This. So much this. There were times where there was a movie I was thinking of for the spot would show up early and I'd get momentarily mad and think, "BUT, MY MOVIE HAS FOUR KINGS!" and then they'd get to their pick and I'd nod my head and go, "All right, four Aces beats four Kings".

I finally watched it last night after owning the bli ray since this video came out (I knew of the animator from before but always forgot it's such a beautiful day) it blew my mind in ways nothing else I have ever watched has
Prince of Egypt is fantastic. Probably didn’t get mentioned because it’s religious and they probably find it “offensive” or some dumb reason like that.
@@fupalover I'm an atheist, and I concur. The music is pretty great, Moses & Rameses have the most complex version of their relationship in any adaptation, and Aaron is voiced by Jeff Goldblum! What's not to love?
What I liked about this is that it wasn't a list of either Disney and Ghibli. You guys considered a lot of studios and a lot of different styles of animation. And for that, I humbly offer a thumbs up and an add to my favorites
@@glennas94 I know right? I even think it's unfair to compare these guys to Watchmojo, it's like comparing fast food to a real restaurant. Cinefix is very passionate about film, Watchmojo feels like their results is based of polls
@@glennas94 Far as I undestand, the ranking on WatchMojo lists are determined through votes by the fans, whereas the people behind CineFix just share what they themselves think is neat. Not trying to defend WatchMojo or anything, it's just I've always found it weird that people are comparing channels that have different critieria for ranking in their videos.
NOW THIS IS A CHANNEL THAT LISTENS TO ITS FOLLOWERS. People were complaining and wanted the white text for the films' names instead of the IGN font, and they brought it back.
I saw this video like 2 months ago and had to comeback. As an animation collector and student in university, this is honestly the highest quality, most comprehensive and inclusive media list I have ever seen. Absolutely fantastic job by IGN - words you probably will never see me utter again.
Thank you for recognizing Don Hertzfeld. His animation is incredible even if it's simple, and although he's more contemporary than most of the artists on the list he's created some really interesting and insightful works that often get criminally overlooked.
Loving Vincent is absolutely insane, thousands of people from all over the world painted every single frame and every scene, it’s visually impossible to entirely take in.
I was surprised too that it was not mention. It a marvel of a movie. There are many that are and I love they said many of my favorites. But I was really surprised that it was not mentioned at all.
Spirited Away just seeing her put on her shoes has more effort and detail that takes a simple task that nobody would notice and makes it fluid and real.
Big ups for giving Don Hertzfeldt the recognition he rightly deserves outside of "Rejected". It's Such a Beautiful Day is a downright transcendental experience
I was actually wondering when the list started if he'd show up somewhere, but as I heard the categories listed out I thought "Hm, no, I'm not sure he'd fit there" for most of them. Towards the end of the video I'd kind of given up hope, because surely they'd go with someone more people are familiar with. I was very happily surprised.
I honestly had no idea he'd made longer work. He lives in my hometown and I loved his comedic shorts. Good to know I have a masterpiece waiting for me some time when I want to be devastated by the beauty of life.
It's one of my favorite movies of all time. It's like being awake and dreaming at the same time. When I saw this video title I immediately knew what would be a #1 in a category.
Thanks for giving hertzfeldt the top spot. It's such a beautiful day is one of my all time favorite films, and I've never felt so seen by a movie. One of the most poignant and powerful works of art I've ever had the pleasure of being a part of.
@@HermanFalckHow I didn't say it was the best movie, did I? You're probably not familiar with the format of this show. They have a list of categories and they give mentions to different movies they like for examples, then they list their favorite pick for that category. To repeat my comment, I wish it would be a mention in this category. That is my opinion. Treasure Planet did a lot of groundbreaking things with their animation and created an amazing atmosphere in the movie (an aspect that they specifically referenced in the video for an example of great visual story telling in animation)., and I feel like that is not appreciated enough. When it comes to the sci-fi category, I absolutely agree that Akira should be the favorite, but (to repeat my comment again because you didn't read it correctly) I wish Treasure Planet got a mention when discussing sci-fi animation movies. I mean, they gave Titan A.E a nod, which came out around similar times, so I feel that Treasure Planet could easily fit in with that and the others listed.
