I love how upfront and honest you are about paid advertising. Not only do you outright say it, but you make sure to put AD in all caps either in the video, description, title, etc. You’re one of the only influencers that I trust because of this! Thank you for being such a breath of fresh air 🥰
I'm eternally thankful for having a bitch face so people take me a lot more seriously at work and not be the eternal candidate for pull outs unless it's my real boss that ordered ( ward nurses you know what I'm talking about) Thanks for giving me less reasons to get the toxin.👍
Honestly.. I have tried almost everything to look younger + delay aging as much as possible, anything from face exercises, diff creams, vitamin C serum, Fraxel, collagen supplements and of course Retin A (7 years straight), home devices and what not. However, nothing made any real difference compared to the high-quality derma pen I purchased for under 100 bucks. Within 3 months of use, my skin has improved DRAMATICALLY. I don't look like I'm 18 again, but definitely not 41 either. My fine lines have disappeared completely, and my nasolabial folds are way less are nonexist (Never had jowls though). People often underestimate the power of wounding and the revolutionary effects it can have on the skin.
Shhhh...don't tell everyone! (Joking) Ive been microneedling for almost 10 years - most guess I'm @ 15 YEARS younger than my birth certificate says. I DO it myself at home, quote aggressively in places, and lightly in others,,maybe 1x month. I am 63
+1 for kora beauticaIs. I've been doing microneedling since it started 12 or so years ago. Nobody believe I am 55. They all say I am in my 30's or early 40's. As you know, as we get old, our skin gets thinner therefore creating wrinkles. But the wounding kept my skin still thick and youthful. Your comment will help so many women to restore their skin..
Taking an omega 3 supplement is the best thing I have ever done for my skin. All the creams, lotions, serums are lovely, but the omega 3s make sure that the new dermis production is healthy from the get-go.
I take omega 3s for my eye health, but I didn't consider it for my skin! Maybe that's one reason why my skin's so glowy (apart from my other skincare).
I'm turning 50 next year. What I can tell you for sure is that aging is not for the faint of heart. Everything falls down and everything thins out, even my libido.
Biote testosterone pellet therapy. Makes me less inclined to put my foot up the arses of people who need it and I've got the libido of a stereotypical 17 year old boy. It's worth having to pluck an extra whisker or two.
Staying hydrated internally and topically is something I've taken much more serious in my old age which I've noticed has given me great results. Retinol and snail mucin were game changers for my skin too.
I paused halfway through this video and bought 3 Korean SPF products because I have become a little lazy with SPF lately despite knowing how important it is!! New products always bring the excitement back
Being in my 30s now, this video speaks to me! I care far more now about my skin and what I use. I also have sensitive skin. James you have helped me find a regimen that works for me! 💜💜💜
I agree with you on eye creams. After seeing so many ppl say that they're useless, I tried using face moisturizers from the same line as my eye cream around my eyes and it wasn't the same. It would sting my eyes and wasn't hydrating enough. I like to put thick creams under my eyes but not my face, especially during the daytime and summer when it's hot. So yeah, after that trial I decided to keep using my favourite eyes creams.
One thing I would also add to keeping your skin well is to keep hydrated! Drinking water (or any fluids in general) not only keeps your skin looking as good as it can along with skin health is a key tip! And along with these good skincare tips are a plus. My go to’s are always hydration, moisturising and sun protection.
LOVE cosrx...I use the Retinol cream. I have sensitive skin to everything...soap, makeup, sunscreen, etc etc. Cosrx has never irritated my skin and I DO see a difference! I will be forever grateful for you suggesting it!
I’m really grateful for every birthday. But I also want to feel cared for, and I think skincare has helped me heal some of my self care skills. I use dermatica most days, and a niacinamide moisturiser or rose hip oil depending upon how dry I’m feeling. I use a gentle cleanse and sunscreen in the morning. Sometimes I use bakuchiol when I can’t use retinoids/retinol because my skin is too sensitive. Basically I hide from the sun, use my retinoids, and try not to die, and hope I keep feeling good. I honestly don’t care if I look awful as long as I feel good and I have my family.
I found your channel and had never taken skincare seriously, but that's changed. I started a routine about a month ago, just a pretty basic one. I have already noticed quite a difference in skin texture and hydration. It is too early for the other promised effects to be noticeable yet. I have noticed one benefit you haven't really mentioned, though, and this is one that has been huge for me. I've always been the take care of other people type of person and rarely take a moment for myself. Doing my skincare routine allows me to indulge in a bit of self-care a couple times a day, and carving that time out for me - to take care of me - has also had some profound mental health benefits.
