  • All this time I’ve been asking the wrong question. I believe this is the only question that needs to be answered.
    I’ve asked some friends of mine to participate in an experiment and a discussion.
    I want you to consider the question as well.

    As a child I remember my dad cleaning his gun after a hunting trip. He had it in as many pieces as you can take take it apart. I picked up the double barrel and pointed at him saying ''peek-a-boo'. I will never forget what happened next. He gently took the barrel out of my hand, looked me in the eye, and in that low quite voice that dads have, said "you never, ever point a gun at anyone". I retorted with, ''but it's just the barrel, it's taken apart, there's no bullets''. He again looked me in the eye and again said 'you NEVER, EVER point a gun at anyone". That was over 50 years ago, he has been gone for almost 20, but I can still hear his voice.

      Guilt is a feeling that occurs when you think you have done something wrong. Admitting that you fill guilty is an admission that you've done something wrong. If it happened as he said, he should not feel guilt. He should feel grief and empathy. Grief and empathy are different. The fact that he pretended to not know what happened shows that he does not feel empathy. That all being said, it is my opinion that Alec is criminally responsible for the death and injury. The chance that it happened the way he said is virtually impossible unless the firearm was malfunctioning. There is no indication of that here. So many of these replies have the same premise "I shoot all the time, and I would have known". Well good for you, Baldwin is pretty clear, he doesn't like guns. You probably shot more last week, than he did in the last decade. How many shooters put a hot round through a squib? Why don't they notice the lack of report or recoil and end up shooting through an obstructed barrel? These are gun owners who shoot enough to reload ammo, but they don't notice. Flip side, when Kentucky Ballistics blew his ass up, every round fired was too hot, but he didn't notice, until his rifle blew up like a hand grenade. Let the investigators do their jobs, you all can pile on him once you know what really happened, at this point you are all speculating, and holding him to your standards and experience. And no, I am not defending him, I am defending the PROCESS. Without process, Rittenhouse would be serving multiple life terms, but look what happens when you let investigators do their jobs.

      It's not that scary. But it is scary. It's enough to make you stop shooting until you know why it went off and has been fixed or corrected. Fortunately it was a single shot bolt action rifle. The safety is automatically engaged when the bolt is fully opened to eject or load. Upon closing the bolt the rifle discharged into the ground a short distance from my foot. That ended my target shooting for the day. I have never been so glad that I kept the weapon pointed in a safe direction. But it didn't scare me to death. I was honestly more scared during a tornado. I was more shocked when I thought my wife was pregnant again. I guess I was taught to expect a firearm to fail...just to be safe. Don't drop it. Don't manhandle it. Don't joke with it. It can go off unexpectedly due to mechanical failure, dirt, or carelessness.

    Here is my big conundrum. In his "unscripted" interview he says that to his recollection she was conscious after the gun went off. If he was standing over her for 60 seconds as he stated, and if she was in fact conscious, then how in the HELL did he NOT know she was shot? Much less the guy behind her as he was screaming like crazy. His words, not mine. He's either a complete ignorant fool or he's lying his ass off. I opt for the latter of the 2. Dumb like a fox they used to say. Oh, and wasn't there blood anywhere???? That might have been a big indicator that something went wrong. I do not understand his lack of guilt or even the slightest amount of sorrow on his part.

What's happened to the narrative that was told when this first happened: That the person (The A.D.) that handed the gun to Baldwin, knew that there was something in the gun, wasn't sure if they were dummy rounds, blanks, or live rounds, only checked on the first round, handed the gun to Baldwin and declared it "cold". And after Hutchins was shot said, "I should have checked all the rounds.". Doesn't "cold" mean "empty gun", and "hot" means "loaded with blanks"? Also, why were they setting up a shot with anything in the gun?(unless it was to show the cylinder had rounds in it). There are just way to many questions to answer...

When someone is inclined to play nasty pranks on other people they ALWAYS want to see the reaction or have someone helping them who will then either video it or describe it to them in detail. If he did it just to be doing it without seeing if his prank played out what would be the point? However, the next question goes right back to the initial question in this video, which is if he never pulled the trigger as he claims why was he NOT SURPRISED at that loud report and why would he then just walk away without finding out what had happened no matter what kind of load he thought was in the gun, especially if the director fainted.. My 2 cent take is that he loaded the gun, unbeknownst to the armorer. He got the bullets and mistakenly placed live bullets in with blank bullets. The armorer and the assistant did not check the gun before the rehearsal. They never checked the guns before a rehearsal. He let the hammer go because he wanted to do a prank. His finger was on the trigger when the gun was pulled. He expected the gun to fire with a blank. If he did not scream at once, then he knew the gun would fire. If he screamed, cussed, and yelled anything, then he did not know the gun would fire. Common public sense, a friend would never leave their friend after they fainted or passed out.