@@happyMOO5 "I didn't say it was the best movie, did I?" ...and neither did the person you were responding to. Your opinion was understood, they just didn't agree that it deserved a mention.
Rango is my personal favorite. There's something very interesting about how they use 3D animation to create such ugly yet charming characters in a medium that always seems so smooth and pretty after years of Pixar and Disney. It's funny, it's gritty, it's surreal, it's packed with action, and it manages to do all of this without sacrificing the quality of any of these elements.
I remember watching Rango in the theater. I had a smile on my face the entire time. The way they filmed Rango was emotion capture. The actors were in costume on a stage performing together and the animators would use film of their performance for reference. Sometimes matching up motion in the video to the 3D characters skeleton in almost a rotoscoping fashion. Industrial Light & Magic exceeded standard motion capture, to make this one feel like a stage performance inside a 3D animated movie.
See this, like all their other videos, is why Cinefix are the kings of Top 10 list. They don't just give an arbitrary 10 ten items based on opinion; they give a thoughtful essay of the strength and weaknesses of the subject matter, splitting each entry into their own category and listing the best of the best in each; each numbered spot surrounded by tons of honorable mentions so you not only get an idea, through example, of what this category entails, but why the numbered movie is the epitome of the class; where the ranking means just about nothing, but provides powerful context, which creates the feeling that the #10 movie is just as important and impactful as #1 or any inbetween. (Also I'm very happy they finally covered animated films especially)
And then he does shit that's somehow the opposite with Fieval Goes West. Scare the existential dread out of adults with a hilarious movie that ends with a dog "retiring" voiced by an old actor.
I adore Don Bluth movies, perhaps moreso than Disney in general. I know there's more Disney to choose from, but Don Bluth is very much near and dear to my heart. Same with Rankin and Bass.
Tbh that's the one to cut. Like it's not bad obviously, but it sticks out like a shot in the face compared to the rest of this. It's not even the best american animated 3D movie about superheroes...
@@HermanFalckHow But it does so much so well, and so uniquely translates comic book tropes into animation in ways that haven't been done (or combined) before, allowing the dynamically changing cinematography of colors, styles, movement and lighting to become a visceral part of each second, telling a story in itself while paying homage to its own multi-faceted history. Compare the experience of watching it with watching another mention like The Lego Movie (not to knock on this great movie!), and it's on an entirely different level. I was pleasantly surprised by its spot, even though I did miss some animated movies in the mentions :)
@@buchichu7034 I love his style; I grew up watching Chicken Run and Wallace and Gromit. My whole family finds them hilarious! But it's not everyone's thing, I get it :)
His depiction of people in claymation scare me, always has. Even the chickens. I’m okay with the dogs, and I like Shaun the Sheep. But please, I cannot stand Wallace 😭😭
What I love so much about you guys is that you give the niche films their deserved spotlight and yet do not diminish achievements of mainstream movies. Keep it up
I love that The Wrong Trousers was shown so much love. There is not one wasted frame in this piece. It's full of heart, funny as hell and a so exciting at end. Absolutely flawless.
I completely understand why it didn't win over everything so much more unique and creative but even just the half second nod to A Silent Voice made my heart hurt as it all flooded back to me.