I turn 51 on Saturday (Australian time) and honestly for the last couple of years my main focus has been on keeping my skin healthy rather than trying to reduce lines or wrinkles. The only thing I do that could be considered 'anti-ageing' is use a vitamin c serum to help with perimenopause related pigmentation. I also pay way more attention to what my skin actually needs, and adjust my skincare routine accordingly. The weather here at the moment is in a bit of a transitional phase, so no longer in the depths of winter, but haven't quite hit spring weather yet, and this is my current morning and evening skincare routine: Morning: 1) Initial cleanse with Milk of Roses 'toner' (1811 recipe made with almond oil, glycerine, rosewater, gum benjamin and oil of tartar ) using a cotton pad (I use fairly heavy creams at night so I find my skin needs a first cleanse in the morning) 2) Cleanse with Sukin Roeship Nourishing Cream Cleanser. Gentle manual exfoliation with a soft wash cloth if needed) 3) Pat on a toner depending on what my skin needs (1914 rosewater and glycerine recipe, if my skin needs some extra hydration - 1833 'Virgin's Milk' recipe made with rosewater, gum of benjamin, and balm of gilead if my skin needs more soothing for things like redness and irritation) 4) Apply Simple brand Vitamin C serum 5) Moisturise with Oil of Olay sensitive skin moisturiser (SPF 50+ sunscreen if I'm going out) Evening: 1) First cleanse with Orange Flower Cold Cream (1887 recipe made with almond oil, jojoba oil, orange blossom water, and beeswax), remove with a warm damp soft (non exfoliating) face cloth 2) Second cleans with From Tree to Tub Soap Berry for Face Foaming Cleanser 3) Toner same as above, depending on skin needs 4) Apply Vitamin C serum 5) Moisturise with Oil of Olay sensitive skin moisturiser. Wait for moisturiser to absorb fully. 6) 'Slug' with a 'night cream' depending on what my skin needs (1822 Cream of Roses made with almond oil, jojoba oil, rosewater, rose oil, beeswax and lard, if my skin needs soothing for irritation and redness - 1884 Glycerine Cream made with golden jojoba, attar of rose, almond oil, beeswax, and glycerine, if my skin needs some extra hydration - 1896 'Cleopatra's Enamel' made with almond oil, rose water, myrrh, honey, rose oil and beeswax if my skin just needs an overall good extra moisturising)
Peptides are the best did my skin. The Paula’s choice pro-collagen peptide booster is absolutely unreal. You can feel your face firm up and smooth out. Wonderful product. The Biossance squalane/copper peptide serum is beautiful too. Allies of Skin have a good one too with that instant firming feel.
I love the Tocobo sun screen. I started using it because you suggested it on a previous video, so thanks. I’m also trying to figure out what’s best for my aging skin so keep the info coming.
I'm 50, and noticing that peptides have improved the kinda soft, less bouncy bits in my cheeks and jawline, and under the chin. Really interested in getting LED mask because quite honestly anything that makes me have to lie down and relax is something I NEED, so I'll check out the video you suggested. Thanks again for your clearly stated info and advice. Love your content.
I needed this - it seemed from 2019 to now I overnight had differences to my face and skin and am lost in what works as I tried so many without any positive results
I have been on my tretinoin game for 2 years and am now committed to morning Vit C cuz I love Naturium’s, but more recently I have been taking microcurrent more seriously (I’m 36). PillowtalkDerm’s video about jowls and how “one day in your mid30s you wake up and look in the mirror and feel like you look different” HAPPENED TO ME and she was saying consistent microcurrent is really one of the few things you can do at home to fight gravity !
Oh, I love peptides! I used to use them some years ago and they broke me out, then I learnt that some peptides are good certain skin types and also the maturity of the skin makes a Big difference. Now I love them, but I use low cost serums. Also, use them along your retinol (first retinol, second your Pepsi) as long as they aren't from copper, and you'll see your skin become even better🫶🏻✨
I wish yt didn’t take a portion, but I really just wanted to say that you’ve made me so much more confident about my skin and how to properly care for it. I know which dermatologists to listen to on yt because of you, as I can’t go to one since none of the derms around me are taking my state funded insurance (I’m disabled). I’ve never felt pretty or good about myself until listening to you and Robert, how natural and attainable you make it all out to be. Plus you make me laugh my ass off because my sisters and I are just like you 😂 (same age group and into Kpop btw, James 🫰🏻). Anyway, here take your dollar and buy yourself something nice okay, don’t spend it all in one place! 🥲 (I’m poor but ily guys okay). ❤ Jenn
I TOTALLY CARE!!🙋🏼♀️💜 Your honest opinions on all of these products and how to apply them are VERY important! It's refreshing to those of us who are trying these types of serums/eye cream/light therapy/botox and so on, that they may be working and not a LOAD of BS 💩! Thank you James 😇👏💜
I’ve been using a red light mask for almost two years and have seen a huge improvement in the wrinkles around my eyes.I keep it right next to my bed and when my alarm goes off I put the mask on while I snooze for 10 minutes. It makes it very easy to be consistent with it. I use it every other day.
