my grandparents are both 96 years old, they both have moderate-to-high "Total" cholesterol for decades and never had a heart attack or any heart related problems. They live in a Mediterranean country, so they are on a Mediterranean diet since birth. These "aged" people don't know any of these "scientific" facts we now know because of the internet, they do not know what HDL and LDL are, and don't know what Oxidized LDL is. When I saw their lipid profile results I was surprised and I had to ask them "how the hell they are so healthy".. The answers were simple:
    - "We don't understand cholesterol. But we understand eating "moderate." Eat whatever you like but never overdo it"
    - "After a fatty meal day we eat "legumes" such as lentils, beans, and peas for 2-3 days straight. This way we keep what we eat moderate and in balance."
For more detail, as I understand, their weekly meal program is at follows:
    Monday: Legumes
Tuesday: Lots of fish (because the fish market is open during this day)
    Wedneday: Legumes
    Thursday: Legumes
Friday: usually some healthy "oven" food.. or sometimes they can eat their "pasta" this day.
    Saturday: Legumes
    Sunday: Meat based food..
    -Salad with every meal
-Olive oil always on all meals even in cooking
-They don't eat fried food, if they do it will be fried vegetables on a Friday or Sunday with meat.
    -They don't smoke.
-of course they don't eat Fast Food. probably once every 2-3 months just for the taste.
-AND THEY DONT KNOW OF ANY 5-6 meal plan!!!! They eat simple breakfast such as boiled eggs or butter on a loaf of bread - nothing fried.. Their dinner... and probably a yogurt before bed - and their weight is in check!!!

Good for your grandparents! By the way, “good and bad cholesterol “ are misleading terms (my opinion). Eating correctly and exercising accordingly takes care of 95 % of all maladies. We live in world with too many experts of the obvious who are good on labeling all kind of diseases created because of our bad food habits.

@@AndyBandi2000 Great for your Grandparents, it seems like they are leading a healthy lifestyle. I just wanted to point out that the only way to get cholesterol (other than which your body creates) is through animal products. Looking at their diet, they eat lower animal products than the average western diet and appear to eat a lot of vegetables which really pushes the cholesterol away. I am sure their exercising etc helps a tone, but the main point to highlight here is the lower ingestion of Animal products. People eat wayyyy to much nowdays which is the main driver of all of modern western disease (high blood preasure, high cholesterol, diabetes, etc... Leading to strokes and coronary heart diseases).
So to be healthy, eat less dead bodies and more fruits, legumes, vegetables, seeds and grains !!

HDL and LDL are not types of cholesterol! They are merely vessels to carry cholesterol FROM (body to liver aka HDL) or TO (body from liver aka LDL) the peripheral tissues. Inside your arteries, damage to your endothelial cells often occur. This is when LDL can slip in there (which isn't supposed to happen, mind you). This LDL is therefore foreign. Macrophages (body's defense system) tries to engulf it and oxidizes these LDL molecules. As consumption occurs, macrophages become useless, and sponge cell formation occurs. THIS BUILD UP OF SPONGE CELLS is what the video was talking about. Once it's built up underneath the endothelial cells of your arteries, HDL CANNOT pick it up. It's stuck there, FOREVER! In fact, it's likely that build up will occur even more. However, increased HDL does help your body prevent this build up of sponge cells from occurring in the first place... just thought I would clear some of the video's misinformation...

