This is a 25 Min Full Body Hourglass Pilates workout. It can be done with no equipment, or use weights- either ankle weights or dumbbells, to increase the challenge. This workout focuses on upper body- specifically the shoulders and back, lower body- glutes, and core work. I have seen many pilates hourglass abs workouts on UA-cam, and to me, this is not the most effective way to train for a more hourglass shape than what you currently have. While we cannot change our genetic shape, we can train in a way that influences where muscle grows, and this can have an effect on the symmetry of the way we look. This is something I learned many years ago during my time in the bodybuilding world, and I really appreciated the shift from exercising to lose and shrink a certain area to building and growing a shape we love. If you repeat this workout, do your best to add more weight as the workout gets easier. For this workout, we combine upper and lower body in many of the exercises, but I also encourage you to train upper and lower body on separate days. I hope this workout gives you a better idea of how to train for a more hourglass shape if that is a goal of yours. And if not- enjoy the variety of exercises and fun mix of pilates and strength!

Day 2 of 30 day hard challenge is completed 🙂. My core is on 🔥. Also, I completed my 30 min outdoor activity. I ran 1 1/2 miles for 50 mins with my 4 children at an outdoor track. I loved it and they had a blast. My diet is going great. My fitness pal helps me stay on track within my calories range. Thanks again Rachel for a great core etc workout today. Day 2 of 30 day hard ✅ - no rain today so first little run (been a while) 2.5k run and 1.5k brisk walk home with my other half. Feeling great 😊 Never in my 56 years on this planet have I looked forward to exercising each day, previously it’s always been a chore. Day 2 complete. I will def come back to this one with ankle weights and dumbbells. Loved every minute of this workout. Soon to be out walking my sweet dog. I love the outdoor requirement of this challenge as it is really forcing me to get out for walks which is exactly what I need, even though it's still very chilly here in NH!

Hello, just started the 30 day hard challenge. This day was awesome! Noticing I get cramps in my feet or calves, anyway to avoid that? It’s not a lot, very occasionally. Thanks! You’re so great at what you do!❤
aw thank u! I get cramping in my feet when pointing if I need to hydrate. I usually try to drink water or an electrolyte drink like Liquid IV before I film or workout! hopefully that helps:)
I can see how the ankle weights would make an addition to this workout for the legs and arms. ❤

Please HELP! Can somebody tell me where to find ALL 28 days for this Full Body Hourglass Pilates challenge? I've only been able to find days 1, 2 and 9. I've done 1 and 2 and -- I L O V E it!--- Such a beautiful workout that is both gentle and strong. I'm new to pilates and I'm hooked; I love Rachel's approach and easy flow. Day two of 30 done! This is my 3rd challenge, and they just keep getting harder and harder! 😅 I've never counted calories before, so this is interesting. I wonder how many calories one of these videos burns. I weigh more than I ever have before, so it's taking a while to lose weight even though I eat a pretty healthy vegan diet.
its hard to say bc everyone is different! and for the weight, esp if we are exercising more than usual, we can be gaining muscle but also losing fat, so even if the scale doesn't move, our body composition can still be changing!
I realky love this woekour! Is pilates something I need to change up daily or can I camp out on one woekout for a while?
Yes u can do the same one daily if u like! If it starts to feel easy u can move on ☺️

I am new to Pilates..is the idea that you need to add cardio at a different time or is this considered a complete workout? I feel like I’m getting a great body workout, but wonder about the cardio. Thanks
yes it's a complete workout.. we do have some days of cardio but the majority of it is pilates/strength training :) but you can do cardio on your own if you like more!

The arm elbow bent side rise hurts my thighs more then anything else idk what I’m doing wrong😕
I would try moving your other hand (the one that is supporting u while the other arm is moving)… try it closer to your body and further away and see if it makes a difference in how much your thighs have to work!

How do you stay balanced? I must not have ANY core strength.
It’s a ton of work on the core and even the back muscles! That’s why I try to “layer” how hard it gets.. if u can’t do the version I do, it’s totally ok, just keep your foot on the ground for example or lift up a small amount from the floor. But don’t let it discourage you 🙂 This will definitely be one where u can come back & see progress!