I use the currentbody LED light therapy mask every day , I have been now for 6 months. I use it along with the mysama green tea antioxidant serum. My rosacea has disappeared! That’s the main reason I use it. I’m a Botox and filler virgin but now I’m 47 I think I’m gonna pop that cherry soon. I just fear looking overfilled! I have lost some weight and my cheeks have lost a lot of volume and I think filler is now the way to go. As usual ….fab video ❤
Thank you for the retinol recs, been wanting to start using one, but I've been worried that I'd end up with one that's too strong for my sensitive skin 😊
@@bil8647Bakuchiol doesn’t have the decades of research behind it that Retinol does. It’s kind of a Retinol “alternative”, but in my opinion it’s no where near as effective or proven to be on the same level as Retinol
I decided to use style Korean for my first time ordering k beauty and I was so pleased with it! Idk if this is cuz I hit the US minimum for free shipping but its came in less than a week and wasn't stopped by customs or anything and stuff is usually cheaper than it is at Olive lounge even though olive young has a lower free ship minimum
I have the Heimish Marie's care eye cream. Style Korea sent it to me as a free gift with my purchase. Love it. It does a perfume scent that is a bit strong for me, but still love it.
I know you are suspicious of vitamin c but you should definitely try the innisfree vitamin c serum - it’s amazing. I thought those serums were a load of BS until I got a free sample for it and now I’m in love - I have very sensitive skin and for once I have no redness! Normally I’m a tomato! It’s really hydrating, I love it.
I swear everyone's mum used to work for Avon. 😂 I've always tried to use peptides in my routine, bc it's worth trying IMO. The PSA serum is niiiiiice - the niacinamide/peptide one. It's a nice way of combining them with a staple ingredient.
IOMA Paris has an appliance that does skin analysis which measures 7 aspects of skin health including (1) moisture (2) lines (3) wrinkles (4) firmness (5) redness (6) bacterial activity and (7) dark spots. It would be interesting for you to do this before and ater testing certain products for a while- especially new ingredients or costly products.
The Olay Collagen Peptide range is wonderful. Regular half price deals at Boots make it so affordable. I'm not going to age gracefully, I'm 52 and have been using targeted skincare since I was 18 and it shows! (so I'm told). My mum is the same she looks a decade younger. I'd love to have a go at the LED therapy but doubt I'll ever be brave enough for botox
Have you tried the super serum from Olay ? I saw a video partnership on it with a derm and she was saying it's a good product because it's a all in 1 product
The Glow Recipe pomegranate serum is on Cult Beauty and one of the 20% off codes works on it! I'm using the good molecules retinol, early days but I like the texture
I love Style Korean! It’s a great store for getting value for money, which means we can be more generous and not so stingy with how much product we use.
The light therapy mask I got has made such a fast and drastic change to my skin. Mine has a setting to cycle through all the colour ranges and turns off automatically at 15min. No more pimples. Super plump skin. No more post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. I look so good! Plus my perfect skin routine I finally landed on
I'm in my mid thirties and just do sunscreen, ordinary's retinol, and a nourishing face cream and lip mask (its dry here). I think I look pretty good and have a leg up because I was a goth for most of my teenage and 20s and always covered up in the sun. Now I'm a big hat lady so I don’t have to mess with sunscreen on my face as often. Lol
I have the QURE led mask and it’s done wonders for my rosacea! Do it in the morning after cleansing - took a while to get into the routine but after 12 weeks, daily, seeing the differences - I can never go back! Also using the ESTEE LAUDER vit c serum during the day (its great, not oily, not stingy and doesn’t stink of fake orange) - then using Tretinoin 0.1% (retirdes from Spain because its too expensive in the uk hehe) and those, together, work wonders!