The officer would receive the weapon and load it at the police station. • @SaltyNationalist
      @SaltyNationalist 2 роки тому +13

      A blank will go bang...
      A dummy round just goes click...
      A blank has gun powder and wax, therefore it goes bang...
      A dummy round has lead in the shell, but no gun powder and the primer has already been struck.. Therefore cannot refire...
      Dummy rounds are made to look real, however they are not real..
      You're welcome. 😁

    • @WW5RM
      @WW5RM 2 роки тому +17

      They discuss all of that. A blank isn't as loud. But still dangerous! A dummy round is a hollow case. It will not fire. The primer will have a dent in it.
      On the back, opposite end of the bullet, where the firing pin strikes is a circle in the very center. That's the primer. It ignites the powder. If it doesn't have a dent, it most likely is a live round!
      Like many have said. Treat all firearms as if they are loaded and never point them at anyone! That's the first thing everyone is taught! Or supposed to be! So on a movie set with firearms involved their can't be enough firearm safety and checks! How this happened is beyond my comprehension! Unless there is foul play! No one can be that careless!
      Everyone on that set who handled any firearm needs to be thrown in jail!
      Kyle Rittenhouse spent two months in jail and was simply defending himself! Only way he got out was through donations to raise money for bail! So why is Alec walking around free? Plus how does he sleep at night?

    • @duxdawg
      @duxdawg 2 роки тому +13

      Sort answer: No.
      Three types of ammunition we're talking about here:
      Dummy rounds look just like a live round, but are completely inert.
      No primer, no powder, means they cannot go boom no matter what you do.
      All you'll hear is a soft "click" as the hammer drops.
      Much less noise and recoil with blanks than live rounds.
      Blanks are more of a "pop", while live rounds are a "boom".
      Vastly more recoil with live rounds than blanks.
      The noise and recoil are completely unmistakable to the shooter and witnesses.
      (I have fired hundreds of each in dozens of types of firearms.)
      Bottom line is:
      It is ALWAYS **YOUR** responsibility - and YOURS ALONE - to safe and clear EVERY firearm, EVERY time you pick it up. No exceptions. Period.

    Here's the thing about that...if he expected the gun to go "boom" and I believe that he did, then when the camera woman went down instead of just being scared, why didn't he immediately go to her? Even if his intention was to scare her, her reaction to actually being shot with a large .45 Colt bullet, would have been serious enough to warrant immediate concern from Alec Baldwin. From his story he didn't react that way. Even if he thought she had fainted or had a heart attack why did he not immediately go to her to help or comfort her instead of just standing there looking at her? That would be a normal human reaction. What kind of a monster to you have to be to shrug that off and not bother to render aid or comfort to someone, especially since he was the person responsible for causing it? The more I learn about what happened the more I begin to believe that Alec Baldwin purposely fired the gun at her and is a psychopath or sociopath.

      One thing that bugs me, ,,, well, apart from everything else is alec's shirt. let me explain why: this is a low budget movie and time is of the essence. they were setting up angles, blah blah blah, and I heard someone say she was also checking for continuity. to me this meant that the actors are in their costumes, etc, and since time is important the more reason for them not to stop and go change to their costumes. yet, all the pictures we've seen of baldwin outside the church has him in a t-shirt. so he was all worried and lost about what had happened, but he had the presence of mind to change into a t-shirt? this probably doesn't mean much, but I can't help but wonder about it

Or words to that effect. I think we also had to explain that this was also international law. This was drummed into every recruit and during ongoing training and behaving safely became totally ingrained, and anyone breaching the safety rules could expect punishment and harsh words from his mates.

At that time a "cold gun" was completely unloaded, and a "hot gun" is loaded with either blanks or on very rare occasions specially made rounds that contained far less gun/black powder and wax squib projectiles containing fake blood. Either way, the gun doesn't recoil anything like a live .45 caliber round. In my experience if a live round were discovered within 100 yards of the set (except for police or security), massive volumes of excrement would contact the fan and the Armorer would be looking for a different production to work.
