Thomas coming to my wedding was a dream come true. He made my wedding day super special, and now seeing a part of that day here on Yes Theory channel and seeing all the beautiful comments from the Yes Fam is something that I can’t describe with words. I’m very grateful for being a part of this amazing community. Thank you from heart ❤🙏🏼
I had the incredible luck of meeting Thomas in Kurdistan, Iraq, where I got to be his main driver and guide. It was an amazing experience, and I couldn't believe I actually met him in person-it was a dream come true! By the way, it's me, Laween Faiq, ZAEEM's friend. Thank you, Yes Theory, for creating this beautiful community!
I'd like to thank you for sharing this experience with us. I'd talked about wanting to visit but the feedback was discouraging. Seeing the true good hearted nature of your people is truly warming to my soul after what the world has projected ever since I was a little kid. One day I will visit, break bread and love to share stories with locals.
Amazing video! It has been my dream to return to Iraq following my time there as a soldier. The Iraqi people are among the most genuine and kind people I've ever met. My company was the first to clear the palace in Babylon. Watching you walk through it now, 20 years later, brought back many memories. I wish it could be converted to a museum that could bring revenue to the local area.
BEEN WAITING FOR THIS EPISODE FOR A LONG LONG TIME! SO HAPPY TO SEE THAT YOU WENT TO BAGHDAD - IT'S ONE OF THE MOST FASCINATING AND CULTURALLY RICH CITIES ON OUR PLANET!!
I am one of the many Iraqis who fled the country after the last war. Your video reminded me of all the wonderful memories in my hometown of Baghdad and its amazing people. Thank you for having the courage to come and experience the unrivaled Iraqi hospitality!
Hello, my countryman son I hope that you are well and that your life is beautiful and free of problems I start crying as soon as I see one of my countrymen outside their country 😢😢😞💔

I was an American Soldier, and spent a year in Baghdad from 2005-2006. Mostly in Karradah, Al-Dora, and Al-Kindi. I watched every minute of this intently, to see if I recognized anything. I spent many days on patrol in the back streets of those neighborhoods. I made many Iraqi friends, some are now here in the U.S. Others are dead, and I miss them dearly. Especially my good friend Ruqqaya Ibrahim, who we called "Sarah", She was one of my interpreters and was fearless on many missions. She died in 2017 and is missed by so many. I was an invader, but the Iraqi people were kind and warm. I cannot take back the reasons why I was there, but I learned much from the Iraqi people and was changed by my experiences. Thank you for this video. It brought back many memories.
I am from Karradah, I remember seeing military trucks omw to school and back, and always thought that those military guys are very professional and know their stuff. Too bad the political leadership had no idea what they were doing. I bet you remember those rotatory chicken stands on Karradah streets lol
As iraqi who moved to US back in 2011 saw and experienced moments but i can see iraq has got better over these years I’m glad u made safe out those years were there unstable and hot Thanks for ur service and understanding the whole political system !
I truly been crying on and off watching this. I was deployed in Baghdad 2009-2011 and met soo many amazing Iraqis while there. They were always so welcoming and beautiful people to interact with. I always think about them and hope they are doing well. They truly didnt deserve all the trauma. I’m glad to see them moving forward.
I was also in Baghdad and conducted dismounted patrols around Karrada in 2004-2005. I met many beautiful Iraqi people and they are also still in my heart today. I am truly happy to see the Iraqi people grow their country into such a wonderful place. ❤
We are good people, but your politicians destroyed my country, and here we are, as we return and live as the West as a whole takes an unfavorable image of Iraq, but it is exactly the opposite. @@jengonz86
I am 70. I am convinced that the people of the world are more alike than not. Yes, we come from different locations, we have different cultures , different biological markers but all that is surface level. What remains in the true human soul. What divides us ...is our leaders. They divide us with fear, lies, hatred, greed and violence. What if we got rid of all governments , each community weed out the trouble makers and we all learn to love and respect each other?
My reaction too. Imagine what would happen to the planet if the decisionmakers were women like Tomas’s guide. No child would go hungry, unhoused, unclothed or unsheltered. The elderly and infirm would always be provided for, and misbehavers would be recognized and nurtured during childhood instead of festering until adulthood.
The devil divides us. Jesus unites us. Jesus died for our sins and was resurrected on thec3rd day by God. When we confess Jesus is Lord and believe God raised him from the dead , we are saved. Jesus is the way the truth and the life. Nobody goes to the Father except through Jesus 🙏
Hi, im from Albania and currently working in Basra / Iraq, i can tell u that these people have the biggest heart compared to many countries that i have been to. As u saw in the video when you are a tourist in Iraq its impossible to pay when you hang out. They will offer you shelter, food and anything you need and will never ask anything in return. I had tears in my eyes the whole time watching the video and being happy for my Iraqi brothers and sisters.
This video made me cry multiple times. What a beautiful video. I can't wait to share this with everyone I know! As a Christian American, seeing the devastation caused when i was a child hurts my heart, and I am so sorry that my people caused this. But seeing the joy, love, and peace from Iraqi citizens, living in such a beautiful place brought smiles to my face. Every single person that was featured, I felt like I could love them right away. I cant wait for you to go back and show us more of Iraq!
People in every country want the same thing - peace, happiness and connection. Thanks for showing us that Iraq is no different. I hope one day to experience their warmth and hospitality.
As a Christian American 🇺🇸, I cried a few times. To see the humanity of my brothers and sisters around the world. After so much hurt and destruction; these beautiful souls continue to rise. To welcome strangers in their homes. To love generously and walk softly. Much love from me to you. I’m sorry for my countries dehumanization of you and its unspeakable wrongs committed. 🙏🏽 May you continue to rise from the rubble and blossom into a new day.

