The scene where Penny gives her gift to Sheldon and his reaction to it, is one of my favorite in the series, Jim Parsons acted it out magnificently

I agree, but another great moment is when Tiny Spock talks to Sheldon while he is on the computer, the voice is the real Leanord Nimoy. It's hysterical

The comment about Leonard saying "you're a grown adult, you can do it yourself", let me just say, as someone who also deals with low self-esteem, that is one of the worst things to say to someone with low self-esteem. Just saying "grow up" doesn't work and will actually make the person in question feel worse about themselves.
Exact same reaction as telling a guy to "man up". We might not show it but it can cut deep.

Sheldon is rarely if ever wrong about factual information. It's the social information and actions that he fails at understanding.
Sadly, and inexplicably, Stephanie is never seen or even mentioned again.
She wasn't good for Leonard anyway
I really disliked the Stephanie character.
"It's a Saturnalia miracle!" The Christmas episode of Season 2 is my absolute favorite, as I've mentioned before. It's quick-witted, the performances are top tier, and it has surprising heart.

You should know Cody, that Howard did learn a lot this episode. His comments on Penny and creepy stuff in general is his way of hiding his insecurities. He is aware now that it is not okay, and in the following season, he will grow even more.
What we see Howard do is the result of the way he has been treated his whole life. He has been rejected again and again, even though he tried to be friendly, but has witnessed how the popular kids always got the girls, even though they were always over the line and gave them creepy comments. In a way, Howard became to believe that was the way to get girls, but in reality, it was just because those boys were popular and good looking.
Thankfully, Howard will realize he just needs to be himself to get the right girl, just you wait😊😊😊
There is a lot of misogyny in the TBBT fanbase, so it's a breath of fresh air that you are actually calling Howard out in this episode. Penny should not have had to apologize. Howard has hit on her multiple times, with varying levels of creepiness, and she has shot him down every time. He needs to learn to take a hint! Thankfully, he does indeed start to become better as the show goes on. Not immediately, but there is true progress and reflection on his part.
And instead the new pathetic character is raj

It is a form of sexism that keeps women at a lower social status than men, thus maintaining the societal roles of patriarchy. Buy a dictionary and look up the words you're going to use before you use them,instead of following the woke and uneducated. Howard is a pervert overcompensating for his lack of confidence

I love Penny finally having enough of Howard's crap and telling him off. She has made it clear from the beginning she's not interested in him and he won't stop. I hate that she apologizes to him. He should have apologized to her.
I agree to an extent that Howard needed to be put in his place (and yeah, he might have deserved that punch as well) but I think telling him he was gonna grow old and die alone was going a bit too far. Just a bit.
And, don't worry, Kripke's speech impediment isn't the actor's real voice. Lol
The actor does have a bit of a speech impediment/lisp, but it's not to that degree. He severely exaggerates it for this show.
So weird seeing the actor playing Kripke in other roles, I never expect his real voice
And as Howard is married and has two children it also wasn't true.

Howard deserved it & he does evolve over the series. I think he did learn something, but he also is a big one for putting on a show for the other guys.
Only Bernadette could change him.
Yet she remains a total jerk to e1 else. She's the least likable person by a mile the last several seasons. To her friends, to her co-workers, everybody.

You're absolutely right about Howard. He's a gem as the seasons progress. But I swear I'm the only one in the new reactions that calls out Bernadette for being toxic to basically everyone, especially to Penny and her co-workers.

I think Sheldon doesn’t really mind someone sitting on his spot if he doesn’t really intend to sit on it. I’ve noticed from a few episodes all throughout the series. He only makes it a big deal when when he’s planning to sit there and someone is on it
Agreed. Also it'svdifferent when someone is lying on the couch. Then the person is not sitting on his spot but using the whole couch as a bed.
30:16 I do agree in some ways but we need to remember that Howard may physically be a grown man but as we have seen from his mother he has been treated like a child.
I once dated a guy who the same age as me(both adults) but we couldn't have a single adult conversation without his mum being around and speaking for him, eventually I dumped him and told him to seek a therapist to help deal with his dependency issues.
That killer robot is a real shock in this episode
Howard's road to redemption begins in season 3 and culminates at the end of season 5.
Kripke is hilarious when he does show up in the show, and his fake speech impediment makes him even more funny.
To clarify, the character's speech impediment is real; the actor does not speak that way.

There are so, so many amazing moments and scenes throughout all 12 seasons but the scene when Penny gives Sheldon the napkin is still my absolute favourite! It makes me laugh and melt inside every time! That hug is awkward and adorable at the same time.

Kripke’s speech pattern isn’t necessarily a lisp, but more of a rhotacism a la Elmer J. Fudd. He replaces Rs with Ws (Wobot vs Robot, for instance)

Christmas one is all time my favourite one.
I don't know why but this reaction list has been amazing. I already used to enjoy watching this show with my step dad and I love watching your videos. I definitely didn't think this is ever something I'd watch a reaction of but since you have a fun personality where it feels like were hanging out and watching TV or something. now it's like my comfort at the end of the day to sit down and watch these videos and tune out.
I’ve been watching your channel for a while now and I was so excited when you started TBBT. So glad you’re enjoying it like i do. It’s one of my favorites. You are not wrong about Howard. In the beginning he was someone I found funny, but also just said creepy things all the time. As the show progressed I liked him a lot more. Everyone in this show has growing to do and it’s a great journey to be apart of. Can’t wait for the next reaction!

