Im 32 and just got into these pixel games after so many years of playing modern games that were just money grabbing greedy companies and after putting over 200hrs into stardew valley I decided to try out Terraria and its so much fun and I enjoy your helpful guides!

Hey, could you do a video of a bunch of small building tips? Just anything that can make a build more nuanced and detailed like yours, would be so cool. Hope you're doing well!
He has an older video called "how to upgrade your wooden box!" it might not be exactly what you're looking for but if you haven't watched it i'd recommend it!
have you thought about continuing this series by making houses/bases throughout different stages of game progression? i think that would be really cool
Lovely video! Usually I usually wait to get good materials before building nice things on my world, but these might help me make early nice looking NPC houses!
I really like the houses you built and how you deterred the functions of the house by possibly how far you are in the game The first build for your first few minutes in the word, The second caved build for when you need NPC housing and storage. And the witch hut purely just for decor and to fill your world, when you're ahead of the game and just wanna mess around. Would love more videos like this!!! :D Thank you khaios for all your time.
I absolutely adore the underground one! Always had a love for subterranean builds that look engraved into the nature, especially a mountain or a cliff face, and this one absolutely does that style justice, especially for how easily buildable it is early on!
Khaios I built a massive world with a mushroom base inspired by your old buildy bunch base, a massive world tree based on the one from Norse mythology, and multiple castles. Build videos are what keeps me going
In games like terraria I often find myself constantly doubting my abilities when working with limited resources. This video is a great help with overcoming that!
I can't belive it, I just started a new world literally today and even after I tried, my starter houses ended up looking terrible, then this video shows up on the exact same day. Perfect timing.
As someone who's been playing this game since the old mobile versions, I really appreciate your channel. I've never been good at building, and I've recently began trying to get better, so your channel has been a huge help
a swamp biome would be so awesome. i tried making one way back, but couldn't get it to look like a swamp and not a jungle. i'd like to see your take on it and might give it another attempt myself
A build I'd like to see a modern take on is an underground bunker base, maybe with some traps and whatnot to help fight invasions. Also, some nice builds for fishing holes in different biomes/areas would also be really cool!
Since the "upgrade ur boxes" video i gotten even better in building, now im using a large celebrationMK10 world to use as my template to do exotic and big goodlooking houses trying everything, i even started using paint which I've never done, same as activators and wirings for some other things, and is super fun to try new mixes of paints and blocks Specially brown paint on meteorite brick block, looks like soft sandstone with gold cover
I personally just completed a rendition of the first starter house I removed the right half of the original roof for your build to add a bedroom that is the same shape as the first original room The build was done on a slightly sloped hill. So that even though the extension is 6 tiles higher than the first, the 10 block offset to the right allows the bedroom to meet the ground naturally (on the upper right side of the house) and ended up looking like a mirror of the original left side of the house where it meets the natural ground. To join the addition to the original: - There are stairs below the bedroom (with stone wall as the backdrop below the stairs) - The stairs connect to the original room The left side of the roof comes to the end of the original left half of the A-frame. Then continues that height until it meets the right side of the roof - The right side of the roof is a copy of the original A-frame. However, it is altered on the left half of the copied A-frame where the roof of the left side of the house meets it - In the middle of the two halves of the roof, I designed a roofing pattern similar to yours I made this change because, while I enjoy the look of your design, I needed to make it more practical for using it early on in my world. I plan to use this starter house not only as my spawn point, but as the place I will frequent for any purpose for dozens of hours as I progress through the game. I intend to use this starter house until I am somewhere closer to heading into hard mode. I don’t know when that will be. I imagine that I may change houses twice before hard mode (mainly because I intend to build a house in every biome to fully experience the game) I am on my first full play through of terraria. I had the game a little before this, but never did anything past some of the events and a couple of the first bosses. I intend now, to start a play through and take it all the way to the end. I want to fully experience the game once and then put the game down. I am using the drunken seed and playing on classic master mode There was also one more change to the your house design for practical purposes. I made my false foundation about thrice as deep as yours (but due to the added width from my extension, the added depth actually fits the look best) I did this so that I could add a trap door below those stairs I added. The trap door is just for looks. I intend to keep it open at all times for practicality. I fancifully designed the floor of this basement in a way inspired by you (keeping the wall backdrop and the platforms that look like supports). Then I added a false ladder like the one in your second starter house below the trap door. Lastly, I added decorative elements along with storage chests. The storage chests were the reason I extended the foundation and turned it into more of a crawl space. I wanted to have a place in the house that I could fancifully put many chests to store items. The way I designed it looks very natural in the build. If you’d like to see a picture of my design that you inspired, let me know. I don’t know how I can share a photo to you. But I’m sure we could figure it out. Regardless, I took the picture just to have for myself as it’s a great starter house that only took a little work to complete.