Yes! There's very few movies that my whole family can watch and all agree that it's a perfect film. A Silent Voice is one of those few. My son, who can be quite cynical, actually cried during this film. He never cries due to a film. This one was gut wrenching and so incredibly beautiful. I truly and deeply love it ❤️
Truly a great film. With a focus on bullying that films, and society in general, tend to ignore and how its victims, and perpetrators can suffer. This alone doesnt make it a great film but the gorgeous and painstaking subtle animation and detail provided by Kyoto Animation. Sadly, on July 19, 2019, an attack was made on one of the studios building killing ultimately 37 people and injuring 36 more- the greatest lose of life in Japan, barring natural disasters, since WW2. Many of those who worked on a Silent Voice are no longer with us. I would like to see Cinefix, and others in general, to address what is possibly the worst attack on a movie studio in history.
As a fan of Japanese cinema, I think I probably won't get over "Millenium Actress" anytime soon. Such a beautiful tale and homage to cinema as a whole. My second pick would be "The Tale of Princess Kaguya", the best of all Ghibli films in my opinion. I missed some category about animated virtuosity, like the most astonishingly animated films ever. Probably Richard Williams' masterpiece "The Thief and the Cobbler" would have got that spot. Really good list overall.
Millenium Actress 1000 years of history celebrated in 100 years of film celebrated in the life and times of one enigmatic actress, and one of the best animated films ever created.
I was legit pissed when Big Hero 6 won the Oscars over The Tale of the Princess Kaguya. It is, imo, the latest Ghibli classic. Tragic that we will never see another Isao Takahata film again.
I was just scanning the comments for someone to bring up "The Thief and the Cobbler"! I really expected it to show up in this video. Such a weird but unique movie and I have yet to meet anyone who remembers it at all.
@@pr0jectSkyneT History corrects many wrongdoings. Big Hero 6 is an ok movie, but nobody remembers it that much anymore because it wasn't anything special. Kaguya on the other hand... As more and more people discover the film, its praise only gets bigger, just as it usually happens with any timeless classic.
I LOVE The Wolf House and I was so happy you brought it up because it really deserves more recognition. Quite possibly one of if not my favourite horror movie of all time. It's stunning and gorgeous but also disgustingly disturbing. Just a one of a kind experience. Also, finally a mention for A Silent Voice THANK YOU
I was so fortunate to see this one in the theatre a couple of years back. It never got a wider release neither in the US nor in Europe. I guess we can just call ourselves lucky to have gotten the chance to see it. :)
As someone who was watched a lot of animation in his 30 years on this earth I can say with some certainty... this is a pretty freaking good list. The inclusion of "The Wrong Trousers" and "It's Such a Beautiful Day" is awesome. For sure gonna check out the other movies on this list that I haven't seen yet.
Although The Lion King is highly regarded as Disney’s best animated film, Fantasia is more innovative and experimental, not only visually through it’s animation, but with it’s technical aspects, combining classical music with classic animation to tell it’s stories in a way cinema had never achieved before. Revolutionary, outstanding and Disney’s greatest accomplishment, in my opinion.
Couldn’t agree more. The fact that the movie still holds up speaks volumes for its technical brilliance, but the fact that it’s still an amazingly absorbing film to watch shows how good of a movie it truly is
The dinosaur sequence in Fantasia is still my idea of what the dinosaur world was like. Excepting the original Jurassic Park, it’s the most dynamic depiction of dinosaurs ever done.
The Lion King is literally one of the worst films Disney has ever produced. Every aspect of it is mediocre at best. Still can't believe how many people keep being fooled by the polish of that film.
I believe Fantasia as stated was wildly ahead of its time and not appreciated for the masterpiece that it is until later. It defined animation for that time and was the benchmark and still to a point is in regard to 2D animation. It inspired lots of artist including myself to create and not only to create but to not be afraid of being different. To push boundaries even if they are uncomfortable.