What a beautiful comment. It is attitudes like this that could unite the human race and evolve us from our inner tribalism into one tribe. Please do not lose this demeanor and continue to spread this level of love to the world around you.
your country, USA, or rather your government, which is elected by your people, is evil to the core, but some Americans like you are why i have faith that an evil country like america can also be redeemed and forgiven
I was deployed to Iraq in 2003. I spent the first 5 months in AL Hillah. I was fortunate enough to be able to interact with the local people on a daily basis. I became close with a few of them, but there was a mother and her young son who captured my heart. We didn't speak the same language and most of our communication was done through an interpreter. But they became family. On our last day in AL Hillah she brought her husband and daughters to see me. Her husband gave me a ring that he had been wearing & told me its to remember them.I wore that ring for almost 20 years before the band snapped. I miss my friends dearly & I think about them quite often. I have told everyone for the last 20 years that the people of Iraq are amazing people. They are warm, welcoming, and proud to share their culture. I had so many wonderful experiences in Al Hillah because of the people who lived there, despite the conflict that ravaged the country at that time. I wish someday I can go back. 🤞
OMG!! What an amazing documentary!! You really show that PEOPLE and POLITICAL NARRATIVE are definitely the not the same!!! Just beautiful! And even the ad made me cry!!

Thomas, as an Iraqi living in the United States, I have always dreamed of a content creator taking the risk to show the world the true values of Iraq. Generosity, courage, and hospitality are the core values of any Iraqi family around the world, including my own family who left Iraq a long time ago but still hold onto them. I really want to say thank you for showcasing the beauty of my home country, even when there were political issues and safety concerns. You are truly genuinely inspiring. You should watch the Top Gear episode called "Middle East Special" I think it's from series 16. They joke about it at first with their entrance off the plane but eventually get comfortable and see how friendly everyone is! It made me want to go to Iraq someday!

I visited Baghdad 2 years ago now and for a long time I wondered if I was doing the right thing, I was on a quest to complete 100 countries before I hit 40 (Which I managed) and Baghdad was always somewhere that fascinated me so against all my friends and family who told me not to go I went. What an experience, By far one of the best countries I ever visited, No one would let me pay for anything, Taxi drivers taking me around the city and refusing payment. Friendliest people of the world and I am so glad a well established team went there to back me up and say that it was one of the friendliest and most fascinating places I have ever visited.
I'm 43 years old. Iraq has been embroiled in various conflicts for the majority of my life; a lot of it as a result of the actions of my home country. It has always broken my heart. The end, when you were speaking with your guide, broke my heart all over again. And then, you showed the concert and the football match... My boss stopped by my desk to check on me, that is how much this video impacted this middle aged man from Montana. Keep doing your work, you fabulous humans!
I never thought it would be back to normal like this. Its a modern thriving city. I expected there would be nothing but sheep farmers left by now living in shacks.

