There is something with Ammar that is so genuine. I am starting to love this guy. I am happy UA-cam recommended Yes Theory, all videos are worth watching. Thank you for a very interesting and mind blowing contents.
I've discovered this channel in 2020 bcs of my brother, forgot about it for awhile and here I am at 4.19 AM in Jakarta, Indonesia watching their videos for he past 3 days. I'm currently struggling with depression and anxiety, watching their video for the past 3 days have inspired me to do something. I walk around my neighborhood for 20 minutes yesterday after isolated myself for 3 weeks in my parents house. Thankyou guys so much for giving me an inspiration to seek discomfort and love myself even tho I still have a really long way to go. Anyway, quick question, how come you guys never come to Indonesia? (Bali doesn't count HAHA)
Ammar couldn't go many places a while back because of his now fixed passport issues. Also, there are a lot of places they haven't been especially in Asia and the fact there are so many countries. been binge watching documentaries from this channel all week and this the first time I'll leave a comment BECAUSE! I discover I like how Ammar's eyes smile throughout this vid, so genuine 🤍🤍🤍
i visited yakutsk for 11 days, it was honestly the best time of my life, the people were so welcoming and i have so many good memories, we were visiting at new years which is very important in siberia so we had a big bonfire ontop of a hill overlooking yakutsk, i remember having a plastic cup of champagne which froze solid :D, the coldest it got when i visited was -42 C weird memory but when i got off the plane my nose hairs froze when i breathed in. i also have a story related to frozen fish at 17:12 we were guests at a very nice restaurant ( the owner was the father of a friend who invited us to yakutsk ) and were having the frozen fish when the owner brought in a hawk/falcon which he had tamed ( he said he found it in the back yard :o ) he made it fly around for some food and then set it on a perch, however he forgot to tie it down and it flew over and landed on my head then stole my frozen fish :D
Man, as a filmmaker myself, I know too well how hard it is to film in the cold. Especially when having to change camera settings which usually requires you to take off your gloves. Well done!
19:00. She got me good right there. Honestly not keen on the word ‘inspire’. It’s used to frequently these days, however, possibly for the first time in my life … I’m inspired. I can only pray to leave these word ‘full’. Amen to you all x
I recently sought discomfort myself. I went to Las Vegas, which I told my family I wouldn't do because I have massive social anxiety and a general distrust of people. I'm so glad I went! Even though there were more people within a half mile of me at any time than are in my entire hometown, I loved it! I realized nobody there cares about you, they're all doing their own thing. Something I'd likely never have done if I didn't remember your motto, so thanks, Yes Theory and Seek Discomfort, for pushing me to do something new!

Ammar, Thomas, Matt ; you all never cease to amaze me in opening my mind and breaking through all the barriers of society and stereotypes. Thank You sincerely for putting project 30 out into this world, never would I have imagined how your content has evolved into stories of such grand experiences and perspectives. This has to be in my top 3 favorite of your videos. Man! Ammar really has a gift being in front of the camera. Infectious positivity!!! ps. the editing is really really well done Thanks guys!
Ammar... If you don't read any other comments today, you need to read this one. Your positivity & your genuine thoughtfulness for everyone you meet, is infectious. I'm fairly new to your channel, a few weeks, however that hasn't stopped me from telling most everyone I know. When I watched this video and watched as you thought of your father along your journey to the pyramid, your sadness and joy touched my soul. In May of 2020 I moved back to my hometown to be close to my Mother, brother & sister. That August, we unexpectedly lost my brother. He was 46. I've lost people close to me before, but never a sibling. This was an entirely new pain. As bad as it was, there was a calm inside me because I knew one day I'd see him again. He passed peacefully in his sleep at 46 yrs young. My mother still lives in the house my brother passed in. Not for much longer, as her landlord is selling the house. My mother is 71, makes $800/month on SSI. I'll be helping her move to a woman's homeless shelter soon as her landlord preps the house for sale. I live in a rooming house so I can't take her in. I'm say all this simply to tell you that, as bad as it was, as bad as it is, Yes Theory and especially YOU AMMAR, infect us with positivity! Mom and I continue to keep our heads up and smile. We remain optimistic, even when we're Uncomfortable 😉 I just wanted to say Thank You, and thank the rest of you. If ever for a second you wonder if your videos make a difference, know that they absolutely do. 100% From New Jersey with love, respect & gratitude. The Campbell Family
Watching yalls videos continues to remind me how beautiful our planet and it's people can be. I was smiling for this entire video, and I cannot wait for the doccu.

@@patrickellis1428 watched and it still doesn't change my mind concerning nfts. As something that has always advertised stepping out of the comfort zone and caring about the world this is just a bad decision all around....
@@BooksRebound NFT is not a bubble! it's just still early in it's development. Not telling you to invest anything right at this moment, but in 10 years from now, it's extremely likely NFT's are all around us in daily life. Projects like this will make people familiar with the technology. We are enjoying the internet right...? or should we go back to a newspaper? Children and young adults typically embrace "change" a lot easier, therefor it will definitely take some time.
Theres some misconceptions going around regarding that. According to the research I've seen from people much smarter than myself on the subject, it looks like there's no real-world difference in environmental impact. To quote from an article: "There is nothing intrinsic to NFTs which makes them destructive to the environment. As of February 2022 we have 20+ NFT platforms and only one of note uses energy as fuel, Ethereum. The rest have negligible environmental impact, no different from when you’re streaming, playing games, using your phone, and so on."
Is the price of nfts too high? You see no problem creators getting paid through Patreon or similar platform, but you see problem selling their work directly? It is only a bubble if you think the value of what they create is lower than the nft
Love how you all make your audience be able to support and help you out. I'm happy to hear you didn't take the movie deal because I feel it allows so much more creativity and possibility for connection to your fans. Celebrating you on what you're doing!

