Awesome demo Pete! I own a couple of Sherlock amplifiers they are versatile killer amps with midi switching the channels, gain stages and voicings. I’ve had this V3 pedal for a few months and love it. It gives me the Sherlock preamp sounds I’m familiar with plugged into a small combo or backline. It’ll do edgy cleans, blues, rock, hi gain and way beyond. Well done Mr Dale Sherlock this pedal truly rocks!
Thank you Pete for the great demo, I really get a sense of what the V3 can do. All in 10min to boot! Well done as usual :)
Another amazing demo Pete! I've been digging the Sunday hang outs as well
Just downloaded your jam track from iTunes. Thank you Pete, loving taking a lead over your rhythm.
Sounds amazing so I am getting one for sure !!! Great demo as always Pete.
That is one great sounding pedal, I really like the lower gain tones. As always, thanks Pete.
Dale makes great stuff and he's a great guy :) He's been my amp tech for years.
Awesome sounding pedal and one of your most ripping solos to date. Just straight balls to the wall lead playing and I wouldn't want it any other way with that tone.
So excellent! Cool to hear more about you & your young life. You aww awesome Pete Thorn.
Damn that sounded good...love the articulation you got with lots of crunch...great demo!
Nice. Very amp-like. Plus the lighting is a nice bonus. Easy to see which channel you’re on. Thanks for sharing!
Great demo as always! Mike Soldano was saying on Tone Talk that he gave another company his blessing to make their take of his Supercharger GTO pedal; this seems to be that company. Sounds awesome! Damn it...now I totally need one in my life.
Great review, I am sold, now to save my pennies, I want this beast. Keep up the great work, Pete, your demos are excellent.
Man Pete, I'm late to the party on this but this pedal sounds fantastic. I have to check out some Sherlock amps now. Great demo.
My first valve amp in the early 90's was made by Dale Sherlock ... a three channel rack preamp, with a dual 50 watt valve power amp. I still have them to this day ... awesome vintage Soldano/Boogie Rectifier type sound ...
Great playing as always, Pete! Hope you have fun at NAMM! Don't blow your ears! :D
Wow. This sounds fantastic.
Damn you, Pete! Every time I here you play that 335 I get bloated with G.A.S.!!!!
That sounds incredible.
The master, great work....again.
Awesome! Great to see some Sherlock gear in your studio Pete! Dale Sherlock is a fantastic and legendary amp builder here in Australia, his FatHead 4ch. amps are absolutely Killer = World class modern amp designs & tones (that honestly crush most other top "boutique" brands). Definitely worth a look guys!

Totally agree. Dale's Fathead is as good as it gets and deserves more recognition than it gets.
I can personally also say after owning a Fat Head, that it was second to none! Dale was a top guy also who always had time for me!
Late to the party but another +1 for the Sherlock Fathead, it cured my Amp GAS 100%
@@nooneknows3478 I'm thinking about purchasing a Fathead. Is the tone more based on Rectos? I.e. that fat chunky low end tone?
Great riff bro! Great playing too!
Awesome Pete thorn
Vaguely Andy Summers sort of vibe but whatever, I loved the video and could watch you play any style for an age.
Gonna get Sherlock to work on my Amp after Corona.
He's awesome and in my home town.
That's the coolest looking pedal ever.
No Argument here. It does look cool. Sounds warm too.
The only Ric-James damn, you beat me to it
Thanks Pete.
very cool!! not cheap but looks very solid and hi-quality.. sounds great!
For me its kind of vintagy vibe. I have a Mashall Jubilee and it sounds a lot like it! Great video
Yup...your camera is working over time. Keep it up Pete!
Great vid Pete..! You should check out Sherlock Amplifiers amp called the 'Fat Head'. An absolute monster of an amp!
That pedal sounds amazing. I really like the sound of it, an also that it has a really good sweep on all the controls. Alot of pedals today dont change much when adjusting them kinda making them a one trick pony type pedal. Sherlock you can sure send me one over if ya like.
Everything sound great if you are Pete thorn, I hope I could play a 5% as good as you.
just when I've thought Pete just killed it on the last demo
Aussie band Hadal Maw run these into EHX 44 Magnums and their stage sound is reddddddddddddd hotttttt - their bass player also uses one live, sounds so good.
Could this be used as a preamp then running into something like the Suhr ACE, going to the board?
Pedal sensacional
Hey, Pete. Love all the vids. However could you do something to show how your new pedal boards Friedman Buffer is connected. I can tell it's obviously something good, but I don't get how it all gets connected and to what etc. Thanks.
