*_[Mischa & Noel]_* - Blasting in my ears!
*_[Constance & Ocean]_* - Guns and Roses, Chuck D., The Beatles on calliope
*_[M & N]_* - It smells like
*_[C/O/M/N]_* - Cotton candy
*_[M & N]_* - Corn dogs and rancid beers
*_[C & O]_* - Colored lights and people screaming, what is real, 'n what is dreaming?
*_[C/O/M/N]_* - Take me higher! No! No!
*_[M & N]_* - I never want to stop!
*_[C & O]_* - Stomach churning, falling money, kinda freaky, kinda funny,
*_[C/O/M/N]_* - Tick-a, tick-a, tick-a, tick-a, tick-a, tick-a, tick-a, tick-a,
Woah! Just awaiting for the drop
*[LARGE CUT IN VIDEO]*
*_[All]_* - You don't know up from down
And you feel a little strange. From all that's spinning 'round
And everything you loved
And everything you dreamed
And everything you feared
And everything that seemed so oh, so terrifying
Is far behind on the ground
Like our far from the city, little, itty-bitty, pretty, home town
Just a teeny, tiny dot on a wee blue ball
And we've all been spinning
*_[Boys]_* - All been spinning
*_[All]_* - 'Round and 'round and 'round, and 'round and 'round. 'Round and 'round, and 'round and 'round and 'round.
And 'round and 'round, 'round and 'round.
*_[Boys]_* - And ev'ry kind of music! Blasting in my ears
*_[C & O]_* - All those colored lights! Uh-oh
*_[Boys]_* - Cotton candy and rancid beers
*_[C & O]_* - I gotta wear shades 'cause the future's so bright
*_[Boys]_* - Take me higher! No! No! I never want to stop!
*_[C & O]_* - Gravity's keeping me down (down)
*_[Boys]_* - Take me up, right up to the top
*_[C & O]_* - I'll never put my feet on the ground
*_[Boys]_* - And ev'ry kind of music! Blasting in my ears
*_[C & O]_* - Life was about to start
*_[Boys]_* - Cotton candy and rancid beers
*_[C & O]_* - We never should have got into the rickey cart! Oh-no
*_[Boys]_* - Take me higher
*_[All]_* - Wait! Are we still on the track! Uh-oh!
Felt the drop. Now I know.
Woah! Oh, we're never going back!
Are we ever, ever going back?!
Damn, I remember listening to this before I found out RTC existed, love this opening number lmao :D
One of the best musicals I've seen. Unbelievably great acting and singing!
I'm still crying please bring them back. :"(
I LOVE RICKYS SILLY LIL DANCE
Is nobody going to point out how great Noel's nails look? Like christ they look so nice! (Given he was a nail chewer in the show from what I remember, even if it was fake chewing.)
This song has the best round and round and round and round imo. originally i didn't really like this adaptation but it has grown on me, it's good.
Bro ricky is just SLAYING those moves like geez dude is vibin
Waiting For The Drop my beloved
i wish this was on the album so bad
I wish the part where Jane doe sings in the middle of this wasn't cut because imo its the best part 😞
Yes!!! Finally UA-cam's faulty Kid Content censor got its grubby hands off of this video.
It's a shame I wish this was included in some of the bonus tracks- it was the first song I discovered from Ride the Cyclone and had this wonderful otherworldly feel to it.
They should have put the rest of the openings as bonus tracks
We're so excited to continue 'the ride' here at the Alliance Theatre next month!
Fantastic! Break a leg!
ricky at the start looks just so gone lmao
I WANT THEM TO COME BACK TO NYC UGH
STILL WAITING LIKE SRSLY SUCH A GOOD SHOW
God I love this musical. Saw it last year and really wish more people knew about it.
so I’m a Gus Halper fan through and through but OMG THIS MISCHA ATE AND LEFT NO CRUMBS
seeing ricky dancing absolutely sent me. i've never seen ricky dance that early in the show
Ricky one moment:🧍♂️ Ricky the next:🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺
First y'all put on the Casper musical, then this? And they both are huge bangers?? Is there any show you can't do
2:53 can we just appreciate lilian's vocals here
This is so beautiful it makes me want to cry
I like this but I think the version we see in the more recent video, as well as Uranium Suite, both are from a show with a much more developed identity.
Singing this while I was on a rollercoaster (not the cyclone bc NEVER doing that again) was probably a death wish, but here I am
noel and mischa dancing together 🥰
they do in fall fair suite too, i wonder what the significance is
oh. ricky dancing is a little disturbing…is that how he moved when they crashed?
