Hey, I'm delighted to hear that the products have worked for you! Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback.
For blackheads, you can purchase an extraction tool. Then, after taking a warm shower, you can remove them yourself - that's the simplest method.
Alternatively, you could visit an aesthetician who can take care of it promptly, and you'll be pleased with the results. 😀

Hello Melissa. I have been following your videos for quite sometime now. I really appreciate for all the information you're sharing. I want you to help me customise my current routine in case I am doing anything wrong.
My main concern: I have hyperpigmentation and my skin is dull.
    Morning routine:
    Cerave cleanser
    Azelaic acid 20%
    La Roaschy Moisturizer
    SPF 50
    Evening routine:
    Cleaner
    Hydroquinone 4%
    Tritinion 0.5%
    Moisturizer
So I came across your Alpha arbutin and Niacinamide video and it seems they're also good at fighting against hyperpigmentation. So if i were to incorporate these two ingredients when and how can i do? As always your efforts are really appreciated ❤

      @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet  Рік тому

I'm unsure about the performance of Hydroquinone 4%, and it's only available by prescription where I'm from due to potential concerns about damaging the skin or causing discoloration if used improperly. Therefore, for your skincare routine, I strongly recommend visiting a dermatologist. It's advisable to use these products under professional guidance while having your skin assessed, to avoid causing more harm than good.

Well, it won't do anything for your acne, as you need to figure out the root cause of it. However, it can help hydrate the skin. As for the glow that you often see, it's mainly just a trick, as often they do not apply it correctly or use too much of it, and they manipulate the lighting in a certain way to 'achieve' that glow.

    I got the:
    - SA smoothing cream from cera ve
    - SA cleanser from cera ve
    - Effeclar duo (+) from la roche posay
    - The beauty of josean sunscreen
    - 100% niacinamide powder from the ordinary
    - lactic acid serum from the ordinary
I struggle mostly with texture, due to closed comedones, opened comedones, large pores, and sometimes acne..
What would be the best routine to follow?

    • @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
      @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet  Рік тому +1

You'll need a base, such as hyaluronic acid, for The Ordinary's Niacinamide Powder; otherwise, it can't be used properly. Additionally, I suggest alternating between the CeraVe Foaming Cleanser and the SA Cleanser, to prevent your skin from drying out over time.
Aside from that, here's a routine you can follow:
      AM:
      Cleanse your skin.
      Pat dry.
      Apply Effaclar Duo.
      Wait 1-2 minutes.
      Apply sunscreen.
      PM:
      Cleanse your skin.
      Pat dry.
      Apply the Lactic Acid.
      Wait 1-2 minutes.
Mix Hyaluronic Acid with Niacinamide Powder and apply it to your skin.
I wouldn't recommend the SA cream for facial use because it's quite thick. While it's good for the body, it might not be as beneficial for the face.

How do you apply the essence? Do you apply it to clean, dry skin? If so, I don't believe that's the issue. The problem could be a delayed response to the retinol, or you might be using it too often, causing your skin to react in this manner.

Okay, so it is likely not the retinol.
After washing your face, you should gently pat it dry with a towel, ensuring there are no water drops on the skin surface. If your skin remains wet, it might lead to breakouts.
      Here is the difference:
Wet skin: This refers to skin that has a noticeable layer of water on it. You can see water droplets on the skin's surface and feel the water when you touch the skin.
Damp skin: This term describes skin that has been patted dry on the surface but still retains some internal moisture. There are no visible water droplets on the skin surface. It's akin to a sponge or a piece of clothing that, while no longer dripping, remains moist to the touch.
Dry skin: This term refers to skin that has not only been patted dry on the surface but has also been left to air dry completely for 5-10 minutes, allowing any residual moisture to evaporate. This process involves waiting before applying any products or continuing with other skincare routines. Doing so can be beneficial, especially when using potent treatments, as it allows them to absorb more slowly into the skin, thereby reducing potential irritation.