Caught a lick from the Monster Movie solo in there!
Muito bom!!!
Will there ever be a piece of guitar gear with a three band EQ that doesn't require the bass to be cut way back to get a nice clear tone?
WOW!!! THANK YOU, VERY MUCH, PETE, FOR THIS AWESOME DEMO!!!... ["SHARED" ON GAB.AI ]
excellent
combine all the jams from the review and make an album. I think that's pretty cool...
Ripping demo Pete. Considering Dale Sherlock lives less that 5 minutes from me I am going to have to get one of these
Hey Pete, in the first Dito example, is that your guitar with split coils or just the regular HB?
I wonder if this would sound great through a Roland JC120? Gotta give it a try.
That solo though!
“... fuck you’re fluid.”
with all the gear reviews, i would like to know what's on your pedal board... what do you end up keeping?
Do a brown sound video please!!
Hei Pete, where is your New album?
Hey Pete, great demo! Tubes are good!! Love to know what you use to make your drum tracks? Cheers!
Sorry, with a little research I found the answer... slate drums. \m/ cheers
Hi Pete, this one in a baby bomb 30 mooer power amp it could be cool, no ?
Omfg.
Where can I get one in the UK (and what do they cost?)
Hey Pete...I got kinda confused by the DOUBLE TRACK ? was that completely the pedals ability or was that something you added extra from somewhere else? Thanks brother
Ngl I found this company cause my dads Australian and it gave me the idea to look up Australian amps and this came up not disappointed omg edit: ggeees this thing is so expensive for a pedal
Like having another amp in the form of a stomp box!
First! You demo so much great equipment Pete. I like these too. Good video. Thank you.
If this pedal sucks it can also just do as a bedside lamp...depending on what mood you’re in....rhythm or lead..😂
With Mushrooms?
😂😂😂
Price?
I wonder how this compares with the Kingsley stuff?
Its like the Kingsley proper high voltage tube preamp in a pedal but its PCB design not handwired
I do too, I'm Australian but I think I like the Kingsley videos I have heard better.
The Kingsley pedals are more on the 'vintage' side of overdrive the SA V3 is a modern drive. ala Soldano Rectifier
Wow, I want one.
Also do you prefer the boss delay to the strymon?
jazzcam998 he did chose it for the new pedalboard, that probably says enough
Bruno Čavara he's always trying different pedals though. :/
Not seen a three 12AX7 pedal before? This one has been out a few years and is allegedly used by a certain Mr D Gilmour www.effectrode.com/blackbird-vacuum-tube-preamp/
I have a soft spot for Effectrode - they're thermionic mad - probably have thermionic cars.
Gilmour the last few years has been a Kingsley junkie. The problem with effectrode devices is they sound like fat fuzz boxes You can get some variation but it;s still the same pony.
Hmm, the Mesa Vtwin pedal they quit making?
nfijef I remember that thing, this doesn’t sound like that. And it has one more tube :)
Yeah, that's why i put the question mark in. Seems similar, but I don't think Ive ever heard one in person. Though I always wonder why they quit making products that people seem to love. I think I'm getting Kingsley next purchase:)
Sounds very foo fightery @ 8:48
There's that Joe Walsh bend again!
👏👏👏👏👏
I would bet there is a 5150 preamp in the box
Imagine being the two people who have nothing better to do but hate on a nice guy like Pete. #FuckThemHaters
I think it is time to invest in a good comfortable chair!
Takes an Aussie... \m/
I hate it, when I can't find a price for a product...
I still prefer the Pettyjohn overdrive.
Hey did you guys hear the news? Seems that Taylor Swift is the new Eddie Van Halen according to guitar world. I have no idea why I stopped reading that magazine twenty years ago. Sorry Pete, but you are just no Taylor Swift on guitar bro. Keep practicing!
look like not cheap
High voltage marketing, its only 12V. Sounds nice though
Come on Grand, 12v is indeed higher than 9v. ;)
Jason Bone Yeah and you can run a whole town on 18V
It runs on a 12 volt supply, that doesn't mean that the voltage doesn't get stepped up inside the pedal. Although if it did get stepped up, you'd think they would say so. The fact that they aren't giving the actual plate voltage in the specs is a little suspect. I wouldn't exactly call 12 volts "high voltage".
Just read the owners manual, it appears that the voltage does get stepped up internally. It doesn't list the exact voltage but does say that internal voltage is potentially lethal.
It's 3 higher (NIgel Tufnel dixit) :D
sounds aweful
