I'm not a build expert, but for your roofs I think they would look much better if you gave them more shape as well, rather than a flat trapezoid. Try raising or lowering the middle part of your roof to give it a curve, and also overhang the top of it more. If you bring out the top blocks more you could also hang a lantern or a sign from it as well and it looks cool. These are just two things I had in mind, I've never tested them out on a build because I have yet to build things in terraria for looks rather than function, so they may or may not look ugly instead of good. Edit: I've just thought of another thing unrelated to roofs. You may notice that some houses seem to look in a certain direction if they're asymmetrical, not all houses are like this. The house made in the video seems like its looking left, so it might be good to angle any extra roofs (Not the main roof, the main roof might be the biggest or highest roof on your house) towards that direction. You can also add windows looking in that direction or maybe a front porch.
These are all really good suggestions! I think if you browse the channel a bit more you will see a lot of variety in the roofing that I make. I even have a tutorial specifically for roofing. However, the goal generally is to keep it simple and in this video it was just a general tip to essentially not skip doing a roof of some kind! Whats that glove???
That's the hand of creation, pretty much the ultimate builder's tool!
I have a more in depth video on it you can check out here - ua-cam.com/video/oCAUdnJSC14/v-deo.html
Jesse, we need to build
Yes please!
The house is really beautifull but I think the roof kinda ruins it
Fair enough! I just needed a simple design to highlight my points so I wasn't too concerned with the final product.
The chance of you seeing this is probaly 0 but you can use a medusa or that other marble dude painted for better curtans :P
Hopin someone sees this
I see all things! One of the benefits of being a small channel!
The reason I use the slime banners is they are more readily available (especially in early game) and they take paint really well!
That said, they are not the ONLY banners you can use! The ones you find the in pyramid or the medusa or hoplite banners can also work perfectly well, it's really all up to you preference!
oh ok
@@Sketcher2 Appreciate your thoughts on this though! It's a good point to make to try different things :)
The shine off your eyes blind me.
You think that's bad? The light I have to use basically blinds me when I'm filming these things haha!
Building box with extra stepe
Its a multi-tiered, equilateral cuboid project

Wow indeed :)
For me what works well is deciding on some random feature like recently I made a right angle triangle ( basically this 📐 as a start) and forcing myself to make it work by experimenting
This is a good way to go honestly! It can help you avoid creative blocks and give you something to work from. Plus your builds might look more visually interesting when your done!
@@TommyTsunami absolutely! It can be things like forcing yourself to incorporate a certain type of block or maybe water etc it’s really fun!
@@a_catfish5180 Yea, I do that from time to time as well. I pre-select an item or design idea and just run with it!
Just watch Khaios, he's got great tips too.
Of course! He's got a wealth of experience to draw from as well and an excellent resource for all things Terraria! These are just the tips I think are useful!
