Awesome to see how the Supra turned out!! Slightly bittersweet as its the end of the content on it and I've highly enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next project.
Looking at ideas to do mine, but this right here would make sense as I don't know why he didn't clear coat the sticker. It will end up peeling and fading just from experience i had done yrs back but never thought of using 2k clear or mixing/using clear coats like he did
I agree 100% that’s easier and the way I’m going to but you risk getting air in the brakes and 75% of people wouldn’t know how to bleed brakes correctly. This is a much safer solution to show in a video.
@@scottjohnson9619 literally came here to say in the time it takes to mask the whole car just take the calipers off lmaoooo and maeks it easier to prep, mask, not miss any spots, basically makes everything easier. Bleeding brakes takes like 10 minutes and theres ways to do it by yourself too so literally no excuse not to. Still sick looking either way but im painting my lexus calipers next weekend off the car lol
Right ? Would've been easier and cheaper to just remove the calipers. Removing the need to purchase masking tape for the wells, plastic wrap for the entire car and eliminating the risk of overspray all together. With removing, one can just sit comfortably and prep/paint the calipers in their entirety without being crouched down at wheel level cramping your back, knees with unevenly distributed weight on your feet against the pavement. The worst that could happen is you'd have to bleed the brakes which takes less time to do than masking off the entire car. The end product looks fantastic but it didn't need to be that hard.
@@davidcallow4905if someone doesn't know how to bleed their brakes, they have no business painting their calipers. It really isn't that hard to bleed brakes.
I always thought the sticker goes on after the first layer of pain(color you want the letters to be), a 2nd layer of paint goes over the sticker (color of the calipers) and then the sticker is peeled, clear coat is applied. how does the sticker hold up with rough usage?
Hello dude ! Do you know if it's possible to do coats with two different paints ? Looking to get a result between copper and gold from VHT, so looking to mix them (1 after 1), don't know if this works
Does this paint last longer than a heat cycle. I drive my car hard the calipers definitely see over 500degrees. I’d hate to do something like this and actually drive the car and have the calipers look hideous
Honestly I wouldn't have even used the stickers atop or under a clear coat. Since I don't trust decals against brake dust, dirt, pressure washing, and extreme heat I would've used them like a stencil/masking tape. 1. Paint a black base coat on the area where the decal lettering will be placed 2. Apply the Decal over the dry black base. 3. Paint over them and the entire caliper with a yellow base coat 4. Remove the decal once the yellow dries. Exposing the black base coat underneath in the shape of the decal letters. 5. Apply the clear coat over it all. Despite being advertised as heat resistant. decals are still thin vinyl and prone to peeling, bubbling, and discoloration. Which is even worse if under a clear coat. Paint doesn't grip to vinyl the way it does to primer. Should the vinyl peel or bubble up underneath, you're going to see the clear coat prematurely chipping. From there you wont be able to simply peel the rest off. You'd have to sand them off and repaint the whole caliper. Another way to look at it is If you took a vinyl wrapped car to be painted, The first thing they will do is remove that wrap then prep and primer it for paint.
Hey Cameron! Just curious here, but why wasn’t the decal put on before clear coating? Also, is it a plastic or vinyl decal? I’m planning on painting my calipers soon but still torn between VHT high temp caliper paint and clear or going the G2 route. Being that I’d like to put a Brembo decal on mine, I’ve heard mixed opinions on whether or not to spray clear over G2, which makes me want to lean towards going the rattle can route. What are your thoughts? Thanks! 🍻
Because he doesnt know what hes doing. Could have just used 2k clear and been done with it. I think he was thinking he needed a "high temp" layer under the 2k for some reason which is just stupid, 2k has no issues with heat and creates a very durable/hard finish.
Don’t use the Cerakote ceramic paint coating, it’s defective and being reformulated. There’s quite a controversy on this product if you search, but basically it doesn’t cure right.
WOW...... The mentality of applying High Temp Paint and then YOU can put a PLASTIC STICKER on without a problem ( YOU know a sticker that melts with a ciggy lighter...lmfao ).... Just give that a thought for a minute..... The best kept secret in the world is what temps can standard Enamel Paint actually take?? ( High Temp / Caliper Paint manufacturers don't what that coming out, DO THEY ? ) -- This comment does not relate to Track Cars...
Wrapping your car in plastic, sitting on your butt, taking some bolts in and out, patiently sanding with your hands, cleaning and spraying paint from aerosol cans.. anybody can do it
Why would you spend so much time trying to get a super shine on the calipers when the color of the car is hideous? Matte on a car is just stupid. It looks like primer.

