John I believe everyone had someone in their family that made these cookies. My cousin made them and they were big and chewy. Her secret ingredient was rice crispy cereal. She also did toffee, and two types of chip, chocolate and butterscotch. Pretzels, sweetened coconut, and whole peanuts. Two tablespoons of dough created a cookies that cookie monster would have dreamed about. Now I have to make these. Great video!
John, I'm not much of a baker or a cook. I watch your channel because I like you. I like your positive energy, I like hearing about and occasionally seeing your lovely family, and I like watching you do what you love. Thank you for sharing all of that with us. Also, 1:54 😂
Thank you for the recipes in grams! Ever since I started baking by weight, my results are the same every time. Also, I find grams so much more exact than using ounces. Every recipe of yours I've tried has been outstanding.
I'm doing activities with my niece's son. this afternoon we are going to make a pepperoni and cheese 🧀 which is his favorite pizza. he will love doing this with me when I make my grocery list.
What a great recipe for the Super Bowl gathering. I also love I can use those bits left on the bottom of the potato chip bags and pretzel bags. No waste!❤
An old coworker of mine used to bake these. They were so dang yummy. Thanks for the recipe - I will be making these very soon! adding mini pretzels to my shopping list...
These cookies look scrumptious, John! I've made a few different versions of Kitchen Sink Cookie recipes in the past, and they were all quite good...I haven't made your recipe yet, but I am mostly certain it will become the one I will make from that day forward. I have made a few of your recipes and they've all turned out absolutely wonderful!!! You're my go to recipe blog and UA-cam channel when I am looking for a specific recipe or just something delicious to bake! Your Chocolate Sheet cake recipe that uses fudge topping in the frosting is our all-time favourite chocolate cake!!! I make my own fudge topping, and it is so much better than anything you can buy at the supermarket. Thank-you for sharing your amazing recipes with us!!! 😊
Made these for my wife and daughter. Cookies turned out great, and I was using a hand mixer. Very delicious and this recipe makes a large batch of cookies.
I used to make these for my best friend for her birthday and Christmas every year. She passed away in 2019 and I haven't made them since. She always said they were "her special cookies."
I have to tell you I really love your channel! The recipes are great and content is delivered in a bright, positive manner while being insightful and educational. BRAVO!
I’ve watched so many of the videos. Bought the cookbook and looking forward to cooking recipes from it. Gluten intolerant so we’ll see how replacing regular flour with a 1-for-1 gf flour goes!
These look wonderful. As soon as I get my new mixer, I'll be baking a batch. Probably this Saturday, when the high temp is predicted to be about 3 below 0 F. Love your channel.
I've never had potato chips in a cookie before! My mom used to make a sugar cookie and rolled it in crushed up corn flakes...I'm sure that's a similar texture. Looks really yummy 😋
My recipe calls them dishpan cookies, most people with a farm sink, way back when I was young, used a square plastic container in their big farm sink. That way they could wash in the dishpan on one side of the sink and sit the washed dishes on the other side ready to be rinced. My cookies have oatmeal, coconut, semisweet chocolate chips, Butterscotch chips, Raisons and walnuts. The coconut browns and gives something amazing ot the texture of the cookie, and all of the other flavors, just make it impossible to pick a favorite one.
I made these 2 nights ago and they were a hit! I’ve been ordered to make more and this time I think I’ll add a few more pretzels and some pecans. Thanks for the recipe! ❤
As always, thank you for demonstrating another awesome recipe. Just observing your culinary techniques have helped me improve upon my cooking skills tremendously. You're always the consummate professional through and through.💐 I've never done the recipe with potato chips. Sounds like an interesting add in and definitely worth a try. I always add a nut of some type to my recipe. It's generally some coarsely chopped pecan or walnut pieces, depending on what I have. My topping is a back and forth drizzling of the cookies with a thick caramel sauce from a squeeze bottle, followed by a mixture of crushed pretzels and finely chopped nut pieces. Much like in your home, these cookies disappear within hours of being made. My granddaughters enjoy them slightly warm with a glass of very cold milk.😄
not sure how it happened but watching this recipe in particular has now become part of my 3.5 yo's bedtime routine 😂 he's even started calling the brown sugar chunks in our pantry "boulders" lol. I guess we're going to be making these cookies very soon.
Omg these cookies look amazing! I love the salty sweet combo so I’m excited to try these. I’ve made chocolate chip cookies that I rolled in Rice Krispie cereal and those remind me of these. Something I learned from making the Rice Krispie cookies though is that the cereal on the outside of them can start to get stale if you don’t eat them right away so that’s something I worry about with the potatoes chips in these. It could be fine, but just something to consider if you make a lot of them. But I’ve never made these specific cookies before so who knows. The next time I make Rice Krispie cookies I plan to just mix the cereal into the batter rather than rolling it on the outside of the cookie so that hopefully this will help keep the cereal from going stale so fast.
Hi JK, these look great! Those eggs, I find different sizes in the same package too. Today I made orange peel, walnut, 2 chip cookies, white & dark. Salted.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the contrast of sweet and salty! Great minds thinking alike I guess. haha. I loved your energy here today! So very energetic and light-hearted. Thank you for another great video/recipe as well as bringing more joy and positivity into our world.
Sweet and salty, my favorite. I know why it's a big batch. Otherwise, you'd have no cookies to bake, LOL! These look amazing and they're Brian-approved. Love your channel. Have a wonderful week!
Watching your videos makes me want to cook and bake! Thank you for sharing your gift with the world, can't wait to make these cookies. They look ridiculously good!
John, this is getting kind of scary. A few months ago I said, “Hmmm… I should make pumpkin donuts for my dad!” Since he LOVES donuts, and a day or two after you made a video on how to make pumpkin donuts. I thought it was bizarre but assumed it was a coincidence. Then I saw you post ANOTHER video of a food I was just talking about, and I brushed it aside, thinking it was a coincidence as well. And now, I was talking about Kitchen Sink Cookies a week or two ago and you posted this about a month ago! Whattttt!!! Are you stalking me? (Just kidding, but that’s funny!)
Hey, Mr.John I heard of everything but the kitchen sink ice cream, but this I'm going to make. this is my kind of 🥠 cookie! ya, you got chocolate, macadamia, which I love 😍, sugar cookie which I love 😍, and oatmeal 🥣. So let's make this! Hope I don't burn these cookies laugh 😂. Love watching you and videos. you're boys are so cute. you need to get them in the kitchen with you once in a while for family time.
I would make these after Christmas, when I had a handful of this and a handful of that left over from my Christmas baking. They usually included coconut, a couple of kinds of nuts, coconut, chocolate and butterscotch chips, and maybe raisins. Then I'd take them to work after January 1 and ruin everyone's resolutions. 😁
I've never known the name of them, but I've not been able to decide on what to put in cookies so I just put all the things in it lol. Now I know there's a name!
I'm not quite sure of the benefit of 'homemade' using so much highly processed ingredients but appreciate your continued posting of free recipes to UA-cam
Hello! 😄 Can you please do a how to on a lemon blueberry and cream cheese cake? I’m doing a baby shower cake for my best friend and I’m trying to get more comfortable with different flavors! 😄 thank you!
