I see photos of Madeline Soto and I don’t see a child, I see a grown up, a world weary face with dark circles under the eyes and worry etched all over it. I couldn’t believe it when I first read she’d just turned 13. How a mother could have looked at this child and not known that she was suffering is impossible to accept. I hope she’s charged soon.

It is possible. If he only did it while she worked and threatened Madeline to keep her silent. There would have been signs that something was wrong, but it is possible Madeline didn't tell her mom. Another possibility, that she did know something but he threatened Jen as well. Fear is powerful. Hopefully if she did know and he didn't threaten her, that she will also face charges.

Yeah, it was going on since she was 8 years old. I find it hard to believe Jen wasn't aware of it, she also didn't seem very distraught at the time Madeline went missing. She also changed her story of what happened Monday morning during an interview, she was definitely protecting her boyfriend.

Prosecutor Do Not make a Plea Deal with this woman. Find numerous charges and Prosecute her to the full extent of the law. She could not even phone 911 to let Police know her daughter was missing, she had a female relative phone.
This is what I can't figure out. Was she learning disabled? She worked so she has some sort of intelligence at something. Also how Sterns acted like a baby when he gave the interviewers a statement. Something isn't jiving with Jennifer.

I would be pledging for help with tears and snot running down my face, from any and all with the public, police, and anyone that would listen. You can stay single, but pedophiles can be the teacher, coach, doctor or a neighbor. Pedophiles like to hang out with or work around children. And he was a boyfriend and not married to her and a stepdad. A step-boyfriend? And she seemed to be busy working and leaving the girl unsupervised and around the boyfriend. @@tinaschultz1976she didn’t lie to them, any dummy knows full well, the mother thought her daughter was missing, & they have no proof of what time she died. The actual murder charges have her being dead between 3 days, Sunday - Tuesday, meaning she was alive on Monday when she was in the car.

I was a juror on a child molestation case and it was just awful. I will never be the same because of what I heard and saw. I can’t imagine having to endure this horrible act😢
I’m a Judicial Assistant and we recently had a rape case with 47 charges. 2 victims beginning at 8 years old for 10 years. the guy was convicted of 34 charges out of the 47. His sentencing is in July and he’s looking at life in prison. it’s hard job sometimes..
I’m so effing tired of these disgusting “moms” getting away with obvious negligence in the death of their children. I demand accountability as a woman and mother. No double standard anymore.

I think this monster-mother sacrificed her daughter to the devil.
Even is she was threatened and that’s a big if, there is not a single person walking this planet who can do or say anything to make a good mother lie for him and preserve her own life at the expense of her daughter, she’s either a co -defendant, have a charge of her own or locked up for hindering a police investigation. There is a single mother on this earth who gave her child to her bf because she didn’t want to lose him. It was a horrible case here in Germany a few years ago. An undercover officer found videos of the abuse online during an investigation and found out where the abuse was going on and who the victim was. The 9 year old boy was saved. He even was sold to other men and was told they were police and would shoot him if he didn’t comply or if he told anyone. His grandmother said she didn’t see a dramatic change in the boy, only that he loved to play games on his device. You can’t always see when a child is suffering and not all mothers care.
But I will say because of that reason it’s not sure that the mother knew. Some abusers tell the child the mother would be killed if the child told anyone. That’s also facts
I think he took advantage of her mental illness and groomed her for a long time before grooming Maddie. Maddie should not have been in the home if Jen had such a mental illness. It's all just sickening and so sad.
Not as uncommon as you may think. I grew up in a dysfunctional family, where my father assaulted my older sister, whom I actually shared a bedroom with, so it was done with me in the bedroom, asleep in my own bed, for several years. My mother was in total denial of it. I wasn't aware of it until I was in my 40s. She moved out of the house when I was 9 years old, to get away from him. She ran away to my brother's house, refused to come home when he came to get her to bring her home, at the age of 15. My brother refused to let her come out of the house, to protect her from my father. The sheriff was called to resolve the issue, and she refused to go home with him. Sheriff's deputies gave her the option... go home with my father, or be taken to Juvenile Hall, and enter into the foster care system. Guess what she chose? Foster care. Now, if he wasn't doing something to her that she knew was wrong, why would she voluntarily choose the foster care system? That provides legitimacy to what her claims were... it was like Maddie, wanting to go live in the woods to get away from her abuser. Why would Maddie want to get away from her mother, her home where she had comforts, school, etc.? It provides legitimacy to the claims of abuse that we now know of.
Maddie's mother had been gaslit by Stearns, manipulated by a narcissist who had nefarious means towards her daughter, but Jenn was in denial of all that she was experiencing, herself. That's how good Stearns is. Jenn didn't want to lose a man who was supposed to be in love with her, but he never was. She now knows differently, and that's a tough nut to accept, which is likely why she has gone silent... busily processing everything that has been going on, now realizing that she's been lied to for those entire 7 years, and because of that denial, she's lost her daughter forever. Leave her alone, let her go through her grieving process. She truly is a psychological mess right now. On TOP of her bipolar depression. Could be she's in a treatment facility.
Even if the mother isn’t involved, I just CAN NOT believe she didn’t know about any abuse that happened to her daughter in 5 years ! How could that actually be possible ?
I called it! That’s exactly what I keep saying. She stayed at Stephan’s house because Jen was going to be working late. He killed her overnight. She probably rejected his advances or he got too rough and killed her. Jen should be charged for lying and specifying what Madeline was wearing when she had no idea at all. She never saw her that morning. Madeline never went back home after the party. I knew it!
Snap! I said this, too. She maybe did pop past with Stephan to lure Mom to believe she was in bed, and Stephan then took Maddie off to do his dirty deed. But she couldn't have seen her getting dressed at 8am. She seems to be completely oblivious to what and where Maddie was. The way Stephan lurks around in the background of her interview, cracking his knuckles etc my stomach was in a knot.
The last interview Jen gave, she starts putting the pieces together and she all of a sudden after she admits she didn't take her only Stephan drove her, she starts shaking uncontrollably. I think she was just repeating what she'd been told and was only then herself fully hearing it and realising that the story didn't add up...

