I am a dodgy old metal goth and I absolutely love Ren - because he says things that no-one wants to say, he is an amazingly gifted writer, composer, arranger and performer but above all everything he does is done with heart and at the end of the day that is what makes him so dang compelling regardless of your taste in music. -- now separate from that, thank YOU for taking on a career field that is so very undervalued and increasingly underappreciated.... you are a complete star.

You are right when you say he says the things other ppl won't or are afraid to. With Suicide he didn't want to censor the word but YT made him but they were fine with MURDERER no censor at all. Make it make sense ? Suicide is a big problem right now but don't say the word it's a trigger, the ppl who deal with it daily won't do it if they hear the word. Now you have to say unalived instead of killed or murdered. But you can have a song called Murderer, make it make sense. These were not Gen X problems because the word wasn't so frowned upon or talked about so much that they turned it into a no no word.

The same day he made this video He went to the clinic, got an IV in his arm for few hours, run some test and came back home. It's been like that for 15 month, and tru that he creat music, manage to bring a full album out and even brang it to No 1 chart in UK without being played on radio, without being able to promote it or do any show, only his dedication to share with the community on YT. He is so real, so human and so tru, no game, no fake, no BS. I think it's why we love him so much. Great reaction, and PLZZZ stop apologizing for talking about your job, it's one of the most important one in this world. I don't remeber if you did the Money Game yet, but you have an important role Sir, teaching, educating, making those kids think for themself or for thinking for other is as important as knowing 2+2 IMO Thank you 🙂

I've been following Ren since he had 5,000 subscribers. When this speech came out, I fell in "love" (I'm married and it's not like that, but a small obsession started) with him. His genuine soul has been proven through his music, this speech, interviews, his live streams.... he's always the same. I make my kids (11 & 8) listen to this once a month-ish. When his album was set to chart here in the UK, he turned his phone off because he didn't want the press to call him and spoil the result, he wanted to listen to the chart rundown on the radio with his friends, and find out at the same moment as the fans. About 7 of them rented a cabin in the woods for a few days and listened there.
The radio station had to ask on air for him to call them, so they all started googling the number. 😂
He's been making music since he was 13. He started out making electronic beats and selling the CDs. Then moved to rapping, singing, and playing instruments because nobody in his small village would collaborate with him so he had to do it so himself. Then as a teen he began busking (performing on the street for tips) stuff would be out so fast every day just singing on the street. It's why so many of his videos are live and one take, because he honed his craft in a live setting not a studio.
His whole team is made up of the friends who have been part of that journey, the difference is he can actually employ them properly now!
He's been consistent with this message and attitude all his life. There are health vlogs from 11/12 years ago where he says many of the same things. Just before Hi Ren released, he reshared one of the hardest of those vlogs. He thought he was dying and told his story in the hope that doctors would see it and help others when he was gone. It's awful to watch, but shows where he has come from and how it shaped him. The dark and the light.

I hope you show it to your students. I think they can learn a thing or two.
Also: On that very day he didn't feel very good and his illness caught up to him again.
He is still in canada for treatments right now and at the time this was filmed.
All since the beginning of 2022 to treat his lyme disease and auto immune issues that are the result of years of misdiagnosis
It took many years for him to find out that he has lyme, but then all the wrong treatments already did damage to him and his body.
And that is just a tiny part of the whole story.
Anyway: Ren is special. In so many ways.
He is the brightest light in the darkness of this world he could ever be.
For a little more, check my channel as I have many snippets from him on there and also old streams.

Please watch some of his interviews, especially Zach Sang Interview. Either for yourself, or I have seen some reactors react to it and break it into various parts (because it's fairly long). It's got some great stuff that your school kids may enjoy. I am old, but I remember in school, being so excited when we got to watch something not school related. I became obsessed with his music before I even understood what an amazing heart he has and the intelligence he possesses. Newly subscribed. P.S. his band, The Big Push, blew me away and quickly became my favorite band at 53 years old. They are ALL so talented, not just Ren. And no egos.