Hi there's a pharmacie online in Andorra that sells retirides (tretinoine). Farmacia Torrent check if It ships to uK. I get mine there and they usually cost 20€. Maybe you'll have to go through customs
I care and appreciate all the information you share always. I need to look more into peptides and do my research about when is the best time to use it in my routine as I chemically exfoliate and don't want to mix things what can cause angry skin
I certainly care and am always interested in suggestions. I’ll be 45 in about a week and I don’t wanna do fillers or Botox but I do use tretinoin and have been for a few years and I faithfully use sunscreen.
James, Love your videos.. I am almost 40 now and haven't tried Retinol and I'm going to start now. My skin is pretty good and no crow's feet yet.. let's see how long that lasts. Can you help do a video about all the options like vitamin C vs amino acids vs retinol.. like when to use them and how often or which is better or should we use all and rotate them. i use a lot of products based off your videos and i want to ensure i can improve and stay on track with maintaining my skin.
THE COSRX .5 RETINOL IS THE BEST. It's cheap and it works and it doesn't break me out or dry me out. I pair it with their vitamin c 23, and my skin has never looked better. then i pair it with hadalabo premium and nivea creme. I'm going to purchase ILIYOON peptide creme soon. I cant wait. Also my hands, i put it in my hand so it now looks way better
I am 32 and use sunscreen everyday, eyecream, a good moisturizing serum and I started with retinol (also the cosrx one) and switched over to Tretinoid. Still getting used to it because its really potent. Like said its the only really scientifically proven anti aging substance (vitamin a) that helps with anti aging so I am dedicated to use it for as long as possible, basically forever unless I get sick of it :D
The Rhode Skin face trio has been a revelation for my 54 year old combo-leaning-dry skin. I'm looking plump and dewy and feeling bouncy and hydrated, and it's playing very well with my favourite skin tints. Am totally sold on the brand. Topicals Faded has also worked wonders to fade old sun damage and even skin tone. Yes, yes, yes to Botox! Used judiciously and administered by a well-qualified practitioner, it can take several years off of the visage and soften one's overall appearance. I concur that if it's in your budget and you're interest is piqued, try it without shame.
I started using some anti-aging stuff in my skin routine at the start of covid (particularly the vitamin-c serum and a creamy retinol serum, I'm 26 now), and my step-mom asked why i need retinol at my age. I told her I'm never too young to start using anti-aging products, my skin will thank me later. She squinted at me and went "touchè" lol granted, nobody thinks I'm even an adult, but i never know when that'll change 😂
I have loved the No7 retinol and matrixyl (peptide) night concentrate, I got it in a bundle that cost less than the price of the product itself lol. It is very pricey, and once it runs out I'll be trying to instead use a retinol emulsion and matrixyl + HA serum from the ordinary, it seems like the retinol and peptides are such a good combo.
Anti Aging used to mean my Mom using “Oil of Olay” in the pink and black bottle. Now there are 700 options. I’ve purchased too much. What I got from this video was that filler and botox good if done well, sunscreen, retinol, peptides, vitamin C, eye cream, LED if not garbage mask. Motivated to get back to my Asian beauty routine with the actives layered in.
I swear I remember you being very much against eye creams. I hope you changed your mind but there are so many good and specialised eye creams out there. I have very dry and thin under eye area and I love the Reviderm neuro eye cream with DMS that keeps hydration under my eye area because it gets so dry during the day, specifically during winter. I tried using just a face cream before but it just didn’t work as good as an eye cream. I also got for my night time routine ROC retinol eye cream, and that one is really amazing! Great video btw!
I used to DESPISE eye creams! But been reviewing them / using for the last couple of years!! Ohhhh I’ve not heard of either of those! I’ll check them out! 💜
That’s crazy I started LED treatment about 3 weeks ago and was struggling with pimples and pimple marks FOR YEARSSS. And now I’ve noticed a HUGE reduction in my pimples and marks and my skin looks clearer over all. Prior to that I had done all the facials and sooo many skincare products and nothing helped.
Hey James! Thanks for making this video... Was actually waiting for this. Can you also please share your skincare routine when using led mask? For example What kind of serum do you use under led mask? Do you wear any eye covers with this led mask you use?
James, have you ever heard of or tried “luxury” Korean skincare brands like ISA KNOX or Sooryehan? I have been using the ISA KNOX and Sooryehan essences and emulsions which variously have peptides, black lily, and placenta (which I think are are similar to human growth factors) and have had amazing results. My skin is softer, bouncier and feels very hydrated and nourished. Maybe you could investigate and make a video? I promise the results are real.
