Hai! CheckPK-San is a remarkable person, with strong dedication to his craft and audience. He is humble, respectful, passionate, and very hard working. I only wish he could join our kendo club and continue his amazing progress. Thank you, CheckPK; it was a total pleasure.
I've done martial arts for 20+ years. I was super impressed with how much you honestly dedicated yourself. You worked through your pain. You worked through the monotony (martial arts are super cool.... they are also super repetitive). And you worked through the idea that only you were holding yourself accountable. All the while making amazing looking food. This was super inspiring. Thank you for caring about this. It was really a treat to see this through your eyes.
you know, it fascinates me how few people don't work through pain, but thats mostly my point of view where i had to grow up working through pain (dysgraphia sucks) i wonder how common it actually is for people to work through pain, especially now
If this doesn't become your most viewed video I will be very sad, this is probably the best single piece of content you have put out this year, keep up the great work
I think this video was a really good coming from a cooking channel. Sometimes you don't have the energy to go all out. Sometimes you can't stand in the kitchen and cook a full meal. And sometimes you just rely on your ingenuity and whatever's in your fridge. ON TOP OF multiple workouts everyday. It's honestly extremely inspiring
Genuinely I kinda wanna see a continuation of this with him going more and more in depth with Tilt Sensei and going farther into kendo cause he seemed to really enjoy it
This is amazing. It was so fun seeing sensei genuinely exited about your progress and dedication. And the part about forcing yourself to eat because you have to actually got me a bit emotional, I often watch your cooking videos while eating so that it would distract me from what I am actually eating
The entire test session I was just hearing "Ichigo's Number One" theme. Sensei looked so happy hearing about your efforts! You truly are an inspiration, chef!
Mad respect to the dedication you put into this video. Not only did you go above and beyond with the training, you stuck with it until the end. I didn't even realize that it was almost 40 minutes I was so immersed.
Love how Tilt Sensei repaid your respect for the art by letting you wear the hakama. Good job all round. Nice work! Also love that you showed us both sides of the coin- the initial zeal and the exhaustion, makes me feel less alone in my own workout journey and nice to know that shit's normal and not just my depression ruining everything ha ha
you just never stop one-upping yourself. you get more and more impressive with every video and you're putting in so much work. very commendable. this reminded me of the time i did the OPM challenge for 30 days for no reason, other than to prove to myself that i have the discipline to achieve what i want. i remember how difficult it was. how i told myself i couldn't take it anymore by day 8 and would have rather died than to push on through. how the soreness turned into pain, which turned into sharp aches, which turned into numbness and by day 25, an inability to even contract my muscles. the way my feet felt like they were bleeding, my stomach would convulse randomly when eating, and how despite all the exhaustion and fatigue i could not sleep due to the pain. i used so many memories and got burnt out on so many anime songs and so many motivational videos to get through it all. to this day, the roughest 30 days of my life. the funny thing is, i weighed the same exact amount on day 30 as i did on day 1 (but got a lot leaner. definitely injured myself badly and got set behind on my fitness journey, but it was a strengthening of the mind much more than a strengthening of the body). i deeply wish i had recorded myself and written down everything i went through back then, even though i don't have an audience to share it with. perhaps, just to keep it as a memory that i can look back to. kudos to you for pushing through, one day at a time, and making it out alive despite all the pain... those moments, when we bite down on agony and put the next foot forward... those are the moments we remember with ardor when facing difficult times - "that was so much harder. i lived through that, i can live through this."
This is next level. I love the training and the food but the fact that it is for 7 days; so awesome! I know it’s more work for but it was totally worth it in my mind! Keep doing what you do, Chef.
As a HEMA student for a year I can relate to this so much. The repetition and practice in footwork and swings is exhausting and there are days after practice I am completely gassed but it is so much fun and gratifying to learn these martial arts. I only really practice two times a week, but I do try to throw in footwork and swinging practice at home when I can, so I cannot imagine the physical and mental strain doing that kind of intense workout daily could have. I am no where near the shape that you are in physically and I know my diet in general is garbage, despite all of that though, I feel stronger for being active and my instructor is noticing my improvement, which always feels amazing to have my progress acknowledged.
The best part of this, i think, was seeing sensei's smile as you described your incremental boost each day. I can just imagine him thinking "Damn, this guy is amazing." It might have been a little thing, for only a few seconds, but as a former teacher, few things are as joy-inducing as a student going for the gold.