One of the many reasons why we love him so much. For many of us Renegades he is like a son or a brother. We delight in any success he receives as if he were our own. He is so open and vulnerable that it feels like we've known him our whole lives and would protect him fiercely. I've never felt this way about another artist and I'm a middle aged woman. It's so weird but wonderful at the same time. But now you know. Welcome to the club. Try watching Seven Sins next.

The perfect video to understand why we all love him so much. He is not just a brilliant artist, but a beautiful human being. As you said, he has literally saved lives. He makes us cry with his vulnerability and gives so many people the courage to be vulnerable too, he makes us feel less alone in the dark as a relatable voice for anyone struggling with mental and/or physical health, he inspires hope with his belief in the light and even simply still being alive despite the hell he has been through, and he makes us laugh with his cheeky humour. An artist with an abundance of empathy, intelligence, and creativity. The world needs Ren.
Also technically he started out and got discovered busking in the streets. But he has since very much found a way to use UA-cam and social media as platforms to promote community. He truly lives by the saying “a rising tide lifts all boats” and is proof that a good relationship between artists and reactors is mutually beneficial. And is probably making a few record labels worried with how much he has achieved as an independent artist through community and collaboration 😂

This is one of the most accurately articulated explanations of one of the most important aspects of Ren and his music - his authenticity and incredible humanity. There are many musical prodigies out there, but no one produces art to Ren's quality AND shows such pure vulnerability, such genuine and captivating emotionality and relatability, all while maintaining a positive message about the responsibility of being good, kind, honest, empathetic, humble, and true to oneself. Honestly who does all this besides him? I'm extremely new to this fan community, only a few weeks, but like so many others I've been watching an endless string of reaction vids just to share in the communal experience of discovering his music, art, and humanity. This is my first reaction channel sub and the first reaction video I've commented on though; what you said meant that much to me. One of the reasons I love his work so much is that I relate strongly to the balance he maintains between positive and negative throughout his music and art - where there is shadow there is light, where there is pain and grief there is also joy and humor, where there is loneliness there is also community, where there is suffering and cruelty there is also wisdom and empathy, and where there is death or tragedy, creation. That's been a HUGE lifelong mantra for me and I've never seen anyone express it so effectively and relatably as Ren does. It's very nice to see someone react to the positive humanity he exemplifies, as well as his music.
And I wouldn't worry about wishing you could pass on Ren's sentiments and positive messages to your students, it's clear they already have someone in their lives doing so, in you. Well done 😊

Songs like Hi Ren praise it, songs like the Money Game series rail against the assault on human dignity. Even when he's just having fun with his music he somehow creates a warm and human connection with his audience that holds up human dignity in a kind of everyday and affectionate way. Even in his rap battle with King Dotta (another one for later), that idea of dignity is still very close to him. Ren is special.

I know you're pretty new to the Ren journey, but I love your chill sort of energy. I'm sure you're an amazing teacher. Subbed and looking forward to more Ren!
One thing about him is he isn't afraid to be vulnerable. He gets emotional when talking about his illness or when he sees his dreams coming true (see illness of our kind/birthday stream and his reaction to getting the #1 album in the UK). He's a pretty special person. As you hear more of his music you'll see what I mean. Not only is he a fucking creative genius/incredible musician, but he's quite humble, intelligent and very authentic and he's pushing such a positive message it's hard not to love him.

Ren is the example of how we should treat eachother. The love for other human beings and the effort to express that in such a pure way, is what a lot of people genuinly feel but never speak out. I love Ren because I love love. We are better than we think but we have to share our emotions to get to the point of being convinced that we are ok. That we are not only the mistakes we make. Everything has a reason. Just don't let it escalate and try to be honest about what happens to you. It's ok.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings to Ren's video. Hearing how you relate it to your students and the lessons you hope to convey to them is inspiring and reassuring. Ren is pure in his empathy and good will towards others, and the community has embraced that ethos.

Show this to your students. Showing emotion is a good thing. Ren really hates the toxic masculinity in this world. He shows his emotions and has not problem with that. Your students need this, everyone needs this. Thank you.