End of Evangelion, while requiring to watch the series to truly appreciate, still deserves a spot among the most important animated movies of all time but the honorable mentioned makes me happy it's not forgotten
@@jasondoe2596 True, but I do understand the decision-making there. Spiderverse is a standalone story while The End of Evangelion is essentially 2 extended finale episodes to a tv series bundled together in one film. You'd be hard-pressed to find a bigger Evangelion fan than me but I still understand why CineFix would want to leave it out. I'm just happy it got mentioned at all. Though, it's interesting that it was mentioned in the action category - certainly fitting for the first half (episode 25') but I feel like End of Evangelion is remembered more for its second half (episode 26') which is closer to the genre-defying mind-bender they describe in the no. 1 spot. With that being said, I personally think The End of Evangelion is not just one of the best animated films ever made but one of the best films ever period. It's certainly my all time favorite. Beyond serving as a satisfying conclusion to an already fantastic television series, it's also just a mind-expanding piece of filmmaking that truly opened my eyes to the possibilities of the medium.
@@jasondoe2596 Though, to be fair, Spider-Man and the associated characters are so entrenched in popular culture that you'd be unlikely to find someone who doesn't at least recognize a couple of them.
I absolutely love CineFix's film repertoire because I'm seeing films I've never heard of before. I can't even disagree with your list because I haven't seen every entry you mentioned. Thank you for broadening my horizons and being so thoughtful with your lists. 🙂🙏🏽
Thank you for making a list that is a work of art in itself. I'm excited, sad, and educated. The time, effort, and passion that your crew has for film has taught me a lot and helped me appreciate the art form better. I look forward to watching some of these on the list.
Oh and btw : "The Red Turtle" was indeed produced by Ghibli, but it's been directed by the amazing Dutch artist Michaël Dudok de Wit. If you liked this movie, you might want to check his other short films like "The Monk and the Fish" or "Father and Daughter" (which won the 2001 Academy Award for best animated short film)
I don't even care what comes up on this list, you put Sleeping Beauty in the opening shot, and that alone makes me so unbelievably happy. It's a seriously gorgeous, seriously underrated Disney movie. Needless to say, just getting an honorable mention was enough to make me smile. That said, I'm so glad you've done an animated movies list. There's a beauty and artistry in animated movies that doesn't exist anywhere else. They're for adults as much as kids, and they stay with us in ways that grow as we do. So thank you, Cinefix. :D
THANK YOU for putting _It's Such a Beautiful Day_ on my radar. I couldn't tell you what it was about (except "a man in a hat") but it was an absolute masterpiece and a quintessential example of what a single person with a vision can accomplish.
The thing I love the most about this channel, is how they take a look on movies from every single place. They appreciate art from anywhere. And so do I, and many other people who watch this channel. I feel like this is why I love so much their videos.
I'm extremely impressed with this list between the extensive work and research done and the extensive work put into the production value. A truly incredible video.
As always, great choices! Here are my picks, if anyone cares: 10 - Akira 9 - Monsters, Inc. 8 - Howl's Moving Castle 7 - Ratatouille 6 - My Neighbour Totoro 5 - Fantasia 4 - The Iron Giant 3 - Your Name. 2 - Princess Mononoke 1 - Spirited Away
you did top 10 animated films and left out Prince of Egypt? how dare. but on a more serious note, really glad to see this! your top 10s are always so interesting
That scene from the wolf house really creep me out, I'm a Hispanic male who lived two years in Chile, when that voice started calling out in Spanish for a Chilean it was as if it was reaching out my phone personally to me.
Me pusé re feliz cuando caché que iban a hablar de la casa del lobo. Estaba como: ¿Me estái weiando que van a poner a la casa del lobo? Y PUM dice The House of The wolf. Nunca hubiera imaginado ver algo chileno en cinefix.
loved the shout-out to latin cinema! The brazilian O Menino e o Mundo (Boy and the World) e and the chilean La Casa Lobo (The Wolf House) are incredible movies which very much deserved to be in this list!
Spirited Away is a masterpiece but my personal favorite Animated Film of all time is Princess Mononoke. The bottom line is Miyazaki is an artist that makes amazing films with themes that transcend the medium and everyone can learn from.
