Sleeperdude you should contact the guys that run the JAMSI online UA-cam channel to see if they could machine the engine for you. Would make for good content for them and nice collab for both of you.
Dead Dodge Garage (Jamie) and Tom at RocketRestorations are mopar experts, Jamie is actually in possession of a few early hemis and has videos on the differences between them and where to get parts (like hotheads) along with parts. He might be interested in those standard size pistons you have aswell! Hope this helps!
Loving this !! That Renault Dauphine is the perfect car for the trendy young artist. There is even a book available featuring a pink Dauphine from 1965. The Nightmare Rally, by Pierre Castex. Hi from New Zealand, and many blessings to your family.
I agree! This car is too complete to not think about restoring her. Now you would have to love it, 'cause it would take a lot of money and work, but for the right person, this would be a project for a lifetime, especially at a starting price of $1,500.
Roadster shop frame and an lt4 swap with 2 horsepower per cubic inch naturally aspirated they're getting over 700 horsepower in a Brian tooley racing they're working on a cat that's all built and done already all the computer and everything
also finished watching the video. Ross pistons will custom make pistons. herbert cams might make camshafts for dodges. Vintage speed parts can be sourced but can be hard to find
Came here to post the same thing built rhe 241 dodge red ram they are very helpful and can rebuild the rocker arms and have special custom bell housing available to manual ford or chevy Trans and water pump adapter with engine stands the 2 x 2 intake is the best the 3 x 2 is a little to much and the single 4 bl just doesn't look right on a coup 180 hp and the stock cam can be re ground to a mild performance cam . Sanders makes tube headers center dump . Not the world's fastest engine but the cool factor is off the charts.
You can not deny the stylish appeal of the Style Master. I could dig on that yellow 4 door coupe with the SBC too. I hope something cool ends up happening to the '55 Dodge, it's a cool and unique ride.
Backwards mullet!😂 Josh, you might try to get in touch with Nolan at Isky cams & tell him what you're building & what you plan on doing with the car. Many of the channels I watch use Isky cams exclusively for their projects & absolutely love all of his performance parts. Hope this helps & y'all are able to work together on this project. Thanks for the amazing content!!
That's a nice diverse collection of old vehicles. In the 60s [we're talking Christchurch, NZ] a bloke used to race a Renault Dauphine with a mid-mounted Chevy small block, and Mickey Thompson racing tyres, at our local track; It was super fast! I'm led to believe that car still exists, today.
What you get paid when starting out, has no relevance to the priceless knowledge and experience, you can get from a good old timer. That is priceless in my books and I've been privileged to learn from a few. For ever thankful with great respect.
Hemi heads came from the ford ardun heads desinged by Arcus Duntov for ford flatheads to give them more power. They were originally used on ford trucks used in high altitudes. I read an article a long time ago that a guy who rebuilt ardun heads, said the Chrysler hemi heads were so close, he used Chrysler valves and other parts to rebuild the Ardun heads. Ardun heads were around before Chrysler hemis.
You're an idiot sir. Hall Scott had hemi heads in the late 20s, as well as overhead cams and cross flow heads. Chrysler first used hemi heads in the late 30s on aircraft and tank engine designs for the war department.
there were quite a few hemis around before chryslers. the rolls royce merlin was a hemi, the benefits of the design were well known by manufacturers of all engines some early motorbikes used them as well
@Sleeperdude lost me sleeperdude. I can't believe you took down my honest and fair assessment of that young mans comments. I thought you were more honest. Unsubed. Pole barn here I come to buy merch.
EGGE machine and Kanter are pretty much the only two choices for early Hemi hard parts. (Make sure you’re sitting down when you see the price) Oregon camshaft and Delta cams can weld and regrind the original cam core.
Don Garlits had a team of mechanics that went around to junk yards buying HEMI engines. They had everything on their truck to hoist and remove them. This went on for years until the after market started to cast engines for him.
In the UK, the Renault Dauphine jingle on TV was "penny farthing a mile and you travel in style, the Renault Dauphine." A friend of mine was crossing Fenwick Moor in Scotland in his Dauphine when a wheel fell off and stranded him. They sold over a million in Europe.
Just for the memory banks, the standard crank bolt on Chrysler engines was 1- 1/4 inches on up into the early seventies. The crankcase vent was referred to as a "Road Draft Tube" . It pulled vapors out as fresh air entered the Oil fill "Breather Cap". Okay, just for Squeesy, "backwards mullet". As always, guys, Great video!
Corvair’s are underrated and done right with some wide rally’s it’s a great car might need a different engine in the back but even the stock ones done right are nice
Build a Cleveland for the Maverick. The only thing you’ll need to do is clearance the front shock towers some for header clearance or try factory exhaust manifolds and clearance for them.
We dropped a Cleveland in a Maverick with headers on it, just dropped the motor, trans in and ratchet strapped it down, did burnouts! The headers kept the motor in olace
That exact engine. But with manual trans: In 1969, my friend who owned a junkyard had a customer buy the engine for $30 ...He bet me a quarter that he could pull the engine in 10 minutes it I got in the pit and unbolted the trans. I unbolted the trans while being rained on with sparks, molten metal and burning rubber as he cut every every single thing that held the engine in. He won the bet but wouldn't take the quarter from me. We laughed a lot.
The Corvair station wagon we see in the opening is one of a little over 32K that were built in 1961-62 (only 6,078 in '62). There can't be too many left (especially the '62s) so you might consider getting it, unless it's too far gone....

