That 84 album is one of the best ever. I think there were 5 singles off it. Which is crazy for an album. But it was that good. Big songs off that one. It lifted him quick to stardom. I believe on some lists, that album was voted best of the year. I was born in 80. But I remember at 10 years old knowing Bon Jovi and listening to those songs like they were knew. Jon and Bruce are good guys, not caught up in the pitfalls of the industry but massively close to their wives and children, both incredibly committed to philanthropic work. They remain successful for decades. Jersey strong!
I too grew up listening to Jon Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen. I also grew up close to both of their neighborhoods. Being from Jersey you gotta give props to the greats from the Garden State. 😁
Jon Bon Jovi performed live for the first time since his vocal cord surgery at the MusiCares Person of the Year gala in February 2024, where he was also named Person of The Year. The band's next album, “Forever” hits stores June 7, and its first single “Legendary” is out now. He sang "Who Says You Can't Go Home", "The Promised Land", and "Legendary" with Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi, respectively.
I just saw Jon Bon Jovi on Jimmy Kimmel a couple of nights ago. He has a head full of silver gray hair. Otherwise, he looks the same. Young, hot, and talented. Great reaction. Thanks! 😊
Metallica covered Turn the Page. Gina & tommy....Living on a Prayer.🙂. Have you heard bon Jovi's first hit? Runaway? Wrote it as a teenager. Great song.
My wife and I were young and I was a young ssgt in the Air Force deploying listening to this. Our music from 80s and 90s was inspirational not degrading. She believed in me as a airman basic with our one child. Now we we watch our grandkids as they grow up from taking risk and believing in doing it right with hardworking and faith.
Jon and Ruchie Sambora, the guitarist, argued over the line " Like Frankie said I did it my way" . Richie said these kids will never understand or know the Frankie reference, but Jon said it's staying in!"
If you don't know about Tommy and Gina, you're not a fan... Tommy used to work on the docks...Gina works at diner all day, she cries in the night, Tommy whispers it's ok.
Jon Bongiovi is One of the preeminent lyricists from my generation. I see that several people already commented on it, but Tommy and Gina are from living on a prayer, the song you mentioned at the beginning. He actually sang to my ex-wife at a concert I went to in Pullman Washington, on the New Jersey tour. Which was the loudest roar I've ever heard. When they came out onto the stage to lay your hands on me and he fired out from underneath the stage through the fog that crowd was easily 125 decibels.
I graduated in 1980. I watched this on MTV when I was working. I'm a nurse, so I would watch MTV in their rooms. They learned to love 70's and 80's music with me. 😂✌🏻

Fantastic reaction as usual. Frank Sinatra was Jon Bon Jovi's great uncle which made this all the more special. Please react to the video of livin on a prayer. You'll find out who Tommy and Gina are. The song is fun and the band really has a good time performing it! Lots of energy.

The talk box was pretty much dead and forgotten by the time Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora dragged one out in 1986 for the band's eternal No. 1 hit "Livin' on a Prayer." He doesn't waste any time putting it to use either, working it hard on the song's intro and carrying it through to the verses.
My favorite song by Bon Jovi is Bed of Roses. A lot of people don't care for it that much because it's different from his other stuff. But you also can't go wrong with Wanted Dead or Alive or Living on a Prayer. Those are some of his most popular ones. Then there is Blaze of Glory or Runaway that's just a bop
Bon Jovi is fantastic with so many powerful hits. "Thank You For Loving Me" - when all is said and done, this is the message of love and gratitude that really matters most.
Tommy used to work on the docks, union's been on strike and he's down on his luck. It's tough. Gina works the diner all day. Working for her man, she brings home her pay for love. That's who they are. lol
Tommy and Gina are from living on a prayer, they are a fictional couple of the working class families in new jersey where he grew up. They have such amazing and uplifting songs. Id love if you reacted to more, especially their newer stuff that's about real social issues.
Bon Jovi is a king/god to many people in New Jersey. Most weddings you go to in Jersey will feature this song. Everyone knows this song and everyone loses their voice going all out to it. Typically a highlight of the night. Not a true Jersey wedding if this song is not a part of it.
Forever one of my favorite artists. Saw bon Jovi in concert when I was 6 years old , It was my first ever concert. I'm now 29 and still listen to him daily!!!
So Sinatra was born in Hoboken, NJ and Jon Bon Jovi is from Perth Amboy, NJ. JBJ has been quoted as saying how much he admired FS but never met him. When he first started there was a rumor that FS was JBJ's Great Uncle - not true. However, the line is a nod to FS. His birth name is John Bongiovi. He switched it to Bon Jovi. I always thought that was funny.
LOL I love you, man. But I cracked up at "Who's Tommy and Gina?" Only because you said how much you love "Living on a Prayer." Tommy and Gina are the couple in that song. 🙂
Released in 2000, if we only knew then how good it was at that time, right then. The peak of CD sales, the Internet was just getting big, and 9/11 hadn’t happened yet. 2000/2001 was the last good peak. We had others before that, but since, it’s all been downhill.
It's my life came out in 2000. Tommy and Gina were from Bon Jovi's 1986 hit "Livin' on a prayer" . To answer your question yes that is a talk box at the beginning of the video where they say woah woah. And of course "Like Frankie said I did it my way" is talking about Frank Sinatra. Bon Jovi said Sinatra was his role model.
The "good programming" of the message in this song. Is exactly why I watched this as soon as possible rather than waiting until tonight. I've been needing messages like this. I just recently found my way back to myself and God after many years. I'm still just trying to pull myself up from the darkness strongly. So, I'm working on creating new, healthier, daily routines. I really enjoy watching you experience some of my favorite classics from back in the day. The nostalgia is real. Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. Much love and blessings to you and your family. Looking forward to seeing your new little one soon. ❤❤🙏🙏😇🥰
I loved loved Bon Jovi from high school. I wasn't allowed to go to rock concerts in high school....graduated in 1991. Finally got to see them 2 years ago. I was so disappointed they literally only played maybe 6 songs of their most popular songs. Played all mainly new stuff I had not heard yet.....not what I went for...still love them just not what I paid to experience....
This song was the "the eye of the tiger" of the early 2000's... It's one of those song that came and blew up at just the right time and literally saved lives.. Elder millennials and younger Gen X peeps, may remember just how daunting those years were with collage being pushed and hyper inflated at the same time... Many many people felt their life was hopeless for a time and this song actually help reinspire countless people to push on..
Not to mention a whole group of younger Gen X coming out of collage with fresh degrees and no job to be had because so many wouldn't hire without work experience.. Ity was a pretty messed up few years we all just swept under the rug saying "OK, moving on"
I remember crying when Bon Jovi and Bob Seger cut their hair! lol I have a VHS tape of Bon Jovi music videos and still watch it! Great reaction as always! 🤠
Love me sum Jon Bon Jovi!!! Wanted, is one of his huge hits!! Him & his wife run 2 restaurants in New Jersey that you can eat if you have no money, but you have to wash a couple of dishes or something!! I can't remember of the top of my head how long they been Married, but it's crazy!! Especially through that type of lifestyle!! 🙏🏼❤💯
Peter Frampton also used a special talk box. Bon Jovi busted their as&a when they started touring in the beginning, you should check out VH1's Behind the Music, they did a tight bio on their beginning. 👍❤️
Jon Bon Jovi grew up as a New Jersey musician following around Bruce Springsteen and Southside Johnny -- all 3 put Jersey on the map!!! The best times of my life have been at a Bruce, Southside and Bon Jovi shows....and each show was at least 2 1/2 to 3 hours!!!!
Even though I know they are saying Bad Medicine in my head it sounds like Ted Danson 😂 So it’s down my list of favorite Bon Jovi songs because of it Hopefully you won’t start hearing it too 😂
It's my life is 24 years old released in 2000...Bon Jovi is 62 now. He just did an awesome documentary about his career and his life. Recently had vocal cord surgery and on the mend to hopefully sing out another album❤

