Hand Fed Zebra Finch 22 days old

22 days old now, I've been handfeeding him/her since day 7........ It's amazing to watch the transformation from a tiny hatchling to a fledgling. It's Not imposible to hand raise a Zebra Finch, When I started feeding at day 7 I was using the flat end of a toothpick and here we are on day 22 he now eats from a 3 ml syringe. This has been a Very Rewarding Experience, we have a very close bond :)

My 17 day old zebra finch on my living room floor hopping around, practicing his singing. Already starting to hop and flap his wings! Too cute!

13 Day Old Hand-Tamed Zebra Finch (PT. 2)
No one admits that feeding birds by syringe does not spoil the bird to not peck seeds for food. No one will admit that birds die because they refuse to learn how to eat seeds. From finches to parakeets to cockatiels, syringe feeders kept it secret that it is not a good idea to raise birds that way.
it's a boy
If you ever want environmental enrichment, create them in a bunch of at least 5

Maria Carvajal it's actually much better for most birds to be hand fed for the last two weeks so that they are able to bond to their humans as well as their flock members and parents. Birds are generally very easily stressed and that can not only lower the quality of their life, it can also kill a bird who is not getting the right diet and exercise (most pet birds don't get enough exercise which makes their already small hearts Also weak). Hand feeding gets rid of most of the stress they would normally be experiencing in their life (cleaning their cage, getting them back to their cage for the night, general interacting, emergency treatment etc. is more often than not very stressful unless done in a particular way). If they were to live in a huge outdoor aviary, this would not be nessesary, but it's very beneficial for the bird and its owner to have a good bond, and the best way to do that is to hand raise a chick from around the age of 10 days old (around the time they open their eyes). Hope that explained it :)
I have two and they laid 4 eggs.Do you need to feed the baby's anything?
So impressed
ماشاء الله .الله يبارك ويزيدلك من فدلوا

That is so sweet!.💖
Bevis visits his parents in jail. His mother committed armed robbery and theft of birdseed and millet, and his father assaulted another finch at the food bowl. Both parents have added charges of child abuse for pecking Bevis when he was in the cage with him. They're goin' away for a long time. Lol, jk. They're so cute! I have a pair of my own now, and they've recently started nesting. I love zebra finches. <3
This is the literal definition of a ball of cuteness
Not sure if you're still replying to comments, but I had a question about male and female zebra finches. I'm in the process of building an indoor aviary that takes up the majority of my living room, and was planning to keep exotic finches. I wanted to start with a zebra finch, but not for while (at least until the aviary was ready). Me and my boyfriend (we live together) got in a big fight the other day, and he was way out of line. He went out with my car, and returned with a little box from petsmart with something scurrying around inside. I asked what it was, but she said "It's a surprise!" He impulse bought two mice recently (grrr, I'm against impulse buying) so I figured from the sounds in the box that it was a hamster or something. I opened the box, and inside was the sweetest little zebra finch I've ever seen. I was on the verge of tears because she was so sweet, and then she darted out of the box! She is free-flying in my bedroom now (she has been eating and drinking and is very happy) and I quickly finch-proofed my entire room. The people at the store said she was DEFINITELY female. This morning, I was talking to her softly while she sat up on her favorite perch (the ceiling fan, which I deactivated so it can't turn on) and she started making the same noise that your male finch is making. The singing clockwork sounding noise. Is she a male that they accidentally sold as a female? I was under the impression that females did not sing. She beeped a lot, but was singing a ton this morning. Bevis is so cute, I love all your vids of him. I'm trying to make a cage for my new little finch since I can't buy one at this hour.

A Zebra finch😄❤
awwwww! cute!
"NO SEEBS!!!!! I WANT MUSH!!!"
So cute ❤️
Not long after the babies are able to feed by themselves, they will have to leave, the parents will most likely peck at them for them to leave. I think it's to prevent incest. So it's quite common.
"Beavis" what a precious name for a little birdy.
haha
Wtf das ist scheise