I like the looks of the underground house. Something I took a liking to in my most recent world are the leaf walls you can make at a living loom. They look great as shrubbery to make a forest, especially if you're building around some living wood trees, look more "dense". Give it some undergrowth. I find it nice to look at, which isn't something I usually say about my builds...
Nice Video! Maybe You Should Do A Building Challenge Where It Is The Opposite Of This Video, Where The Challenge Is To Make A Good Looking House With The Rareist And Most Expensive Block In The Game And NOTHING Else! Good Luck!
i would absolutely love to see you do something in the everything seed. that seed's landscape is so unique im certain you'd be able to come up with something cool!
My beautiful castle and 2 story wizard house with its tower has you to thank to! With your videos i was able to create non box houses and i really like building them!! THX
What an architect! Looking at these amazing builds and then hearing Khaios talk about a swamp biome I immediately thought how cool it would be to see him play DST - or rather just build a base in there, even if just in freecrafting mode. After playing it for a while I realized how much of a structured, clear mind you need to make something decent out of it haha and I see those qualities tenfold as Khaios builds.
Khaios is that one terraria youtuber that just makes me want to delete all my worlds and start fresh. Love this particular style, so much more intricate, so much more creativity where everyone else will spam wooden box hotels.
It would be cool if you could make this a series about making houses were you are region locked for materials, like only the blocks available in the given biome can be used to build the house
I LOVED the swamp in minecraft, id absolutely love that to be the final terraria biome. Actually, making deserts on the snowy side tundra would help make the worlds more coherent, maybe some more realistic distribution of biomes.
You should do more like this, with increasingly advanced building materials and items. Of course, not every single point in Terrarias progression, but major check points would be really cool to see, and extremely helpful. EDIT: People have said that you should do one for every biome and I completely agree.
thank you so much for making this video, i'm always struggling with making decent looking starter houses and i now definitely have some inspiration for things to try out!
this video is super helpful! i think a variation including materials from anywhere in the world, excluding hell probably, with only pre-boss materials would help a lot of people
I myself would really like to see custom biomes, like the swamp you said in the video. Or maybe upgrading the biomes that are already in the game, like making the forest biome look like a real forest.
hey i just found your channel but i'm really impressed with your talent tbh building aspect of the game is kind of overlooked by most players but the amount AND depth of possibilities offered are insane and this only video proves it already
Can we just appreciate the quality of the builds and video? The video itself is very well organized, the builds look great, and Khaios isn’t shouty and obnoxious like many UA-camrs today. This makes each video not only entertaining to watch, but also nice to just listen to because there isn’t any deliberate yelling. I can’t wait to give some of these tips a try, and I also can’t wait to see how you take on the rest of the biomes!
i love vids like these that are based on building. thats a huge reason i play games like this, but im not very creative on my own so its nice to see you walking through cool build like this
That house generated on the surface level is top tier luck (or not, given the theme of the video lol ) Thanks for the vid, will definitely be using the tips on my next Terraria playthrough xoxo
I love your build series videos, as is gives me some ideas on upgrading my simplistic starter homes. One idea that I would like to see is transform the crimson cave into a dungeon like system...maybe make it more like a castle or dungeon entrance with crimson theme dungeon like items along the way down, and a boss area/crimson farm area in the bottom. I would be interested in your take on it. (Also really interested in the swamp biome idea)
I’m a really advanced builder in Minecraft but I’m brand new to terraria and I really want to learn how to transfer those skills to 2D! Building is my favorite! Thankyou for these videos.
I would definitely love to see some underground build tip ideas. I usually struggle with them specifically and I think you would have some good ideas for them
Thanks for not editing out your breathing and pauses. Can't bear it when youtubers talk at you nonstop without natural breaks. Brain just goes "ahhhhhhh stop talking for a second" lol Great build videos boss
I'd like to have some ideas on how to improve a common house design of mine. Currently I just stack two towers of shoeboxes and put platforms between them for crafting stations. I also tend to have a basement below ground for storage and a hellevator. Great video! Have a good one.
This is kind of fantastic. I have a hill house I was really displeased with but had no idea how to mix it up a bit. Now I've got some ideas! Thanks! Edit: I would be curious to see a swamp build too.
Khaios... watching build videos like yours and one other has wound up helping me greatly to expand on my building skills in Terraria... to the point that I just cannot stand to build the standard noob box NPC hotel. I am practically compelled to hold off on the base building till I have the materials that I want/need so as to start building and just build temporary NPC housing away from the build site. love these vids btw.
