When I went to school in mid 60s thru the 70s these were a hit at our school. The cooks made these but they spread them in a pan and cut them like brownies. We called them COW PIES
That is funny! I never heard them called cow pies 😂
@TheDiaryofaRealHousewife
I never knew there's peanut butter in them till I looked up the recipe a few years ago.
I like to get them from Walmart and Meijer just for a snack.
Where I live in Canada, we’ve always called the frogs lol
😂 cow pies I LOVE IT
I’m in Canada too, but I thought we called them haystacks.
I have made it today, and it comes out verrrrry delicious. However, I used 1 cup and a half sugar instead of two cups I added coconuts and walnuts
Thank you for sharing this recipe I love it❤
Oh coconut and walnuts sounds like a great addition!
Love these! Our neighbor growing up, made these every Christmas and would bring some over with fudge.
@@godshealed9093 it’s the perfect Christmas treat!
I use crunchy peanut butter in mine. 🎉 extra crunch and Yum 🎉 these are my favorites! 🎉
I am watching your video from Toronto, Canada and I liked your recipe very much
@@thelmapeter806 thank you!
One of Michigan favorite cookies.
Thank you for sharing my favorite cookie recipe from childhood. Its the best
My bff and I used to make these in the 60s she called them Rock and roll cookies
These are my favorite cookie.
Love no bakes!!! I have watched all your videos from 8 yrs ago to this one today👏👏 absolutely love watching you 😊
Wow thank you so much Cindy! Your support means so much to me.
Thank you , what a lovely time
Using crunchy peanut butter is also the bomb 💣 😋
Been making them for 50 years my mom longer… our name buffalo turds. I have never put peanut butter will give a try. Thank you
Delicious 😋
My mom used to put raisins in them. We loved them.
Look so good. How many cookies does receipe make
Ok as a child we also had a recipe for butterscotch no bake cookies and my mom didn't like that I made them them more than the chocolate ones, and threw away the recipe. I've never found a similar recipe and I'm 60 years old.
I need to try a butterscotch recipe with this. That sounds delicious!
My absolute favorite cookies🫶
Hi is there a substitute for peanut butter. I am allergic to nuts
I hope you find a safe alternative as it seems a shame if you can't get to enjoy any cookies which if the risk they'd kill you is too high to contemplate.
Good Luck.
I have never personally tested these with anything besides peanut butter. Possibly a sunflower butter? I’ve seen them in the store but never used it.
Hope it can! Maybe someone else with an allergy can chime in :)
Wow butter?
My husband makes sunflower seed butter, roast the sunflower seeds in the oven and then put in food processor while they’re still warm, add a pinch of salt. Process until creamy by pulsing it. Works great and is cheap to make your own.
I had essentially the same thing, called frogs, with dried unsweetened coconut. I asked how they were made and couldn't remember three seconds later, but the coconut was too obvious to miss.
Id love a keto version of these ❤
I tend to get the frozen Pillsbury chocolate chip cookies. Put them in the oven for about 13 minutes and let cool. I tend to drench mine in grape jelly.
Can you freeze these ?
My mom made this but no peanut butter, she added 1 cup coconut instead.
I changed it up a bit and made it 1 c of coconut and 1c of graham cracker crumbs and the 3c of oatmeal.
There you go 2 new ways to try the recipe.
I put in coconut instead of peamutbutter.
I going to make these, thanks for sharimg
I’ve never tried it with coconut, sounds good!
Where did you buy your hot plate and name and how much?ty
@@donnalaw8921 I got it Amazon! It’s called the Nuwave Flex Precision Induction Cooktop.
@@TheDiaryofaRealHousewife Thank you!!
Can you tell me about how much calories is in one cookie? Thank you.
Is the cocoa used in this recipe sweetened or unsweetened?
I use unsweetened cocoa.
My family has made these for generations tweak amounts to your desired tastes!
Can you make them without the peanut butter?
This is the recipe lol why do y’all always want to change it? Yes you need peanut butter cause that’s one of the main ingredients. If your allergic then these aren’t for you
🙏❤️
😊😋😊😋
❤❤❤❤❤❤
They don't know no bakes that well in Florida
We called them mud cookies, haven't had them in 10 years or longer
I've heard them called that before. Let me know if you try this recipe!
I don't like peanut butter in them.