Cody, you are definitely not being too hard on Howard. In a season 4 episode, we even learn he gave Penny a teddy bear with a hidden Webcam in it. 🥴 He has years of horrible behavior ahead of him. He thoroughly deserves that punch.

Honestly, I agree with you on Howard. I couldn't stand him in the earlier episodes. I'm surprised he got to season 2 before getting a hurtful comment and a punch in the face.
Was Penny's comment hurtful and mean? Yes. Should she have said it? No, probably not. Should he have said- pretty much anything he said to her, as well as other women, or about other women behind their backs? No. Also definitely not. Did he deserve to be put in his place? Kind of. Not to the extend that it happened, but yeah, he's allowed to know how he's behaving and how it's affecting other people. I personally don't think he was the victim in this scenario.
Luckily he does sort of change over time.
I agree that what Penny said needed to be said and that if Penny was going to apologize to Howard he definitely should have been apologizing to her as well.
I will say though that Howard's character goes from being my least favorite in these early seasons to being one of my top favorites by season six and I would say that his character is almost unrecognizable, in a good way, by seasons nine and ten.
I love this show and Howard's character development is one of my favorite things about it.

The thing were Leonard says about the railroad spike actually happened to someone, where his personality changed from nice and calm, to mean and aggressive!

I feel like Sheldon and Penny ruined Leonard's relationship with Stephanie. Leonard didn't seem at all uncomfortable with their relationship until those two labeled it as living together. Leonard is attracted to women who have strong personalities and who go after what they want. It wasn't a big deal for him until Sheldon and Penny made it a big deal. Unlike some women in his life, Stephanie didn't have any malicious intent and genuinely seemed to like him. On BBT FB groups, I've seen people malign Stephanie, even saying nasty things about her looks, which I think she looks adorable. Though I've shipped Leonard and Penny from day one, I really liked the chemistry between Leonard and Stephanie. About the Christmas episode, it's iconic in BBT fandom. It's a fan favorite. The actress who plays Penny, Kaley Cuoco, said she cried because she was so happy when she read that Sheldon was going to hug her. As for Howard, Penny was right to tell him off. I've no sympathy for him. He's my least favorite main character, and I feel like when he does the bare minimum that a decent person would do he's given far too much credit for it, and his nasty behavior is too often excused. I totally disagree with Leonard convincing Penny to go talk to him to make him feel better. Anyway, I love your BBT videos. You do the best BBT reactions I've seen, and your little dances to the theme song make me smile.

I'm so glad you called out Howard's misogyny. He does improve as the show goes on, but I never liked the fact that Penny was forced to apologize. He was being a a creep and not taking no for an answer. He deserved to be called out on that. By making the woman apologize it sends a really troubling message that men can get away with that kind of behavior in real life. That being said this show is very funny and I'm glad you're watching it.
The people that used to defend Howard at this point in the show seem to take the argument that Howard never has actual malicious intentions. He just has this attitude he puts up as a defence mechanism of his tragic past and yadayada.
Of course Howard is a good guy and indeed never means ill, but that does in my eyes not change the fact that he is quite a piece of work here. Penny finally putting him in his place was a breath of fresh air to me, even though I did not get triggered/irritated by him (I even found him funny, since karma does strike him whenever he acts out of place).
No matter what kind of tragic past you might have, acting the way Howard does is just unappealing and wrong. And I don't really care wheneither the intentions are good or bad, just....don't treat people like this. Point. XD

You are right. Howard was a total ass early in the show. I don't understand how anyone can defend him at this point.
Kripke is a bad person. In most shows a person with a speech impediment would be written as a sympathetic person because somehow it would be mean to not like him. Here, the way he speaks is just a fact and separate from the quality of his personality. In this first appearance the focus is on his desire to destroy his opponents. the guys know him and give the way he speaks little notice.

To this reaction I think the fact that you're a gay guy, makes your reactions to the big bang theory that much funnier for some reason. I guess it's because I'm straight, and while I laugh at many jokes for one reason, you do it from an angle that is different. Idk it's just fun times.
I'd like to recommend a very good film, if you haven't seen it, which is called "I am Sam". It's not the most suspenseful, but it has such hearth.

About Howard, yeah the show tackled it right. He will have a character development. Won't spoil how or when.
But at this point I believe it was tricky for the writers because Howard was a loved character for sure apart from the inappropriate comments. So they can't change that character of his entirely in 1 go but it'll happen!
Howard’s a lot to take for a while but he does improve over time. As a woman, I’ve been friends with guys like Howard and ya basically have to just knock ‘em out with one punch one liners. I was in the Navy sooooo, you can imagine how they are. Anyway, Howard will get on your nerves but he does become a better man. And Sheldon pushes his boundaries out a bit.
Cody it’s okay to dislike Howard cuz he is not supposed to be liked at this point.
I won’t spoil anything but will just say that slowly he will grow to not be as mysoginistic as he is now and have some likeable traits.

Loving your reactions. Worth noting that both Stephen Hawking AND Barry Kripke are recurring characters in BBT. Though not, AFAIK, at the same time, thank ghod..
This is basically the turning point of Howard's character. Not to say that he's immediately not misogynistic right after this episode but his character does get better for the next few seasons until that's not really even part of his character anymore. There are still a few jokes every now and then which are really just kinda fucked up but that's about as far as it goes
In defense of the show though, you're not supposed to agree with Howard here. Like it's obvious the show portrays him as this creepy loser who's awful to and awful with women. But it is odd how we're just supposed to expect Penny to be ok hanging around Howard when he's constantly making these kinds of comments all the time