Not sure how I feel about the NFT project, I know you guys are big on the environment so it feels a little conflicted. Regardless of that though, looking forward to the trailer!
It’s ridiculous to support an NFT project that literally pays for the film that is set in the very place that is being destroyed by NFTs, that’s putting aside all of the controversial things about them
I feel the same way. I think since this film has been in production for a while they decided to use NFT's while they were really hot. I can understand why at a glance it seems like a valid way of funding this film but with the care and attention they take towards the environment, towards researching countries and places, and the attention to detail in general, I'm honestly surprised they decided to continue using NFT's. There are much better methods of funding the film. The monetization model for the last documentary was perfect and didn't need to be changed to a slower, higher energy consuming, and ultimately pointless system. The NFT itself would only contain a serial number showing "Ownership" I mean they could just email the serial numbers. I don't see how putting it on a public ledger really makes it easier or simpler to use.

@@zenmasterwannabe Also it's on the Polygon blockchain which is proof of stake, which means it doesn't need the computing power which etheruem or bitcoin need. instead of gasfees (for ease call it computing cost) being 200+ dollars is cost around 2 dollars. therefore decreasing electrical/computing/gasfees cost about 99%. so this has actual minimal enviromental impact.

I do hope they visit your country though, I have always wanted to visit Southeast Asia, I love the food; culture; natural beauty; etc.
You live in a beautiful country!!
And the writing systems of that region (Indonesia as well before they adopted a Latin alphabet) is so beautiful. 😍
Same happened to me, I forgot the name of the channel, the I found it and clicked the notification bell 🔔 so it doesn't happen again.
@@Aronnax777 Hi Miles, thankyou so much for the explanation. I hope the Yes Theory team or also you will come visits us in the near future! Southeast Asian's people is absolutely a very warm and welcoming people when it comes to treat tourists from around the world haha
I really loved Olga, she'd have such an interesting story. Also, I wanna know how the houses manage to stay liveable with the cold..
Really good insulation
I can't speak for these guys but it's common to use moss as insulation (put moss between each log of wood). It's really good.
There are several UA-cam channels about life in Yakutsk and daily problem solving like isolating houses or harvesting drinking water
@@imFruzzy can confirm, my father did it when he built my childhood home. But modern houses use proper insulation materials.
I absolutely agree with you. I have also asked myself the same question .
It’s the story telling, the history, the adventure and the culture!! You guys at Seek Discomfort/Yes Theory are so amazing and I hope you have millions more informative and fun videos! Thank you all.

Wow wow wow..this whole video made me happy seeing how happy and open loving people are and what Olga said at the end i needed to hear made me cry this is so beautiful
been binge watching documentaries from this channel all week and this the first time I'll leave a comment BECAUSE! I discover I like how Ammar's eyes smile throughout this vid, so genuine 🤍🤍🤍
I love how warm the people of Yakutsk feel despite the temperature. Thank you for capturing their spirit so well.
i visited yakutsk for 11 days, it was honestly the best time of my life, the people were so welcoming and i have so many good memories, we were visiting at new years which is very important in siberia so we had a big bonfire ontop of a hill overlooking yakutsk, i remember having a plastic cup of champagne which froze solid :D, the coldest it got when i visited was -42 C weird memory but when i got off the plane my nose hairs froze when i breathed in.
i also have a story related to frozen fish at 17:12 we were guests at a very nice restaurant ( the owner was the father of a friend who invited us to yakutsk ) and were having the frozen fish when the owner brought in a hawk/falcon which he had tamed ( he said he found it in the back yard :o ) he made it fly around for some food and then set it on a perch, however he forgot to tie it down and it flew over and landed on my head then stole my frozen fish :D
This is the most amazing channel on youtube. The inspiration for humanity and storytelling brings us all together. Thank you !
Something I'd likely never have done if I didn't remember your motto, so thanks, Yes Theory and Seek Discomfort, for pushing me to do something new!
yo so proud of you man, that’s incredible!!
Awesome! Congrats!

You are by far my favorite youtube channel. I am so excited to be able to read the book as well, Matt's writing is going to be surreal. I hope Matt is still taking care of himself, never can you rush a masterpiece.

I have never seen anyone happier than Ammar in the cold!!!! I am from Sibiria ( Angarsk) and I know what -40 C feels like. I can’t believe you did the “walrus” in that weather. 🥶. Thank you 🙏😊
I have been so depressed and watching this just made me thankful for waking up another day!!! I would truly enjoy visiting this Place! Sad part is I know i will never but i will never stop dreaming. OMG! It's Drew AND Ammar!! LOVED it!! Thank you for sharing!! I enjoyed this!! The people, their smiles!! Pure joy! Olga!! Miles away she was, but her words of love/heart- reminders of basic essentials, her eyes spoke as if it was solely for me and I was at that table. A discomforting comfort it was. ✌♥😊 Ammar, if u go back..can I go with?
When Thomas is talking in the beginning of the videos it always feels magic.

We remain optimistic, even when we're Uncomfortable 😉
I just wanted to say Thank You, and thank the rest of you. If ever for a second you wonder if your videos make a difference, know that they absolutely do. 100%
From New Jersey with love, respect & gratitude.

Theres some misconceptions going around regarding that.