I've seen people say it might just be him realizing he's able to move freely! Since during his whole life his movement was limited
people have said this opening isn’t as good as fall fair/uranium suite but bro this is so catchy like???
EVERY KIND OF MUSIC ❗️BLASTING THROUGH MY EARS 💥💥
@@justasmltwngir1732ALL THOSE COLOURED LIGHTS‼️‼️ 🚥
@@justasmltwngir1732ALL THOSE COLORED LIGHTS ‼️ OH OH OHHH 💥 💥
02:09 I love this part-time like I haven't watched this version but I love this part
I love how they ultimately decided to keep the part at 1:13 in fall fair suite
It's in every song except tragic fact
I can't believe there's 6 (that we know of) versions of the opening
Maybe there's more than 2 versions of the musical that we don't know exist
Six?? I know only fall fair suite, Uranium suite, waiting for the drop and tragic fact. What are the other two?
@@ОляКислюк Tiffany has talked about a few that stayed in workshops, including one about the stages of grief, it’s possible that’s what they meant
2:08 HIT IT RICKY
In my opinion it's:
tragic fact
FR. Honestly the only part i liked abt this song is the "round and round and round" part. everything else is... just okay.
The way the moment Ricky moves it means that the kids have died
While this intro feels like it fits into Ride the Cyclone the least. It such an amazing song. Been humming it to myself for literally months
I'm curious, how come you think it fits the least? :0
They should just release a pro shot now
It's on Canadian Netflix, however someone posted it to UA-cam about a month ago
How many versions of this number even are there
I believe 4, there’s waiting for the drop, fall fair suite, uranium suite, and tragic fact/uranium suite
6 that we know of
@sydneycampbell706010 but there's two versions of Fall Fair Suite and a version of Uranium Suite without Tragic Fact. So we've heard 6 opening songs all together!
I love them sm
I do tend to enjoy fall fair suite the most but I love the others so much too
Please post more songs from this show! :-)
I need to see up production with the new and cut songs
So sad that this was touring at my theatre but i just discovered it
WHAT IS RICKY DOING OMG I LOVE HIM
Please please please post more of the songs
Another one is dropping on Friday and we bet you'll think it's AWESOME. ;-)
yooooooo that's amazing
you know I want more though

Okay this is my opinion so don't come at me but I would like to hear if you agree or disagree with me lol.
-Best song to listen to album wise: uranium suit.
-best song on stage: Waiting for the drop (I especially like the little detail where Ricky starts to sing and dance together with them)
-best song both on stage and to listen to: "fall fair suit"
Watching Ocean's actress throwing herself around like that is actually so upsetting
Why?
@@dihte1628 Because that part in the song is representing the choir falling through the air to their death and to them they’re high off the adrenaline which is why it’s such a fun part of the song but the way Ocean’s actress specifically throws herself around like that really reminds you that your watching these children dying :(
@@kingworm9429 true. It looks so goddamn silly, but the symbolism is there. Noel & Mischa holding eachother, Ricky's crutches disappearing & him dancing all silly, etc
makes me so mad that they cut out over a minute of this song in this video 😭 but if anyone wants the full audio look for "waiting for the drop but it's badly edited together"!
honestly my favorite version
Ricky hating his life being dragged onto the ride
Did anyone not see the part where Ricky just went so goofy
This version is so different from all the others!
Yep! 2018 Seattle as a whole was pretty different compared to 2015 Chicago, 2016 Off Broadway, and 2019 Atlanta! There was some new material, Be Safe Be Good was added, and probably most infamously, SABAM was completely rewritten.
Idk what it is but I don’t like how ricky starts singing mid song I think that when he has his line when Constance asks where they are it makes more sense rather than singing mid song
I WANT TO SEE A FULL PRODUCTION OF THIS
San Diego, July 21-Aug 13, 2023
They need to record the songs and post them!!!!!!
Bro just stood there like🧍♂️
personally, i think that this opening kind of seems more realistic w/ the are we ever going back then a cut off.
Ahhh saw this last night. It was SO good.
Does anyone know why there’s such a big cut in this recording? I’m curious
Im not sure, maybe copyright issues? But im not 100% sure sorry
my guess would be it’s where karnak says his piece? since it’s not actually a sung part they might’ve cut it out :)
@@kodiesage Yeah, in most intro songs Karnak has dialogue apologising that this is an eulogy dedicated to those kids that rode the cyclone and died. In other versions, he admits not only could he not tell the kids that they were going to die, but he suggested that they Ride the Cyclone.