I'm super pumped that your number 1 is "It's Such a Beautiful Day" I'm familiar with his work and the first time I sat down to watch that film with my partner at the time. I'm a big ole' softie and tend to cry watching films, but by the end of the "It's Such a Beautiful Day", we were literally SOBBING. An incredible film for sure!!
Who knew Don "My Anus is Bleeding" Hertzfeldt would create such an affecting work of art. Also, really happy you called out Persepolis - it's one of my favourites, as well.
The Animated Action Film segment might as well be an apology for not waiting to watch Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse for their Best Films of 2018 list. lol
The movie "The boy and the world" is so beautiful and sensitive ... I was very happy to see you on the list! But here in Brazil, unfortunately, he did not receive the well-deserved attention from the public.
@@marcsoren7 here’s my review and feel free to tell me what you think: “The positives? I admired the core sentiments, and it’s heart generally being in the right place. There are also admittedly, in usual Don Hertzfeldt fashion, creatively simplistic, erratic uses of visuals and sound to convey information effectively, even if, when paired with this movie’s central thematic concerns, it did so in ways that made most of the onslaught of monotone narration feel exhausting and superfluous. It’s clear to me that there’s a short film in here somewhere with a lot more poignancy and charm, and a lot more to actually meaningfully express about anything. Imaginative yes, but an imaginatively insufferable mishmash of arbitrary concepts that feels like a total surface level construction, an empty manipulation in which all the effort has been spent trying to stuff as much that appears as complex or weighty as possible into a single hour. You might counter with “life is random and hard to get a hold of too bruh, that’s why it’s so deep!”, but this presentation style feels entirely like a crutch for what is nothing more than someone’s self serious attempt at making a work of genius, when what’s in their head and what they’re chasing is some generic idea of what art is, rather than it being an earnest expression of what they actually feel. Another thing that felt like a crutch was the use of classical music, and notably pieces that have been used to much greater effect and far more appropriately by Terrence Malick, who isn’t solely relying on the music as a means of appearing deep or eliciting emotion as this does. If you want something animated artistically that says far more about the human condition and additionally doing so in an intelligent, subtextual and unpretentious way, then I highly recommend the works of Satoshi Kon, or films like The Red Turtle or My Life as a Zucchini over this seemingly laborious lecture of sad, simplistic, superficial stick people.”
My picks would be.. 1. Its Such A Beautiful Day 2. Grave of the Fireflies 3. Mary & Max 4. Finding Nemo 5. Spirited Away 6. A Silent Voice 7. Akira 8. La Casa Lobo 9. Rango 10. Waltz With Bashir HMs - The Red Turtle, The Lego Movie, Toy Story 3, The Wind Rises, Your Name. etc etc etc
@@ArthropodSpidey What's your problem man? It's his personal list. You don't attack people for having personal picks. That's just plain stupid. It literally makes no sense at all.
Thief and the Cobbler will always be a ghost for how it was mishandled, but being introduced to it by seeing the "recobbled cut" was an awe inspiring experience
This. This is what I am here for. I know it sounds naïve, but every one of your movie lists makes me cry. Why? I don't know. But it may just be because you guys make me fall in love with movies again and again and again. And I thank you guys for that. Thank you.
I had to watch it in school and was planning on not paying attention but then the first scene caught my attention and I fell in love with the animation. The story is incredible but that animation was the thing that caught my eye and kept it. Such a great film.
CineFix never misses a good nod but this time i think they forgot one, The Adventures of Tintin by Steven Spielberg was a surreal action packed experience bringing incredible flow of scenery to life. I’ve never seen action so beautifully animated like that.
I freaked out when I saw "Boy and The World." It is translated from brazilian portuguese "O menino e o mundo", and it is such a beautiful movie. It is nice to see that someone from brazil can make something truly awesome.
U have made justice for all people on this topic. No biased selections, i can tell just from the shortcuts of the films that have been chosen here. Ghibli was mentioned, pixar, indie.. I have no regrets watching this video. Thank you, all the people worked on this top10.
