I take on the challenge of Yuji's Diet from Jujutsu Kaisen for 7 Days.
Big, big thank you to all of my new found friends at U.S. World Class Taekwondo Tualatin. I couldn't have done this without you and I hope that this video inspires some of you to try something new. A Martial art, a new dish, a new experience.
Yuji is tenacious and continues to push to be his best self while helping people. I think we can all do a bit of that more and more each day.

nice
!!!
I love how he started this by saying "I'm gonna eat and train like Yuji who eats everything he loves", eats everything Yuji would and gets almost unmotivated then decides to eat what HE loves and feels so good about it. It's almost full circle :)
This is the way.
i had to read this four times to understand, cool comment.

It is worth explaining that green onion is not a vegetable, it is an aromatic. Which is why you treat it different than the vegetable accompaniments. Amateur chefs may not know why you add the aromatics in the last minute of cook time.
I know smell has a lot to do with taste, and aromatic is usually used to describe good smelling things, so are aromatic garnishes(?) used as kind of a last minute brain hack to enhance the flavor of a dish through that method?
It’s kind of a root aswell
@jaredwylie5681 sort of? It's more so that aromatics can get muddied if they're combined with other ingredients, so they need to be integrated a bit differently. Variety adds complexity to dishes, which tends to make them more interesting to our brains. In the case of green onions, they also tend to add a textural element along with a distinct flavor
To add onto this: aromatics also tend to brown/burn a lot easier, so in recipes where you cook the green onions, they're likely to be burnt by the time the rest of your vegetables are done. On a related note, this is also why recipes tend to cook garlic last
@@Directionless.Sponge Me: cooks garlic first out of preference for the burnt taste. 😅
You did great I just think you shouldn't compare yourself "a newbie" to someone with 9 YEARS of experience. Great job going out there and learning something new!
Not to mention a black belter
@@axelorsal9583and someone aiming to be an olympian!
this is like 7 episodes in one oh my god what a blessing.
I've practiced taekwondo for years as well and honestly it's great to see you working on it. We weren't competitive/sports style like this group, but it's always great to see the martial art that made me passionate about them being practiced
Congrats on earning your white belt Paul! But as you know, a student never stops learning! Gotta train hard and earn your belts! Going once or twice every couple of weeks is great fun and exercise to break up stagnation. Do your best and thanks for showing us all you do!

these anime videos are actually great for my mental health! i’ve been recovering from an ed that i’ve had for years and watching videos like this that show food in a positive light and in an entertaining way, so thank you for this ❤
I think this is one of my favorite videos. Well done! martial arts can be very daunting and sparring even more so. I think through out the video you really capture well what it would feel like for any beginner starting pretty much anything, you work hard and still get kicked in the face. However, I think that's exactly how we grow as people. Amazing video! Please keep doing your best! This video really is a testament to your work ethic and warrior spirit. Thank you for being an inspiration.
He’s the real 🗿
I love putting kimchi in my home made ramen. Adds a nice vegetable crunch as well as a sour element that brightens the whole dish
I love this video. The storytelling, the cuts between food and training, all the explanations, the kicks in the head, and the wholesome pizza party end.
Also the meals seems easy enough, quick and nutrisius. Want to try them.
The leg raising penalty came around 7 years ago. I remember doing Taekwondo around that time heard about a couple new rules and raising your leg without kicking was one of them
Also just wanted to give you major props for this long-form video. I know it took a LOT of work to prep, film, and edit to its current version and it was incredibly well done. The pacing was just right and was enjoyable to hear your experiences from top to bottom. The post-workout would-rather-take-a-nap-than-eat feeling is so relatable, just like needing a treat to decompress and get you through the rough days. Thank you and Rachel and the taekwondo school for sharing this with us. ❤
This was so fun to watch. I love that you trained with our studio. Master DJ is awesome with all of our kids. Great job Chef PK! Taekwondo training isn't easy.
Thank you for having me, seriously it was my pleasure
Thanks for this one man ! Really enjoy what you do 💪
My man's went and found his own Todo to spar against
I'm so glad you took my advice from the Ichigo training video with the Epsom salt bath
I really admire how much effort you keep puting in your videos. it´s amazing to watch. Thanks for the inspiration!
That was a wild ride! That was great seeing all this come into play, and the dedication involved. Congrats man, you earned the belt at the end.
Amazing video. I love that you really embrace being the character for the whole week, this one and all of the other vids in this series.
Loving this video Chef! I've been a long time lurker coming from the days you did anime watch alongs so it's awesome to see you grow and doing this intense longer form video. Just like how you got started you came in with a plan to follow Yuji's Diet but when the training kicked you in the head you took a step away from that and did the things that brought you joy to give you energy so you can power through the rest of the week. Congratulations on getting your white belt and for getting through such a gruelling week. Even whilst you were training, prepping and getting beaten up you were still recording keeping in mind about how you wanted your video to look like the entire time adding another layer of stress. You really pushed yourself to the limit here mentally and physically. Excellent work and good job! You're amazing. You even managed to tie it back to Jujutsu Kaisen somehow finding time in your busy week to get together the mochi and truly cherishing the brilliant community that you've found yourself in.
Thank you Chef! I'm wishing you the best of luck in your future endeavors.
This has quickly become my favorite video of yours! So much time, effort, and dedication. It really makes me want to get moving again... and to also make those meatballs! Keep up the great work, Chef!
This was one of your most awesome videos! So much work between the cooking, the training, the sparring, and even the eating despite exhaustion. You're getting into the best shape of your life, I bet!
Did anyone else start to cry when he said food is so much better with your friends? Basically, the entire ending😭😭 I'm not usually emotional like this, but I started to cry
The feels were real
This channel started off as an anime rain reaction, that went to cooking channel and now a fitness channel. Love it
Now it's cooking with a purpose!