Bon Jovi is a king/god to many people in New Jersey. Most weddings you go to in Jersey will feature this song. Everyone knows this song and everyone loses their voice going all out to it. Typically a highlight of the night. Not a true Jersey wedding if this song is not a part of it.
I’m a huge fan of Bon Jovi, and I’ve seen them in concert on February 14, 2001. Then 9-11 happened, and the entire world changed in an instant.
Forever one of my favorite artists. Saw bon Jovi in concert when I was 6 years old , It was my first ever concert. I'm now 29 and still listen to him daily!!!
Stadium song if I ever heard one I love the voice box on the guitar and Bon Jovi just rocks
I Rember the Rumors flowing both Directions..... But never went down rabbit-Hole to the Truth......
💖💖💖💖💖 This song was released in 2000. Tommy and Gina are the couple from their song "Living On A Prayer" released in 1986.
Tony and Gina are a reference of the song Living on a prayer. Their own song.
We love bonjovi and yes they are still popin journey and Bon Jovi are out favorite bands 💯👍
I grew up listening to bon jovi (two older sisters), but "it's my life" and "have a nice day" are my favorites
Lol- you literally mentioned Living on a Prayer which references Tommy and Gina- he uses them often in songs
Chills every time. What a fucking song
BonJovi had a song wanted dead or alive that is on the same track as Bib Seagar's turn the page. It's amazing. You should check it out.
Ity was a pretty messed up few years we all just swept under the rug saying "OK, moving on"
I love this video. I grew up in the best era
I remember crying when Bon Jovi and Bob Seger cut their hair! lol I have a VHS tape of Bon Jovi music videos and still watch it! Great reaction as always! 🤠
Congrats on the baby girl!! Your life will never be the same, in the best possible way!! ❤❤
love it
Love me sum Jon Bon Jovi!!!
👍❤️
As said elsewhere, Tommy & Gina were mentioned in Livin' On A Prayer.
Bad medicine " is my favorite and " You give love a bad name " and Livin on a prayer 🙏 Bon Jovi is Sooooo cute ❤❤❤❤
Even though I know they are saying Bad Medicine in my head it sounds like Ted Danson 😂
So it’s down my list of favorite Bon Jovi songs because of it
Hopefully you won’t start hearing it too 😂
It's my life is 24 years old released in 2000...Bon Jovi is 62 now. He just did an awesome documentary about his career and his life. Recently had vocal cord surgery and on the mend to hopefully sing out another album❤
Classic Bon Jovi!!! He had so many hits. You are really grooving in the 80's music. Fun to hear you talk about these "oldies" and discover how good these artists truly were. Thank you. ☺🤘💙
Joe Walsh is the best on voice box on 'Rocky Mountain Way"!!! Awesome!!!
Joe Walsh "Turn to Stone", from the "So What" album is not bad either. Whole album good.
Awesome song!!❤
Bon Jovi's songs are very inspiring. For example, I always listen to "Have a Nice Day" when I want to cheer yourself up.