Hey man, I obviously missed your first dive into Ren. Welcome to this rabbit hole by me as well.
Lot of Rens words are worth citing. Somewhere I saw some comment like this: "Ren, how did you get into my head to say the things I haven't found words for in years?"
'Eden' is another great example of wise words of Ren. But it makes more sense do watch 'Money Game' parts 1-3 first. Because one could see 'Eden' as a kinf of continuation of that trilogy.
His reaction to King Dottas Diss also sheds a light on what kind of person Ren is.
In addition I wanna recommend 'Ren ft. Bibi - Crutch'. The song comes from his darkest days, when he really thought he would'n live much longer. The song is so heartbreaking, beautiful and deep. It has a great no-budget video as well. Bibi was his girlfriend at that time and started a GoFundMe to raise donations for his treatment/diagnosis. If I understood correctly, it was the basis for the diagnosis of his Lyme disease.

Wow, beautiful reaction to this lovely video. I think Ren is so authentic and brave ❤ I would like to say to you that you are not "just" a history teacher, PE teacher, and guitar teacher. You strike me as a very empathetic, compassionate soul who digs deep and gives the best of what you have to others. I hope you become less skillfull at "keeping it together" as I believe there is real strength in being vulnerable. That is what I see in Ren and I think that is a lot of the pull he has on us. Wishing you many beautiful moments in your life and thank you for reacting to this video ❤❤❤

It was heartwarming to see how this affected you as it did to so many of us. Your reaction to it was perfect because it was personal to you. I think you are ready to react to Ren's Money Game series. All 3 are different yet have a connection to one another. If and when you do, it's important that part 2 is the Official Lyric Video, not the other two on his page. It's the one with the most views. I do wish all your students could watch this video. But schools are a big beaurocratic mess

Ren is grounded by his medical issues. He is a tour de force. A complex package of humble and yet acknowledges his skills in a cheeky, fashion which brings a smile to many. He is quick to share his stage with others and let them shine. I hope, as his rise continues, that no one tries to stomp him out. The world has much left to learn, experience and enjoy from Ren.

Ren speaks for so many unheard voices. He's a guide of light to all left in the dark. His humble loving kindness out shines so many artists. Also he is looked at as a super hero in many people eyes although he doesn't take advantage of vulnerable people he lifts them up with his rising tide... Putting aside his magical talents it's because of his beautiful soul that we all love and care for him very much ❤ so thank you for sharing this educational speech 🤗

❤❤❤ I know REN would LOVE if you pulled quotes out of this to tell your students. As Ren has said its our youth and next generations that inherit the liars murderers and theifs in this world we abuse and we beat. You should watch the money game trilogy, its all about the politics and money and polarization he explains it in such simplistic terms i really think you will get a lot from it a lot to share in relatable terms to those young thirsty minds!!!❤❤❤ We are all here for your tears, laughs, tangents and thoughts. Its the difference in being a fan of Rens music and being a RENegade. We have all as humans been blocked off from expressing emotions on topics that are taught to be silenced. Ren has made a space where people can just be real and completely accepted. We all relate to eachother in one way or another anywhere on this globe. But we are all human!!! Also if you find time watch Rens interview on the Zack Sang show in my opinion its one of the best of all his interviews!!! Hugs to you friend!

Great to see your reaction! Besides YT, Ren was in a band The Big Push & they did a lot of street performing in Brighton where they built up a nice fan base locally - if you look at the crowd in the videos (for their original songs especially) you’ll see a bunch of people singing along word for word from beginning to end 😆
Obviously not the same reach numbers-wise as YT (although their videos are doing very well on YT alongside REN’s solo stuff), but it’s refreshing to see/ know that live performances & busking have been a big part of his music career.
They also have some amazing covers from I Shot the Sheriff to War Pigs to Englishman in NY, so that’s a fun side quest / rabbit hole to go down too!!
On a different note, I recently learned that Ren has a Patreon with a nice free section & even a tier where he has piano & guitar lessons! This kid… 🤯 😂
