always love that this channel includes showing how to fix miters that need just a little help, and giving a new wood combination a shot. Like - an honest example of how a real woodshop project typically goes. Can we just have some fun???
15 seconds in and I hit that like button. I love the opening. I felt like you were going to say, 'This video is brought to you by bacon.'. Great stuff!
Enjoying one of my favorite woodworking channels then RECORD SCRATCH you open plastic baggies with a fabric cutting wheel! My life is changed forever!! 😮😮😮 😜
Hey David. I'll definitely be placing an order for your new books. I have the Bandsaw one for years and have had a blast making some of those boxes. Unfortiunately *steps 20 to 23 are missing from the Chicago box.* I figured it was just my copy and let it slide but one of your screen shots on your site shows that it does indeed jump from step 19 to 24. Maybe those steps could be made available as a PDF or something?
@@MakeSomething ha ha problem solved! Looking forward to reading the new books. My wife saw a few things from the kitchen book images that she’s insisting I make for her. Thanks brother.
I knew i liked your videos but i just realised im a total fanboy of yours because it been a few weeks before you have posted so i was searching for your videos in case i missed it
I learned carpentry from old guys who were set in their ways, like color combinations. That being said, the Cherry and old English works for me. I don't know why but I've always been drawn to the things that are not typical, out of the norm. thanks for sharing this
Whoa gurl - just those first few seconds is enough to buy that book! ;) Such a great and easy design, but well executed - and also very hilarious video.
David-I’m sure it’s a ton of work but please, please, please keep creating books...ordered your most recent and have the other two...love your work, love your channel, and love your spirit!
First thought: man that tape is gunna hurt coming off. I like the simplicity of the design. The almost orange colour of the splines gives it a subtle highlight. Thank you
The opening was priceless! It really made me laugh, especially seeing your hat still in its usual place! 🤣 Love your videos Dan and don’t let anyone stop you being you!!
This. We need more of this in 2021... and of course by 'this' I am referring to more shirtless Picciuto in 2021! I am stoked to get my copy and cannot wait to make projects and show them off shirtless!!
Superb project and incredible beautiful. I am also happy to see your shop as net and clean, that Philippine flag hang on your wall was funtastic. Keep on going sir, your avid fan from Philippines 😊😎👏
First of all: great ad read. Completely forgot it was a an ad read. Question: what was going on with the eggs there? Did you add water and then close the lid? What for? Great build overall. I need to check out the book.
It looks like he started by frying them and added water and a lid to steam them. I've never seen that done before. I'm curious whether the white was cooked/ yolks were still runny or not! I'll try it out later lol
@@SomebodyRandom717 Looks like an excellent solution to cooking eggs sunny side up but with a little hardened yolk on top to punch thru with crunchy toast 🤪
@@SomebodyRandom717 that’s what I thought too. I normally just fry em in the pan I used for bacon. Sometimes on my cast iron I’ll just cook em all together. Glad I’m not the only one who saw that and was like “hold up, what?” Lol
That was literally the exact same breakfast I made myself this morning! Except no handmade breakfast tray.... That English Walnut sure looks pretty! I'll have to see if I can get some of that.
Hey David, love your vids. Wanted to say, one thing I can't believe you haven't made yet is an acoustic cell phone speaker. So easy and cool. And with Valentine's coming up you could make where the opening in the front of the speaker is heart shaped. Just an idea, keep up the awesome work.
Nice neat little project. I cannot afford the expensive tools (like the table saw you shown) I see in yours and other UA-camrs' videos but I think this may be one of the few projects I can do with my Dremel and a handsaw.
beautiful project and excellent timing! i've been wanting to make one of these for a while now and this is a lovely and very approachable design. i also have to say that i really felt and enjoyed your calmer pace in this one. you should have breakfast in bed more often ;-)
You can easily change this to a folding laptop table or create an insert for one. Maybe cut out a grove on the inside to set in the insert. And then cut out a long hole on the insert to hold a tablet.
Gotta agree on the wood combo. 😂 Even so, we really appreciate the tutorial - we need to make something like this, but for a portable laptop stand to move around the house.
Very nice, still waiting for the version that has wireless charging, an epoxy river, and a secret compartment but all that aside i still really enjoyed this video and project, i didn't think the cherry accents were too bad but yeah going lighter or maybe even darker would have probably looked better, but for using what you had i would still buy that serving tray
the walnut and cherry mix might age well. i once made a shaker two stepper from them and walnut has lightened as the cherry has darkened. mine was american walnut though. regardless, great video on so many levels (the DWW humor always comes through perfectly!) and CONGRATS on your THIRD book!!!!!
You serve a Royal with cheese on that? :) A couple years ago I needed to make 9 picture frames. I considered making them with my chop saw and tuning them up with my miter trimmer, but that sucks. Came across your picture frame sled, so I made a modified version of that (glued the square to a sub-panel instead of shims, so it's always square to itself, but adjustable). I also used the blue tape method for clamping, and purposely left the tape on for the splines, since the wood I was using was splintery. The glue cleanup is MUCH easier, so I'll be doing that from now on!!
You chose two woods that change color with age and UV exposure. Most walnuts get lighter and cherry for sure gets darker. When this gets handed down to your grandchildren, it will look different. Nice job, nice project!
Two firsts in UA-cam woodworker channels; haven’t seen anyone cooking or lying in bed on video. Pushing the limits in 2021!
That's the best intro and sponsor presentation of all time !!
🙏

Im glad I am not the only one who makes videos covered in sawdust. My table saw suction suxs. Keep on rocking!
Actually the orange looks really good as contrast
Ordered the new book to complete my collection. Can’t wait for another Ken Craft open house !!!

The opening gave this video any automatic thumbs up 👍
Hahah!!!
that cherry will darken nicely and will be a nice contrast in a year or two

You're the only woodworker on UA-cam I'm able to estimate project time based on the movies you watch in the shop.
Ha!
The rolling cutter to open the hardware bags was awesome! Nice touch!
Sneaky sneaky putting the 'ad' at the beginning! And those eggs and bacon! Mmmmm. Had me riveted!
Lovely video. Never had a square space ad make me hungry before!

Definitely this video earned you a book purchase!

Look at this guy over here with a Mary Poppin's coffee mug! I need to get myself one of those!!!
I liked the "never filling" coffee cup and the OLFA cutter to open the bags. I also liked the project! Thanks Sir!

Lyssa nailed it. I use the steam to cook the tops of the eggs. I can’t recall where I learned that trick but it works great!

I love that Pulp Fiction was on the TV!! Best movie EVER🥰
David nails the making it podcast fear like a boss... Also nails the fear of tape on chest hair!!! 😂😂😂👊🏻😜 Respect man!
That was literally the exact same breakfast I made myself this morning! Except no handmade breakfast tray.... That English Walnut sure looks pretty! I'll have to see if I can get some of that.
I can't believe how quick you're working. It looks like only 20 minutes has gone by on Pulp Fiction playing in the background!
It’s deceptive. We played the movie twice.
Hi Janet uh... I mean David. The video is great. I kind of like the walnut and cherry combination. I think it will grow on you :)
Loved the continuous coffee pour. ☕😂 Great video.
I like the cherry/walnut combo
This video had it all... nip slips, pulp fiction, woodworking, CameraDan, and bacon
they left in the nip slip right at the very end 😜
I did a spit take at the nip slip! 🤣