Watching this was really emotional. Just watching you go through such a rough training and even having the energy to cook your meals is incredible. If I were in your shoes and on that 7th day hearing those words from Tilt Sensei saying "That's awesome" I would have broken into tears, because just watching you and how proud I was of you efforts made me want to cry.
Thank you, Paul. You gave me inspiration years ago to explore cooking like I never had, and today you inspire me to face challenges I often feel are too much for me to overcome.
Watching you practice kendo brings back memories of my kendo lessons at university in Japan. We did our cardio a bit differently though; instead of that back-and-forth motion you did, we did laps around a gym using the footwork motion you learned, except we had to also do the foot slamming motion with our front foot each time. So in addition to being exhausted afterwards the balls of our feet were destroyed, lol. We also had to do it all in full gear; it was brutal.
THAT is what I call dedication. And tbh, I dropped some tears after that message, it's one of those issues I struggle with personally, so hearing that really cracked me up. 👉🏼👈🏼
I really liked the message towards the end of the video about the it's alright to do this and that and I genuinely think that is super good to include that when your doing these workouts and when people are working out. So happy sensei was proud of you about your progress! (Also the benie with the gold horns looks so cool!!)
Man this video was awesome. Seeing all the work and effort you put in, even during the harder days... congratulations! That "The biggest gift is actually being a good student, thats the hardest thing to find. So you've already given me a wonderful gift" your teacher said at the end, such a great and heartwhelmimg way to end the video :") PD: now that you have your Zanpakutō (the Shinai), you gotta give it a name!
After being out all day, was finally able to watch. Really enjoyed this one! As I kept watching, it felt inspirational and seeing the final result on day 7 got me motivated (in different ways). I did take notes throughout the video (yes, I'm weird like that). 5:35 - "i feel so out of shape", yea, I'd be worse xD 7:00 god of why? 10:31 food podcast? oooh (subscribed by the way!) 11:53 - already a detour with them donuts 16:20 halfway awake, i dont know how you managed 17:35 - with extra char, does that affect taste in a way by chance? 18:50 - haikyuu YES! 27:20 that's a sandwich....but damn what was the hardest part in all of this for you? i also enjoyed the mini house tour of sorts :D
I'm so glad you gave Kendo a try, this video may really inspire some people into trying it and finding out how much fun it can be, especially once they get to sparring practice! As for your final message, I remember how much I didn't feel like showing up to Kendo practice one day, until I watched an episode of JoJo Battle Tendency, that inspired me into giving it my all, so I showed up to the session. Really happy that I did and I don't think I've skipped on a session for being lazy/unmotivated since, but I do make sure to often watch/read some inspirational stuff nowadays.
Kendo can be such great cardio! When I overdid it, I tended to tear open the skin on my hands, especially when training without kote (the gloves). But your observation of getting tired muscles quickly, even though the shinai isn't heavy, is really common among beginners. People usually don't expect to get sore muscles so quickly.
Chefu-Senpai your dedication has moved me…..I have a fire in my belly to finally bring my ideas to fruition. Thank you for this I can honestly say the world is a better place because you are in it. Take care bro ✌🏻❤️☯️
Hey CHEFPK, major props on this. I love bleach. I've been watching a lot of your vids and your cooking makes me hungry. Keep up the delicious work man. And like you always say; "keep playing with your food."
I already had a lot of respect for you Paul with your drive and determination for all things food, but this video says a lot about you not only as a content creator/chef but as a person. You can see how you started to slow down from overworking but you adjusted and kept getting up to attack the day. It’s honestly motivating Paul as always my friend keep up the great work. ❤❤
You've come so far since your days of teaching me about the food I was seeing in Food Wars (still miss those reactions), to inspiring me to prepare some of these meals and branch out. I can't do these high intensity cardio workouts due to a heart condition, but it's your dedication to the whole process of video production, workouts, cooking (even with Chef Mic), that makes me realize even on the darkest days I can still do something. Arigato Gozaimasu Chef Paul Sensei. I will definitely keep playing with my food.
I just wanna say I'm really proud of you. It was very tough. I've been going through some tough times myself and it's bleeding over into every aspect of my life. I'm pushing through hoping to make it out but yeah I definitely know how you feel like you did on day 8.
Gotta say all the food looked great and I'm super proud of you for doing that hellish training and sticking to it till the end cause it looked brutal. You would make Ichigo proud for sure just like you did with Tilt Sensei.
watching you touch the marital way was so heartwarming ♥ i love that you discovered this for yourself and that you got to the mentality of kendo as well. you've become even more my favorite youtuber and role model, i hope you continue to walk the path
It was inspiring, heartwarming and fun to watch. And to see that you struggled throughout the training and talked about it makes me wanna try that too ... looks very hard... not gonna lie
Chronologically chigo would be 17 or 18 by thousand war blood ark, but due to the daigma training he went through to unlock final getsugo tensho to beat Aizen he aged another 3 and a half years, putting him at an actual physical age of 20 to 21. It also stated he had grown so the height ratio would be closer to blood war than prior. I don't know if that makes a difference in the calculations but figured I would point it out. I love these recipes!