I'd like to see a video in which you build houses themed around specific NPCs and their favorite biomes. The Truffle is always easy, but I never know how to build the tavernkeep's house in the hallow because he seems to be a much more underground-y NPC.
i've been wanting to build a grand castle in my current ranger calamity playthrough, but i just ended up making a temporary apartment complex because of the sheer amount of npcs to keep track of while i work everything else out. finally beat every pre-hm boss aside from wall of flesh, so now i can work on moving them out to level the apartments and build my castle
GOD that hill house reminds me of old terraria generation. I remember playing on terraria on the android phone, and bulding a HUGE mansion in a stupidly generated "mountain" that was actually those caves tiered on top of eachother three times over. It was just GENERATED like that!!! Three caves stacked on top of eachother!! I swiftly took the chance to turn the huge structure into my base, and it stayed my base till the Destroyer of Worlds where my Terraria app bugged out and got broke 😫 never got that world back.
I got a build challange for you, you have probably already done this, but here I go anyway, I want builds where the building relates to the NPCs job/personality. For example, the Merchant's house is a little shop. The Guide is a little comfy home with lots of books, the tavern keep is in, well, a medival tavern, etc. And you could do combos with NPCs with thier favorite person, like the Goblin and Mechanic in the underground ice biome or the Nurse and Arms Dealer in the desert oasis
@@Khaios hey man I feel sorry your losing your apartment, that’s not right apartment owners should have empathy and try to help the person get a better job ect, but unfortunately the worlds still pretty cruel yet. At least it’s getting better day by day, strikes are winning ect. I feel bad, stuff like this happens to people. idk who you are your polices ect but I’m sure your a nice innocent guy. Oh also sorry but everything is political even terraria XD anyways hope you have a place to live soon and you do ok. Have a great day love and acceptance and peace be with you. ☺❤
idk if it would be your style but its like a hard realistic Minecraft with the ability to chisel blocks. though of all the insane detail you could do in that game. tho it may be a big stretch from terraria. thought it was worth a mention. Hope youre doing well! thank you for the great content you make :D@@Khaios
11:40 seeds also a good option Also I would quite like to see you try building more vehicle-inspired bases, I always quite enjoy building large machines on legs or tank tracks for more steampunk builds, and would love to see your approach to it!
I was actually thinking about asking if you'd be able to build a Swamp Biome when you mentioned it. Some of my favorite builds are your biome builds. I'd love to see what you come up with.
It's a good day when Khaios teaches me not to build a box
Always
Khaios: “This… is a box.”
Everyone: “Dear god.”
Khaios: “I can make it look better.”
Everyone: “No…”

I'd like to see a video in which you build houses themed around specific NPCs and their favorite biomes. The Truffle is always easy, but I never know how to build the tavernkeep's house in the hallow because he seems to be a much more underground-y NPC.
its unfortunate that the plushies didnt work out they were so cool! Let's hope for a next time!
Don’t forget hay blocks! I made our most recent spawn house a giant lumpy thatch house that ended up with a big mushroom growing out of the top
i've been wanting to build a grand castle in my current ranger calamity playthrough, but i just ended up making a temporary apartment complex because of the sheer amount of npcs to keep track of while i work everything else out. finally beat every pre-hm boss aside from wall of flesh, so now i can work on moving them out to level the apartments and build my castle
Thank you! Very useful!
A custom swamp biome would be very interesting too.
i wonder how much pain khaios feels when he sees players making shoeboxes
The house inside the hill looks absolutely fantastic! Thanks Khaios!
Been playing Terraria with a couple of roommates and these are absolutely wonderful! I definitely wanna give the cave/hillside one a try!
I love watching this with a full world of megabuilds
lovely houses for players just starting! I'll be taking notes
I’ve been playing this game for years and it’s the first time I’ve heard about Angry Dandelions. This is wild.
Love your ability to make something look great even using simple blocks and all. Also curious have you ever heard of vintage story?
I have not :o
Sorry to hear the plushie couldn't hit it's goal, it was cute!
11:40 seeds also a good option
Also I would quite like to see you try building more vehicle-inspired bases, I always quite enjoy building large machines on legs or tank tracks for more steampunk builds, and would love to see your approach to it!
Your channel makes me wanna play terraria again. You are amazing!
I was actually thinking about asking if you'd be able to build a Swamp Biome when you mentioned it. Some of my favorite builds are your biome builds. I'd love to see what you come up with.
I like how you invent blocks to use in your builds (in a nice way)!