I just really struggle to believe a Mom could know this was happening to her daughter and didn't do something. It's despicable. Poor Maddie 😪 I'm sure if Mom is involved. The police will figure it out, and she'll be charged. And if she is just a gullible mum with adhd and bipolar disorder, then she will not be charged and will probably need to give evidence at court and receive medical psychological help. Either way, this whole case is so sad and will impact me for the rest of my life, I can't imagine how her father and her family are getting through it. God bless them.

She didn’t text one friend or family member about her party or the gifts she supposedly was so happy with? Something probably happened Sunday night and the mom is in on the cover up telling us she seen her Monday morning.
She didn’t say that. She said she didn’t go to school with her cell phone and her school computer was turned off so could not be located
If she said good night to Madie on the phone, how does she know if she texted, talked or emailed anyone? She's speaking like She was not going to see her that night

I personally have never had my Mom or anyone else hold a birthday party for one of my kids, if I had to work that day we had birthday party on day I was off.
This whole story about her working that day is absurd. Maddie's mom apparently worked from home. She could have been at the birthday party.

A lot of people claim to have never known what their kids went through... which usually means, "there were warning signs and red flags but I chose to bury my head in the sand because it was easier on me not to investigate or learn something terrible"
This case is going to grow bigger and sicker as the evidence is uncovered. Mom knew Madeline was dead that morning. Stephan and Jenn had no idea there would be video showing Stern dumping Madeline’s school laptop and backpack in the dumpster at 7:35. From the moment that video was revealed, I was convinced Jenn is involved at some level. Her interviews have so many red flags for me. Both of these scumbags need to, at the very least, spend the rest of their pathetic lives in prison! If there was ever a case for the DP, this is it!

She will be a co defendant. She knew what occurred with Madeline. She gave two interviews. Which she told lies. She couldn't remember the first lies told. Her written sworn statements were taken by Law Enforcement and now her story is "locked" in. She can't back pedal. She didn't participate in searching for Madeline. She didn't attend the services for Madeline. Watching the POS's interview burns my stomach. She won't be granted immunity. She's now in hiding. The gofundme money is paused. Where is the $16K? Mom shows no empathy. The POS's interview reminds me of the interview with Chris Watts knowing he slaughtered his entire family.
I told everybody do not give any money to any GoFundMe raised by her mother. Foolish. We can pay to have a nice headstone and a nice cemetery location through the funeral home. I'm sick of these stories every time you turn around.

If she was pregnant it would have reflected in the charges against him and florida does have murder charges against unborn children of murder victims. She was probably overweight a little bit because she was thirteen and going through puberty and a lot of times girls gain weight during this time. Stress also creates more of the hormone called cortisol, as well as emotional eating.Could all contribute to her looking a little chunky. For me it's her eyes her little face. That poor little baby. You could see the stress in those little eyes.

It does seem like Stephan did something to cause an altercation with Maddie just after the party. Jen is absolutely lying. I think Jen is afraid that if Stephan is going down, so is she due to what she knows about potentially years of abuse. I don't care where I worked, I'd be taking the day off for my daughter's birthday party especially a milestone birthday like becoming a teenager. You can often take a vacation day, trade shifts, etc. I don't care, I'd definitely be there.
Jens mother gave an interview to telemundo saying she does not know why Ss was there ( at the party) so he must have drove Maddie to the party . The grandmother might have disapproved Jens and SS relationship, there seems to be estrangement between Jen and her own mother (Maddie’s Grandma) but that’s just my impression.
But remember her Bday party wasn’t on her Bday. Maddie’s Bday is 2/22 and her party was on 2/25. But I agree I would never miss such a milestone Bday such as that!
Yes the grandmother is cold-sounding and slim, but Jen was meek and grew to be obese. Plus Jen has mental health issues and we never hear about grandpa. I wonder if Jen was also abused and her mom was uncaring, so she turned a blind eye to Maddie’s suffering. Intergenerational trauma.

I was abused for years and pregnant at 13 mothers husband/adopted father Dennis Siles Beauchaine never got justice. I'm sure he's done it again and again. I think my mother knew. I was given to the state of Florida. They emancipated me at 15 my son and I were on our own 15. I couldn't read right spell. I was abused from as far back as I can remember. Never got justice. I would love help getting justice I have DNA.

As an empath, I felt nothing in moms voice when she was pleading for her daughter and her safety. The story doesn’t add up at all. I think they were both selling Maddy to keep their home and I think this loser was abusing her while mom was working. Mom knew something was going on! She knows!