To be honest, no one knows their own mortality until somethings happens to change that ignorance you have. I am such that type. !2 yrs, of driving a truck around America and Canada, with a poor diet and exercise routine. I was totally ignorant. My physicals all came out in a passing grade and my blood pressure was normal. One weekend when I was home mowing my yard it hit. Sudden cold sweats, my heart beating like a car with a spark plug out, severe weakness in my legs, and the urge to just lay on the ground and sleep. Well, on a Tuesday i found out that I had seven blockages, Thursday morning I had 3 of the 7 blockages opened with stents. It is difficult to change a lifestyle, to trying walk a distance and you have no stamina or your breathing sound like a Harley sitting as a stop light. I now have a HDL of 24 and it has taken 2 yrs, but it is rising, I am able to walk 2 miles twice a day; and i am increasing my pace. I am on Zocor , praying it works. I stopped driving a truck and I am in a University for a degree in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences. I had no choice but to retrain for another skill. They just do not put tread mills in 18 wheeler and the job require that on many days you spend 10-11 hours of driving without a break. No thanks, I still have dreams and aspirations. Life is good. The only hard part i have is to stop smoking completely. I got my self down from 2-3 paks to about 1/2 of a pak. The diet and exercise was a bit easier, still finding and changing stuff daily to fit what I like to eat and what is healthier to eat.

This is for one month only after which, I need to take another blood test to see if it lower my bad cholesterol... Let's take care of our heart ♥️... Our health as a general concerns. 👍

There is no such thing as bad cholesterol. Sugar is the issue. Cholesterol is only a little part of the plaque and the body only needs to make these to heal wounds on artery walls which are caused by bad habits like alcohol, drugs or sugar. Blaming cholesterol for heart attacks is like blaming the firemen in case of fire.

    • @Jm..28.198

@@jinougawithchocolate9329 🤔😏. There is! There are two kinds of cholesterol in our body which is integrated in our blood. These are LDL aka bad cholesterol; physicians called it a literal "bad" because it blocks our blood through our veins, pumping by our heart, frequently called it "plaque" and it builds up in our veins. While HDL aka good cholesterol, it helps to elemenate toxic/LDL from our veins. Heart specialist specifically cardiologist says, that one of the factors why angina pectoris occurred is due to high LDL... One thing is certain for discrepenacy of our statement is that we graduated from different medical school. 😂 In addition, you mentioned, alcohol, drugs and sugar?! If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with high cholesterol, it's important to understand what cholesterol is and why it is important to keep it in the control. Cholesterol is a fat substance made by your liver and also comes from foods you intake that it is then packaged in a particle called lipoprotein. your body needs cholesterol to make hormones, vitamin D and a substance that helps you digest foods called bile. This video discusses 2 types of lipoprotein that carry cholesterol: low density lipoprotein or LDL cholesterol also known as bad cholesterol and high density lipoprotein or HDL cholesterol also known as good cholesterol. LDL travels through your blood stream delivering cholesterol to the cells that need it. If your body has too much LDL it can build up in the walls of your arteries. LDL and other substances in your artery walls form a fatty deposit called plaque. Overtime plaque can narrow the artery and reduce blood flow. LDL carries cholesterol into the plaque. This is why LDL is called the bad cholesterol. A common place this plaque can build up is in your coronary arteries which are the blood vessels that feed your heart. This plaque build up causes a coronary artery disease and increases your risk of a heart attack. Plaque build up in other arteries such as the carotid artery in your neck can reduces blood flows your brain and increase the risk of a stroke. your liver also makes high density lipoprotein or HDL also known as the good cholesterol. HDL helps remove excess cholesterol from yourself's tissues and from plaque in your blood vessels. This is why HLD is called the good cholesterol. HDL returns the excess cholesterol to your liver which removes it from your body.

I wonder why no one talks about why it chokes the artery?
If Everyone Knew the Truth, no one would take statins.
But everyone just carries on listening to the doctors because they know best... When will we wake up

Cholesterol are the fatty substances present in the body. Cholesterol usually occurs at any age due to the imbalance of food. Mostly fatty liver has the cholesterol effects. Even when cholesterol blocks the arteries can cause heart attack.

Another amazing piece of this puzzle is that there are two type of LDL cholesterol one is the small dense LDLand another is the large boyant LDL
In most cases the small boyant and LDL is responsible for plaque build up in the arteries. So it's always recommended to do an advanced lipid profile test to figure out what is causing the problems. The most critical marker to look out for is whether small dense LDL is in check
