Lyrics: CHOIR] Secure all your items, strap in and hold on for the ride And keep your hands inside Oh, it's about to begin I'm bursting within Climbing, rising higher Feel my face against the wind Looking down at it all At the ants caught in their everyday strife [NOEL] My God, this ride is like my life Take me up and away Above this small town cliché [CHOIR] To leave this place behind Oh, I'm just waiting for the day But at the top of the peak There's a moment where you're king of the world! And suddenly you're hurled over Up and then down Towards the carnival ground Scrеaming, join the crazy twisted symphony of sound! Oh, how I love to hеar every kind of music [MISCHA & NOEL] Blasting in my ears [CONSTANCE & OCEAN] Guns 'n' Roses Chopped Diva Beatles Oh, how lovely It smells like cotton candy [NOEL & MISCHA] Corn dogs and rancid beers [CONSTANCE & OCEAN] Colored lights and people screaming Light as reeling Light as dreaming [CHOIR] Take me higher, no, no [NOEL & MISCHA] I never want to stop [CONSTANCE & OCEAN] Stomach churning Falling money Kind of freaky Kind of funny [CHOIR] Tick-a, tick-a, tick-a, tick-a Tick-a, tick-a, tick-a, tick-a Whooooooaaaaa Just waiting for the drop Ooh... Ooh... Aah!!! [JANE] Aaaaaaaaaah!!! [OCEAN] Oh, into the spin And then, something doesn't feel quite right! [NOEL] A blur of colored light! [OCEAN & CONSTANCE] Dizzy whirling around Oh, where is the ground? [NOEL] My heart is in my throat I feel my chest begin to pound! [CHOIR] Oh, bright lights ahead And we're spinning and it's suddenly flat! [CONSTANCE] What happened to this track!? [NOEL] Did they set it up right? [MISCHA] That's why my knuckles are white! [CHOIR] We're flying, floating forward That's a blinding yellow light! (Underneath next line) Ooh... Ooh... Aaah! [KARNAK] At 6:19, this same rollercoaster's front axel would break, causing it to derail at the apex of the loop-de-loop, hurtling the children to their deaths! Tonight, I wish to give them the chance to express not who they were perceived to be, but who they dreamt they were [CHOIR] And then you're sailing through space You don't know up from down And you feel a little strange From all that spinning 'round And everything you loved And everything you dreamed And everything you feared And everything that seems so, oh so terrifying Is far behind on the ground Like our far from the city, little itty bitty pretty hometown Just a teeny tiny dot on a wee blue ball And we've all been spinning [MISCHA & NOEL] All been spinning [CHOIR] Round and round and round And round and round Round and round And round and round and round And round and round Round and round and- [MISCHA & NOEL] Every kind of music Blast in my ears [CONSTANCE & OCEAN] All those colored lights Oh oh oh... [MISCHA & NOEL] Cotton candy and rancid beers [CONSTANCE & OCEAN] I gotta wear shades 'cause the future's so bright! [MISCHA & NOEL] Take me higher, no, no I never want to stop [OCEAN & CONSTANCE] Never gonna bring me down, down... [MISCHA & NOEL] Take me up, right up to the top [CONSTANCE & OCEAN] I'll never put my feet on the ground [MISCHA & NOEL] Every kind of music, blastin' in my ears [CONSTANCE & OCEAN] My life was about to start [MISCHA & NOEL] Cotton candy and rancid beers [CONSTANCE & OCEAN] We never should have got into that rickety cart [CHOIR] Take me higher... Wait! Are we still on the track? Uh-oh! Down to the drop, now I know Whoooooooaaaaaaa!! Oh, we're never going back! Are we ever, ever going back?
And for Ocean and Constance it's: "Guns n Roses Chuck D The Beatles On calliope!" "Colored lights And people screaming What is real And what is dreaming?" And I think for all/choir it's "Oh, bright lights ahead And we're spinning And it's suddenly black!" O+C (Again): "Gravity's bringing me down! Down!" Choir (again): "Felt that drop! Now I know!"
I find it interesting how all of these opening songs have completely different meanings from each other! Most they have in common is that they’re the introductions to the cast and the depictions of the deaths of the main characters. All these are my interpretations!! I’d love to hear what others think! Fall Fair Suite is about their feelings of death itself, their anger and shock. The transition from their everyday lives into suddenly not having one is great. From harmony, into bickering, back into harmony. Ocean is great in this one and wanting to sue beyond the grave is very in character. This is the most popular one because it’s in the most known bootleg recording of it (2016). The uranium suite is, you guessed it, about their hometown Uranium. Written by Father Louis P. Marcus! It’s my least favorite version out of the three, so I haven’t really read into the lyrics like I have with the other two, but it’s worth to mention that this is the current song being used for all iterations for RTC. Also it’s the one on the 2021 studio recording. If there’s one thing I have to praise it for, it’s specifically the delivery of "Did we finally leave this town?". And last but definitely not least, Waiting for the drop. A song about their excitement and reactions on the Cyclone itself, as well as their secret resentment of their quiet little home town where everyone knew everyone, the excitement of knowing they’re gonna leave one day. The small details of Ocean realizing something was amiss, the whole ending part after 'round and 'round… It’s been stuck in my head for weeks. If there only was a HQ recording of this song. We can only hope. What all these three iterations also share is the scream, the one believed to be the victims screams before impact. Jane's scream dragging out as she was thrown off the coaster. It’s straight up bonechilling in Fall Fair Suite, and at its weakest in Uranium Suite. Not to say any of them are bad! It’s all up to preference really.
While the rising scale is included in Uranium Suite, Jane's scream isn't even included in Uranium Suite, which sucks because it's really cool and was included in all the other openings.
I feel like the three iterations represent the three stages of their death: Uranium suite, which mainly focuses on Karnaks recollection of the events, and showing their feelings about the town and their current life before the inevitable drop; Waiting for the drop, where it shows their emotions during the ride, the pride before the fall if you will; and finally Fall fair suite, that mainly focuses on the characters feelings towards their death and the feeling of the void around them.
oh yeah a HQ version of all of them exists (not including the filmed ones i actually mean professionaly recorded). Its just sad that they arent available to the public because it would be great to be able to hear them. IIRC the other 2 openings other than Uranium Suite were meant to be apart of a bonus track to the Soundtrack but thats only from what i remember from memory so dont quote me on it.
My theater is doing ride the cyclone and I play Karnak. Since we are doing the Broadway Licensing version, we have uranium suite as our opening number.
Mixed feelings about this one. I do love how it shows how exciting the ride was before they fell, and the realization over the span of a few seconds that something had gone wrong. I wish after that, the kids stopped singing about the fair and such and more about their fear. I think all of the openings have their pros and cons. This one isn't my favorite, but it is honestly a complete bop.
Dude, thank you so much for this. I thought this was doomed to be a lost song forever. I hope someday we get a hq full version, but until then, this is more than I ever expected to get to hear.