This is your greatest video ever it made my heart swell, and it just made me realize what you were going through. Man, if I could, I'd give this video 7 stars. I'd say that if anyone is down on their luck, they need to watch this video of yours and realize the motivation, determination, and scope of it as a hole.
I loved watching you discover yourself in this one. I found myself very much zoned out enjoying this episode. Also, loved how nice your sensie is, I wish i could learn from him!
Seeing the joy in your teacher's expression when you informed him of everything you had been doing. And hearing the praise in his tone was amazing. He was obviously very happy with your progress and dedication. Hopefully you still find time to go and train with your teacher from time to time, i'm sure it would make him happy and you seemed to enjoy being around him and learning from him as well ^_^ just a thought from a person looking in from outside the situation.
This was an amazing half hour. Although I will say given the heaviness of your meals, especially the beef one, I’m not surprised the exercise and cardio felt bad regardless of being gassed. (Thanks for the new vocab btw) Ate a small portion of lasagna before boxing training and wanted to throw up the entire time, haven’t eaten anything over a pb&j before workout since. That “off” feeling is horrible, I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.
I like that you’re wearing all of my favorite Cloak pieces!! Also: you’re amazing!! You always put in the work and show everyone that it’s okay to have off days and also really good days. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication. 💜
bro after watching this whole journey you have inspired me to never stop pushing in anything I do even when things get to their worse because like you said it makes the good days even better my dreams shall become a reality keep on keeping on my friend
Watching your videos honestly makes me feel pumped even on the darkest days i just know that i can finally start the road to getting better even if its long and rough. I finally made something that isnt ramen tonight. Thank you!
This one was really great! I enjoyed watching and learning about kendo- you did an awesome job and really impressed your teacher. It sounded like he wasn't expecting you to increment things by 1 minute/30 seconds each day. Oh- and that miso salmon- I'm definitely trying that! I love baking salmon with my own sweet apricot garlic soy dressing, and I just ordered some shiro miso. Thanks for the tips!
watching this, I am reminded of when genryusai was teaching kenpachi kendo and told him his swings were always going to be more powerful with 2 handed sword holding than one, cant remember when it was in the series tho, but it was a good moment. super cool how you are bringing bleach and kendo together like this! heh. also i think i remember it was in the bleach live action ichigo was learning kendo from rukia :D
Man you knocked it out of the stratosphere with this one! More than just the awesome food, there were a lot of good lessons in this one. Think you'll keep going with Kendo after this? I didn't expect it to be that physically intensive haha.
New viewer here. I was expecting a very average cooking video with some Bleach thrown in for good measure. I didn't think I was going to be glued to the screen and enjoying every second. Thank you for making this. Looking forward to the next one. Ill start going through some of your older videos
So so proud of you son, you still got your love for karate and more as you started 5 years old , this is very inspirational to others, keep up the good work God bless 🙏🏻💖😘
I came for Ichigo, and stayed for the challenge you've put yourself into. Very interesting dishes and drinks, I'll have to try them out myself. Also, you truly did prove that with time, dedication, and effort people can accomplished a lot. Very much like Ichigo, along with making time for those he cares about 19:25. P.S. Going into the this video, I couldn't help but think back to Ichigo saying that having okonomiyaki and rice for dinner is very carb heavy in the 79th Illustrated guide to soul reapers end credits. So he actually does have his own diet that he prepares for himself.
I think you can try doing the meditation as your last piece for training and whatnot. But chef, kudos to your perseverance and patience. What a discipline to have. I admire you a lot, chef Paul. I hope to see you recover well and more trainings to come!!
Absolutely LOVE this vid my dude! I can FEEL that exhaustion you went through, and my God I saw how dead you were with eating (I was getting concerned at that point)
Ah man, you're a freaking inspiration! As someone who loves food (eating and cooking lol), fitness, martial arts, and anime, I can't imagine a better crossover video 👏🏻👏🏻 also, the lofi Zelda music at the end was perfect 😄👌🏻
Honestly though, I definitely feel your struggle with this video, I've been working a new job, and it's a lot of long hours and a lot of physical labour with each shift, and I'm exhausted after every shift and I end up eating like 4 times a day on work days. It's hard, and my body aches a lot, but I'm slowly getting stronger and yeah, part of me getting stronger is just because I'm eating more now. And sometimes you're just eating to eat because you're exhausted and you just don't have the energy to do more than what you are doing, and that's ok. We can only grow and improve if we keep going!
