direct tone. Such a cool dude. He's like the goofy uncle at a bbq that everyone loves, but always has the right advice or words.
How can you not love this guy? He's got the best analogies! Funny as hell, and a great guitarist! So humble! He has it all! He's definitely enjoying life to the fullest!!
just ask him simple questions and LET HIM TALK. great approach that few tv guys have mastered. What a philosopher too! "The magic is in your head and heart..."
I believe no matter how many times you've heard "no more tears" the guitar on that song is amazing. From the heavy main riff, to the awesome solo, that is an awesome song and Zakks guitar work will live on forever. In 50 years people will hear that song and will still be amazed at his playing.
This was so straight forward and honest , refreshing to hear an icon actually tell it how it is , Zakk could be the guy down the pub telling you how it is. No bullshit . Great interview....and the Vai ribbing bout the Evo ha ha that made me spit out my beer man

Zakk is so awesome. I've seen him live and it amazes me how he can lay down the heavy riffs and then break into Dead as Yesterday and sing like an angel. For anyone that doubts how talented he is, look up when he did Machine Gun Man on MTV from when he played with Ozzy. Holy smokes. That was amazing. Luv u Zakk

I love Zakk Wylde! He is just so genuine and real. His approach to guitar and life, in general, is unique. I would say between him, Doug Aldrich, and Randy Rhoads, these are the three most influential guitarists for me. When you listen to his blistering solos with Ozzy, they are some of the most awesome pieces of work any guitar player has done.
Yeah, I was thinking he just got done working on cars, like Danny Gatton. But he is in the kitchen, maybe he was mixing up hamburger meat or something, LOL.
Met Zakk at a GC event where he was doing photos and signing whatever you threw at him to promote his guitars. He shook hands with and hugged every single person there and was one of the nicest most genuine musicians I've ever met, and I've met a lot of them. Zakk is the real deal. He loves his fans. He IS a fan. He just all around gets it.
Zakk is one of the Truest and most Honest Metalmen, Ever. That guy, saw a place in the world that he could fill, better than anyone else, and after Barb told him she had enough, He went on to carry metal for so many years at its highest place, held up for all it is for all of us who come from that place, and for that, Zakk deserves to be remembered for a lot more than the guitar playing, because he was in it for more than that all this time, hes kind of Metals Obi Wan now...hes been there as the wide eyed kid, thrown into it all, and now, a lifetime later, the path he walked is something he doesnt really say all that much about, he laughs it all off, but, He did it, and kept Metal pure to what it really was when it all started, No One has carried that torch as far or as long as Zakk Wylde has. \\m// \\m// Metal Forever.
Guthrie Govan, probably the best player who ever lived, so far. I'm a 60/70's blues/rock guy so his personal music is not even my thing, but he's probably the one that came closest to the complete mastery of the instrument, meaning that he can literally play whatever comes to his mind in the moment, no matter the style, tempo, complexity, musicality or feel, and on top of that, he has really beautiful and original ideas that do come to his mind. I think when guitarists walk into a room, they just know who's who, and I can't think of a room in which there's anyone who can outplay him.
Got to meet Zakk Wylde a couple years ago and he has to be one of the kindest people I’ve interacted with. Meeting hero’s is nerve wracking and he made everyone feel welcome and appreciated as fans. Also love the accent coming outta that bearded beast
Love how he includes you in his metaphors and stories. Never come across someone who speaks like that before. It's such a welcoming mode of conversation.
Freaking Zakk, ask him a question about his guitars and it takes him 30 minutes to explain. What a guy! I would love to hang out with this guy. Never be a dull night with Zakk!
I got to see Zakk with Generation Axe,and really gained a great respect for his showmanship. He was in the crowd and really got people moving.Great interview!
Zakk Wylde ~~ his musical ramblings are longer than his beard He speaks with wisdom sprinkled humor that is so admirable His songs speak for themselves
I've been saying that exact thing paying my respects to EVH. Which just punched me in the heart when I said his name. To hear Zakk say King EDWARD just cements it for me. I been hunched over my guitar 40 years stealing Eds work. I just thought him,Jimmy, Jimmy, Randy, Angus and Zakk all had their own Kingdom somewhere. I think Eds was paved with gold and jewels. I will say one of my fav tunes was " No More Tears" I absolutely love the mix of dropped D, slide and slam. I copped some of the chops out of a book transcribed by Jesse Gress who was Editor for Melody maker I think, and whom I had the absolute pleasure of taking lessons from at Star music in Allentown PA for a few months. He was with Todd Rundgen. Jesse is sick with an incurable lung disease. I saw Zakk and thought what a great way to reach out to the rock community and ask that if you can possibly, in these trying times. Check out the Go fund me page for Jesse Gress and perhaps kick in a fin and a prayer for one of the nicest down to Earth gentleman I've ever met. He was still in a band called the Stand at that time for anyone who may have seen him. I had to ask him after I saw him play one night. How he bent a note so high it disappeared. He said about the Eddie phenom early eighties days. He wanted to do something different so he tuned down a whole step and had his whammy bar literally scraping a track in his black Strat. He would bend a note then pull his whammy bar up through the hemisphere to extend this soaring long high note. I just wanted to share that little nug for Jesse. Ante up for Jesse if you can, please take a moment to send a prayer even if you can't. Peace from SC

"Presence" has been my favorite Zeppelin album since I was ... before John Henry passed away. I even love In Through The Out Door.