Absolutely love how clean this build is, looks simple but look closer and you see how much effort has gone into it. Beautifully done.
So much effort he almost took off the calipers XD
most underrated youtuber 100%

I personally love it, don’t need to see or talk to anybody and just work on my car making look cool or do cool things!!
Looks fantastic, but wouldn’t it better if you were putting that brembo logo under the clear coat? Much more resistant to pressure wash

Great job on the presentation, Cam! I value how you've made it easy to understand and implement.
thanks man i been working on a charger and finally all i need to do is paint the wheels and calipers and this helped a lot 👍
That Yellow looks nice on the supra. good job 👍
Just remove the calipers, block off the lines, and paint them on a bench. 90% of people doing this are gonna do it during brake changes anyway.

I personally don't care for the color, but the incredible detail and workmanship is second to none!! Satisfied my OCD 😁✌
Looks good! but why did you do the sticker over the clear coat instead of under?
This guy knows how to take care of his little gal. great job!
Thanks for the video! Good job!! How is your paint job holding up to wear and tear please?
On the next episode of working harder not smarter….😂
How many bottles of each you need for all 4 calipers, i have 4 big caliper front and rear
So use high temp clear then the two part clear? Is it a hardener or something?
Hi, thanks for the video. How many cans are needed for four calipers and rotors?
Looks so good cam! Glad you make it simple for people to do and understand!
Love spaceage. Mesa guy here.
Nice job on this. Great attention to detail.
What if you have old paint and you want to remove it to do a different color on your brakes. What would you recommend and on that process?
Perfect however I would for sure spray clear coat on the stickers too

Can I just sand blast the calipers after I tape/ take everything off them?

Where do y you get The Brembo decals ?
Does the base color need to be high temp? and why did you use high temp clear and 2k?

@@ThatsWhatSheSaid84so what would you need, just the primer, color, and either clear?
How much supplies will I need for all four calipers?
I would’ve cleared over the decals. Looks good though.
Talked to people who did both. Consensus was long game the stickers held very well even without clear over them so wanted to keep it simple
Muy buen trabajo !!!!👍
Why didn't you put clear coat over the decals?
Where are the little ramps from at the end of the video??? Those would make my life so much easier!
Why did you not clear coat over the sticker?
awesome . what a beautiful car.
Using a scotch brite pad is way easier to scuff up the calipers.
I love space age!😂
Place is literally not from here lol
I know it’s not but Cam makes everything look so easy 🔥
Why two types of clear?
Why did you use high temp clear and the 2k clear? I thought the 2k clear on its own would be fine. Is there a benefit of using the high temp clear?
Long game if that 2K clear starts to fade you probably wouldn’t even notice because there is already high temp clear underneath it. Security
I didn’t see you press the red cap until the puncture for the 2K clear glamour
It’s still sticking out of the bottom not flush
I did off camera cuz it acted finicky
@@CameronAlford good 😅 I haven’t tried it yet, expensive in Canada. Will stick with high solids euro clear 2:1 for now
Why not take the opportunity to bleed the brakes and just take the caliper off and be able to get to thing more easily?
You’re selling? How much 👀
smoked tails next?
Should have put stickers on before clear! Stickers don’t peel then
How many cans of each did you use?
1 of each it was perfect
@@CameronAlford 1 can per caliper?
Are these brakes actually brembo?
Front ones are yes
How schmick does that look!!!
Wanna do my car 😁😁
STEP 1: Remove calipers
Why not just remove the caliper?
A fluorescent yellow may have looked better than a Chiquita banana yellow
💔 another upload that’s not 22b content 😢
Still watching this one though!
I have been scheming the next udpate on that car, dont worry!
@@CameronAlford Awesome! Love your channel!
Cleannnn
u need to wait at least one month before ceramic coat...........to fully cure the paint

I prefer the Adam's Graphene along with many other options
You doing very hard step if you remove the caliper you have good work not hard and easy

Wasn't it easier to take off the calipers and paint them??? (instead covering the whole car)
there's scuff pads take them off do it properly
Bro said screwdriver is an upgraded finger tool.
A coat of clear over the stickers...
sheck out scuff pads
I would take the extra strep remove the caliper off the car to minimize the prep time and maybe your demons wouldn't be talking to you ;)
Love the video but this is not easy ... lmao. And I would argue it's not even remotely fast
Wrapping your car in plastic, sitting on your butt, taking some bolts in and out, patiently sanding with your hands, cleaning and spraying paint from aerosol cans.. anybody can do it
Fast my ass lol
Quicker than powder coating them!
Disassembling them and getting them powdercoated is the "not fast" version imo