Im African american and in my community we usually act like we don’t need sunscreen but I’ve def taken it seriously and use it spf 50 also aha and bha work well for my skin along with eye creams and moisturizers and handy trentionion
Sunscreen and heaps of hydration (got very dry skin), whatever will be, will be after that 😂 I have multiple severe chronic illnesses so I dont have the energy to deal with complicated routines and trying to balance actives and whatever else I'm suppose to be doing. Face wash, hydrating toner, moisturiser. Done.
I have very red rosacea. Luckily I don't have the breakouts that tend to go with it. Been to 2 dermatologists who really haven't given me anything that helps. I'm now 41 and so tired of people asking "are you ok? your face is so red!" Yes I know my face is red but that doesn't mean you need to point it out to me which in turn makes me flush and get redder!! I really enjoy Glow recipe, and belief products. They seem to help keep things calm-ish!
I have had the same my whole life, except that after I had covid, then long covid, I had the "blessing" to get a huge breakout of the pustules for about eight months. I then got bitten by a tick (huge problem in my area) and my doctor gave me a longer, lower dosage of doxycycline to prevent lyme disease, because it is also used for treating rosacea. It worked and my skin finally cleared, though I am now off it and we are waiting to see how much of the redness returns.
@@JamesWelsh 1 of them did give me some kind of cream that was supposed to last 8 hours but i didn't like the smell so I used it once and that was the end of that. I don't think it was called mirvaso though.
Hi I 72 I have been having fillers since I was 56 yr old my face is great but my neck is getting a little old what cream would you recommend to make it look a lot better, Thank you love you show
I bought the Omnilux red light mask. I have/had great hopes about it after seeing Angie (from Hot n Flashy) RAVE about it. However, I’m finding that if I use it more than once a week, I break out in cystic acne. I’m 52 and still waiting for my “teenage” acne issues to leave forever! 😖😫
I started using differin a few years ago because of acne. My acne is loads better now, but I wonder if differin is good for anti-aging or should I switch to another retinol product
tanx james ...more such videos ....so much knowledge which we dont knew about it ....loved to be a part of ur journey .... lots of love from INDIA ... pls make more such videos ...from this videos uh have clear my perception for vitamin c as its gone so viral ...
My eyes were reacting SO BADLY to eye creams I thought I'd never be able to use them, but I've found one I've that actually seems to help. Never thought I would
@@andie1508 Alpha-H Eye serum. I mean, even that burned and stung the first few times randomly, but now it's stopped and my eyeskin is the best it's been in 3 years. I was getting constant eczema flare ups and the skin was starting to be permanently craggly and puffy. This has settled it down even when steroid creams couldn't.
Medik8’s C Tetra Luxe vitamin C serum smells beautiful to me, like citrus-y fresh & sweet. I also get complimented on how bright & nice my makeup free face looks when I use it which should definitely be more often given how quick the results are! I have severe urticaria problems & sensitive skin but not had an issue with C Tetra Luxe so far. I also got on well with Summer Fridays CC Me serum as far as my skin conditions but it didn’t give me instant results as good as Medik8 does. Hope this helps someone!
@@MinPinSteve I had been using the Summer Fridays CC Me fairly regularly prior to getting my first Tetra Luxe sample, so if you’re new to vitamin C or have quite sensitive skin, I’d recommend starting with the Tetra (or any other gentler vitC serum) & seeing how you progress!
I’m 51 and have used Nivea skin cream forever - up until the last 2 years I’ve had no wrinkles at all, but I think that’s just down to having good genes. I do take it a lot more seriously now and since I’ve been using retinol daily with hyloronic acid and using sunscreen, I’ve seen a huge improvement in the plumpness of my skin. Definitely keeping it up as no crows feet yet and whilst I could do with some filler and Botox to totally remove 3 fine lines in my forehead, I think given I’m now in my 50s I want to age gracefully.
Apparently, the best age to start Botox for it to help with developing fine lines and wrinkles is 26 years old! And then you have to keep it up. It’s a grim, but true reality that we all get older and our skin will age. I’ve told everyone I know that prevention is better than cure. Botox wasn’t mainstream when I was 26, but skincare was! You’re never too young to start using anti aging skincare. I was around 20 when I started and at 44, I get compliments. I’m happy with that! 😊
Best anti aging 'tip' I've got in my work: always choose night shift if humanly possible. I'm paid to avoid the sun and the rest of humanity and my skin and bank account is reaping the benefits bightime.