I met a lot of Iraqi's during my time studying flight training in England in 2010-2012. I remember them till this day, for the friendly and kind hearts they have. From day one they treated me like a brother and have to say that I find them more pleasant than western people; no despite towards eachother, they act like one big family, they rooting for the best for you and no jealous behaviour. This video once again shows me that it wasn't just coincidence but the way they live life, and I really appreciate them for it.
I am a university instructor and writing consultant. The Iraqui students I taught and tutored were just lovely. Later, as a part of my ESL/TESOL training, we attended evening prayers at the masjid (mosque). An overwhelmingly Christian/other group, we were welcomed without hesitation. War and oppression are hideous, no matter who's doing it or who is inflicting them. Like people anywhere, the bad guys are a tiny percentage of a culture, but we shouldn't judge the entire country/group/religion based on those few.
@@bigjumbo9479 Not sure what others thought, but I certainly did not. Most of us simply had no idea if they'd encounter people traumatized by war and other events, or at least a bit standoffish with multi-national visitors asking questions. They were open, friendly, welcoming. Everybody wins.
As an Iraqi American, watching this video meant so much to me. The media often portrays Iraq in a negative light, but this video shows the true Iraqi culture and people. I'm so proud of you guys and appreciate you all so much for this. Definitely my favorite video you've made.

To be fair, anything is a step up from Denmark 😂. It's my least favourite country in Europe to visit. It's expensive, people are very cold and there isn't alot to do even in Copenhagen. I like to have an open mind, but Denmark is definitely the least enjoyable country I've visited in Europe. Who knew that the country where vikings came from would be so boring 😂?

Hello friends, I am from Iraq. I am conveying to you the reality. Our country has begun to witness clear stability since 2016. Wars, crises and conflicts have ended. We are now witnessing the largest reconstruction campaign and there are many tourists. We have begun to notice the entry of large investments. For example, we are now building the largest golf course in the Middle East at a cost of 1.5 billion dollars. Hotels, villas and tourist resorts. Greetings to you ❤️

I joined the US Army back in October 2001, after 9/11, like many others, and I am thankful to God that I didn’t deploy to Iraq, bec I never understood why we invaded Iraq in the first place. The Bush administration, & The DOJ committed genocide in Iraq, and they must be held accountable for their crimes. God bless Iraq 🇮🇶
So god violated your free will and stopped you from going to Iraq? The reasons why wars are fought is that uneducated fundamentalists are eager to join them.
As an Iraqi, thank you for sharing this video and for every honest word you said. Our people and our country have been exposed to great injustice and terrorism from the West, from terrorism, and even from the countries closest to us. We are trying to rise up ourselves, but the world prevents us, and they do not stop dragging us down every time. We got up. No one extends his hand to us here and tells the truth about us except a few brave people and you are one of them. Thank you from the hearts of all Iraqis.
This is by far the best thing i've seen in awhile. Being invited to a wedding from a friend whom you met while traveling is just special. I am Middle Eastern. It kind of makes me disappointed that so many beautiful places with kind people are not accessible to the rest of the world due to the warring nature of a few. There are also issues with the cultures and the people at large, and I can't defend some of those things, but it hurts when animosity between different groups of people is caused by a lack of direct cultural exchange. Thank you for doing this. Have only seen a bit of the video, but something in the intro set me thinking about this. Also, I love Kebabs!
Yeah I have really mixed feelings watching the Yezidi part. Im in iraq right now. It’s my first time back in 14 years. I can promise you that no city on earth has the beauty and soul that Baghdad does. I pray to god that one day our generation can turn it back to what it used to be.

Such a beautiful experience. Not at all what the media shows us here in the US. Thank you for capturing and sharing this moment.
As iraqi who moved to US back in 2011 saw and experienced moments but i can see iraq has got better over these years
I’m glad u made safe out those years were there unstable and hot
Thanks for ur service and understanding the whole political system !
The elderly and infirm would always be provided for, and misbehavers would be recognized and nurtured during childhood instead of festering until adulthood.
well said
dont get it mistaken tho, there is pure evil in the world.

I want to ask you what impression the Europeans have about Iraq?
I am a university instructor and writing consultant. The Iraqui students I taught and tutored were just lovely. Later, as a part of my ESL/TESOL training, we attended evening prayers at the masjid (mosque). An overwhelmingly Christian/other group, we were welcomed without hesitation. War and oppression are hideous, no matter who's doing it or who is inflicting them. Like people anywhere, the bad guys are a tiny percentage of a culture, but we shouldn't judge the entire country/group/religion based on those few.
Did u expect them to be horrible people??
@@bigjumbo9479 Not sure what others thought, but I certainly did not. Most of us simply had no idea if they'd encounter people traumatized by war and other events, or at least a bit standoffish with multi-national visitors asking questions. They were open, friendly, welcoming. Everybody wins.