From all that spinning 'round
And everything you loved
And everything you dreamed

Is far behind on the ground
Like our far from the city, little itty bitty pretty hometown
Just a teeny tiny dot on a wee blue ball
And we've all been spinning
[MISCHA & NOEL]
All been spinning
[CHOIR]
Round and round and round

[MISCHA & NOEL]

[CONSTANCE & OCEAN]
I'll never put my feet on the ground
[MISCHA & NOEL]
Every kind of music, blastin' in my ears
[CONSTANCE & OCEAN]

[MISCHA & NOEL]
Cotton candy and rancid beers

Whoooooooaaaaaaa!!
Oh, we're never going back!

Oh at the lyric of a blur of colored light it's actually mischa not noel :)

I love how every one of them has that one melancholic part in them that remains exactly the same throughout

My question is, what's your analysis on the fourth one, Tragic Fact?

Good luck!! I hope you have fun doing it. I would love to be apart of a production of rtc :D

Does anyone else get chills from the ‘round and round’ part in this one? The way it just begins screaming and shouting out so loud is amazing.

Waiting for the Drop is super catchy but my personal favorite is a toss up between Uranium suite and Fall Fair.
It's not better than Fall Fair Suite, but it's great!
FFS is leagues above US and WftD, but they all deserve official recordings
@@HeliosATGC All of the RTC openings are good! The 2015 Fall Fair Suite is also one I love!
fall fair suite is the best 💪🏻💪🏻