I've had the same talk with my mom over and over , I'm 29 and everytime she sees me use anything that says anti-age, anti-wrinkle, reafirming, brightening etc etc she is like "but you dont have wrinkles/other issue why are you putting that stuff in your face? you dont need it" and she tries to tell me that stuff is gonna make my skin worse! and everytime I explain its preventive its like she closes her brain lol
@@lipstickzombie4981I wouldn’t work overnight shifts. There’s been studies where there’s been a correlation between working night shifts and developing cancer. Might not mean causation but I don’t think biologically we’re meant to stay up all night
u can try misshaa vita c ampoule james ..its very good and doesn't sting at all because it has vita c in laposomy form so its mild but effective as well 😊
I was wondering if you had any thoughts about e.l.f buying Naturium? I love them both, but I wonder if this will lead to any changes in prices, formulas, etc
I care!! 😊😄 and I agree to everything you said in this video. I'm 31 and my skin looks like 24-25 y.o. I get botox & filler too. I'm a little crazy with my skin care sometimes but it's about the only thing I do. My goal is to see how far my skin will continue to look youthful as I age gracefully. And it makes me feel good & confident to keep looking amazing. I get compliments when walking in a store or at a job. Ladies will ask me what I'm doing to my skin 😊. ✨️
I’m almost 36 now. I don’t really mind looking “my age” as much as I thought I would… BUT one thing I care as I age is how my skin feels. I don’t want to be itchy, tight, or “dry” anymore (if that make sense). I’m “old” now, I want comfort and calming things, including skincare ❤
My mum didn't start getting serious about skincare until she was in her early 50's, for all the reasons you describe. Like me, she has very dry skin that gets tight and irritated easily, but finding a good routine has solved this problem as well as making her skin much more radiant. She often gets mistaken for being in her forties now even though she's turning 60 next year!
I've had an extensive skincare routine since I was 20, but I wish I was born in this time when technology and knowledge is so much more advanced. I probably would've started skincare at birth lol and could look even younger. I'm turning 36 soon and the other day the Costco sample lady thought I was under 18 and wouldn't let me try an energy drink sample haha. I use sunscreen religiously, vitamin C in the morning, copper peptides at night, lots of peptides, tretinoin, red light therapy every night. My biggest issue is hyperpigmentation because my skin is just prone to it, so I use a lot of products to target that and wear a sun visor like all the time lol
Immortal night milk youth restore facial serum by Provence beauty is the only my skin can handle. I’ve tried them all! All the others make skin dry red and irradiated and I’ve been on my retinol journey for over 3 years. No adverse side effects and it is a .05 strength. It works also. The pores on my nose are barely noticeable now! It’s cheap too. Under $25. But! The bottle it comes in is clear so I keep the box it came in and put it back in the box after I apply it. Even my sensitive skin can handle nightly use.
I definitely care about looking after my skin, and even in my early thirties I am seeing a big difference between my skin and that of my peers due to me always wearing SPF. Even relatives younger than me look older because they don't use any kind of SPF. I want to incorporate more steps into my skincare routine but I don't know how, I'm concerned about using products that shouldn't be used together, and I don't know what products to use to target my skincare concerns. It's all so daunting. Atm I use a micellar gel wash morning and night, followed by a Simple toner, Simple eye cream, and a Simple moisturiser in the evening or SPF in the morning. Sometimes I use a brightening serum but I really don't know if it is making a difference. I was also using a cosrx BHA three times a week but have gotten a little lax on it for some reason so I'll probably have to build my way back up to being able to use it so frequently again.
I almost forgot about innisfree, at one point almost every product in my AM routine was theirs. On another note, speaking of peptides I use Good Molecules Super Peptide Serum as my last serum before moisturizer, this is my AM routine anti aging product. For my PM routine I go in with the Ordinary’s retinol serum and I like it just fine, minor purging phase and no dryness, irritation or sensitivity. I have seen a difference with these two products which I started at different times, so I could really see if I had any results. After 3 months of consistency I saw results. I did try other products/brands and for about two years was trying different things and these two work for me so I stick with them. Honestly it’s so difficult with these anti-aging products because to really see results you have to be consistent and use them for a decent amount of time. So I probably won’t be switching them out unless for whatever reason I feel that they’re not working for me anymore or at some point when I eventually will need to bump up my retinol.
YESSSSS Crow's feet are my favorite wrinkles, and I started developing them when I hit 30. I'm 33 now and they're definitely noticeably there, but I LOVE them.
