I teach my 2nd grade students rock/paper/scissors so they have something to do in all the little waiting periods, etc...but every time, I giggle to myself and think about TBBT
The "one of us" thing actually comes from an old black and white movie called Freaks. It's a pretty good film, you should give it a look sometime.

I love the war between Sheldon and Penny. It was so funny. Sheldon was right until he threw her clothes on the pole.
She should have apologized too. His house, his rules, she should have acknowledged that.
In the first episode of this part, sheldon's rules he gave penny were reasonable:
He doesn't want spam memes
He doesn't want her germ covered hands on his food
He has a place he prefers to sit
Whereas penny took a personal grudge into the work place which she's lucky sheldon didn't report her to her boss and get her fired.
Exactly, it’s his house, his rules. I call bull crap on her whole taking a stand thing. I hate how she got the victory in this episode over something SHE did. She should have also apologized.

As a guy who watched every episode of tbbt, I memorized rock, paper, scissor, lizard, Spock
Big Bang Theory is such an underrated show. In fact every single sitcom tier list I've seen on Google images and people's twitters put the show in a pretty low spot and I mean every single one!!! (Except 2 other people I saw on UA-cam but that's besides the point) No clue why!
I've watched all 12 seasons and I will attest that this show only gets better and better in character development and story progression with every season. Just fair warning, as you get invested in the characters, there are some pretty heart-warming and tear-jerking moments ahead.

I was always on Sheldon's side in the Sheldon vs. Penny battle, since he's actually in the right.
First off, she's mooching off of Sheldon and Leonard, both in terms of food and the cable that THEY paid for, then she takes Sheldon's personal food (not the food that he/Leonard gave to her, but his OWN food) and contaminates it (made enough worse by the fact that she knows he's a germaphobe; hell, I'm not a germaphobe and I get pissed when someone takes food off my plate without permission).
When Sheldon informs her of previous grievances he has with her (sending unsolicited emails, which again would annoy a couple of people since it clogs up their inbox with things they didn't want) and later her sitting on his spot (not necessarily a valid reason to be mad, I understand), she decides to be purposefully rude to the guy in his OWN home, whilst mooching off of him (that is a valid reason to send anyone out of your home, especially since he'd given plenty of chances).
Next day, she decides to be rude and refuses to serve Sheldon specifically (therefore "discriminating" against him), without Sheldon having done anything to be rude or nasty once in the restaurant (at the very least). Bringing personal grudges into the workplace and refusing to serve customers for non-valid reasons is grounds for firing, so Sheldon wasn't been nasty in that regard... but she only adds onto that by violating the health code (by doing someone to his burger) and/or threatening a customer.
After all that, for some reason, she gets pissed when he cuts her off from using Sheldon's (and Leonard's) Wi-Fi that she DIDN'T pay for, but was using nonetheless. Despite the fact that everything Sheldon was doing was perfectly understandable and honestly restrained on his part, she decides that she's been wronged and decides to get back at him. It's only here, after numerous provocations, that Sheldon finally stoops to Penny's level, yet he's portrayed as the villain.

OMG the Penny and Sheldon war. The eye patch. The Mars Rover. I'm getting an urge to rewatch these. I just might, especially as you get closer to whenever I stopped watching, which was a year or two after CBS pulled their shows from Hulu.

You know, I actually agree with Sheldon on the whole "Don't touch my food" deal. Penny was mooching off of them for quite some time and Sheldon just put her in her place. Her being mad over that is super childish.
the woman who does mrs. wolowitz's voice is about half the size of what she sounds like so, while there's a couple glances of her, we don't actually see her

One that you might enjoy, and it's only a 7 part series so super short but incredible, the queens gambit, if nothing else it's only 7, so not a huge commitment, but the story is incredible, it's about chess, amongst other things, but you don't need to know a thing about chess to fall in love with the story.

Penny made the mistake of thinking Sheldon was like the others; that he will let her walk over him and disregard his rules. Unreasonable or not, it is Sheldon's apartment and Penny shouldn't be allowed to do as she pleases. She takes food and money from them, changes channels, lives off their Wifi, so it's not unreasonable to expect mutual respect. The others only let her do it because she's attractive. Sheldon will not.

Yes, by all means do the recent Star Trek movies, but note that there are numerous callbacks to the original series, so basic familiarity would help a lot. For myself, I really like the first and the third one, not so much the second, though opinions will naturally vary.

Hi Cody, Love your "Big Bang Theory" reactions. You said you were thinking of watching the Star Trek movies, having had no prior experience with Star Trek, and you were thinking of starting with the newer ones. As someone that has seen all of the Star Trek movies, I recommend that you not start with the J.J. Abrahms rebooted series. Please start with the Original Series cast movies. In fact, I would recommend that instead of starting with "Star Trek: The Movie" (which starts out really really slowly), that you skip that and watch a few of the original series episodes first, then start the movies with "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn". Whichever episodes you decide to watch, you should make sure you include Season 1, Episode 9 "Dagger of the Mind" which will give you more background on Vulcans and Season 1 Episode 22 "Space Seed" which is the episode that leads to the events of "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn". Another reactor "RolyPolyOllie Reactions" watched them in the order you were thinking of and regretted it when he got to "The Wrath of Kahn". Not saying that the newer ones are bad, it's just that the Original Series cast films are so much better. There is a reason why Star Trek has lasted 50+ years and spawned many spin-offs - it's the writing and the chemistry of the actors, and the fact that the original cast is so endearing. Just the two cents of a Trekkie.
Two other feel-good shows I recommend are The Good Place and Ted Lasso

I swear, I love the “I’m gay and know that’s not what you say.” You crack me up each time you do a “I’m gay but….” The new Star Trek movies are awesome! The first one is almost a love letter to old Trekkies but you don’t have to watch the old ones to enjoy it.

I may be in the minority here but I was with Sheldon in the first episode, he simply asked that people not send him annoying pop ups or pick at his food you can't tell me that wouldn't piss you off too. And Penny did nothing but antagonise him, if she'd just acted like an adult and let it go in the first place none of this would have happened, instead she shot back at him like an 8 year old

I think pretty much everyone agrees with that assessment. I love Penny, but yes she was in the wrong here, mostly because she wouldn't simply apologize when she was in the wrong (even Leonard admitted that technically "I didn't do anything to apologize for" wasn't true, and given how into her he is, he wants to take her side). Now the other 2 strikes are a bit extreme, due to Sheldons personality. It appears she got a strike for sending him funny emails, before being told not to, and for sitting in his spot also. Taking someone's food is a legitimate strike reason, but again the bigger issue is not simply saying she is sorry. But it does all make for a funny episode as the battle each other.

You gotta do clone wars it’s amazing, it’s a little kiddy at first but later on in the show it gets much more mature, also in terms of Star Trek the new ones are a prequel/reboot series they explain it in the first one and they don’t do it in a complicated way