I had a 1956 Chrysler Windsor that had a 331 himi Spitfire engine. It was a huge project though. had to sell it cause i just didn't have the funds to completely redo it. That car had been off the road since 1977. This video just reminds me of it
You should have bought some of the Courier interior parts for your friend Puddin. He's needing some inside door handles and some other things I think. Less than a mile from my house is one of these early Hemi's with zero street miles on it.
Im not the biggest fan of Mopar, but this is a beautiful car. If you ever need any parts or any info at all about this car, reach out to Jed Scott. He has a channel on here called "Scott's Speed Shop". He's a few years younger than us, only about 30, but Ive never seen anybody as knowledgeable about Mopar stuff as him. He has a 70 Charger, and his dad has a gorgeouw 68 Charger R/T that they restored a couple years back. I think it was a 383 car, but he built a 426 Hemi to put in it. Anyway, Jed has a ton of old, hard to find, rare Mopar parts. What he doesnt have, he knows somebody who will. Even if you dont need any parts, and just need information, he's like a walkin encyclopedia on Mopar. He mainly specializes in the late 60's-early 70's muscle cars, but I know he's built at least one "Red Ram" Hemi. He's a super nice young man too. Anyway, just wanted to give you a contact, if you ever need anything for this car, whether it be parts, or just info.
a hyabusa v8 would fit if you had the money for one and would get you much faster than that. any big bike engine fits in them , most have been tried . there used to be a couple with gsxr engines around my area owned by 2 brothers.
@@Sleeperdude Nice to see @robotcantina8957 here...!!! Here in Argentina, that was called a Renaut Dauphine, or later Renault Gordini, i think back then there have 4 cyl motors 850cc. very reliable cars and engines...

The engine stand race had me at the end of my seat! Lol . Engine parts are easy to find. Just gonna be expensive. Probably alot cheaper to get another but then you still might end up needing parts. Japanese car manufacturers actually rebadged American cars as a Japanese car too. For instance a Toyota Cavalier, a Chevy Cavalier with right hand drive.

Half of those cars in his yard I have owned similar! The Renault I could drive all week on a tank of gas. Yep, all week! I’ve had 2/32 5 window coups. 51 Chevy 2 Dr. My brother owned a red ram engine. It’s a beautiful engine!!!!! It ran great. I’ll keep commenting as I watch. I’m In love with old cars. My granny had a 51 Nash, best ridding car ever made until 1968 when my friend bought a Big Buick Le Sabre, 4 Dr. That was a beauty!!!!!!
My buddy had an RV with a 454. We tore the whole thing down to the frame. Just make piles of wood, aluminum, glass, wood, wiring, etc. You can scrap the piles easy.

I’ve used White performance in Kingsport Tennessee. They have a machine shop. They own right next-door. Did a really good work and timely fashion. I drive from east Kentucky to their look it up.
Squeezie was pretty involved in this one , I’m impressed. Hope you can get it bored out quicker than the Gremlin. That’s seems ridiculous that it would take that long. If they’re too busy then don’t be greedy just say you don’t have the time and recommend another machine shop. I really want to see you get that Econoline going. You tell EM Mom PB BLASTER !!! 😊
Yes!
Marge needs to be sponsored by PB blaster 😂
The bearings are a universal size, cheap and easy fix.
Another great Saturday with the Sleeperdude family!
Thank you
My buddy had an RV with a 454. We tore the whole thing down to the frame. Just make piles of wood, aluminum, glass, wood, wiring, etc. You can scrap the piles easy.
Backwards Mullett😅
Thank you
There used to be a few good machine shops around chattanooga but it's been a few years since I've had anything done
Yeah 👍
Lets do this! Sending a Saturday (well, pretty much) evening shout out from UK #SLEEPERDUDESATURDAYTIME
Thank you
That stuffing in the seats is the same material that is used in Wawa's VW. Except hers comes from German horses.😅❤ Tom in Idaho
Ok thanks
I’m not sure, but Squeeze sounded sarcastic about being excited.
Always a hint of sarcasm with her 🤣
Thank you all for the hard work you do to entertain us. You are a wonderful family, praying you all stay safe 🙏
You know it’s gonna be a good day when there’s a new sleeper dude video!

6:12 I'd sell the car to someone else to restore & use the $ to fix up the engine.
I remember back when the shop floor was new and Marge pitched one mortal fit if something got on it now she's pouring out sausage juice and throwing the lid in the floor, lol
The Renault (Pronounced Reeno) Dauphin, made in late 50s to mid 60s.🙂
Beep beep, Renault Dauphine!
👍
I like how Marge and squeeze where getting in on the fun
Thank you!!
I really think you should add a 2005 or so Dodge Magnum R/T . I think everyone in the whole family would dig it . Just a thought , I love mine .

When a man looks at his wife and says “ I think we gonna have to roll the dice on it “ & she says “ roll em baby “…. almost makes me want to get married again. Almost……watching a true American full functional loving family gives me hope that this country will survive. You a great influence on our young generation and hope it reaches them all so they can see how beautiful raising a family is! God bless
Buy the green F-100 ranger!
🤣👍
I’ve used White performance in Kingsport Tennessee. They have a machine shop. They own right next-door. Did a really good work and timely fashion. I drive from east Kentucky to their look it up.
i would take that hemi strait to a machine shop
Yeah I think so too
Squeezie was pretty involved in this one , I’m impressed. Hope you can get it bored out quicker than the Gremlin. That’s seems ridiculous that it would take that long. If they’re too busy then don’t be greedy just say you don’t have the time and recommend another machine shop. I really want to see you get that Econoline going. Thanks for entertaining us with your projects. The kids are so lucky having you two as parents. What a wonderful upbringing they are getting.👍👍🇨🇦
Yeah for sure thank you