I was expecting *Ghost in the Shell* for that spot after they mentioned *Animatrix,* but *Akira* is a perfectly understandable alternative. I *am* surprised that neither *Ghost in the Shell* nor *Redline* got even a mention.
@@probablyfacetious2895 I would love to see a Satoshi jobs fiom in the list but atleast he was mentioned as an amazing director so thats pretty good too😅
It's Such a Beautiful Day is an incredible movie and i highly recommend it. Honestly i would argue its more of an experience that has stuck with me even 6 years later.
Wonderful list. I rented Akira on VHS and made my home room watch it during lunch time break and by the end of the week we had a room full of students watching it and I had to pay a massive late fee to the Video Store...totally worth it. I added a picture of Kaneda on our yearbook cover that year as well.
I know, right? I was all, "Animation as high art and you're NOT going to put Millennium Actress number one?! How *DARE* you make such a horrible mista... ... ...oh wait that's fair."
@@TheMikenanners I like Millenium Actress more, but I understand that "It's Such a Beautiful Day" is a bit more universal. A lot of the love I have for Millenium Actress comes from the hundreds of Japanese movies I've watched. Not everybody has this experience. Probably only Japanese cinephiles would really get all of its details and homages.
@@gab_gallard I also love that Japanese cinema layer of it as you do, but as a movie about life, memory, nostalgia and coping with mortality I still think it hits harder on a universal level, especially if average the viewer is willing to empathise with the cultural elements they have no frame of reference for. I would’ve been less bothered if it’s such a beautiful day was placed in some other category of ‘minimalist animation’ or something, because while my opinon of it might improve in the future I don’t think it is anywhere near Kon’s work, while it certainly presents and seems to think of itself as the most profound work of genius of all time.
Welcome to Cinefix's top 10 where all 10 are #1 and if a film got a mention or a clip, you should be happy.
They mention some great movies I've never heard of. Probably one of the best channels that do this
This. So much this. There were times where there was a movie I was thinking of for the spot would show up early and I'd get momentarily mad and think, "BUT, MY MOVIE HAS FOUR KINGS!" and then they'd get to their pick and I'd nod my head and go, "All right, four Aces beats four Kings".
cinefix is the only channel I bother watching those kind of lists, I don't think many channels know how to make it interesting
Well... Spider-Verse does kinda stick out among these giants to be honest. Clip worthy sure. Not even close to one of the best animated movies ever.
Amen!!

I watched 'It's Such a Beautiful Day' not long after I first saw this video and my partner and I were in tears by the end. So thanks for that.
I finally watched it last night after owning the bli ray since this video came out (I knew of the animator from before but always forgot it's such a beautiful day) it blew my mind in ways nothing else I have ever watched has
I’m happy there’s a mention of “Song of the Sea.” I was hoping for “Prince of Egypt” though. That’s a masterpiece for me.
Prince of Egypt is fantastic. Probably didn’t get mentioned because it’s religious and they probably find it “offensive” or some dumb reason like that.
Should definitely have been mentioned at the very least.

Ohhhh yes! That's one thats always underrated but has such a cult following. It's up against some big hitters though, damn.
I agree, such a good film!
I agree. It's a good movie. It has nothing to do on an all time best list though.
@@HermanFalckHow then I guess you missed the point.
Loved the setting and visuals. One of my favorites
This is the only channel that captures the reasons why I love film perfectly in every single video. Thank you for that.
It's Such A Beautiful Day hurts so bad. But it's so moving. Hertzfeld is a master of storytelling.

And then he does shit that's somehow the opposite with Fieval Goes West. Scare the existential dread out of adults with a hilarious movie that ends with a dog "retiring" voiced by an old actor.
Kinda sounds like G.O.B. Bluth
As the wise James Willems of Funhaus once said, 'Don Bluth tak-ke da kids and mek dem sad... Sad-duh kidoz!'