i was crying the whole time i watch this video. love from iran ❤❤❤🇮🇷🇮🇷🇮🇷
❤🥹❤️
Neighbors thank you
Maybe you are a noble citizen of Iran, but your country's expansionist policies have a part in destroying Iraq
so much love for iran from iraq 🇮🇷🇮🇶❤️❤️
So, apostates, what should be done to them?
I don’t know you and this is the first time I come across this channel yet I cried while watching this video
I am Baghdadi Iraqi and I’ve been through a lot but regardless of everything Baghdad is one of the most alive cities in the world. You could go out at midnight and it would feel like it’s 7 pm. My country deserves so much more and I am pretty sure that we will only look forward. Thank you for the amazing picture you draw about the hospitality and kindness of my people.
Get rid of all religions and then your country can flourish.
Greetings to you ❤️
Still, I wouldn't dare come. I will stick to Thailand.

Woww, I’m from lraq and our story was long and the things that we had from the war and everything else was so bad , it let to the destruction of the state, but l am so proud that my country fought all odds and now we live in a safe wonderful place , and l really appreciate the beautiful picture you showed on Iraq, continue bro !!🤍🤍🤍
Yeah man. Would have been better for him to have visited the riverside and met the locals under the security of Uday.
So god violated your free will and stopped you from going to Iraq? The reasons why wars are fought is that uneducated fundamentalists are eager to join them.
Thank u for your emotion, we love american people but we hate your poloticians
I'm still wondering why Bush didn't face consequences. Money speaks.
@WeggieQueen2005 , that's why. This is why Republicans need to stay away from decision making.
We need more of this on our screens. I’m in tears with gratitude that you showed us these wonderful people
As an Iraqi, thank you for sharing this video and for every honest word you said.
So many people in Britain were with the Iraqi people the whole time.

Not from the west. The West removed Saddam Hussein, he was the main source of injustice.
@@BogushCh Most people of the west do not care about anything. They sit in front of TikTok, Netflix and Playstations.
Welcome to your second home and thank you for presenting a beautiful image of this country and its great people 💙
This is by far the best thing i've seen in awhile. Being invited to a wedding from a friend whom you met while traveling is just special. It is what I love most about traveling, meeting new people and (sometimes) creating long lasting friendships. Also the trip to Baghdad, what an adventure! It looks like an awesome city to visit one day.

@@SamThredderdear sir,
I am sorry to interfere in the conversation but the hanging gardens unfortunately don’t exist anymore. They were in Babylon once upon a time but no one knows where exactly they were.

I have watched many of your documentaries, none have touched my heart as much as this one has. In your discomfort of visiting Iraq at the beginning of the documentary to the end where the humanity of the people shone through. It reaffirmed my belief that everyone just wants to be apart of one big family called the human race. Thank you for continuing to show the world through the voice of seeking discomfort, you and your crew amaze me.

It's such a beautiful community and it makes me so sad that there's such a divide and destruction of culture by either prevalent propaganda or violent groups who don't represent us. It breaks my heart for the middle east. I wish we were more accepting of each other.
America needs to stay out of the Middle East countries! I am sorry for what is happening to all the other countries.
Well said brother, greetings and best wishes from Ireland to you.
Have you seen Europa The Last Battle? It's a documentary about what really happened in WW1 and WW2 it's the otherside of the story that's been kept from us for the past 75+ years.
Let's build bridges between all kinds of people. We are all human! Make us all ONE even with all the differences between us.
Thanks! Really amazing, informative, and inspiring work 👏
I'm lucky enough to have travelled full time for about three years (2017 to 2020). Since returning to the UK, times have been more challenging and the prospect of the wider world has rarely entered my thoughts. That is, until I watched Yes Theory for the first time a few days ago. These videos show the magnetism of humanity at its finest and the beauty of places a westerner might not immediately think of as a holiday destination. I'm so thankful I get to watch these for free. Thank you for making them and reminding me of the beauty of exploring the world.
I now have Baghdad on my bucket list! Beautiful place, and beautiful people. Loved this video. ❤
I recommend coming here after summer because the weather is scorching during summer😅Welcome to Baghdad at any time 💕💕
@@CelestialHelen I was about to say that, lol.

