- 22 days old now, I've been handfeeding him/her since day 7........
It's amazing to watch the transformation from a tiny hatchling to a fledgling.
It's Not imposible to hand raise a Zebra Finch, When I started feeding at day 7 I was using the flat end of a toothpick and here we are on day 22 he now eats from a 3 ml syringe.
This has been a Very Rewarding Experience, we have a very close bond :) - Домашні улюбленці та дикі тварини
"NO SEEBS!!!!! I WANT MUSH!!!"
he or she is like, no im not full and i dont want any seed lol
Aaaaw he thinks you´re his mom XD
I used to feed my baby finches over 3 months and held each of them every night in my hand. The finches' parents will only feed and take care of them around a month then attacking them badly. I used to feel sorry for the young which are left in the cage with their parents.
You're so patient with the little birdy! It's so nice :o)
god I love this sound. Its absolutely cute!
i'm looking after 4 of these little bastards, about a week of insomnia but i love them to bits.
Once you hand feed baby finches, you will feel very attached to them and addicted to baby finch feeding!
Awwwwwww sweet lil baby! I really miss the finches my grandparents had ) loved the little beeps and chirps :3
The cutest thing I ever seen !! So adorable

lmao he's so dang cute!!! One seriously hungry birdee! :D
He is so F**king CUTE !!!!!!!!!!! lol
Way 2 cute
💖💖💖
Btw, how do you know he's "full"? Is it just by how much you measure? I see later on you knew he was hungry but wanted him to eat seed. You know how some animals will eat and eat and gorge themselves....I'm just curious if a bird will stop eating when full.
Luv it too much
Cute little Bird :) How are he now? :)
que querido .adorei
im hand feeding mine and he doesnt do that i have to hold him still to feed him this is awesome !
Smollll
No one admits that feeding birds by syringe does not spoil the bird to not peck seeds for food. No one will admit that birds die because they refuse to learn how to eat seeds. From finches to parakeets to cockatiels, syringe feeders kept it secret that it is not a good idea to raise birds that way.
awwww that's sweet :D
what's the recipe for his food?
Cool 😃👍 !The egg broke itself in your hand so that the bird loves you so much and is not afraid you hand ? Hein ?
no, I pulled him from the nest at 9 days old to begin the taming process...
I knew it ;)
This video is from 2009 and I'm just now watching it (2009). How is Bevis? Is he still alive and well?
I guess you don't have other adult finch around because once the finch grows bigger, he/she tends to follow their species.
i wanted to know what that in the syringe is ? and with what were you feeding him when you used a toothpeek ? :)
So when you started handfeeding your bird, did the parents reject him?
dont they fly away
what did you feed the little guy?
So sorry he is tiny 😍 and sweet and cute. But he should be with his tres mother .. she Would teach him how to eat it...😭
Maria Carvajal it's actually much better for most birds to be hand fed for the last two weeks so that they are able to bond to their humans as well as their flock members and parents. Birds are generally very easily stressed and that can not only lower the quality of their life, it can also kill a bird who is not getting the right diet and exercise (most pet birds don't get enough exercise which makes their already small hearts Also weak). Hand feeding gets rid of most of the stress they would normally be experiencing in their life (cleaning their cage, getting them back to their cage for the night, general interacting, emergency treatment etc. is more often than not very stressful unless done in a particular way).
If they were to live in a huge outdoor aviary, this would not be nessesary, but it's very beneficial for the bird and its owner to have a good bond, and the best way to do that is to hand raise a chick from around the age of 10 days old (around the time they open their eyes).
Hope that explained it :)
Correction, 7 days old
Can u email me so I can ask a few questions I just adopted a finch she said is is 60 days old and a zebra finch but it's much smaller than ur 22 day old I would like to send u a pic of it maybe u can help me identify her