I adore Don Bluth movies, perhaps moreso than Disney in general. I know there's more Disney to choose from, but Don Bluth is very much near and dear to my heart. Same with Rankin and Bass.

I completely understand why it didn't win over everything so much more unique and creative but even just the half second nod to A Silent Voice made my heart hurt as it all flooded back to me.
It's a beautiful coming of age story of regret, atonement, and love.
I think millenium actress is the only movie I've watched as may times as Pan's Labyrinth

Agreed.
Also, ironic that it lost its place for that reason to that "spiderverse" thingy, which requires familiarity with, well, the spiderverse.
@@marcsoren7 I take it you didn’t agree lol
I'm very happy that Anomalies got a little love here. Such a special and overlooked gem

Umm Spider-Man? Idiot
rango is a really underrated flick
You got some great choices there.
@@ArthropodSpidey What's your problem man? It's his personal list. You don't attack people for having personal picks. That's just plain stupid. It literally makes no sense at all.
Good Choices
To be honest, I didn't expect the content to actually stay the same, but I couldn't be happier to see it. Still the best channel on youtube!!!
Thank you.
Was so pumped that not only did they mention "Persepolis," they ranked it #2. I hate it doesn't get more recognition
The graphic novel is insanely good. I’ve never seen the film though.
@@realistic_delinquent SEE IT
I had to watch it in school and was planning on not paying attention but then the first scene caught my attention and I fell in love with the animation. The story is incredible but that animation was the thing that caught my eye and kept it. Such a great film.
i'm so happy Boy and the World finally got the recognition it absolutely deserves :)))
I mean, it's cool that cinefix mentioned it, but the movie got an oscar nomination...
r/suddenlycaralho
@@TheJustproxy no i know it's just less famous than pixar or ghibli animated films :) im really happy it's on this list
it should have won the oscars that year, it's a fantastic movie
CineFix never misses a good nod but this time i think they forgot one, The Adventures of Tintin by Steven Spielberg was a surreal action packed experience bringing incredible flow of scenery to life. I’ve never seen action so beautifully animated like that.
💯
That was more cgi
@@Masiba7517 "Toy Story" was one of their picks and it's 100% CGI. Animation is animation regardless of medium.
Yes, I love that one!
Well observed bro, absolutely agree
The lack of mention for Road to El Dorado is painful, one of the best comedy movies of the 90s/00s animation renaissance
So happy to see the "CineFix" brand survived the transition
Richard Williams 1972 Oscar winner 'A Christmas Carol'. 25 minutes of atmospheric genius
I’m happy to report that IGN hasn’t taken your soul. You remain the CineFix I’ve always loved. Deep dive, art loving listicles. Thanks!
Akira is way ahead of its time , a masterpiece
I was expecting *Ghost in the Shell* for that spot after they mentioned *Animatrix,* but *Akira* is a perfectly understandable alternative.
I *am* surprised that neither *Ghost in the Shell* nor *Redline* got even a mention.
@@probablyfacetious2895 I would love to see a Satoshi jobs fiom in the list but atleast he was mentioned as an amazing director so thats pretty good too😅
@@probablyfacetious2895 Ghost in the shell got a clip shown
@@probablyfacetious2895 they had a clip from ghost in the shell in there for a second and a half
Heavy Metal and/or Sturgill Simpson Presents Sound & Fury deserved at least a honorable mention.
Wow, pleasantly surprised to see a brief, one second shot for Adolescence of Utena lol
I was about to angrily comment that Millenium Actress only got a mention but It’s Such A Beautiful Day absolutely earns it
oh good I was hoping some satoshi kon got some recognition.
I know, right? I was all, "Animation as high art and you're NOT going to put Millennium Actress number one?! How *DARE* you make such a horrible mista... ... ...oh wait that's fair."
I strongly feel Millennium Actress is a better movie but to each their own.