James, what would you recommend as an alternative for retinol? It’s not talked about enough but in some cases, it can worsen or even cause dry eyes (last one mostly when it comes to medical usage or high potency etc.) and I’ve not only met people to whom that happened but I experienced it myself. I also have sicca syndrome since a year and whenever I use retinol on my face, leaving the eye area out, my eyes burn sooo badly. Any ideas for alternatives? Would be very happy to hear some ☺️
Omg I ordered two from their website haha 😅 I’m loving it but want to try it for another month as well as when my Botox wear off just to see how it does with those fine lines!
I love it too! RetinAl is only one conversion from tret and doesn't seem to irritate at all. The boj is .05 and after I used it up with no issues I switched to Naturium .1 and it's great.
I love when James wears his solar panels during a video
LMAOOOOOO 😂😂😂😂😂
I’m still on the pre video ad and I know EXACTLY what you’re talking about lolololol 💗
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Omg I love that one. He is charging
We love a sustainability queen
"we all know it's a privilege to age" wish more people understood that
fr wish people didn't view aging so grimly 😶
It absolutely is, but I refuse to do it gracefully lol!! 😂
I don’t know how to take that from someone who admits to botox treatments and fillers. But it’s his face. 🤷♂️

@@kiyotan1048 Don’t get me wrong. I appreciate the transparency from a skincare influencer.
I love how upfront and honest you are about paid advertising. Not only do you outright say it, but you make sure to put AD in all caps either in the video, description, title, etc. You’re one of the only influencers that I trust because of this! Thank you for being such a breath of fresh air 🥰
I'm a scowler, and the biggest benefit of Botox for me has been having people think I am a much more pleasant person than I actually am. 😉
Ahhhh same 😂😂 I know when it’s time for Botox when I catch my pissed off looking face in a reflection 🥲
😂 me too! I haven’t had any Botox yet but I’m now 47 and I have some 11 lines from scowling and frowning ….
Hahahahaha so you’re saying you look approachable? 😂 Same here 😂
I'm eternally thankful for having a bitch face so people take me a lot more seriously at work and not be the eternal candidate for pull outs unless it's my real boss that ordered ( ward nurses you know what I'm talking about) Thanks for giving me less reasons to get the toxin.👍
😂
Thank you for this. 52 yrs old. I normally skip over these "anti-aging" videos from others, but when I saw it was you, I knew I could trust it ❤
Could you tell us which derma pen brand please ? Thanks for the comment by the way!
Korabeauticals V2
Shhhh...don't tell everyone! (Joking)
Ive been microneedling for almost 10 years - most guess I'm @ 15 YEARS younger than my birth certificate says.
How often do you do it?
It's worth having to pluck an extra whisker or two.
oooof this is all true, turned 41 this year and things aren't were they used to be the past few years 😂
Staying hydrated internally and topically is something I've taken much more serious in my old age which I've noticed has given me great results.
I'm in late 40s and never thought I would be slugging.....but it does make a difference to bags and puffyness providing you keep it up.
The weather here at the moment is in a bit of a transitional phase, so no longer in the depths of winter, but haven't quite hit spring weather yet, and this is my current morning and evening skincare routine:
Morning:
1) Initial cleanse with Milk of Roses 'toner' (1811 recipe made with almond oil, glycerine, rosewater, gum benjamin and oil of tartar ) using a cotton pad (I use fairly heavy creams at night so I find my skin needs a first cleanse in the morning)
2) Cleanse with Sukin Roeship Nourishing Cream Cleanser. Gentle manual exfoliation with a soft wash cloth if needed)
3) Pat on a toner depending on what my skin needs (1914 rosewater and glycerine recipe, if my skin needs some extra hydration - 1833 'Virgin's Milk' recipe made with rosewater, gum of benjamin, and balm of gilead if my skin needs more soothing for things like redness and irritation)
4) Apply Simple brand Vitamin C serum
5) Moisturise with Oil of Olay sensitive skin moisturiser
(SPF 50+ sunscreen if I'm going out)
Evening:
1) First cleanse with Orange Flower Cold Cream (1887 recipe made with almond oil, jojoba oil, orange blossom water, and beeswax), remove with a warm damp soft (non exfoliating) face cloth
2) Second cleans with From Tree to Tub Soap Berry for Face Foaming Cleanser
3) Toner same as above, depending on skin needs
4) Apply Vitamin C serum
5) Moisturise with Oil of Olay sensitive skin moisturiser.