I like Zakk when he’s in this sort of element. Sometimes I feel like he runs a schtick trying to be funny, but when he’s putting down good, real guitar knowledge he’s very enlightening.
Zakk Wylde EMG 81/85 was my main configuration before and after my emg sponsorship
we needed this a few years earlier to get Lemmy on this show.
anyways, imagine papa het is coming up as one of the next ones..
Honestly I feel like everything James Hetfield says is so over publicized at this point that an episode with him wouldn’t be as interesting
Lemmy played bass not guitar
Fuck yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
As a zakk wylde admirer and BLS fan, I have to say this is the best interview I’ve ever watched! You manage to take the conversation to a casual mode where I learnt a lot about the technical aspects of his rig, his way of composition, his life in general and I felt more inspired to continue practising and play more. Thank you so much mate! Cheers from Chile.
I like when he makes references and is like “ya know, like, if you and I did something....” always totally inclusive in his communication approach.
If everyone was like Zakk, the world would be like God intended. No one is more genuine and positive! Love to Zakk!
Zakk goes DEEP into his scenario tangents!
Gotta say it’s endearing how he always includes the person he’s talking to in the scenarios haha
He is obviously a sports fan!
Hasn’t talked for 60sec, already references powerlifting, what a legend..
His beard is so long and majestic it doesn't even fit in the frame.
Zack won't say it, but his favorite guitarist is Billy Gibbons... The beard says all.. He just wishes he can get that tone... but since he can't, he just shreds...
His beard is on a separate zoom call.
Not so much majestic as mingin.
It's long, yes, but idk about majestic. Dude needs to lay off the bad beard dye.
What a cool, down to Earth guy
Had the privilege of meeting ZAAk at a BLS show in Norfolk Virginia in 2000. He hung out with fans for two hours after the show. We talked music for a while he is passionate about music!
You can either play or you can’t. That’s a great quote.
Still have the last Guitar World I bought in 2003 with him and Dime on the cover. Zakk is simply a beast!
I have that one too!
Same here.
Zakk Wylde seems like such a great guy. Intelligent and enthusiastic - a great talker about his craft as well as a great player. Really enjoyed this interview.
... then Tyler walks to the bedroom, stares into mirror and mouths "Father Tyler" as a small tear roll down his cheek.
Haha this wins the internet today
What a nice guy. I expected someone who would pour boiling pitch on you from the castle turrets but Zakk is such a friendly guy here. And he couldn't be more right in asking, "Who's your favorite?" 'cause music is subjective, and even your own opinion might change over time.
AHHAAHHAAHA
1st I'm like #69 yes!!! But to the point Tyler is really moving up in the world: Vai, Gilbert, Wylde uh yeah Tyler is proving his playing is on par and worthy of these players time.....let's face it here Tyler is a f***ing Killer player and extremely creative his love for the instrument and his dedication to it is paying off and I (Rocky Henson) could not be more proud of Tyler and I'm proud to be a subscriber to his channel and have been for a while.....Go Tyler!
Amen!
Amen to that!
Zakks not a guitar villain, he's a guitar God, a legend. He has some of the best advice when it comes to talking guitar.
Yea he is a legend, and a wealth of knowledge
Guitar god,. Sounds like a good religion,. Instead of bible verses it's guitar philosophy,. Music is a way of life
I love how when zakk is talking about a scenario (like when he's recording or creating in general) he includes whoever is interviewing him as if they're buddies that are doing something together. Might seem trivial perhaps but it's something I've noticed and I think it actually says a lot about what kind of guy he is
This interview was slammin’! Great job.
I luv that he calls Ozzy “Boss” 😌
After Randy Rhoads... Zakk is my favorite guitarist. I saw him live a couple years ago. He is insane!!!
I saw Zakk Sabbath a few years ago too. During electric funeral he walked offstage and stood on top of our bar table and finished the song there!
Talk about a "Come to Jesus" moment
Jake E Lee is better.
This is so amazing, Tyler!
This was such a great interview. Father Wylde was one of my earliest inspirations to play guitar. His riffs with Ozzy and BLS are legendary
This is the best interview Zakk has done in years.
just ask him simple questions and LET HIM TALK. great approach that few tv guys have mastered.
I'd love to see Gary Holt in the next episode of Guitar Villains!🤘🤘
This was so straight forward and honest , refreshing to hear an icon actually tell it how it is , Zakk could be the guy down the pub telling you how it is. No bullshit . Great interview....and the Vai ribbing bout the Evo ha ha that made me spit out my beer man
He won't bullshit you, but he also won't be a dick which is just as important.