Love the dedication you put into making this video, I am a massive fan of bleach so this was so cool and interesting to watch. Definitely my new favorite video of yours. From: your new sub

This was awesome man ! Top 5 chefpk video for me. Really appreciate the work that goes into all your videos. Thanks for keeping me inspired 💪
Wow that's an awesome idea for a video format. It must have taken a huge amount of work but I would love to see more stuff like thia
You got it :)
This video went from a chill and relax video to a motivational one
Wow I really loved all the kendo and you can feel how passionate sensei is by how happy he was you put the work in.
Wow what a beautiful day. I loved Day 5’s motivational speech.
Just wanted to show some support for the new style of content lately. Love that you've added fitness routines to the diet routines. Very good content.
Having done kendo for ~10years by now, this video is really special to me :D
I LOVE CAFE 85°C!!! So great to see the mall too! Try to stay warm with the weather. Great video!
Ichigos diet is leftover bread from Orihimes workplace.
Right. I got the fresh stuff this time though
Thank you!
I'm very glad I can be a part of your journey
YOU SIR ARE AN INSPIRATION!
You've inspired me to work out again.
Great video!! So fun to watch great dedication. 👍
This is an amazing video. Thank you for your hard work, all these amazing videos and the nice messages you convey
Have a great day
watching this, I am reminded of when genryusai was teaching kenpachi kendo and told him his swings were always going to be more powerful with 2 handed sword holding than one, cant remember when it was in the series tho, but it was a good moment. super cool how you are bringing bleach and kendo together like this! heh. also i think i remember it was in the bleach live action ichigo was learning kendo from rukia :D
Can't believe it took me till last week to learn about your channel, your stuff is excellent.
i had seen this video a while back but I never clicked on it but this is the second video of something like this I've watched today and I love it!
he went beyond the average cooks he is training and making food
and he reads every comment
Man you knocked it out of the stratosphere with this one! More than just the awesome food, there were a lot of good lessons in this one. Think you'll keep going with Kendo after this? I didn't expect it to be that physically intensive haha.
1:12 Your arms are huge now! Great job on your training regimen!
That was an outstanding video.
It is so hard learning a new skill from scratch and you smashed it.
Also the food looked amazing as always.
Your speech literally made me cry and I admire your strength to get through the week wow
New viewer here. I was expecting a very average cooking video with some Bleach thrown in for good measure.
I didn't think I was going to be glued to the screen and enjoying every second. Thank you for making this. Looking forward to the next one. Ill start going through some of your older videos
You know? I actually practice Kendo, its really tough, but i love it. And you did so good in every training!!! Its way harder than it seems
hey chef, this video was so good. super entertaining and downright inspiring. would definitely love to see more of this type of content!
So so proud of you son, you still got your love for karate and more as you started 5 years old , this is very inspirational to others, keep up the good work God bless 🙏🏻💖😘
I don't know how you can work in a kitchen and still pump out these videos.
when I worked in a kitchen I didn't feel like doing anything.
I actually do UA-cam full time now :)
@@CHEFPKR oh ok good deal 👌
This video was a bit of an emotional roller coaster and I really liked it :) I'm really glad you could experience this
Omg you and sensei are so wholesome!
Absolutely LOVE this vid my dude! I can FEEL that exhaustion you went through, and my God I saw how dead you were with eating (I was getting concerned at that point)
Ah man, you're a freaking inspiration! As someone who loves food (eating and cooking lol), fitness, martial arts, and anime, I can't imagine a better crossover video 👏🏻👏🏻 also, the lofi Zelda music at the end was perfect 😄👌🏻
impressive. Your dedication is admirable.
nice training arc btw chef
DUDE. Way to go! You really killed it!
Thank you
That's one of the most beautiful videos I have ever seen!
You make cooking food fun for me, thank you. I really do enjoy that the videos are themed to anime characters.
PK: *dying from kendo training*
PK: Now… time to *cook*
[Anime intro music starts playing]
one if your greatest videos! hope you still going to practice kendo and being the most excellent friend, sensei chris told you, you could be ;)
Amazing Video
Keep that energy my guy❤
The whole training arc was so fun to watch! Gotta watch the new Bleach series soon! Great video as always :)