I started retinol to get rid pf my bumpy skin and since i'm in my 40s, i guess it will help for other things too.
Thanks to you my face skin is in so much better now, always a joy to watch your channel.
I love her channel. I plan to buy her vitamin c moisturizer.
I love your velcro hair things! I think anyone with bangs should have those. My anti aging skin care is sunscreen, and a good hydrating toner.
Ohhh thanks for the tip! Will forever call peptides Pepsi from now on
@@JamesWelsh hahahaha that was my phone! I didn't notice🤣🤣🤣 but I will calle them like that, too, to be honest🤣🤣🤣🤣
What red light mask product do you use if you don’t mind me asking :)

This COSRX one is really nice! The ordinary do something similar but I found it a little tooooo greasy compared to the COSRX one
@@JamesWelsh What do you think of Bakuchiol? It seems more effective than retinoids with out the burning and irritation.
@@bil8647Bakuchiol doesn’t have the decades of research behind it that Retinol does. It’s kind of a Retinol “alternative”, but in my opinion it’s no where near as effective or proven to be on the same level as Retinol
I highly recommend the TO one :) I have very sensitive skin and I started at once per week on the 0.5% in Squalane
I still use the large Ampoules you recommended with peptide and ceramides, thank y
The bubble bath tho!

I've just bought the cosrx peptide serum and I'm really excited to try it!
Ooooo! I’m going to have to try the COSRX retinol!! They are my favourite Korean brand , and I have to thank you James for getting me into it 🩷🩷🩷
James, Love your videos..
Love your videos James! You’re opinions are so honest and you always make me laugh. 😂
Do you mind sharing what brands you are you using? :)
Loved all of this ❤ I care James
What product have you been using?
Please don't speak for our community because we are not a monolith. I grew up with great grandparents using spf and they were from Jim Crow era
Could you say what you’re using to apply the eye cream? I’m intrigued!!!
Done.
I have my skincare on my bedside table and do it when I’m taking my medicine while sitting on my bed. (Because of chronic illness, pain, fatigue, etc)
Omg I hate when people point out how red me cheeks get 😭 habe you tried mirvaso gel?
@@JamesWelsh 1 of them did give me some kind of cream that was supposed to last 8 hours but i didn't like the smell so I used it once and that was the end of that. I don't think it was called mirvaso though.

Just curious, which one worked for you?
@@andie1508 Alpha-H Eye serum. I mean, even that burned and stung the first few times randomly, but now it's stopped and my eyeskin is the best it's been in 3 years. Also now that you’re mentioning LED, Foreo Ufo also has LED, I remember you reviewing that shortly/talking about it once
Can you do a Korean skincare routine for oily and acne prone skin?

I wanted to add, that I also have an identical twin. And we don't really look identical anymore. 😅
Great video. Very informative ❤
Hello. Good Afternoon James💜Happy Thursday 💜😊
Mid 30s checking in and I love your content!
The cosrx retinol oil should be used before or after moisturizing? Or just by itself?
James, I would love your opinion on Caudalie, esp. the Resveratrol line. I feel it gets a lot of hype abd I‘m unsure if I should try it.
YESSSSS Crow's feet are my favorite wrinkles, and I started developing them when I hit 30. I'm 33 now and they're definitely noticeably there, but I LOVE them.
Ooooh very excited to hear more about the new peptide! Paulas Choice Peptide Booster & Biossance Copper Peptide are both really good too!
My two favourites too!
Would be very happy to hear some ☺️
God, I wish your videos were longer! I want to hear you talk a bit more!! Love you❤❤❤❤
I ordered 2 of the GR Pomegranate serum today from Cult Beauty…cannot wait for them to arrive Friday.
Omg I ordered two from their website haha 😅 I’m loving it but want to try it for another month as well as when my Botox wear off just to see how it does with those fine lines!
@@JamesWelsh I ordered one from their website too lol! I’m going home to LA for a visit in a few weeks so I can use one there ☺️
Love the beauty of joseon ginseng and retinal eye cream. I use it all over my face. I switched my Avene Retinal cream for the BoJ one
Omg I forgot about that eye cream!! I love it 😭😭
Yeah it's so nice. No irritation and I have rosacea. I pair it with a tallow balm or klairs soothing cream. Magic.
I love it too! RetinAl is only one conversion from tret and doesn't seem to irritate at all. The boj is .05 and after I used it up with no issues I switched to Naturium .1 and it's great.