Zakk is such a bad ass player. And has a really cool sense of humor.
Zakk Wylde was the first Guitarist I ever saw 'live' No Rest For The Wicked North American tour Greenville SC Greenville Memorial Auditorium June 18th 1989
How can anyone have anything but love and respect for Zakk. What a great bloke.
Luv u Zakk
It was great to see Zakk talk seriously and not being a joker 100% of the time. It was great interview, good job Tyler
Agreed!
I have never heard, seen or viewed a bad interview from Zakk, he is very informative and keeps your attention with humor, he makes you want to listen 👍, excellent show fella
Zakk is one of the reasons why I like and want to play the guitar so much and more...
Oh man, this hits harder than the others for some reason. He just has a grace and grit.
Man, Music is Win s literally my favorite UA-cam channel that I always look forward to watching!! Thanks for the great videos Tyler and keep up the good work!!👍\M/
Tyler, been watching your videos for some time now. Amazing how you have evolved to an incredible guitar player with a show that rocks as hard as you do! So happy to see new videos as they come out. Peace from Costa Rica
Looking at his hands, Zakk hobbies: brick laying, log splitting, punching rocks.
Yeah, I was thinking he just got done working on cars, like Danny Gatton. But he is in the kitchen, maybe he was mixing up hamburger meat or something, LOL.
Probably the best Zakk interview I've seen. Well done.
"It comes from your heart and your fingers - not the guitar" wiser words never spoken.
yes, but I still think he played better/sounded better on his old Gibson bullseye guitar than anything else he's ever picked up.
For being a successful guitar player and super star, Zack seems like such a down to earth dude. He’s forever in my top 5. Great job, Tyler.
Always love ZW’s guitar hierarchy. Jimi’s the pope, Edward’s the king, Randy’s a prince etc.
Man, this was such an enjoyable conversation - Zakk just seems like one of the coolest dudes out there. Thanks for sharing!
I love everything you have put out Tyler. Please interview Mattias Ia Eklundh asap. 😀
Love how he includes you in his metaphors and stories. Never come across someone who speaks like that before. It's such a welcoming mode of conversation.
I wonder if he’s still going light on the mustard for the boss
My man, good to find a hardcore Zakk fan like myself. I think that "too much mustard" got him fired in the first place though, LOL
probably light on everything these days, including the razor ;)
fuck yea! Nice seeing Black Label brothers and sisters all in one place! SDMF GIFD!!
And change your trousers! Lol. I wonder if it really went down like that? Cool.
Freaking Zakk, ask him a question about his guitars and it takes him 30 minutes to explain. What a guy!
I would love to hang out with this guy. Never be a dull night with Zakk!
SLASH IS A MUST in the interview.. after all, you interview each one of the legendary guitarist.. and slash here is a must and be in this content next
You know they were both jamming with AXL before Slashs Snakepit right?
Slash is the reason I picked up the guitar in the first place, but damn...did Mr. Zakk Wylde have an influence on me with his early days with Ozzy!
I got to see Zakk with Generation Axe,and really gained a great respect for his showmanship. He was in the crowd and really got people moving.Great interview!
Zakk Wylde ~~ his musical ramblings are longer than his beard
He speaks with wisdom sprinkled humor that is so admirable
His songs speak for themselves
They always say
Never meet your heroes
Zakk would be great to hang with
He doesn't take himself too seriously. Yngwie on the other hand.........
@@davedecker1725 Agreed! Zakk would be the one guitarist who would make a great next door neighbor.
@@ChristoStrom He'd be on the road for 9 months a year 😆
I've been saying that exact thing paying my respects to EVH.
Presence is an awesome album!
"Achilles Last Stand"
'Nough said
Yeah, it's one of the greatest guitar records in history.
@@sharktroubles Id also argue this album and in through the out door are some the best ryhthm sections ever with the drums of bonzo and bass from JPJ. Seemed like they just kept getting tighter together!
Awesome interview, thank you both for this 🙏 Like everyone else here, I love all zakks music, my only disappointment with zakk interviews is that nobody ever talks to him about pride and glory, book of Shadows I & II in any depth, it's always glossed over. I think musically they are some of the greatest songs ever to be gifted to the world! Ohh yeah, zakk your music saved my life! If not for your sometimes rockin, sometimes beautiful songs, I would not be here today. Thank you so much, I love u brother. 🤘
Drink every time he says
Beginner level: "Father"
Expert level: "Slammin"
God level: "Ya know "
Zakk is a straight sweetheart . Always been hella cool to everyone I've seen interact with him.
I just sat through a 50min interview wtf, I can’t imagine doing that for anybody else 😂
In 1993 my friend called me and told me to come up to the store he worked at to see Zakk play in the parking lot. He played his stars and bars Les Paul and did a great set with a couple local guys backing him up.
Man... He's so lained down a smart
And rockstar
What do you need more
I applaud your ability to let the person talk. It’s crucial to being a good interviewer. Keep it up Tyler! You’re on track to being a goat!
Should do one with Adam Jones