I’ve probably said this before, but you are hands down my hero and role model. I’m so grateful for you and all the inspiration and encouragement you’ve give me throughout the years. Love you and all that you do. Thanks you for everything
I love these videos you do so much You actually worked so hard and you don't need to put all that effort but seeing you work so hard is really inspiring and the end is so wholesome too
My advice for martial arts training is to do things with an empty head. Though I will admit this is easier said than done. As Bruce Lee said: "Don't think. Feel."
This made learning techniques MUCH easier. Also, it's best to perform what you CAN do, so that you don't end up hurting yourself trying to do what others are able to do.
Thats where the muscle memory comes in. You practice the move over and over to counter certain attacks so when you receive the attack you dont think, you just react. That spinning back kick was always a favorite of mine whenever someone charged at me. I would even throw my hands up over my face like I was panicking before spinning and shooting out my foot.
keep up the content. i love watching these long progression videos. love your content chef
Hello chef love your videos and you have taught me to play with my food in so many different ways keep it up
I love this video and I like how you are determined to do these things no matter how hard they are I. Turning my notifications on so I don't miss the next video

Could you and would you consider a Spider-Man related vid in the future?
I love egg sandwiches too, but you is on a whole 'nother level of making them. Like dang, you don't got to be extra about it! (this is a joke😁)
could you do a series like this and show your progression on getting the next belt and so on. Love your vids ;]

Feeling motivated.
Video was so entertaining I didn't even realize it was over an hour long
I had a chili incident before...😂
Same. Twice. Once with eyes, another with my whole hands.
Idk if I'd do all this training, probly just my normal gym routine. But killer idea for meals next week. Been into Tower of God recently, I'd love to see Bam's diet.
I can’t wait to see how crazy strong you get after who knows how many of these videos you make
Please do Yujiro hanmas diet
If u do then RIP U Man
Or if not yujiro then jack or Baki but be warned Jack's workout can kill u I MEAN IT
Hey, when you try to do a split you have to have only heels on the ground if you dont you risk of hurting your knees,
also try to stiffen up leg mussles for a few secounds and then relese and again that is the most sucsessfull way of learning a split
Only real men enjoy bath with bubbles. And Chef, you are winning it.
As someone who did karate for like six or seven years, the kicking is very similar and its also really cool to see a styl;e of martial arts thats only kicks
Finally I found the greatest UA-camr

Curry meatballs? Oh heck yeah I'm trying that.