I am so humbled by these beautiful people. It feels like I have brothers I have never met. I felt more love from this video than I have ever felt in my entire life. I love you all.
I am an American, raised abroad. I love your videos because fear is based in the unknown and what is sensationalized on TV. I have traveled to so many places and experienced exactly the opposite: just love and acceptance. You are doing what I enjoy most, sharing that we are all humans, all deserving of love, damn the politics and the extremism. Thank you so much!!
First of all, congratulations on the wedding Zaeem! I am a Chinese guy and before I saw this video, my impression of Iraq was that it was a country with war and insecurity but a long history and culture(because there is very little information and news about Iraq on the Internet ). I will arrive in Erbil, Iraq around November this year to attend a plastics exhibition, and then I may go to Baghdad. Before I saw this video, I was always hesitant about whether to go to Iraq, but now I feel more at ease. I hope I can make some friends and clients in Iraq in November this year. I hope the people of Iraq will always be happy and safe. Love from China. ♥
You are welcome in Baghdad bro, i witness many chinese workers working here in the construction of bridges and highways😂❤️
@@l-bl7yk Hello, my friend. I learned from Google that English is not a common language in Iraq, and most people speak Arabic. My current concern is that when I arrive in Iraq, I will not be able to communicate well with the locals, because I only speak English and Chinese. Do you have any suggestions?
@MARK-rb7xk How can I prove that I am Chinese? . . . Show you my passport? Besides, if I am not Chinese, why should I pretend to be Chinese? . . what's the point?😂😂😂
@kaiwang8780 Don't worry about communications, Iraq people will comuncat you in easy and funny way.. what is your business exactly?

I truly appreciate you guys having the braveness and honest interest in getting to know other cultures and embrace them in your content - all while dealing with the certain stories, backgrounds and history in the most respectful way. huge credits & thanks to you (and all the wonderful local people along the road) for creating these videos - i am truly enjoying every second of them. keep putting your great work out there and never stop to seek discomfort. much love from munich - cheers!
Welcome to the Fam mate! Go back and watch some of their earlier stuff, I think you’d enjoy it! The vids where they are dropped somewhere random in the world with no money or cell phone for 24 hours are some of my favourite FWIW! Enjoy 😃

Again I am watchng from Australia. Loved the whole video especially the wedding. My eldest daughter marred an Assryian. Grooms dad from Iraq and mother Lebanon. It was an introduction to a whole new way to celebrate a wedding especially with the Lebonese drummers. Also men danced with men and women with women. They all go to each others wedding as support. They are very welcoming people and friendly. So because of this I loved your video. I have to say my introduction to kebabs were at the markets back in 1980 and they are still my favourite food. Thank you Thomas 4 video
Assyrians are ingenious people of Iraq, also the original people of Mesopotamia.
So many old people speak good English, people are so nice! You changed my perspective about the country! More people will start visiting because of this video.
I went to Iraq 2yrs ago and fell in love with the country. Like your video I couldn’t believe how welcoming everyone was. Visiting Mosul also changed my life. It was so destroyed and yet so many smiles in the streets & markets. Hopefully you were able to make it to Karbala as well, it was so beautiful. As always love the videos
How can you love Iraq?
It is amazing how much kindness and warmth the beautiful people of Iraq hold. I wish this is what mainstream media would show sometimes, even just a few times. This is a great video. Thank you
What a beautiful beautiful country with such amazing people. Hope to visit this amazing country one day! And hats off to you guys YES THEORY. Absolute kings!

I’m Jewish from Chile, living in Australia. Thanks for this amazing video and showing us how great these people are. I would love to visit one day, all I want is peace in the middle east. I have talked with many people from Iraq here and everyone is lovely. Thanks for giving us a lesson of kindness and for showing us how these people truly are, not what the media try to make us think of them.
Welcome to Iraq, and Iraq welcomes all people. I do not care about your religion, I care about your humanity

as long as u dont support is ur good
@@basmsworld5733 that is where you are wrong. I choose who I want to support, because there is freedom of speech, I was born with it. And whatever I believe in, or who I decide to support, shouldn’t make me a bad or a good person. You would already judge me based on who I support and be a bad person with me? Then there is something wrong with you and you missed the point of this video. Re watch it. Look at the kindness. No one is judging anyone or asking “do you support Israel?” They are better than you. Re check your values. Learn from the video.
@@zerofoxarmyr u really Jewish because the media has an obsession with throwing the word Jewish around to anyone who converts to a religion like if I converted to Islam that doesn’t make me arab ethnically
First of, thank you Thomas for true journalism. I think we take for granted what we enjoy in our everyday life. Seeing people of Iraq who have seen so much yet smiling and living their lives is so refreshing. Love to the people of Iraq❤
