There are no words in any language capable of fully describing just how MASSIVE this band was from the mid-late 80s. They were more popular than oxygen
@MauGino that makes sense. People at tge time blew money on other stupid things like leg warmer, padded shoulders for fashion, Jane fonda workout videos and other ridiculously stupid stuff. Bon Jovi fits perfectly into that niche.
They were so huge in the 80s. You went to concerts to actually see your favorite groups. You made sure they performed in front of you like they did in MTV. The bands were held accountable and performed. My first time seeing them, they opened for Journey. Epic!

I died inside with laughter as he asked "why would anyone sing about Squirrels?" My answer... people sing about alkinds of crazy things now days. Son is now 28 and always a good laugh.

Quick story about my experience with Bon Jovi. When they came to my town on this tour, Slippery when Wet, they had a phone interview scheduled that afternoon with the local radio station. Well, unbeknownst to me, my phone number happened to be one number off from the radio station. I'm at home, my phone rings, i answer and the voice on the line says, hey its Ritchie Sambora. I started laughing thinking one of my friends was playing a trick. He says, is this blah blah radio station? We have an interview before the show tonight. I didnt know what to say. He said hello? Hello? And i came to my senses. I told him it wasnt the radio station, and he apologized. Asked if i was coming to the show and I told him I had to work. He said maybe next time and we hung up. I've never forgotten that. I was 19 and a huge fan.
Its fun to watch. Now imagine living through this and we did not need to be at an actual concert to feel like we were at one when listening with our friends or even just rockin out alone in ones bedroom.

I will always love Jon Bon Jovi, not just because of his band and how talented he is. He is a good man that has helped so many unfortunate people. Habitat for humanity, opened up his own restaurant for the homeless and actually does the dishes in the back! He also opened up a restaurant on a college campus to help young people who can't afford to buy food while going to college. He is also a good father who talks about his kids lovingly. You can go on and on about the good this man has done. We need more people like this! Bed of Roses and Lay Your Hands On Me are also great songs.

This makes me so happy 🖤 my mom's favorite band of all time. She's actually in the music video for "In and Out of Love" from 1985. Filmed on the boardwalk of Seaside Heights NJ where we are from. I love watching anyone enjoy their music 🎶🖤
Dude, I was 16 yrs old and working my first job at a pizza shop the summer this came out...80's, great time to be a teenager. Best era in the history of music
Bon Jovi’s name is a play on Jon’s family name BonGiovi. I saw BonJovi during their New Jersey tour at Joe Louis arena in Detroit twice and their opening act was Skid Row! The first time I was in standing room only floors and the second time I was off to the left of the stage in nose bleed seats. I took my neighbour’s 12 year old son to the concert with me and we stood on a stairway landing to watch the show best place ever to watch a show. Joe Louis is gone now but will hold those memories. They filmed part of the video for Bad Medicine in Detroit and I found my neighbour and I in the video. Jon’s pants were so tight it made you wonder how he got into them, they made skinny jeans look baggy.
And that was 38 years ago. I remember that song coming out. Used to hear it in the car all the time as a teen in the late 80s cruise'n round our little town's loop. So long ago now.
I love my 80’s hair bands! I saw them in concert at Red Rock Amphitheater in Denver, CO. I drove down from the western slope of Colorado. Who remembers Head Bangers Ball!
I came at the very tail end of Gen X and rocked out to this with my dad. I remember all the older Gen Xers rocking out and I tried to fit in with them.
From their first BIG album “Slippery When Wet” I saw when they were touring this one-it was in Hershey PA ( the stadium along Hershey Park & Hershey Chocolate Factory “The sweetest place on earth”) there was a really tall tower in the middle of the field crowd & Jon flew over them on a zip line from the stage to that & did a guitar solo. It was a GREAT show!!
Man when this came out, I can tell you how many car windows were shattered in pieces because you hear the windows vibrating so hard before you ever saw the vehicle rolling Up to the light!❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂
Love For Sale is my favorite Bon Jovi Song, it's at the tale end of the New Jersey album if I remember correctly. It sounds like an after-the-show impromptu jam when everyone is a little tired and maybe had a beer to unwind. You feel like you're there and it's just the bluesy best.
Such great showmen, such talent and they were so young at the time. Jon is the same age as me and I am so glad that was the music I listened to in my 20’s. Our hair was pretty cool too!
Not only is Bon Jovi in the Hall of Fame, but Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora (guitarist) are in the Songwriters Hall of Fame! Incredible songwriters and musicians! They were a Magical Duo!! I Love Bon Jovi!!
Bon Jovi is good at pop rock. Can't deny the catchiness. A lot of people discount them for this. The fact is, they put out a lot of very listenable songs, which don't say much. If that's cool with you, it's all good. I can enjoy their music without going deeper.
Watching this video for the first time on MTV one afternoon in the daily top 20 and got hooked it was on number 6 or something like that. Next week this video reached no. 1 and then Living on a Prayer entered on no. 17 , both songs in the top 20, Livin on a prayer reached no. 1 and stayed there for 14 straight weeks and that made MTV retire the video as retiring a sports player's Number. The rest is history . I watched them live for the first time on February 17th 1990 in Guadalajara Mexico, the 232nd and final show of the Jersey Syndicate Tour.

I still have my collection of Bon Jovi i had on my wall back then!!!
Brings back memories of my 1st concert my dad took me to. My dad was just there for the ladies lol. Amazing times
Bon Jovi is good at pop rock. Can't deny the catchiness. A lot of people discount them for this. The fact is, they put out a lot of very listenable songs, which don't say much. If that's cool with you, it's all good. I can enjoy their music without going deeper.
I got to see them and Joan Jett October 27th 1983 in Evansville, Indiana was a great time in music.
With Christmas right around the corner...... we gotta get a reaction to "You're a mean one, Mr Grinch by Small Town Titans"
Bon Jovi has some of the best power ballads out there. You really should check some of those out to get the “total” Bon Jovi experience.
"Wanted Dead or Alive" is about the touring life. And it's amazing.
So many memories and feelings come with this song
