He resigned before the incident. The concerns listed were listed before the incident. I understand the production company want to cover their a**, but claiming the first camera assistant has something to gain from this is just desperate and stupid. The man is clearly not comfortable talking publicly about this, and only stands to lose by doing so, and he's doing it anyway. He's not making any friends, but forgoing his anonymity and speaking out publicly lends weight to the claims that multiple crew members have made. Safety was obviously not up to snuff, and multiple people walked out prior to this tragedy happening.

Agreed! He’s speaking out not for recognition or publicity but Bekuz by not speaking out it would weigh heavily on his conscience. He sees the lies Alec is telling and is calling BS on the all those in charge! Unfortunately an innocent person was killed bkuz people were negligent trying to save money by cutting corners!!! There is a REASON why safety checks MUST be followed! ESPECIALLY when weapons are involved!!!

@@onewhoisaboveall it’s going to be very hard to know who is speaking the truth. My understanding is just that they wanted hotels. That is not unreasonable if you are working 12-14 hour days and you have to tack on 2 hours for travel. That is a recipe for car accidents during the commute or tired employees that might be more apt to make mistakes. It’s just all a mess and the public has no way to know the truth.

Getting with murder. These are poor excuses. if he waited 4 seconds and look at the gun too see if its loaded.(rule 1 of firearm safety: assume all firearms are loaded unless proven otherwise) He didn't had to reckless point that firearm at something he doesnt want to destroy (rule 2 and 3: do not place your finger around the trigger until you are ready to destroy what is in front of you. watch your barrel and where it's point at) three simple rules that every gun owner is has to follow here in the states that he recklessly broke. I dare not say it's cold murder. But he is just as much to blame as the person who loaded it. If this was a normal idiot here in the states. They would fry them up and charge them with probably every murder charge there is. But snice he is a actor he gets special treatment

They are lying when they say a camera assistant has no j owl edge of safety protocols. Obviously they are common knowledge and often posted on set and with his experience he has always had a birds eye view of the norm of safety protocols. They also said that he is exploiting this situation for his son gain. Actually it is a big risk he is taking and brave. It is hard to see what is to be gained personally by him from this. Everyone on set has something to do with safety protocols. It’s their lives on the line during explosions and gun fire scene. This kind of distortion of reality can help people understand how people can be confused about the rules. Also the assistant director is claiming he had no responsibility to check the guns. He is actually the one most responsible on set for safety protocols. The people having the gun pointed at them are supposed to witness the loading and that it is safe. It is a shame the safety bulletin doesn’t specify clearly that blanks are to be shaken to hear the bb and also guns are to be shot six times so the actor knows it is safe. Also I don’t know if it is specified that every time a gun changes hands it needs to be checked thoroughly, but for sure actors are human beings who have the right to be shown the gun is perfectly safe. Also the producers claim that having the crew work 12 hours a day means it’s no big deal to also have to drive two hours a day back and forth. This idea the set may have been sabotaged is so devastating!

Having been a Quality inspector in weapons environments I have lived by safety procedures, sign offs, certs, standards. Many accidents , in large and small companies are results of Safety issues, ignored procedures, lack of certified personnel...

I have been working in the film industry for 13 years and productions ONLY take safety for us seriously when a tragedy happens. We are overworked 12 to 15 hours a day making miracles happen to save more money for these productions to make millions for the actors that they have to pay and who we are expected to serve on bended knee.

I would like to say that a costume designer is usually very little on set and the camera assistant always is. i don't understand why her statement is taken as a counterpoint really

Yes $5000.00 budget for set ammunition according to The Hollywood Reporter. They need to break down how much and what was invoiced. 🗂 Who paid for this live ammunition? If included. This might be rifle and shotgun, handgun calibers too. Plus blanks, brass cases, accessories.

People keep repeating this one in a trillion thing, but when you shoot a loaded gun with a live ammo at someone, that's not one in a trillion. Nobody wants to answer why there were live ammo on the set.

Man the comments are rough on this guy coming forward, but the truth is you really can’t be too safe with all those people on set and real weapons, just ask the US Army about their training protocols.

Whay does the Army have to do with a film set? That makes zero sense to compare the 2.

@@time4me2fly94 oh really, I beg to differ with you. Because within what you just said is the basic difference in beliefs between republicans and Democrats.
The constitution gives us the right to bear arms. Republicans believe that to be on an individual basis while Democrats believe that is only intended for our military as a whole.
So To be clear there is no comparison. I believe it was intended by our founding fathers that the 2nd amendment is for the right of the individual, however so many are not well trained enough or have the funds to be that responsible gun owner.
This production company was not nor still responsible for having real weapons on set.
